I have seen them evolve alot over past few years and with the latest by adding fresh food into their selected bigger outlets. Adding bento box, sandwich, onigiri and a few others as their quick grab and go section that is delivery fresh daily.

MyNews (6)

with this, now they are running a promotion on every Tuesday (Bento) and Thursday (Onigiri) for ONLY RM1 . What you need to do is only to download their myNews.com App through Playstore or Appstore.

In selected outlets, they have also introduce their fresh bakery section known as Maru Bakes. You can grab their produce that is delivery daily to the outlet.

MyNews (3)

As I look through the rack, it is quite an extensive bread range and I ask the lady at the counter to introduce me their best seller. Pandan Kaya Bun @ RM 2.90. is their best seller and also the lady’s favourite and decided to grab one. Also she recommended Onion Cheese Bun @ RM 2.90.

New folder

Also another surprise. The bread turns out better than expected.

MyNews (13)

As for the spaghetti, you can reheat at the hot food section and recommend timing is at 2minutes. Will come out pippin out and handle with care. Was told even that I do not have to remove the cling wrap. Can put it in all together.

MyNews (15)

Was recommended again by the lady that her favourite is Spicy Belado Spaghetti @ RM 10.90. To my suprise this turns out to be quite good. A local twist that is punch with spicy (not too spicy) that is just nice for a lunch meal. Spaghetti is not soft nor too hard even after microwave 2 minutes. Pretty good though and for RM 1 promotion lunch. Can definitely grab a few.

The war of bubble tea is back again. Now bringing the 2 latest crazy hype around South East Asia is these 2 leading brands Tiger Sugar and The Alley. So what are your thoughts? Which brand do you prefer?

Image result for the alley

source from Shenzhen Review

The Alley (9)

The Alley first made its mark in Klang Valley about 9 months ago and had made a huge hoo haa on it. I have heard lots of crazy stories about it and certainly love their little marketing gimmick to make the hype going strong.

I have only just recently tried this drink about a month ago at Kepong outlet. First, for their signature drink Brown Sugar Deerioca Milk with their pearls is slightly expensive. RM 13 for a cup of drink that is fill with milk, brown sugar and milk. Their pearl win as I would rate the best at the moment. It is bouncy and chewy. Would I come back again? Will be only once in a blue moon drink for such price tag. Now they have at least 10 outlets within Klang Valley and is aggressively expending to other states.

Next the biggest hype in Taiwan and Hong Kong is this Tiger Sugar.

Tiger Sugar (5)

Tiger Sugar seems to be leading the pack when it comes to this version of deerioca brown sugar with milk. They have recently open their first outlet in Sunway Pyramid in early January and looking at the queue, you must have the patience to go through it. Their little gimmick with maximum flavour is that you must turn upside down 15 times before you start drinking.

How does it taste? I am not too sure as I have yet to try yet. Too lazy to queue as it is an estimation of 30 -45 minutes. Maybe, next round should go early in the morning to be the first. Eventually I will make a comment on who is the best bubble milk tea in KL.

Maybe should take nice picture of how the brown sugar trail down to make my instagram feed slightly better. At times we do really think of ways how do we want to increase our instagram followers. There are tricks to it.

  1. be hardworking (which I am lazy) place all those nice platting on a corner, nice lighting, shoot 10 – 20 shots to get 1 single money shot. Including at least 2 days 1 post.
  2. be creative (which I am lacking)
  3.  photo editing skills (which I have little about it) maybe I should brush up more in light room.
  4. comment and like other people’s feed. (this is how i did when I was building my blog donkey years ago)
  5. Get an agency to do it for you.

Fried Chicken is our most common food in Malaysia. Being one of our favourite brand, Texas Chicken now launched a new range of New Big Deals which is light meals starting from RM 3.80.

texas chicken (2)

Certainly it is good for someone whom is light eater or quick meals. Sometimes, I would prefer something light and these certainly would be a great options.. There are 6 choices for us to choose from:

Each of it have 2 choices. Starting from:

texas chicken (3)

texas chicken (4)

Japanese Roasted Sesame Rice Bowl @ RM 5.80 Crunchy chicken tenders with roasted sesame dressing, served over diced tomatoes, onions, shredded lettuce and fluffy fragrant rice.

texas chicken (5)

Spicy Korean Bowl @ RM 5.80 Chunky chicken tenders, drizzled with sweet and spicy sauce and sesame seeds. Layered on top of diced tomato, shredded lettuce and fluffy fragrant rice.

texas chicken (6)

Out of my expectation, rice are pretty good for the kind of price that they are offering. At RM 5.80 per bowl, I certainly I have no complain over it. Among the 2, Spicy Korean bowl will be my prefer option as gives me the hint of spiciness that I like. Japanese rice is not bad too as it is slightly more creamy from the sesame sauce.

texas chicken (7)

texas chicken (8)

Spicy Thai Porridge @ RM 5.30 Warm porridge with tender chicken chunks, topped with crispy tomyum flavoured potato flakes

texas chicken (9)

Chicken Porridge @ RM 5.30 Tender chicken chunks, garnish with sesame oil, spring onions, crispy fried onions and thinly sliced chilli. This turn out to be better than what we expected. For a chain to offer a bowl of pippin hot porridge, is quite good. This was the first bowl to finish.

texas chicken (10)

Japanese Mash Bowl @ RM 3.80 Chicken tenders topped with roasted sesame dressing and spring onions.

texas chicken (11)

Spicy Korean Mash Bowl @ RM 3.80 Chunky chicken tenders, with sweet and spicy sauce. Drizzled with mayo and sesame seed stop a bed of creamy mash.

texas chicken (12)

texas chicken (13)

It is now available at all Texas Chicken outlets. When your friends opt for their favourite fried chicken, you now can opt for something smaller in size.

texas chicken (14)

Whenever you purchase their set with drinks, it always comes with free flow and I always aim at their Southern Sweet Tea.

texas chicken (15)

Together with their 3 piece chicken, I will never miss out on their famous honey-butter biscuits too. One of these items is a must-have.

Now heard from my friend that will be opening another outlet at Pavilion and Penang too.

Do prepare to queue for 4-6 hours like what is happening in Singapore during peak hours. I had my first HaidiLao in Singapore early this year 2018 during my visit of FHA. So all of you folks out there, get ready for crazy queue.

Seeing them grow from single outlet to multiple outlet and you have to queue at most of their outlet. A staple food that every one can just dig in 2-3 times a week is this GO Noodle. Started all the way back in year 2014 at Jaya One. One of their latest outlet is at Starling Mall, Uptown Damansara.

GO Noodle (1)

GO Noodle (2)

Their outlet is usually design in a very classic old Chinese Era or I call it the Thong Pak Fu era.

GO Noodle (3)

With their broth is so clear and delicious, to add in more punch is where you can purchase any of this chinse wine to add into the soup to make it even more aromatic. The older or more expensive bottle you get, the noodle taste is getting better.

GO Noodle (4)

GO Noodle (5)

My usual drink will be their Milk Tea & chinese tea.

GO Noodle (6)

One of a few item that being added in is this snack platter – ‘9 Dragon Balls @ RM 9.90 which has HK Fried Fish Balls, Fried Pork Balls and HK Fried Cuttlefish Balls. Their pork ball is always one the best item to pick where it is springy and solid to my liking. Fish ball and cuttlefish were pretty decent.

GO Noodle (7)

GO Noodle (10)

Another new item is Pork Tendon Ball Noodle @ RM 9.80 Pairing it with their Superior or Homemade Spicy Soup with Mi Xian is always my prefer option. I personally love their Mi Xian and both their Superior or Homemade Spicy Soup are an excellent choice depending on how you like your soup. The Pork Tendon Balls were bouncy, succulent and flavorful; bursting with flavor and texture especially from the little tendon bits.

GO Noodle (11)

GO Noodle (12)

For another side dish, their fish maw soup is awesome! love the punch of flavour they have in the soup and fish maw is slightly spongy. A recommended order.
