Japanese Roasted Sesame Rice Bowl @ RM 5.80 Crunchy chicken tenders with roasted sesame dressing, served over diced tomatoes, onions, shredded lettuce and fluffy fragrant rice.

Spicy Korean Bowl @ RM 5.80 Chunky chicken tenders, drizzled with sweet and spicy sauce and sesame seeds. Layered on top of diced tomato, shredded lettuce and fluffy fragrant rice.

Out of my expectation, rice are pretty good for the kind of price that they are offering. At RM 5.80 per bowl, I certainly I have no complain over it. Among the 2, Spicy Korean bowl will be my prefer option as gives me the hint of spiciness that I like. Japanese rice is not bad too as it is slightly more creamy from the sesame sauce.

Spicy Thai Porridge @ RM 5.30 Warm porridge with tender chicken chunks, topped with crispy tomyum flavoured potato flakes

Chicken Porridge @ RM 5.30 Tender chicken chunks, garnish with sesame oil, spring onions, crispy fried onions and thinly sliced chilli. This turn out to be better than what we expected. For a chain to offer a bowl of pippin hot porridge, is quite good. This was the first bowl to finish.

Japanese Mash Bowl @ RM 3.80 Chicken tenders topped with roasted sesame dressing and spring onions.

Spicy Korean Mash Bowl @ RM 3.80 Chunky chicken tenders, with sweet and spicy sauce. Drizzled with mayo and sesame seed stop a bed of creamy mash.

Big Blind is one or the only bar in Ardence Lab, Setia Alam, Shah Alam. Sitting on a different section of property segment that marks them a great hang out spot. A bar that have open seating area that over look on the lake that give you a great relax moment while sipping your beer.

Ardence Lab in Setia Alam seems like one of a upcoming place to be, or I put it as like another upcoming Desa park City concept. Lush green and lakes, with expensive properties surrounding it.

Pizza is not too bad. Golden Coin Pizza  @ RM 29.90 – tomato paste, gold coin pork slice, grated mozaralla cheese and herbs. With the amount of ingredient and that they have and to pair along with beer, would be a great companion.

Heard so much about Grub by AHong at Seksyen 17 from my friends and finally decided to swing by here for my friends birthday to try it out on January. This restaurant can walk from Happy Mansion if you park there as there is a ladder leads towards this section.

Menu wise is pretty straight forward as it is only a 2 pages thing.

There are 2 area you can be seated which is the ground floor without air conditioning and you  get to smell what is all the nice food which is cooking. Upstairs which is air conditioned but could be slightly  noisy as it is quite a small space and conversation echoed.

I think we ordered nearly half of the menu and I was late, there area a few dishes that I have missed. Starting off with :

This is pretty good. The chicken is fried to perfection, very fragrant with mild herbs its own marination and love the taste of nice salty end. Kinda Small to me though.

Local Seafood Bouillabaisse @ RM 25, fish, squid, prawns in lightly spied seafood soup pasta and sourdough. Gravy is decent, love the pasta which is similiar to angle hair.

then we ordered second plate for this and the taste is slightly off compare to the first order. Ended up did not finish it.

First piece of steak Ribeye King of Cuts @ RM 59 was just decent as some of the cut were to tough as prefer their wagyu on our second order.

this is good. Mushroom with homemade pastry and this will just keep you digging into it.

Beef Ragu Macaroni @ RM 16.50

Pasta is not too bad as after you had the first few days and you find it the rest which is quite similiar cuz of the base stock that they are using. Both inbetween the visual is the same but different pasta.

Linguine Silican Style @ RM 16.50 – mushroom tossed in light tomato capers sauce with grand padano.

This is perfect as the wagyu Ribyeye (marble 5) @ RM 145  is perfect with their unique side of potato salad and Jambu Ulam., mild fatty to my liking, with their house special sauce.

In the end, this is their complementary eye drop fruit platter. They must have crafted out alot of this if every table were to have one of it.

Cakes are pretty good though, as I like the peanut butter cake and the chocolate mud pie is a bomb if you are a heavy chocolate lover.

Grub by Ahong is a decent place for dinner and would fall into my recommended list too as I were here for at least 4-5 times over past few months but their food quality is abit inconsistent. Just do bare that in mind.

Festive mood is getting near, and afternoon tea is a classic norm for alot ladies. For Majestic, they are doing it different as for month of December, they are organizing “Gentleman’s Hi Tea” .
To dedicate this festive season to the incredible talent of the world’s most famous entertainers – Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford, better known as The Rat Pack, this Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea is launched.

A very unique combination that I rarely see. From western to classic Chinese soup that comes out as Cream of Watercress Soup with Lobster Meat. Lobster meat is poached perfectly.

Christmas meal a must have item is Roasted Sliced Whole Turkey serve with  Cranberry Sauce, Stuffed Chestnut and Buttered Vegetables. Their house wine is pretty good too. Floral and fruity to hit on a easy pairing.

Indeed Malaysian is spoilt of choices when it comes to food. Many of foodie mention Sapore is a hidden gem in Ampang. Alright what is Sapore? Sapore, means “flavour” in Italian also tag with an interesting slogan “Serving you Artisan Food and Fine Wine”. A restaurant that serve serving authentic Italian and Spanish-Mediterranean cuisine lead by Chef Fabio Ruggiero, who originates from Bari in Italy. It is hidden right behind the busy street of Jalan Ampang fly over bridge.

Every diners are serve with free entry of fresh and artisanally-made Focaccia. Any order is @ RM 5. Fragrant, soft and airy. Perfect to dip with their olive vinegar.

To those of you who have wine on your table or hand – Antipasti Tagliere for Sharing @ RM 88 is one of a platter are encourage to order as it is serve with mixture of Chorinzo Pork Sausage, Salchichon Spanish Sausage, Parma Ham, Capocollo Salami, Porchetta Pork Roast, Rillettes, and pickled vegetables. Fresh cut, love the variety of different texture and taste and if could have a white wine and red wine to go along is perfect!

This is rather interesting, as they serve this 1.1 kg Dry-Aged T-Bone Grain-Feed with Sea Salt Fiorentina Style, @ RM 238 – Served with Potato and Rucola Salad.

Spanish Sangria served with assorted fruits and red wine that go thru some fermentation process. If you love the slight pungent taste of classic sangria, you can order a glass to try it out. I like the taste of slight bitterness and dry end of it where the alcohol taste is minimal.

There are no 3 little pigs walking around. If yes there might left two as one on the table.

The Roasted suckling pig porchetta (Half : RM 198 / Full: RM 368) was one of the chef signatures and a must to try. Pig is roast to perfection where the skin is shiny and crispy. Bath with fragrant oil and thyme and a glass of their house white is not too bad too.

Comes with 4 sauces pairing. Personal favourite is the apple vinegar sauce and bbq.

Some of you might find this boring, as I find it a bit classic. Pici Pasta – served to together with porcini mushrooms and pork bolognese sauce, simple pasta but love the thickness of the pasta noodle that gives you the chewy texture.

This dish, a red wine would be perfect. Either Shiraz or a dry red. Cook to perfection for medium rare, where it is still red. The marination is perfect where a taste of mixture herbs is well balance and saltiness of seasalt is not overpowering. It is great sharing portion.

Panna Cotta @ RM 12 , along with Cake of the Day and Vanilla Creme Brulee will be my personal choice if were to order a dessert.

Proof Pizza + Wine is my final piece of eatery in order to complete my list in there at APW Bangsar KL Decided to pay them a visit after a while after heard some good feedback about them.

Eatery in here is indeed in small scale but it is indeed very nice. The only set back for Proof is that, the wood fire smell is very strong in the whole restaurant. After you come out from the place, you indeed smells like you are the chef.

Since there are two of us and my friend celebrating my birthday lunch, so we had it simple. 1 Starter, 1 pizza and a bottle of nice wine to kicks in.

Starter – Pear & Mesclun – pomegranate, feta cheese, toasted pecans, honey lemon lavender dressing @ RM 25 . Very simple salad that make it to perfection. With crunch everybite and hint of nice aroma of lavender honey is just perfect.

Ordered one of their signature – Umbrian – Black Truffle Pizza @ RM 35 (8 inch) – mixed mushroom, black truffle paste, taleggio. Looks small but the aroma of truffle trailing the air is amazing. Not too strong but nice enough to entice your taste bud. Love the oozing soft cheese and indeed a perfect bite. Finish the whole slice myself.

Indeed it is a nice pizza place if you do not mind to dig into your pocket slightly deeper. Great range of wine selection.
