Right after the meal at Crystal Jade (click here), we went for a stroll and 30 minutes after that, my friend told me must try one of the stalls in the Food Court – Mie Tarik Laiker. I told her I am still very full from heavy late lunch just now. She insist that I must try then I was like okay . ..

food court (1)

Went up to the top floor and I am certainly impress with the design of the food court in Grand Indonesia.

food court (7)

Another set of ramen and I rate this as Indonesian Ramen. . ūüėÄ

food court (8)

Here are a few sauces for you to add onto the noodle as I see many people take Chili Oil, dark soy sauce and vinegar if not mistaken.

food court (9)

Here is my Mie Tarik that the noodle is springy and I order mine Mie Tarik Pedas and its surely very spicy, top with mince meat. Gravy is very nice not too thick that goes well with the noodle. Worth to try to those who visit this mall . . Recommended~

Another type of seating area. . .

As it heads towards off office hours, which is rush hour, and I notice my friend keep staring at the road I thought why, she saw a ghost? Only realise that she is curious why there are people waving to cars to hop on a ride not taxi. Then I explain to her that, during peak hours, on the highway there must be at least 2-3 passenger in the car, if not, police notice they will be fine! Therefore these people on the road side can be hired. Ask them to hop onto your car to fill up the quota then pay them xx amount of money (market price) then just drop them off any of the location.

Then worried that wont they be rob? Certainly no as they are looking for money to feed themselves or family. Certainly wont go till rob or there are cases that we are unaware.

I have been to Jakarta couple of times back in many years ago till this year I revisit the country as my friends wedding took place. I remembered that, Grand Indonesia had open not long ago at that time and my friend took me to this restaurant Crystal Jade which she loves it alot that located on the ground floor of its mall that was so pack with people and queuing up to go in few years back.

crystal jade (1) Since I am here again, decided to drop by at the restaurant again to have late lunch, reach here about 2.30pm on weekdays could have guess it that we no need to queue to get into the restaurant.  By the restaurant name itself, already known that its famous for Xiau  Long Bao and also La Mien. crystal jade (2)

Open Concept kitchen

crystal jade (3) These settings are pretty much similiar to the one we have in Malaysia.. crystal jade (4) crystal jade (5)

Price are very reasonable in terms of dining in restaurant here. .

crystal jade (6) Jus Alpukat which is avacodo blended that comes out thick and creamy with some chocolate taste. Rp 25,000 crystal jade (7)

Of course Xiao Long Bao is a must in this restaurant. . . RP 25,000

crystal jade (8)

Skin are quite thin and carefully wrap with the soup in there is just sweet. .

crystal jade (9)

Sichuan Lamian @ RP 40,000

crystal jade (10) It is not spicy as I thought so, filled with peanut and sesame taste that the soup is quite thick. Noodle is just nice. .

Overall, the food here is not bad but definitely better taste compare to the one in KL. Just wonder why.

AS I was in Jakarta, I miss my friends there, and some of them arrange to meet at this new neighbourhood bar Hops & Malts as I Google it and some Indonesia bloggers do blog about this place as I quite worried that not many searchers will appear. Apparently this bar is also quite well known for their food as I did not try it out. Was here for a drink and chill with my friends here.

hops n malts (1)

Located in the new development around the area in Ruko Garden House, North Jakarta, smack with alot of F&B units and this is one of my friends, Ryard favorite hang out place. I also do observe that there are many young Indonesians hang out around here also.

hops n malts (2)

Love the ambiance of the bar which is simple with red brick wall design by playing R&B and house as background music at that time.

hops n malts (3)

hops n malts (4)

simple casual seating area. .Casual also they do have games such as Beer Pong, Beer Dart and Beer Roulette for you to play along with your friends.

hops n malts (5)

and outdoor too as it was pretty empty on weekdays and I was about to leave it was full . .

hops n malts (6)

Price of the food are pretty reasonable ..

hops n malts (7)

So try out their local beer Anker –¬†A deep golden pilsner with creamy foaming head, strong flavor, delicious well balanced bitter taste and full body, something like Tiger crossover with Carlsberg. In my own opinion. Kekeke .. (forgot to tale the bottle)

They have another funny name for the beer is called Kuda Putih (White Horse) and my friend do not like it so did not order.

hops n malts (8)

This is one hell of a great fries with bacon and bbq sauce top with some cheeze dressing on top and goes perfectly well with our beers.

hops n malts (10)

Its a nice small little neigbourhood bar to pop by after work or hang out with friends. Had a great time there by meeting some my friends there. It was a busy day for me as non stop meeting friends there. ūüėÄ

One of the place that I used to travel 3 times a year is Jakarta. One of the country that I have many friends that can bring me for nice food. As for this would be my first posting upon arrival at Jakarta as we took KLM Royal Dutch Airlines as the fare is just only RM30 diff from Air Asia yet in KLM they arrange me for emergency exit space which is for the first time of my life took that space for return ticket. They provide superb customer service too . . Cafe Dermaga

Well, my air flight return just cost me RM 360 for economy class which I would say its a bargain. For this round heading to Jakarta for one of my best friend wedding also to see all my friends there. Trip is pretty tight in schedule and upon arrival, Lina came pick us up. . ūüôā

cafe dermaga (1)

Then I told her I want spicy noodle that last time my friend used to bring me too. It was 5 years ago since I last went there and also the small little warung had turn into a cafe now. Cafe Dermaga is located in one of the prime location called Pantai Mutiara, which is a housing area that alot of super rich Indonesians are staying. Why I said that, you will see in the next few pictures.

cafe dermaga (2)

A cafe that have turn into a prime spot which is pretty well known for its spicy noodle and now they serve western, local cuisine.

cafe dermaga (3)

A pretty nice place to hang out with friends. . .

cafe dermaga (4)

cafe dermaga (5)

cafe dermaga (7)

Price for food are pretty standard for this kind of cafe that located in such location that average per dish is around RP30,000 which is = around RM10

cafe dermaga (8)

Watermelon crush ..

cafe dermaga (9)

Bakmi Sakaow @ RP 28,000

cafe dermaga (10)

this is the signature dish that most of the people would come here for, a spicy noodle that you can choose the level of spiciness to be added on from Level 1 – 5 if I am not mistaken. We try not to be too hero as I know the spiciness in Indonesia is far more than the arverage Malaysians can take. So we opted for LVL 3. .

If you think you can eat very spicy, then go for level 5 . . and Iwish you luck that your lipes doesnt turn into German Sausage. ūüėÄ

In simple, I would say it as Indonesian Wan Tan Mee, as it filled with chicken slices, and the noodle is definately springy as my friend told me that they made in house. After mix with the chili, it really makes you scratch your head then sweat will flow out after a few bites. My friend she cant really take the spiciness and end up we finish half. I still find that last time it used to taste much better. . Well, if you are heading to Jakarta for the first time, this is a shop with trying for their Bakmi Sakaw

cafe dermaga (11)

Then Lina order Gelato which is made in house or consider a local brand themself. The ice cream is smooth and chocolate have the richest flavor of all.

cafe dermaga (12)

cafe dermaga (13)

This is what I mean why Pantai Mutiara house some of the richest Indonesians is because behind their house, there are a dockyard and not to exaggerat, some of the house have 4-5 boats. SIAU EHH!!!! and you can see some of the most unique house design over here. Its definitely a eye opener for my friend.

During last night of my stay in Bandung, my friend brought us to Badung Bar & Restaurant that I believe San Miguel is their main beer in this outlet. As my friend told me that this is their latest hangout spot that newly opened end of last year and its already famous among its neighborhood.

Well, I can only say, Bandung is a perfect place to go shopping and eat + extra bonus is their weather is chill at night. ITs best for you to check when is their raining season before you get your tickets.

Full Itinerary will come out soon . .

In KL I have never been to Lookout Point before where so many bloggers had blog bout it, yet still have not find a time to head there. . . .During my last trip, I believe this place would be similar to Lookout Point, where is called The Valley Bistro Cafe & Bistro Hotel located at northen Dago area, Bandung.

the valley (1)

This is one of a famous restaurant especially to couples that filled with very romantic ambiance, open air concept where you just sit at their open space area and enjoy the chill windy breeze while dining your meal or sipping your wine.

the valley (2)

Besides that, after this place had drawn alot of crowd from nearby states, they had also now build a Bistro Hotel more cater for love birds to have their wedding or anniversary here.

the valley (3)

some girls they just cant stand the chill windy breeze and of course they do have indoor area which is dim with orange pale lights, and candle lights on each table.

the valley (4)

the valley (5)

the valley (6)

While enjoying your dinner or moments with your love ones, enjoy the live band they have on that night, by singing all romantic acoustic songs  .. .

the valley (7)

and I was walking around surprise to see Mosandy went to go sing on stage!!!

the valley (8)

The live band is good .. .

the valley (9)

As we were full from dinner, auntie and uncle mo bring us to this place just to go for their desert, which is quite cheap. for a huge piece of desert for around RM10. .  We tried out 4 slices and it was too dark outside i could not take the pics. The deserts are worth to try.

the valley (10)

This is the open space area that we sit and many couples were there . . According to my friend, here is you pay for the price of ambiance and food wise is not that good. . .

the valley (11)

Well, this is my view for the night and not only I love the view, I love the weather. .  cooler than Genting.

A place I would recommend to come if you do visit Bandung ..
