Sri Hartamas / Mt Kiara

Christmas is just around the corner and all of us are excited to have friends gathering. This was during mid of this year when I visited this outlet Shakariki 432 Sake Dining at Desa Sri Hartamas, KL. This outlet had been in my list for quite a while.

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (3)

A place that offer nearly all selections like Sushi, Yakitori, Oden and sets.

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (9)

A simple Japanese, Yakitori place and of course their happy hour is da bomb! Will definitely drop by again but I am not too sure as this menu was during July 2020. RM 12 for Sapporo beer is very good deal.

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (10)

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (8)

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (11)

Menu is very extensive and it seems they have another outlet in Publika.

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (4)

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (5)

This their pork charsu is damm good. Burnt crips on the edge and whole piece is well marinated.

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (2)

They have quite a unique selection of sushi roll. Crunchy Roll @ RM 25. Crispy outside and flavourful inside.

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (12)

This is one of my favourite.  Shisho Kaoru Dashi Chazuke @ RM 15

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (1)

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (7)

a skewer of pork @ RM 7

SHAKARIKI 432 SAKE DINING (6)

Not a bad place for a Yakitor Japanese food in KL if you are looking for a few variety. Parking here can be an ass but oh well. Pricing is quite reasonable.

Japanese Yakitori ToriDoki at Hartamas had been here for ages. Just that every time I walk pass by, did not really want to go in till before MCO. Since it is so pack and why not give it a try.

Tori Doki (1)

Yakitori Tori Doki is famous for their yakitori which is more like Japanese BBQ skewers.

Tori Doki (2)

Tori Doki (3)

Its not an extensive menu but that is what they are famous for.

Tori Doki (4)

Not only that. They are famous for their Oden too. It is boil to perfection. Flavours from Chicken bone soup and Golden Dashi that had been boil for 8 hours. Just look at the colour of the soup. Thick and flavourful. Of course with Highball to go along.

Tori Doki (5)

In here is the 3 ingredient that I would usually order.

  1. Mochi Kinchaku – @ RM 7 – chicken mince and rice cake in fried tofu
  2. Daikon Radish @ RM 7
  3. Grilled Tofu @ RM 7

Tori Doki (6)

If you didnt handle with care on the Mochi Kinchaku, the mini thick broth in it is leaking out. One of a MUST have item.

Tori Doki (7)

Tori Doki (8)

The gyoza is alright. pan fried to perfection.

Tori Doki (9)

For yakitori, I had:

  1. Sasami @ RM 7 – tender chicken breast with wasabi
  2. Tsukune @ RM 12 – Meatball with cheese
  3. Tsukune @ RM 10- meatball with homemade yakitori sauce
  4. Kawa @ RM 8 – Crispy Skin with salt
  5. Liver @ RM 7
  6. Tebasaki @ RM 9 – Chicken Wings
  7. Toridoki @ RM 8 – thighs and brest wrap with chicken skin

It was indeed quite a satisfying meal for the night.

Tori Doki (15)

If you are looking for Yakitori shop, this is definately one of them but for their ODEN, I must say it is one of the best I had so far. Could it be best ODEN in KL?

Of course there are another 2 more YAkitori shop which is nearby that I like:

  1. Yakitori Dining Fukuda
  2. Butakaya Izakaya

Where to hunt for authentic Korean food in KL? There is one actually, one of the latest addition of Korean food in Solaris is this Kitchen Goheung. Serving one of a classic pork ribs stew pot dish. It is exactly like what I had in one of the shop in Seongsu Dong, Seoul, Korea.

kitchen goheung (1)

Just look at the sign board already tempted you wanted to try it. I have discover this place for quite a while only early this year start giving it a try and to my surprise, I hvae went back 3 times after that. One of the best pork ribs soup you can get. One of the best Korean food in Solaris.

kitchen goheung (2)

This is a shop being patronize by alot of Koreans and usually I am the only local diner there.

kitchen goheung (3)

Their set lunch is quite a bargain menu wise is not extensive. All the basic and signature are there.

kitchen goheung (4)

I have been in for this signature dish a few times already. Pork Bone Stew (M) – enough to feed for 2-3 pax! You can add ramyeon after that. @ RM 55 There are a few ingredient that makes this a great dish which is from the leaves on the bottom right. That gives a slight bitter fragrant flavour yet push it into the kimchi stew soup with their hint of pepper and spicy powder, then mix it all up. The soup gives you a whole new level of taste. Best to go with Soju BomB!

kitchen goheung (5)

kitchen goheung (6)

This 2 mixture do give you a hint of spices that it is needed. A soup base that is sweet, sour, spicy and hint of bitter. A perfect pork bone stew with kimchi pork bone soup base! yumz!

kitchen goheung (7)

kitchen goheung (8)

kitchen goheung (9)

Each of the pork bone are being cook for long as the meat just peel off easily with chopstick!

kitchen goheung (10)

As this round I have more people, then we order their signature Kimchi Spam Fried Rice @ RM 25. A very simple dish yet done to perfection. A taste from sourish kimchi with the fragrant of spam, is blended well. Mix it all up with some spoonfull of pork bone soup is just perfect!

kitchen goheung (11)

Another signature dish that must order is this classic dish that I had in Korea too. Pork Bone with Kimchi Stew @ RM 26

kitchen goheung (12)

Long marinated pork bone wrap with kimchi then slow cooked to compress the sourish flavour of kimchi out. A soup base which is slight thick but punch with flavour. Some of you might not used to the strong sourish taste but it is as good classic dish as it is!

kitchen goheung (13)

When I was in Korea, One of the Ajuma taught me how to eat this dish is by pouring in the cup of rice being served then eat it along. Loving it! Makes them one of the best Korean food in Mont Kiara.

kitchen goheung (14)

Currently this shop makes it to my top 3 best Korean food in KL.

One of the most famous pastry shop in Bangsar is this Jaslyn Cakes that now had expended their outlet to Mont Kiara. Located just right opposite Kiara 163 or next to Baskin Robin.

Jaslyn Cakes (1)

Was told by my friends that the place serve pretty good cakes and I am not too sure as this is my first time here.

Jaslyn Cakes (2)

Heading here for tea for my colleague farewell. Love the Aussie style kind of concept cafe with natural lighting roof and will be very warm if you are seated outside. Inside only 2 small table.

Jaslyn Cakes (8)

Hoola, this is our gathering for farewell.

Jaslyn Cakes (9)

Coffee here is pretty decent too as it is not too strong in taste and suits to my liking. Not too aciditiy.

Jaslyn Cakes (10)

Jaslyn Cakes (12)

Jaslyn Cakes (13)

Overall, the cakes here are pretty good as it is moist, not too strong and dense. All the flavours we order has their own taste. Feels like it is freshly made for the day as my colleague went inside and wanted to make a take away, was told it is sold out.

Jaslyn Cakes (14)

I will definately be back again for a piece of cakes and coffee for my cuppa. Price range of cakes is from RM 8 – RM 20 per piece. Well, definately one of a cafe in KL that I would recommend.

The cauldron had even brewed up some pretty potent potions. For the grown-ups, my wickedly delicious Monster Ball’s cocktail, the Black Eye Fear @ RM 25 with vodka, cranberry juice, and lime. Bella’s Eyes @ RM 12, a mixture of mango, orange and fresh lemon juice as well as strawberry syrup.

Was recommended again by the lady that her favourite is Spicy Belado Spaghetti @ RM 10.90. To my suprise this turns out to be quite good.
