I am certainly a big fan of Mala but never knew that it will be incorporated into fast food. Marrybrown have take a notch up by introducing their new special menu. Mala-Tup Ayam Goreng. I have tried it and it is indeed impressive for people whom have not tried Mala before.

This limited time menu comes in 4 options :

  1. Ayam Goreng Mala 2pcs Combo =  Harga dari RM 15.90
  2. Ayam Goreng Mala 3pcs Combo = Harga dari RM 18.80
  3. Bubur Ayam Mala-tup Combo = Harga dari RM 14.60
  4. Mala-tup Box Meal =  Harga dari RM 22.60

My personal preference will be 2 pieces of Malatup Chicken and best if they can have fries added into the Malatup chicken set. Then it would be perfect!

Those of you never try before, I would advise to hit on 2 pieces of chicken. The taste of the Mala is very mild, a bit of mild spicy and mild numb after taste (it wont happen during the first 2 bites but after you finish the first piece of chicken). Some of you might feel it immediately especially for first timer.

chicken no doubt is fried to perfection. Crispy inside out and chicken meat is juicy.

This is the Mala-tup Box Meal =  Harga dari RM 22.60 You get fries, onion rings, a chicken burger, 1 piece of mala-tup chicken and coleslaw.

This box is good enough to ko me for my brunch till dinner. quite filling but I am in love with the Mele-tup frieds. If they do sell it separately. Go for it!

Another interesting combination is their Bubur Ayam Mala-tup. turns out to be better than expected. A nice mix hit of spicy, hot porridge  alot of crispy bites and of course the chicken add nice bites to it!

Best advise to dine there to get the best experience of the chicken or consume within 15 minutes after take away. I did take away as 35 minutes when I reach home, the chicken is not as good as I am eating there.

Marrybrown SOS BBQ Series

Since I have encounter with our very own local homegrown brand Marrybrown, I personally find that they have gotten so much better with their seasonal menu. With the last launch of Marrybrown Salted Egg Yolk which is so good and now, with their latest seasonal Marrybrown SOS BBQ Series.

This SOS with a mission to satisfy the taste buds of millions of Malaysians with their delicious Sensasi Ohsem Smokey (S.O.S) BBQ Meals from 21 August till 5 October 2020!

These come in three different combo selections. You may opt with:

  1. S.O.S BBQ Burger combo meal
  2. S.O.S BBQ Drumette combo meal
  3. S.O.S BBQ Box combo meal (S.O.S BBQ Burger, S.O.S BBQ Drumette with the well-loved MB Crispy Chicken, and Potato Wedges.)

Combo’s come with Potato Wedges, crispy Onion Rings and a glass of soft drink.

After tried the 3 combinations, I got a bit greedy and my personal recommendation is the S.O.S BBQ Box combo meal (S.O.S BBQ Burger, S.O.S BBQ Drumette with the well-loved MB Crispy Chicken, and Potato Wedges.). The box have all the meat that I want. Just a perfect combo box!

If you think that you would just want to try this BBQ SOS series out, then my recommendation will be S.O.S BBQ Drumette combo meal. You will be surprised with the flavour as I do. Never thought that I would get hook to the flavour. Love the mild smoky bbq aroma taste which is not too overpowering. Drumlets are fried to perfection, with sos sauce well coated onto the chicken. Do not need any sauce as 1 drumette per bite is satisfying!

Last is the S.O.S BBQ Burger combo meal. Charcoal bun with juicy fried chicken patty and topped with the sos sauce.

Indeed one of the series that caught off my attention for its taste. Loving it. You guys should give it a try too. I enjoy my meal at Marrybrown Citta Mall.

Marrybrown Salted Egg Meal is BACK!!!

Slowly I am turning into a fan of Marrybrown. A local brand that had been in our market since 1981. To surprise you, they have 500 restaurants across 16 countries . The group been growing steadily and getting hyped up over their egg-cited Salted egg yolk series. Carefully curated and R&D over the years had make a huge come back with a slight twist on this new Marybrown Salted Egg Meals.

Available in two options. Diners can hit on their Burger or MB Crispy Chicken coated in tantalizing real Salted Egg sauce!

We were greedy. I hit on for their 3 piece Crispy Chicken Salted Egg and my sister is after their Salted Egg Burger. , For the Salted Egg Ayam meal, it serve along mashed potatoes and vegetable salad. Both orders are serve with generous serving of Marrybrown’s special rich and creamy Salted Egg sauce infused with a dash of spice and aromatic curry leaves for that extra local flavor.

Quite a decent price from RM 15, both combo meals come with a refreshing cup of Heaven and Earth Ice Lemon Tea to quench one’s thirst.

Combo meals can be chosen with 2 piece chicken combo @ RM 15.90 or 3 piece chicken Salted Egg Ayam combo @ RM 18.80. As I heard quite good feedback about this flavours, and I got greedy by ordering 3 pieces of Crispy Chicken Salted Egg.

My sister love their Crispy Chicken Salted Egg Burger from RM 15.90. Serve with a piece of juicy chicken and it is indeed quite good! Do not mind to come back for this next round.

Salted Egg Meals

During MCO I did try on Grab Delivery as my food is usually 30-45 minutes later. Upon arrival the chicken is not that crispy. This round I order in their outlet and the chicken turns out much better than what I have experience. Serve with 3 quite big piece chicken, drench with their salted egg sauce.

Salted Egg Burger

The sauce is thick, fragrant, and punch with flavours. Even I finish the third piece, it do not give me the “too much” kind of salted egg yolk feeling. Indeed egg-stra padu. I do not mind to have a mini sauce tub filled with egg yolk at the side, then it would be perfect.

Bidor Famous Wan Tan Mee @ Restaurant Mee Wah

Last year I was introduce by my friend, as on the way back to KL from Penang, he suggested that we should stop by at his favourite breakfast place. I say, lets do it. Then he turn into Bidor exit. I was like here? Then heading to this Famous Wan Tan Mee at Restaurant Mee Wah in Bidor, which is just about 5-7 minutes drive away from the toll exit.

A place that is pack with locals.  Most of the outstation people do go to another shop – Pun Chun Wan Tan Mee, which I shall blog in another post.

A random pick from a store next to the wan tan mee is this Yong Tau foo. nothing to shout about as the soup is quite simple and clear. The ingredient are freshly fried.

I was told by my friend This famous wan tan mee in this small Bidor Town, Perak had easily been 30 yeas. Currently is helm by second generation.

Indeed the taste of wan tan mee here is different from the one in Penang and KL. The taste is really like in between. I do find it quite interesting. Light fragrant soy, sesame and a bit of sweet end.

No doubt that the highlight will be the wan tan noodle it self. Springy and cook to perfection.

Wan tan is also quite generous. Is about 4 pcs But the price tag at RM 5, for a small town (if I remember correctly) is actually quite expensive. I thought it would be and RM 3.50 – RM 4.50. I am not too sure the living standard here but it could be the standard pricing for this town.

Order Sui Kow as additional. I think the sui kao is better.

I am not sure. Could this be one of the best wan tan mee in bidor? My friend shared that this is his favourite. If you guys do have your favourite place better than this. Do share. Will go hunt next.

New Sweet and Spicy Ayam Goreng MacD and Chocolate Banana Pie

It so happen I wanted to grab double cheese burger for lunch in Mekdi and then saw this new poster in Macdonalds Sweet and Spicy Ayam Goreng MacD and Chocolate Banana Pie. Only realise that this Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken in Macdonalds just launch yesterday on 24th April.

It was random that I decided to do a #mukbang for this. My first video of eating. Thought of give it a try since its been a while since last had it.

To my surprise, turns out to be pretty good. Crispy on the skin even though it is 15 minutes out. Do note that I think if on delviery service like GRAB, food Panda, it might get soggy. So will be depending on your luck.

If you get a chance to eat this there after MCO, do it. I would do it for another round. To test on the crispiness of it.

Worth to give it a try. *thumbs up for this Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken Ayam Goreng Spicy Mcd .

Chocolate Banana Pie in Macdonals also making a big wave during this MCO. Was told it is pretty good that I must try too. Since it is so good, I decided to give it a try.

It is not bad, as the skin of the pie is crispy. Filling is slightly over cook where the banana puree and chocolate seems to be slightly harden up. Overall it is still pretty good.I think different branch have different texture too. Give it a try pun.

As I look through the rack, it is quite an extensive bread range and I ask the lady at the counter to introduce me their best seller. Pandan Kaya Bun @ RM 2.90. is their best seller and also the lady’s favourite and decided to grab one. Also she recommended Onion Cheese Bun @ RM 2.90.

As for the spaghetti, you can reheat at the hot food section and recommend timing is at 2minutes. Will come out pippin out and handle with care. Was told even that I do not have to remove the cling wrap. Can put it in all together.

Was recommended again by the lady that her favourite is Spicy Belado Spaghetti @ RM 10.90. To my suprise this turns out to be quite good. A local twist that is punch with spicy (not too spicy) that is just nice for a lunch meal. Spaghetti is not soft nor too hard even after microwave 2 minutes. Pretty good though and for RM 1 promotion lunch. Can definitely grab a few.

For onigiri @ RM 4.90 with their Thursday special promo with app is only at RM 1. One of my favourite. Fresh seaweed wrap and cream cheese did not overpower. A perfect simple quick bite for me. I constantly make it take away whenever I take KLIA 2 flights.
