The task of trying out a few eat all you can Tim Sum with Jonathan had comes to a satisfaction meal. We have been hunting for quite a number till I banned from going to eat tim sum as got phobia of it not until got persuaded to try out the very last one. (today will be a simple post, as with my work load is pilling up.)

Opulent Court

Opulent Court (2)

Never thought that the restaurant here would be decorated so nice but we were lucky on that day as on the night itself, they are hosting a wedding dinner but the best part is, we were there at 11.30am and till 12.30pm we were still the only table there, makes us feel like so boss (book out the whole place).

Opulent Court (3)

With their offering in the menu, it looks pretty impressive with the whole long list and range that they are offering at the price of RM27.80nett.

I guess it was a season of eat all you can. Jonathan had been looking at a few promotional brochure and keep mentioning this place for quite a while as previously I kept rejecting him cuz I was a bit phobia on tim sum. Eat a few times in a week could scared you off a little but he kept mentioning that its worth 1..you see you see.. very nice eh, so the arrangement was on Friday and we went with the 4 K’s and a few more.

I was having a hard time on taking the pictures as the light there is quite orangy and after taking a few I gave up with the rest of pictures. This would be a summerize posting as I am quite tied up with work load today. sorry for the simlified version.

The best thing is, you don have to travel to China to get to enjoy China tim sum, with a very well decorated China concept restaurant, which I was impress on it really gives you the kind of ‘umph’ that this would be the right place.

Welcoming you to the world of China. Its the entrance of the restaurant.

With an artistic kind of crafting art on the entrance wall had make you feel you are like in that country.

A 2 crafted big dragon circling the wall to makes the place with a great ambiance. With the waiter and waitress dress in traditional clothing that adds on the feel of it.

The dragon pillar which reminds me of the comic Dragon ball. lol~

A classic changing board place for women back in those days but with lubang lubang like dat, heee, the advantage is there. :p

The open kitchen concept.

For the first round of tim sum, we filled up our table with the available choice.

The foods here taste not bad with the price we are paying. With RM22++, Monday to Friday Lunch (I mistakenly put wrong pricing as previously I put RM16++) for a lunch buffet I didn’t put any high expectations, but one hell of the things happen.

I have been to quite a number of a restaurant, and this would be the WORST service hotel restaurant I ever went.

1st the tim sum for 2nd round we have to wait for 30 minutes at least on that day. Then we complain why is it like that, then what one of the guy manager told us they did not expect so much crowd and we just have to wait. With his way of talking and attitude had spark the fire of K and then one of the K complain you should prepare a lot what, since this is eat all you can buffet lunch. Then scold till the manager face change colour. One of the Auntie that push the cart also same case.

2nd was when the cart came out, the took the food to the same table 3 times, then start to piss us off till another K shouted ‘aunnnnttttiiiieeeeeee…. Where is our tim sum? So long still never come?’ with a lot of people staring at us, we don give a damm. Then they gave us a few baskets. Then shouted again, push the whole bloody cart here!! Is because they keep serving that first table like they were the VIP or Dato or whatever we just do not care. We just want our food as we don have that much time.

Then complain again, why is this happening. The manager was speechless and another lady manager(if not mistaken) which is much more polite and explain to us and we complain about that guy manager.

The food here is actually quite nice, for a normal serving type of tim sum. The things that I love the most or you should not miss are the ‘Polo Bun’. I took 4 of it.

Thought of eating Dim Sum for the past few days, then did a research on where to eat. Then finally book one of the restaurant at Renaissance Hotel for its buffet dim sum which quite a number of good review on that. Then suddenly 2 days b4 the eating spree my friend called me up got something cheaper ah..
Then again go do some research and come across this eat all you can buffet which is at Li Jin Restaurant at Pavilion.
When we reach there around 11.15 am there were quite alot ppl waiting outside. Then I went to go ask the lady for the reservation name and she said I have to wait till 11.30 am to be serve. Then never care and just stand outside and chat with my friends.

Why this restaurant was because they give such a promo which under my friends budget RM20.80++ for eat all you can which most of them agreed and good thing was included weekends. Went to this eating spree with 10 ppl. They have 2 session for this which is the first batch is 10.30 am – 12.30 am and 12.30 am – 2.30 pm. We thought of going for the 2nd session as Brunch. 😀

While on the way walking in, they have the open concept of the open kitchen and as always the way steaming the tim sum always look tempting. The taste of it NO IDEA.

As I read a few food blogger, they mention that the roast duck here is highly recommended but never find a review on the tim sum. Will go hunt for its duck next visit~

They have quite a classy interior from inside out. Sure a pretty nice place to dine for tim sum with such a pricing.

While we were seated and this is the first cart that reach our place. We were very hungry as previous nite drank too much and today a bit hang over.. so just hantam what we can. So told the lady, everything 2 in our table.

Including this cart.
After took all the tim sum we need and me as always hungry as ever and go look around what I can curi. So found this area, with fried noodle and fried rice.
The ‘Fried Noodle’, is nice with the ‘wok’ taste is there and wasnt being too salty. A good dish to start off with
The ‘Fried Rice’ which is feel it taste much better than the noodle, as it is still warm compare to the noodle, and the best part is they are being pretty generous that alot of chinese sausage in there which makes the taste alot better.
Maybe I was still abit hang hang dei, and what ever I eat also nice.
Then the next area spotted next to it was ‘Century Porridge’ on the right, which I feel that the chuk is pretty dry up by putting into the slow cooker too long. Its a bit sticky whereby you throw it on the fly that fly over can even stick on the wall.
Next to it is theFu Chuk didnt manage to eat that cuz thought of leaving that for the last dish and ended up forgot to take.
This was the appetiser in front of the table. The very first infront of the pic I do not know what is that called but it taste sour and cold. Never really like it. The one of the right is call Leng Ngau(hokkien)suddenly forgot what its called in english. Taste not bad. Acceptable for me, which is cold, a bit salty and crunchy to its freshnesss and the one of the top left also do not know call what is it as what I know is to put all this in my mouth and taste it. It is cold dish also, a bit spicy and sour. Not my cup of tea.
So start my eating spree with this Siew Mai’ which is warm in the basket and yit lat lat.. so throw one into my mouth and feel like the siew mai is just out from the fridge and went into stim. The compactness is there but just taste normal.
Next is the Fung Chau aka Chicken Leg’ which I feel it taste weird. The skin taste like eating raw of its skin and a bit sticky too. After eating this plate,me and my friends never wanted for 2nd one.
Next is the Har Gau which is not really big in size. The prawn is not really big and the meat in there is okay and the skin is not too thick. Nothing taste special about this like some of other normal kopitiam style you can get.
Follow by my favourite ‘Char Siew Pau that will never miss in my tim sum eating spree. But dissapointedly, the feeling that it give me was the pau feels like not properly stim which the other side is hot and the skin is peeling and the other side is like just ngam ngam. The taste of it, don really like the sauce and the mince meet in there not small enough.
From top left to right:

Fish Ball
: Not a fan of that but just don taste nice.

Pai
Kuat
: Just taste so so, as its quite oily and the fats in the meat is too much.
The one on the bottom left taste nice, the skin is a bit crispy and the filling in there mix with chili sauce just ngam ngam nice to put into mouth
Siew Mai: which is another version from the up one, and thinks that this 1 taste much better. The compactness of the meat is there, and the feeling of eating char siew although not the best but no comment.
When the cart came by with this ‘Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun’ then also ask for 2 each. Compare this 2, the prawn 1 taste much nicer compare to the char siew. The char siew the piece of meat is there and the taste is just not there. Feels like missing something in it and we cant really get what it lacked off. For the prawns, it taste better as the taste had mix in with the cheong fun. Eating with the chili given is an extra.

Loh
Pak Kou
: one of the dish which I feel its nice there, its soft, with a bit of peanut fragrance and ngam ngam pan fried it.
the one on the top right, taste so so only, as fried to perfection but I feel like eating more flour than eating the base.
ThePopiah fried too long and its too crispy which makes it a bit hard to bite. Nothing special.
The Crabstick I would called it. Taste not bad, fried to perfection and the filling in there carries the tatse of the crab. Eat with mayo would be nice.
The best part of all I have been waiting and we ate till around 2.30 already. As we chatted the whole way through more than eating. Of course the deserts. The one of the top left do not know what is nice but one of the girl that serve our table, she keeps coming back happily to serve us and told me that since I like to eat desert as I keep asking her, then she bring me this.
Seriously, it taste very very very nice, inside is filled with some duck salty egg, abit of jagung taste, its soft on the outside and hot on the inside and its my recommendation for this dish over here.
As I read the review of the ‘Egg Tart’ not to be miss, which I feel it taste okay as the crust is crispy, the middle cream of it is to sweet and nice. The filling in it is just ngam ngam never too much nor too little.

The last one, taste pretty good also as it is filled with a bit kaya and ended up I wanted to request for more they told me its already finish and pass me the last 1 pack of it. SO DOWN. At the end of the meal onli get to know eat nice nice food.

After eating everything and ready to go surely we ask for our bill. The bills come out to a total of RM29 per pax which we were like har..y so ex and saw in the menu, like HK ppl doing business, added up the 3 cold dish in front of us cost RM5 each, then the towel, the tea and some other little bits and piece. Found it quite expensive for around RM29 each with the food quality and rather add some extra money to go Renaissance and enjoy the food but never try never know. Wont be considering going back at the moment.

It was the weekend that most of us are anticipating for, a gathering after Chinese New Year for all of us to get to know the rest of the people in the organisation. Booked the entire place just for us only. First time dine in Westine Hotel Buffett style.
The restaurant had a nice interior whereby you get to choose in the center area which is a bit more relaxing, with sofa’s around the area, and a high ceiling till you can see what is on the 3rd floor hallway. We ended up picking on the back area, brighter and a place looks like you can just sit and chat there whole night.

This is one of the fish that had been served, do not know what fish but it is very fresh as the meat is very soft.

This is one of the salad bar. Women’s favourite.

Salad Bar 2.

This is one of the Shasimi bar.
This is the Lok Lok bar.
The sandwich bar. Something like Subway, you can just choose the kind of bread you want, toasted or not to be toasted and the toppings and fillings that you want. As my all time favourite, the croissant.
One of my favourite area for the whole night, the desert bar. Variety of cakes, pudding, jelly’s and chocolates. Can’t really recall back which is nice and not nice, as I tried every bits of it and shared with the rest.
The Ice Cream Bar. Looks tempting but the Ice Cream does not taste good. Nice to see, not nice to eat.
The topping area for your ice cream. With Blue berry and strawberry syrup, peanuts flakes and cherry.
It has been ages since I last saw ‘Tabung Uji‘ uniquely they filled it with dark and white chocolates.
A wall of chocolates for you to hunt, the chocolate is just so nice, yet some are juicy as it was filled with some sauce, you bite, it melt and spurt in your mouth. The best chocolate corner.
A chocolate fondue tower, as I called it Desert Lok Lok style. I was just standing there pok the fruits, marshmallow, and short bread, dip and bite. So satisfying until my friend came, WOI!!! you geli la… you dip like that other ppl no need to eat liau la~ lol. I dip only once, and the whole thing is in my mouth, I always use new stick. Hygiene ma~
Wohooo~ the best corner of all, free flow of beer all night long.
This is what I took for myself,
The left is the pumpkin and tomyam gong soup. The pumpkin tasted so so only as it was quite thick in the taste. The tomyam gong is disappointing, taste more like clear soup.
My personal Lok Lok corner. Every stick of what is inside that area except beef.
This is the main course food. The food is so so only.
The best of all, as I always take sandwich with my own personal custom made filled with turkey ham, tuna, egg, cabbage, tomato, cucumber, mayo and mustard sauce.
The little Asian delight that they have, Kaya Kuih(damm nice), chocolate popiah, apple struddle and cupcake(not nice)
wahhahha..This is my personal customise pancake. 1 sided filled with chocolate and the other side with Blueberry sauce and the other side with strawberry sauce. Very very nice.
This is what I mean by my lok lok style, standing there and dip.Wakkakaka. as what we did on the road side except cannot stand with kaki kang kang and head front like giraffe which we scared that the sauce will drop on our clothing.
Well, it was a very interesting night, as get to know more people within the organisation.
