I have never been to Bali before, but its a must visit place for me very soon after I have got tempted by alot of my friends on their great scenery and especially on the food! Well, since I have not been there, and right now we can get a taste of how actually Balinese food taste like. I have actually dine at this restaurant a few times that I just did not blog about it and I guess I should now ..

The Uma which located in Kota Damansara next to the Strand that offers a great selection of Balinese food and best of all, its a shop that offers NON-HALAL food. The chef cum owner had work in Indonesia previously and decided to come back to spread Balinese cuisine to locals.

The whole interior was decorated to get as much feel of Balinese as possible, with wooden chairs and tables, and if you prefer something different for dining, you can head upstairs.

With simple decoration that put on the wall of scenery of paddy field, makes you feel like as if you are dining next to it and up in here, they do not have chairs, that offer to sit on the floor style with pillows for your comfort.

They are reasonably price with the portion they serve, you better opted to share and it is advice that for a pax of 3 person you order 2 person’s meal. If not enough then only decided to order extra.

Jus Apokat (Indonesian Avocado Juice) behind – RM 9
Fresh avocado & milk drizzled with chocolates! I am not a Avacado fan but its good, not too thick nor milky

As to end on our meal, we ordered Es Campur Bali – RM9 a bowl of Bali’s ABC brimmed with cendol, jackfruit, cincau & coconut. Something which is not too sweet and I love the jackfruit, if they add in more would be even more nice.

Our dinner was rather simple to order as in sets, a set that can just satisfy us that serve most of the authentic balinese food under one big plate. A meal with reasonable price and companion certainly we will be back for more again!

Since then I am back here, the only shop that taste near to that country so far that I have tried is Waroeng Penyet and Ole Ole Bali but now, there is another restaurant called Little Warong Jakarta that newly open about a month ago that cater authentic Jakarta food that more towards Javanese.

I love travelling and one of the place I travel quite often few years back was Indonesia, then did stay there for about a month too till I ask my friends to bring me around the whole city and went for food hunting. Since then, its hard to find nice Indonesian food except Ayem Penyet which is one of my favorite that I find it similar to their local taste.

Not until last week, a dinner was organise here by Lisa and Henry at Terrance Hock Choon that a newly build up area that operate not that long located at Jalan Ampang, which is a conversion of an old building to a few combination of restaurant that serve fine dining with a classic old building that provide a perfect ambiance to host a romantic dinner, corporate function or even events.

A few restaurant is in this place and what I have been told by my friend that the Japanese Restaurant Fukuharu serve pretty unique menu for the night, as the menu is a board with a limited choices (served fresh ingredient for the day) with chef’s special.

IR stands for Indonesian Restaurant which I got to know that is one of a famous restaurant that visited by many celebrities in Hong Kong and recently had branches a new outlet in Kuala Lumpur.

Through its great history that the restaurant had been founded as early as 1968 by Hudson’s grandfather operating their first outlet in Hong Kong then operate by his dad and now himself, the cuisine is serve with a hint of Chinese mix Indonesian as they are originally from Indonesia and operate in Hong Kong that the taste changes to suit local taste bud.

Let’s head up to the restaurant for a peek before dining. . . It was decorated with a very romantic feel at the ground floor with pale white near transparent curtain hanging around the stair ways and candle light lit all the way up to the restaurant.

I love how the restaurant is decorated by painting black on the walls and ceiling, modern Chinese lantern is place up, filled with ashes wooden chairs and tables.

Lovely couples can be seated seated here, with the place is decorated perfectly with candles, laterns and dim oval, lights placed in between.

Wine range is quite unique.

Decorative item in the restaurant is quite unique too, with animal head in bronsze/

This gives me the memory of a cartoon that you ask for future and past that what is going to happen.

Wow, I was in Melbourne for 3 years and back to Malaysia can’t imagine that I can find nice Indonesian food again. Even thought I went to Jakarta a few times, I still miss the food there, especially Teh Botol…Just love it. At first I hate the taste, taste like crockcoach, eventually just crave for it. It is hard to find nice Indonesian food in KL, well, here is 1 I tried months back but haven’t start blogging and now back for 2nd visit to include in the blog.

This is the drinks that I orderd, from the left are ES Ice Limau and Es Jeruk. The ice limau is like the limau ice we drink at mamak stall, so not really a special drink. Es Jeruk there is a lot of different compare with I drank it in Indonesia. This 1 taste like we go to hypermarket and grab those 1litre of orange and mix it with water. So really taste normal mix juice syrup not like the one in Indonesia they blend it with small tangerine and put a slice of lime. Wow, the taste of that Jeruk is just so refershing. This after you drink, you need to drink water cuz syrup sweet. Will not recommend this 2 drinks and of course Es Teh Sosro (STILL THE BEST)

Well, this is not bad, its like veggie food with muruku if not mistaken. Quite alright.

This will definitely be my favourite is one of their signature food which is Ayam Penyet. The ‘crispyness’ of the chicken is just so crispy when you bite into your mouth can feel ‘crakk’ and definitely you have to eat along with the sambal and stir it with kicap manis a bit. You will just crave for it after you eat it. Highly Recomended for first timer

The seasoning of the chicken and panggang it makes the aroma is so nice. The skin is sweet as I believe season with Kicap Manis and just panggang it till the meat just nice and juicy when you tear the chicken up. Definately you must eat it with a mix of Kicap Manis,a lil or red chili and soy sos. Just makes the whole thing perfect.
