Their new shop name is currently known as Xiao Long Xing Jiang Hu instead of the famous Xiao Long Kan at Sunway Velocity.

updated 19th May: I was told by my friend that Xiao Long Kan in Sunway Velocity is not original and it is a copy cat. I was told Xiao Long Kan Original Brand going to open first outlet in Penang then Bukit Bintang. So went to check them out on 25th May 2019 and indeed they have change their signage and name.

I am a big fan of China Mala hotpat. My friend arrange a dinner at this famous Xiao Long Kan Hotpot 小龙坎重庆老火锅 in Sunway Velocity as she rate this is one of the best China Szechuan hotpot in that area. Also got to find out that they are well known in China and this is their first outlet out from China.

[went back again Jan’19 and it seems that their soup quality had drop. order medium spicy turns out to be less spicy and the herb after taste not that prominent]

xiao long kan (6)

Along this new boulevard of Sunway velocity, I am impress on how many other China restaurant that is operating in this area and amount of China Chinese is dining in. I am sure it is quite authentic that drive them to these few shops.

There will be a long queue if you come during peak hours and some of other shops operate till 3am.

xiao long kan (1)

The interior of this outlet, win! Interior that travels you back to the Qing dynasty era.

For China stemboat, we will not miss out with your own diy sauces that are basic with freshly chopped chili, garlic, coriander and spring onion. To add in at least half bottle of their sesame oil into your sauce.

xiao long kan (10)

For soup base, we order their signature : Butter Spicy Soup with 1 chili (which you can choose on your spicy level till level 3) @ RM 48, and Mushroom Yuen Yang @ RM 42. First timer, I would advise on level 1 spiciness level as it is quite different from others. If you think you can really take ma la spicinness then start off with level 2. I had mine in 2 chili. Loving it.

xiao long kan (7)

Pig Blood Cube @ RM 10

Most of the ingredient here are fresh and we ordered quite alot. . Love the spices and fragrant of the soup. Not too spicy as what I thought off but it is good enough for my level. To others might thing it is quite spicy.

xiao long kan (8)

Shrimp Paste @ RM 38

Fish Fillet

xiao long kan (19)

Fish Balls @ RM 10

xiao long kan (20)

Luncheon Meat @ RM 16

I have had quite number of China Szechuan steamboat in KL and certainly this is one of my top recommendations now. Price is on the steep side but near comparable with Xiao Fei Yang (XFY). Another of my favourite is also CQB in Kuchai Lama.

Certainly not cheap as the total bill came about RM 500 with 2 bottles of beer.

my second visit 3.11.2018:

Do remember to call to make reservation. If You walk in, the waiting time during peak hours is 2-3 hours. I waited 3 hours without booking. So its kinda bad.

[update: went on 6th Jan 2019, the quality of soup had dropped.. Order medium spicy taste non spicy and the herbs ingredient is less prominent] downgrade ratings from 9 – 7.5

I guess many people like me will read this place as SpagJus or I might be wrong as when you come closer to their outlet then known as Spag & Ju’s in Sunway Velocity. Honestly, they are great peeps as I have seen them grow from Food truck which they gave me strong support in my event back in my past previous job. Today they are now operating food kiosk in major malls by serving all of us their signature comfort food.

SpagJus (2)

Both foodtruck owners have decided to come together to spearhead this new brand Spag & Ju’s, hence there is the 2 brand name combination as the outlet name.

SpagJus (1)

SpagJus (4)

Menu is quite similiar to those days in their food truck.

SpagJus (10)

If you are looking for a quick value meal, then this is one of the place to be. They have been well known for generous portion of spagheti and ingredients serving. When comes to busy hours, you will need to queue too. Well, the queue is just not too long as this is a kiosk style and most people would just eat and go.

SpagJus (5)

Slurpy Chicken is one of their signature. Top with a huge piece of chicken meat and the amount of spaghetti, I could not finish it. @ RM 17. Chicken is well marinated and grill on their hot pan

SpagJus (6)

SpagJus (7)

One of my personal favourite is their Daging Fries @ RM  (more like sloppy fries). Drench in their special daging sauce that make this quite addictive. If I can sneak this into the cinema, it would be perfect.

SpagJus (15)

SpagJus (9)

Other meats, you can opt for Slurpy Dory @ RM 17.

SpagJus (11)

Lamb Mash is new in the menu. Love the marination of lamb, cook to perfection as mine is soft and slighyl chewy to my liking. The mash and gravy is just spot on.

SpagJus (12)

SpagJus (14)

Great to have jus to pair along with spaghetti. (left to right) Basil Lime Soda @ RM 6.50, Purple Slurpy @ RM 8 and Minty Melon @ RM 8

SpagJus (16)

SpagJus (21)

SpagJus (22)

They have black pepper gravy or mushroom sauce for you to choose from. I always prefer their black pepper.

One of a upcoming prominent in Korea that currently is in massive expansion mood in the country, have about 100 outlets across Korea. Not only that, as Chicken Plus finally landed in Malaysia at Sunway Velocity being their first outlet and there will be more to come  as they are aggressively expanding in Malaysia too.

chicken Plus (1)

It was election week and while returning to KL and craving for Fried Chicken, then stumble upon this outlet that it is new and running a promotion.

Ways on ordering.

chicken Plus (7)

As starter, you are given a mini salad and radish.

chicken Plus (9)

The chart of their massive growing outlets in Korea

Ordered their signature to try on.

chicken Plus (11)

Love their Ttoboki, as rarely I would order that. Just not a big fan of it when in Malaysia as it is hard to find the right texture, soft and chewy. However, this place is spot on. Love their spicy sauce to my liking as taste just the one that I had in roadside of Dongdaemun. – Recommended (as this was a free item during their opening promo). Carbonara is not too bad too if you like creamy base.

chicken Plus (15)

thank god that they have small portion as in 2 pieces. Most of the Korean fried chicken shop serve in half chicken or full therefore cant try much flavour. 2 Pcs Drumstick @ RM 11 (Flavour – Basakan Original) – original Koren Fried Chicken.

Over here we tried 4 of their signature sauce.

chicken Plus (12)

Boneless chicken was top of the pick among were the girls fave which I never understand till date as it is easy for them to eat along with their pretty manicure. Boneless Regular @ RM 16 with Hot Shocking Sauce (with special flavor of dried red pepper in soy sauce base)

chicken Plus (13)

According to the staff, Creamy Onion was their best seller and we decided to try it out with Wings 8 Pcs @ RM 18.

chicken Plus (14)

chicken Plus (17)

Their butter rice is damm good. Just give it a try. Something simple that just pack with flavour.Recommended.

chicken Plus (10)

Of course if got a chance will add on cheese for the fried chicken. (RM 19) Their cheese actually taste better than some of other places as it does have a mix unique taste.

chicken Plus (20)

Another order we tried with Boneless Chicken Regular @ RM 16 with (Yang-Nyuem) – sweet and spicy sauce.

chicken Plus (19)

chicken Plus (21)

Dessert we order Mango Bingsu @ RM 23. Their bingsu is the soft snow texture and being greedy, we order the melon bingsu @ RM 26 too.

chicken Plus (22)

chicken Plus (23)

Melon bingsu just lack of the juicy and sweetness from the fruits ifself. If not, it would be a perfect ending as we understand it from fruits production standpoint.

Find that the food here is not too bad and will definitely return again as the price is quite reasonable. Among the chicken flavours I tried, my personal preference prefer both (Hot Shocking & Yang-Nyuem)

Got to read some blogs about this place it seems Cheese Burger Bakar Abang Burn is one of a fancy joints that happen to be pop out stall at our street food scene at Ampang. Actually, I read that Abang Burn is hail from Pulau Pangkor and became a butcher in Australia for many years before returning back to our shore.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (1)

With his love for burger and steak, he have since then created Burger Bakar Abang Burn that had massively created a big hype and now franchise program is available. Interesting.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (2)

The stall starts operate at 6pm and queue started at 5.45pm.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (3)

What is so special about this stall. I guess it boils down to 2 things for me. Homemade Patty and also their new inclusion of cheese version like raclette cheese – an additional of RM 15 just for that. There are 4 flavours available but that depends more like choices of the day on which is available.

Their classic is Burger Bakar from RM 7.90 then they do have Premium Burger bakar from Rm 8.90 and it seems their signature is Kuater Kilo @ RM 12.90.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (4)

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (6)

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (7)

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (8)

you will see very rare in our ramlee burger scene or burger bakar will have this machine. However this is their new signature in this stall.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (9)

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (10)

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (11)

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (12)

They do have meatballs too  @ RM 9.90

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (13)

Ordered 2 to try out. One is Kuater Kilo with Cheese Ractlett – cheese of the day is Raja cheese – Swedish Raclette with total damage of RM 12 + RM 15 = RM 27 for street burger.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (14)

Another which is crowd favourite would just add on cheese banjir @ RM 3 as it seperate into 2 version. Will try the fondue next.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (15)

Cheesy Mushroom @ RM 5.90

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (16)

Love the texture of the meat, as it is soft and not over cook yet fragrant. With cheese banjir ontop make it more interesting and be prepared to get messy from your hand to mouth.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (17)

another burger is Burger Bakar Ayam @ RM 7.90. add cheese too. Raclette cheese is quite good. Salty to my liking that pairs well. But it does seems that my cheese is much little compare to others in the picture during preparation.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (18)

As you can see the cheese did not cover the whole patty as compare to others that I saw.

Burger Bakar Abang Burn (19)

They have alot of branches every where. Do check out their list here. will come back check another round.

I always love my nan. One of the best Tandori nan is at Ampang. Recently I was introduce to this place, Best Cheese Nan in KL at Restaurant RSMY at Setapak. The name itself, I would probably agree with the signage that they are one of the best Cheese Nan in KL or Klang Valley.

RSMY Cheese Nan (1)

Located in this busy district of Tar College area, flock by both young and family crowd and with plenty of food to hunt in this area. RSMY is no exception to be one of the top in your list.

RSMY Cheese Nan (2)

We are just here for the cheese nan only as on that day, this is our 4th stop for food hunt and also our last stop.

RSMY Cheese Nan (4)

RSMY Cheese Nan (5)

Nan are made fresh daily and just look at the dough. silkly smooth round ball and the amount of cheese they added in it is OMG!

RSMY Cheese Nan (6)

Tandori do looks good do. Will save that for next come back as we were just too full.

RSMY Cheese Nan (7)

RSMY Cheese Nan (8)

There are alot of customers who does take away and the amount that they are doing is non stop.

RSMY Cheese Nan (9)

RSMY Cheese Nan (10)

Here you go our Cheese Special Nan, as it does fill with hams and double cheese. Look at it ooze out. Love the texture of the fluffy soft nan, with oozing cheese which is not too salty yet just pairs well. I prefer mine to dip into condense milk to make it more fragrant which you can just request from them.

RSMY Cheese Nan (11)

RSMY Cheese Nan (12)

RSMY Cheese Nan (13)

Another is Garlic Cheese Nan, and I think the best combination would be cheese Nan Special with Garlic to make it even more perfect. Garlic taste is not too overpowering yet a hint of it is just perfect.

RSMY Cheese Nan (14)

According to the guy, this cheese can pull as high as you stand on the chair and all the way up without breaking. Impressive!

RSMY Cheese Nan (15)

Indeed a great place for a simple comfort food and would be recommended in my list. Will be back to try their rice dishes and also tandori.
