Hennessy Launches Renewal of Hope for this year of Rat 2020. A kick start of Chinese New Year with a renowned Chinese artist, Zhang Huan, to honour the beauty of nature’s perpetual cycles of renewal through distinctive artwork portraying the brand’s eaux-de-vie as a metaphor for the New Year. The event took place at Plaza Arkadia, Desa Park City.

Titled “Spheres of Hope”, the artwork – which will be featured throughout the campaign and on limited edition bottles specially designed for this New Year season – takes the form of a resonant dreamscape which exudes glittering radiance and a masterful interpretation of the infinite cycle of nature.

“Every year, the world’s cities shine with red lanterns celebrating the start of the Lunar New Year. It is a celebration of promising new beginnings and of a perpetual movement that Hennessy embraces generously. This is what we wanted to embody in this especially meaningful celebration. It exudes glittering radiance and a masterful interpretation of this infinite cycle of nature,” explained Thomas Bouleuc, Managing Director of MHD Malaysia.

For this launch, Hennessy also collaborated with renowned Malaysian landscape designer Lim In Chong, popularly known as Inch, to create the “Garden of Hope”. The tree installation, specially designed and built by Inch for Hennessy, is a realisation of twelve trees, holding individual coloured spheres inspired by shades of Zhang Huan’s artwork.

Ushering in the New Year with Yam Seng, a Chinese Tradition

Visitors to Plaza Arkadia will be able to experience both Zhang Huan’s artwork and the “Garden of Hope” throughout the campaign duration, which will end on 8 February 2020. Huan’s artworks will also feature on Hennessy’s promotions and publicity throughout the campaign and on a microsite specially developed by Hennessy for the festivities.

At the microsite, users can find out more about the ongoing events, create their own New Year greetings to share on social media with friends, and play games to collect Kam points. With these points, users can redeem exclusive Hennessy bottles, free dinners and free drinks at participating restaurants and clubs.

The “Renewal of Hope” will also take on another benevolent facet which will see Hennessy fulfilling the hopes of eight people in the New Year – one from each of eight different categories – health, wealth, relationships, career, self, business, home and travel. In the true spirit of giving back, Hennessy has specially curated a gift for each category, which will amount to a total giveaway worth RM38,888. A lion dance performance to usher in luck for the Year of the Rat at the Tiger CNY media launch at Pavilion KL

Guests mingled at the Tiger HUAT HUAT Bazaar before the event kicked off with a mesmerizing lion dance performance that ignited auspiciousness – the lions of different colours represented the brands in the HEINEKEN Malaysia portfolio.  With festive spirits at an all-time high, Roland Bala, Managing Director of HEINEKEN Malaysia, unveiled the grand, gilded 88 sculpture, officiating the beginning of Tiger Beer’s Chinese New Year campaign for the Year of the Rat. The event continued with a special performance by Tiger – Sin Chew Chinese Education Charity Concert (CECC) artists, delighting guests.

Guests were then treated to a surprise performance as local singer-songwriter Namewee took to the stage as part of the big reveal, performing a selection of his popular songs – including his new Chinese New Year track, “Year of Rat” – created in collaboration with Tiger Beer. For something slightly healthy.  I personally prefer the Seaweed Soycrips more than the Soycrips Original @ RM 8 per pack. Just that the seaweed taste is more to my liking that the slightly plain fragrant taste. It is also down to your personal taste bud as my parents like the original more.

Something more flavourful isthis Whale brand : Keropok Ikan Onion Garlic and Keropok Ikan BBQ @ RM 5 pack each. Both are equally good as I enjoyed it over my Christmas session with friends over beer. I like the Keropok ikan onion garlic as I prefer it more to my taste bud, as for bbq flavour, my mind just bends towards more on chips side.

When it comes with pineapple tart it is a very subjective taste. Some like crispy fragrant crust some like it soft. However HomeBis Pineapple Tart @RM 40 is in between. Plus, we also got a sneak peek into their “PHYGITAL” features include e-wallet function, borderless payment, smart logistics and digital content marketing such as live streaming by influencers.

Also announcing the partnership of JD.comChina’s leading one-stop e-commerce platform – has teamed up with Presto, a local social marketing application to form an exhilarating partnership – JDX Presto Concept Store. The store is not only cashless but it is also staffless and borderless. That makes the largest online-to-offline experience store in Malaysia. Plus, E-Sport Center is also settling in with a “phygital” gaming store while UniKL introduces industry exposure projects dedicated to business students.

He presented a staggering statistic that showed a 250 per cent higher purchase rate when retailers engage customers with at least three or more channels; it reaffirms the importance of consistent customer experience and marketing across multiple touchpoints in guaranteeing a higher revenue.
They further confirmed that the future of retail needs to promote intimate social relationships between brands, both international and local, with consumers by building a physical space that is customer experience-centric.
While, Mr Kent Lee, The Founder of Smuzcity presented The Rise of Borderless Retail. Nowadays, brands can sell their products across the border seamlessly. Smuzcity is the official business development partner of JD Logistic Group.

It is nice that often see trade ties between regions and countries that link all food produce moving around, so that we get to enjoy great food from chef. Imba Gala Italia 2019 that took place at Westin Hotel at KL is an event that bring closer ties between trade businesses with Italy.

The wines are pretty amazing and my personal preference among the 4 bottles are White – Estro Astoria and Red will be Empirio. Nice body and easy to pair with food on both of the one that I like. White is certaily a conversation drink with cheese will be the best companion.

Chicken Confit with Foie Gras Terrine – Figs and Balsamic Compote, micro and salad homeade pan broiche.

very unique dish as the chicken confit and foie gras blends very well. Chicken confit is soft and moist, take a bit of the fig and balsamic compote to put on top and take it in a bite together, you get a harmonios flavour that did not over power each other.

This is one of the best risotto that I come across. Cooked perfectly as how I was thought to enjoy this. the grains was cook till half cook texture that gives you a nice bite with a feeling is this cooked. with hint of cheese after taste that brings up the slightly saltiness that it need and the mild sweetness from the stock that they have prepared. Paired with their white wine is a match in heaven.

Cooked to perfection that it is medium rare, and the jus is perfect. Clear with fragrant that lift the meat a nice balance flavour. I pair it with Monte Antier red wine, as love the smooth finishing after that.
