On our last night at Taipei, as we hurried back from our road trip to head for next plan that Tina had book this place for us a few days before it and I am looking forward for Taipei Nightlife as we usually seen in youtube or any media that its so happening.

The public transportation is so convinient that we can take the MRT to the nearest station that heading to Taipei 101 then its about 10 minutes walk from there where the club is nearby the area of Taipei 101.

Pak had took his best dress in his luggage to be the best look for the night, purpose to take many pictures…

This is one of their latest shopping mall with its elegant classic build up.

The busy district of Taipei City for shopping area and nightlife. We reach the area around 10.30pm and the bar is located next to the purple neon light.

In this area they have 4-6 shopping malls link nearby that you can shop freely . . .my next trip, I definately would want to spend more time heere and head to their club!

As what we have been told, Barcode is one of the finest and hottest bar in the area and reservation of a table is a must as its mostly full house during weekend. Barcode is located on the 5th floor on Neo 19 Building which have a side entrance, a lift directly up to the bar.

Remark: to enter this Bar, they have pretty strict dress code, is all guys must wear collar shirt, dress smart! Do call them up to check out more detail on the dress code!

As we were there pretty early, the bar is already all filled in . ..

I just love the interior of the bar, a porch area, read on a few review that the bartender in Barcode served very good cocktails, or they would prepare anything that you ask for you shower you with the best drink.

As late at night, the people already flock the whole area to full house, with many standing at the side. . .

The DJ deck area is pretty cool and dress smart too.

another section that they have pool table for you to chill with your friends and a big screen TV to watch your favourite football match.

Not only that, they have another large indoor balcony area with another DJ playing in it, here is a bit warmer compare to our section and they do have another VVIP area I would say as a big guy bouncer standing infront of the entrance and block me as I do not have another chop. Can’t peek in there too as its block with a door.

The alcohol for the night that they order was Aberldy 12 years old Single Malt Scoth Whisky. The taste wise, I still prefer more on other brands like Glenmorangie, Highland Park and Macallen which is still my all time favourite.

Pak is the happy man for the night with all the leng luis which is Tina and Eva’s friend joining along. . .

As discuss on Day 7, we were offer a day ride on Day 8 as we, could not feel more privillage for this last day trip, but we felt really pai seh to Mary’s auntie and her husband as they purposely took leave then rent a car come down all the way to Taipei City to pick us up then travel to Taipei County to see the Queens Rock and introduce all the places around the area.

As we left Taipei City very early morning 7.30 am to this place with the journey of 1 hour and 30 minutes drive. A cloudy morning could not be even better for us under this hot spell. The journey to Taipei County was a pleasent one when about to reach the area, they sure do have a beautiful scenery.

By travelling to this area Ye Liu Geopark is a famous park and a must visit place. Is a piece of land out from the coast line with formation of the rock form geologically and hoodoos. Admission to the park is NT 50

Satalite view of the coastline. . ..

It was 9am in the area and its getting burning hot. . .Expected temperature for the day was around 38 degree. . .

We really wish to thank Mary’s Auntie and the husband for this wonderfull road trip

Lets head to the main attraction of the area which is the Queen’s Head

Its quite a walk from the main entrance to all the way to the end of the park.

The human compas. . .

This is the famous Queen’s Head, only will get a great view if you look it at certain angel. From the front view, it just look like a normal erode rocks. What we got to know that, this rock is falling apart soon with strong sea breeze and it is just the matter of time and years . .. Just take your chance to visit this place while its still standing tall in there.

After the first visit of the park we head to this great park YICF 2010 which had last been organize 4 years back during the summer time. Now the new local Yilan Goverment had bring this back to life to promote on their local tourist destination area with the theme Yilan International Children’s Folklore and Folkgame Festival. More like a family gateaway during this hot summer time!

In Taiwan, any places is all always about walking, it really give you a good fat burning. From Carpark walk into the main area takes about 5-10 minutes at it is a very big park.

this is the entree free for the festival.

This is how big the park is.. . . we took about 45 minutes to walk 1 whole round and you just imagine how big it is. It covers alot of area and I sure do wish Malaysia do have something like that on seasonal. Sure going to be very fun and a great boost for our local destinations also.

These is what the have for the park with build up a big area with pond and every 1 just get soak wet and great RnB music and dance track played all day long. IT is like a day party. Then on the 3rd picture, its a ghost house in wet version. So tempted to go in but once go in, we all are just going to be very wet coming out as we did not bring any extra clothings.

this is what I mean a family great gateway.. . . Feels so Japan in the summer with white sea of umbrella spreading accross the area.

Then they do have international cultural performance for the kids and parents to participate. This sure going to bond all the family members.

A big bridge walk way for you to overlook the whole park.

I just so love this little cafe. Simple and nicely decorated.

Some local performance along the way.

For kids area, they can dance around with the stage performer, take lots of picture with them. . . or

you can let your kids sit in this section, let them sit down and do some paiting on al this cute handicraft.

Kids zone also have alot of outdoor things to do, with mini flying fox, burst up balloon area, little moutain climbing, and many more.

One of the thing that we are looking forward to after a long stroll at the Aborigines Park in Taiwan(click here), we were told that Tina and Eva had already book a very nice restaurant for dinner which served their specializing hot and spicy Sichuan cuisine.

As I was told by Tina that this famous restaurant chain is own by their famous local celebrity Singer and TV host Lan Xin Mei that can only be found in Taipei District. Tina had book this restaurant few days ahead to ensure we get a place in this restaurant which RESERVATION is a must before you head here.

This building had 3 story and the whole building is fully packed with people. Shows that they do have a serious good business. Their contemporary design with unfancy orangy lighting with wooden and nice chairs to make all of us comfy to dine in the restaurant.

While we were at Sun Moon Lake we saw this great souvenir to get and give to this 2 great new friends Tina and Eva to thank them for spending so much time with us while we are there. We gave them a token of appreciation of NT 1 mil that shared by me and Pak .. .hahaha. . . .

3 of them are just as funny as they are, we had good laughter and crap all the way.

*This post will be alot of pictures

When you are on holiday, time seriously pass very fast and its near to the end of our trip already which is the 7th day now. After relaxing on this wonderfull lake side for the night,(click here) waking up very early today trying to catch the sunrise but unfortunally we didnt manage to do it because it was raining, was very dissapointed, cuz this lake had one of the best sunrise view.

The hotel that we chose comes with a breakfast, and this is the Taiwanese style breakfast with porridge. It is seriously simple and good! I end up having 3 bowls of porridge with this ingredient. Mild in taste which makes it a perfect day to start off with.

For the day – we heading to Taiwan famous Farmosan Aboriginal Cultural Village (九族文化村). It just cost:

Waking up around 7am to get ready had a simple breakfast and head to Taipei Bus Station which is located directly opposite Taipei Main Railway Station.

Our bus ticket to Taichung cost NT150 with around 2 hours bus ride which is pretty cheap compare to our trip from KL to Ipoh.

A double deck bus is used all around Taiwan for safety purposes.

Let me tell you one great thing about Taiwan tourism is that all the destinations that we are heading, the will play the main tourist attraction or place of interest to visit in that final end destination and we sure do have a clear idea where to head to when reach there.

Here we are, after we took a 2 hours power nap and we are in Taichung City. Another big and busy town.

As we were walking away from the main bus station, then at first we wanted to take public transportation, Bus to Sun Moon Lake and realise that the time travel is longer by 1 hour and opted taking taxi by each of us paying NT70 difference and arrive 1 hour earlier which is around NT200 per pax

Hop onto the taxi and heading our way to the beautiful scenic destination.

By reaching our final destination after 3 hours ride, here we are at Sun Moon Lake.

It was the 5th day on our trip (day 4 click here) and we had a slight change of plan in our schedule that we should visit this place, Window of China and all agree to visit this place which located at Taoyuan. Again we had been waking up early every day around 7.30 am to head for new destination and exploration. We took MRT to Zhongli Railway Station, then you can continue by Hsinchu Bus (bound for Leofoo Village & Window on China Theme Park) to the park but we have opted pre-arrange cab to pick us up at the train station to Window on China with total journey around 1 n half hour from Taipei Main Station. Another option you can go is by taking a high speed rail bullet train from Taipei to Taoyuan station.

The taxi guy is very very friendly, telling us all about Taiwan and what are other places of interest to go. After a few days here, I find that most of them are very friendly yet very informative. A good way for Taxi to promote their local destinations also.

Not long after that, we reached Window on China Theme Park and there are alot of cars going in as the school holiday just started. Most of the family would want to bring their children here, as not only you get to see minature building most of northen Taiwan but also there are a theme park in it. In the Theme Park also have the tallest fume ride with 12th story high, Taiwan’s first 360 degree spinning “Rocking Boat, and many more. (click here for details)

For Entry it cost NT499 each which you can check it out more at this website Taiwan Themepark

They are so cute that dress in Doraemon in the theme park world and if you do follow the comic. . .

You can buy the mini helicopter hair band to fly around the park . .:D

When we reach, a cultural dance is going on in Taiwanese Art Folk Center.

Then we walked in to the world of Xiau Ren Guo which is the other meaning of Window on China.

you can see how minature the building is. Most of them are all the historical building build around the world.

#Window on China 4

Before we head to the theme park, this caught us by surprise that we did not know there is another famous cartoon character, Doraemon World is in this park too. Let me bring you through the famous teleport door to a glimpse of the world..

Overall I find that, the only main attraction that attract me very much is the Doraemon World, I would recommend to go other places of interest if you do have the time as there is nothing much to see, or maybe I went to the Shenzen Window of China before which is much bigger and nicer that makes me think like that.

Let’s start off on what I eat for dinner on the 5th day as we did some travelling around and last place to visit was this area called Wufenpu which is actually a shopping paradise for ladies. Seriously please bring a lot of cash to this area, credit card machines in the shop are kinda hard to find.

We were shopping till hungry and we were introduce to this shop located across the street Farmosa Chang which is a restaurant more similar like a fast food chain that their food are serve pretty instantly. It is now become one of the franchise restaurant booming up in Taiwan and slowly penetrating oversea market.

The place is decorated with wooden tables, wooden plaque of menu, marble flooring that makes the place simple and nice.

Me having a hard time to decide what to eat cuz the menu is in chinese and I only can look at the pictures point and point.

If you are in Taiwan, and you love street food or some street shopping and enjoy bargaining then, there is one place that you must not miss. It is not only famous to tourist but also locals, most of the time, this night market is sardine packed with people and if you do go there during their summer break or school holiday you can just expect to be push around. Shilin Market is one of the biggest and most famous night market in Taipei District. Easy access from public transportation that you can stop by at Shilin Night Market Station and the night market is located just opposite it.

This is one of the biggest junction that I have came accross. Lets start off with our very first food hunting. Please be aware that this post involves alot of food and drinks that might harm your eye sight and make a lil damage on your stomach.

Fish ball and fried squid for that kind of size, guess how much you have to pay? Its chewy, very cripsy from the outside.

Then we got introduce that there is one of the best fried chicken among so many stalls in this area which is stall no 5+. Once you walked into this big food market you will see a long que and that would certainly be the fried chicken stall.

Nono and Jennifer were helping us to be in the line while we were busy taking pictures. It took us about 15 minutes wait because the people in the line just do not buy one, at least 3 pcs per pax.

For such a huge piece of crispy fried chicken it cost only NT50

After buy it, we were brought inside the food market and I got shock to see how many food stalls are there cramping in this area. So pack and so many food to see. That makes it more than 500 food stalls around this area itself which have not include the main shopping streets of Shilin streets there.

We were brought to stall 441 which is recommended by Mary’s brother and his friend that this stall serve good Fried Oyster or ‘Oh Jian’

Besides selling that, they also do have smelly/sticky taufu available in fried or spicy soup version.

Spicy soup version.

Fried version.

Fried oyster here is certainly different from what we have in Malaysia but its something similar. Ours will taste abit jelly’ish but theirs is more on beaten egg that pours on top of the hot plate, fried and wraps it.

The main difference is that they do add on sauce on top of the Fried Oyster. The sauce turns out to be good, spicy, smooth in texture with a bit of lime sour eat along with the smooth fried oyster is something I do not mind to have the whole plate alone.

Oyster in there are moderate in size but for the price we are paying, we consider it cheap. One plate for around NT50 which have at least 6-7 oyster.

On the fourth day, we woke up very early again and can just feel the heat start to burn on our skin and knowing it going to be another hot day. Having breakfast on the go and heading to Taipei Main Station to visit this wonderfull place Jiufen that most of my friend its a MUST go place if you are in Taiwan. We are heading there with a group of new friends which most of them are Indonesians but studying there for quite some time arleady.

They seriously have a huge big station compare to our mini KTM station which is half dead also or KL Central which I presume something similiar but very far behind with the user friendly access and really Main station compare to ours.

With varieties of train available from the olden steam train to the modern bullet train for you to choose from and the schedule and time line very accurate. Having fast and efficient people working in the counter, we didnt wait for long to get our tickets even though there are quite number of people as that was the first day of the high school holiday. So there are alot of people heading other province.

The ticket is also very classic feels like the time I ride in the bus when I was a kid with a punch hole from the bus attendent.

After our Taiwan Story Land stop by, next destination which is Ximending which is a must go place for all teenagers and young adults if you love shopping. A place which is colourfully light up and surely looks like one of the best place to be. This place is seriously huge with many streets to walk around. One thing you just need to prepare which is money!

Ximending has been called the “Harajuku of Taipei” and the “Shibuya of Taipei”. Ximending is the source of Taiwan’s fashion, subculture, and Japanese culture. This area is in the northeastern part of Wanhua District in Taipei and it is also the most important consumer district in the Western District of Taipei. The well-known Ximending Pedestrian Area was the first pedestrian area built in Taipei and is the largest in Taiwan. (source from Wikipedia)

Ximending also can be easily access by the MRT that’s stops at Ximending station which is located directly in front of the place itself.

This place is just flock by alot of young people and you wont feel old at all.

I have been told by a lot of my friends that travel here so far and if do drop by this place, once of the food shop that I must visit is this Ay-Chung Flour Rice Noodle that had been establish since 1975 and had become a trend.

This shop is located directly infront of Addidas and Nike Boutique and its hard for you to find a place to sit down and the only place you can sit is on the floor, or the plastic chairs which is available or stand.

I have never seen this guy stop his work and the que is consistant with people eat in and take away.

Sauces to add on are the Vinegar, Garlic and Chili.

It would taste much better if you add all of the sauces. One Small bowl cost NT40.

You can eat it either stand or squatting down.

I just love the texture of the noodle which is silky smooth, and the base is thick that near to gummy side. The best part is, instead of using Oyster they are using Pig Intestine that had been cook so soft to chew it like fish meat. Taste of chili and garlic just add in the extra kick in it, just beware the chili is quite spicy. By the time I finish my cup of Mee Sua we are all drench in sweat. Recommended stop for food.
