Night Life at Mong Kok

Our very first stop for the night is Mong Kok. Where by a lot of things to be bought and see. Still remember one of the movie which is One Night in Mong Kok.. This area had always been like famous with gang triads and always about ‘Pek Yau’ but that was all about in the movie.

We took the MRT from our hotel to Mong Kok and it was like a few stations away.

When I walk out from the entrance of the MRT I got so shocked that the whole street is packed with people and damm noisy.

The street was closed up and it was Friday night that makes it packed like sardines and you get to see a lot of street performance.

by This guy where you put in some coins on the yellow or green thing he had prepared, then he will move. It is exactly like a machine. He was standing there so still even though we kacau him, he wont smile or laugh. Professional~

This is not a street performer, just a person who give out brochure but then had done it like they are one. They are promoting slimming packages.

By this ah pek, we respected him a lot, that even his voice out of tone so much and the way he sings will give you nightmare but we support for his courage. The best part is not only him is about his dog also. Sit there till a fake dog and he know’s when to bark when the singer sing chorus.
In this area, not only 1 ah pek doing it, there are a few other ah pek doing street performance.

Hong kong is all about advertising, and competing whose sign board is bigger to get awareness but of course it had lighten up the streets.

After walking in that area, we head to the famous street, ‘Lady Street’. Which we rate it something like ‘Chee Cheong Kai’ (Petaling Street) but of course, the things there are much nicer, it is longer than Petaling street 3 times and the crowd are like 5 times more.

For those who like to bargain, here would be your paradise but please be aware that if you are really interested in the items, only start bargain.

*Remarks
Please do not bargain and bargain for the syokness of yourself and you will ended up letting them scold and curse u or shout at you very loud.

After a short walk, this stall caught my attention, for those who have great fantasies, you can definitely get your sexy lingerie here. The best me and my friend think of is the elephant.

Bosini in Hong Kong is so famous where you can directly see that their clothes is much more nice compare to Giordano Malaysia as we rate this 2 brand similar and of course the pricing of the t-shirt is not worth to get in HK for Bosini.

I got impress that they occupied the whole 4 level.

For the first night only, we were like already spend over budget. With the food and women street there, and disappointed I cant find any nice Converse shoe at ‘Shoe Street’

Mong Kok Street Food

Was walking around for the night quite long, so it was me who made the call saying that kia liau…go food hunting. As I remembered last time when I came to this area, there is 1 takoyaki very very nice and the queue is very long.

First stoop of the night, Nelson Street.

As I spotted this stall, directly drag the whole group to this stall as I smelled Smelly Toufu. When I reached this stall I was so excited like a 3 year old kid saw a ice cream guy, and get to see so many things to eat. When I spotted this stall that time I cant really see what were they selling as this stall that time it was full with food patrons. The street with that number is only this shop is here where you can see the shop is flooded with ppl.

Of course the no.1 thing that MUST not MISSSSSS….. The ‘Curry Fish Ball’ The upper deck is non spicy and the 1 below is Spicy. After taking this picture I got scolded by the store owner saying that not allow to take pictures. Then I was like wtf!!!

This is a small bowl of curry fish ball which cost HKD 8.

Of course cannot compare to the 1 I ate at Sri Petaling Pasar Malam Curry Fish Ball. The fragrance of the currry is there and the softness of the fish ball its like you use a knife to slice it when I am biting it. I ordered the spicy as it was really spicy. One ball enough to stir you high. Definitely good stuff.

Wahhhhh….this is one of the best thing to get in this stall also, by looking at it and remembering the taste just makes me drool again. It is ‘Fried Pig Intestine‘. The skin is crispy with gold brown colour and the filling is chewy and of course got a lil stink smell and taste just makes it perfect. For those who eat pig spare parts, of course this is verrryy Highly Recommended by me. One stick is around HKD9

Next is my bestie bought ‘Siew Mai’. The great thing is not about the sauce of it. The sweet sauce mix with it that stir up the taste. Comparing with the siew mai in malaysia, still think it taste better from the street food. It is small in size, with the stim taste and soft. Just alright.

This must not be miss also, one of the Hong Kong street food signature. Of course one of in my hotlist food hunt which is the ‘Smelly Toufu‘. To the dissapointment, the smell of the smelly toufu is not as strong as last time which you can smell it 2 blocks away. This I get to know they serve the toufu when I walked nearby the stall.
The toufu is not as smelly as I ate last time, but of course it is much better compare to Sri Petalling because of the smell and of course the SAUCE!!! The sauce you have to mix it with, sweet sauce, their very own chili sauce and chili flakes with some ginger. Wow, even though the toufu is not really smelly compare to last time but with the mixture of the sauce, can just put the whole thing in my mouth and enjoying it.
After finishing it, when I try to talk to Yeong my bestie, she said she cant really smell the smelliness of the smell when I was talking. The amazing thing was last time me and my bro ate on the street and went back up on the bus, the old lady ask me and my bro did we eat smelly toufu, and we asked her how she know, then she said that we stinks.. 😀

Walk and walk and walk then came till this street. From what I eat just now, I am still hungry and my friend ask me am I alright. I said of course, part of my mission here is food hunting. Eat lah~ The stall is located behind this street board.

This is the next shop I came across as I was very thirsty and saw this shop got sell bubble cup tea. Of course it has always been my favorite and by looking so many ppl at this stall and give it a try. I drink the ‘Bubble Cup Tea’ till I forgot to take the pic. The drink definitely is a highly recommended which most of the patrons are aiming for it.

As I bought the drink first and let the rest try ended up every 1 having 1 cup. The pearl is so chewy, the drink in it is just the right taste. Not too sweet not too diluted. The drink was around HKD 12

The food that they sell is similar to the first stall that we eat. Again I was trying to take the pic, got scolded by this stall owner. Then I was like why in their shop they directly put a sign no pictures please!

This is one of the ‘Mix Ball’ that I found it quite funny and just bought one. Start from the top ‘Beef Ball’, ‘Pork Ball’, ‘Fish Ball’ and ‘Squid Ball’ which cost around HKD 10 for this stick.

Honestly, I find the taste is abit weird as they put some satay sauce and don know what sauce and the taste of the ball ball thing doesn’t impress but still finish the whole stick.

Then went back to grab another cup of Bubble cup tea as I only manage to have 2-3 sips and my friend gave me empty glass back.

This round I went there realize that they sell ‘Siew Mai’ and decided to grab one again to compare what is the difference with another stall.

After eating eat, my only comment must try! Again the sauce is impressive and very nice. It was mix with sweet sauce, peanut sauce, some chili oil and chili sauce. After you mix with the siew mai and the taste had combine out it had become very addictive. As my friend saw I ate till like that, they grab another cup and just eat till they drop. Around HKD 8

Food rating 9/10 ,Veli Hoh Chiak ah!!!~
This shop is just a few doors away, it sells takoyaki. At last found one which I think is good.
The store outlook is alright and not many people but my friend she was very tired so borrow their tables and we have to buy their food.
They have large stove to be done compare to places like our pasar malam or indoor supermarket which only owned 1/3 of it.
This is what I mean borrow their tables by purchasing the food from next door and eats there because that stall does not have tables. So we were parking there for that moment.
I order the ‘Original Takoyaki‘ cuz I don understand what the girl is mumbling about and I don know how to read chinese so just point lah…and this is wat I get. Which cost me around HKD 25.
By the look itself I was not impress and the first bite that I eat, does not really taste good. Then asked my friend what bout theirs, they shake their head. The filling is does not taste good even we feel that our pasar malam here is much better.

Flight Landed

As the seriousnesss of the N1H1 flu virus been spreading and HK had take a serious measure on cooping on it. With their past experience on SARS they had take huge precautions on it. With alot of people cancelling the destination me and my friend still proceed for our trip.
After came out from the plane, we were required to fill in the health form, to be handed over to the immigrations and in the form were mentioning, for the past 7 days did you visit any country that got infected and do you have any symptoms like flu, cough and others.

Me and my friends were like if got also wont say, cuz scared that kena quarantine and our trip to HK can’t just be medical ward.

After passing through the heat censor area, we are clear! No need to kena quarantine.

As I get to know HK immigration is one hell of a busy area with so many planes landed as we landed there were like another 7 planes arrive. Imagine how many people will there be at the counter.

The queue is so so long and compare back to the Malaysian airport immigration. So huge difference, here we have to wait around 20-30 minutes for the clearance. In Malaysia, it is express, less than 5 minutes.

During the queuing, realize that a lot of ppl already on with their mask especially the Japanese.

Was so tired of standing and ask my friend to push me till luggage pick up.. 🙂

Nooo. Nooo.. Don worry, we come in peace. H1N1 Free. Because it is free, we decided to camwhore on it…

The sames with the rest~

After took our baggage one of my friend told us not to miss this very very delicious stall. It is located outside one out from the exit entry from the luggage area keep to left and it is nearby the 7-11. Don know what is so great about it but the place is packed with ppl. Maybe ppl like us that were so hungry and came down for food hunting no matter what it is.
It is ‘Hui Lau San’
So let the food hunting had begun~
The specialty about this stall is all about Mango. For who ever that loves mango, this is a stall YOU MUST VISIT and for people who do not really fancy it also MUST VISIT!!!! It is like a Mango Desert Bar.
When you look around the stall, you will feel like is this stall actually so good ah? Like ok ok only eh~ Try to look into the menu. Then you will know.
Seriously, for the first time I had difficulties in choosing the food item. Every pics in there shows till the desert is super delicious(or maybe I am at HK then I am just like that)Do not know what to order, so just leave the ordering by my friend as she had been here so many xxx times.
The first desert that came, caught my surprise. I thought har.. come here all the way eat Muar Chi? Then my friend said, ceh…I tell you, don look down on this. Once you eat it you will know what is called great desert.

Without much hesitation I just grab and go for my first bite. Let me tell you, I have not eaten such a nice ‘Mango Mochi‘. The skin texture is so soft and the mango filling is so so so sweet and nice with the aroma of the mangoish~ When you bite the whole thing it is like melting inside your tongue and the coconut just make it perfect for the whole taste. I ended up hantaming 2. Cause it was one person each.

This drink to me tastes a lil weird. As it is ‘Mango with Black Sesame’. I am not a huge fan of black sesame might be I don really fancy the taste but some of my friends were enjoying it. HKD 23

‘Aloe Jelly Juice’ HKD23 A great drink for thirst quenching. With every sip you get to drink the aloe vera and the taste of the drink taste like pandan drink but it is so totally different when I got to know it is aloe vera as my friend keep telling me. Not pandannnnn…its aloe vera.
This is what I have ordered and share .
This is what I had ‘Mango Jelly in Mango Juice’ HKD 29.
With me and my friend sharing the big cup. The fragrance of the mango is just there. The Kick of it you wouldn’t just wanna have only 1 cup. You would ended up wanted more. When you slurp up the juice, you can feel one piece by one piece of mango to inside your mouth and down your throat. It is like drinking Pearl Milk Tea but this is I would say like mango cubes.

The drink is very thick and pure like makes you feel that you are actually eating the whole lot of mango by yourself. The drink its like 85% mango and 15% mango juice. Really a superlicious drink.

Next is the No.34 in the menu as I remembered cause this is my order also. Suddenly forgot the name.
Everything in there is also mango, the ice-cream, the juice, mango cubes and except the glutinous rice ball. When it got served, it was gone within 1 minute. The glutinous rice ball is soft exactly like in tong yuen style but this is in Mango desert.

All of us just enjoy ourselves there while waiting for our Indonesian friends to arrive.
The food here is Highly Recommended by me!! Die Die Must try!!!! If not you gonna regret. The price is reasonable for food in Hong Kong as we know that the food is more expensive than what we can dine in Malaysia. The desert price from HKD10-HKD65. So after divided out the bill, each of us pay HKD40 and we were very satisfied.

The air port is huge.
This is another building.
Tadaaaa..the bus that pick us up.
This is the first compact buidling that I saw during out from the air port. So compact. Wonder how they find their parking spot. Compare to our condo here, most of the time kena saman cuz we need to park illegally outside.

The Cross Harbour Tunnel that connect to Hong Kong Island.
I guess the H1N1 epidemic the owner decided to warn everyone that it is dangerous to eat pork.
Finally reach our Hotel. BP International House at Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.
Got impress when I walk into the hotel as my friend told me that the hotel is better than what they have stayed so far.
So this is how my rooms look liked. Forgot to take the beautiful scenery that overview to the opposite Hong Kong Island.
The most important of course the toilet. Of course I am satisfied with my room.
The hotel that we are staying is very convinient. It is just 5 mins walk away to Jordan station. 20mins walk to Harbour City and alot of food to eat around. The price is very reasonable also.

Ladies and Gentleman….Prepare to take off!

For the whole month of April I was waiting for this moment. Did not even realise that time had past so fast for the whole month, as kept day dreaming about it, during work surf where to shop, eat and sightseeing. At last, the moment of joy came in. That I am going for my business holiday already.

Even though very tired on the previous night as there are alot of things have to prepare and get done as we are going in a group of 19 from Malaysia and meeting up another 22 from Indonesia in Hong Kong air port later. Did not really sleep the whole night as alot of things happen, have to make sure every 1 waking up and reach my friend’s place on time. By 4am already wake up and hurry and make our move to Pantai Hill Park to be gathered and for the very very very very very last minute during before we about to go onto the taxi, my very best friend Desmond cannot join the trip(paid everything) the reason was, the parents still cannot let him go and the reason given was the H1N1 outbreak. I was so disappointed that my best friend in the end came about and let me know this.

So without anything we can do, we just left and I just say good bye to him and what a waste he cannot join us. Told him that I will buy him souvenir.

I miss this early sun, has been long time since I last saw it. Usually I slept till 8 and to work, of course not as early as this. 7.20am sunrise.

Hahaha..I am so happy that going to fly, just keep thinking what is the first food that I am goin to eat when I am in HK.

Every1 busy prepare to check in. In a mess for everyone, like hawker seller, shouting for ‘Passport Please’…Please give me your passport!!! Cepat cepat!!!
Wohooo…got my ticket and very excited to fly with Cathay Pacific for the very very first time. Previously have been flying under Air Asia, Sg and MAS airline. So far Air Asia had not dissapointed me yet. A great job for a budget airline. Noting to complain. As my friend told me that Cathay is so much better compare to the 3 I mention. Don know why but about to check it out.

Going for boarding at international port.

As usual we were heading to Burger King for our meal then suddenly O’Brien Sandwich was there in the middle. It is a new stall just open up in front of Burger King. Of course I choose this over B.K. I choose their signature which is the ‘O’Brian Crambo Club’.

This is the counter that they are having from the top left, you can choose the dressing and vegie that you want if you go under customise. Muffins and cakes.

Here is what I have ordered ‘O’Brian Triple Toot’ which cost me RM20. It was worth every penny of it. A toast with whole meal bread and the chicken, the onions and the ham just go perfectly well for a breakfast. Must try, highly recommended!

Cathay Pacific Airline, will not be my first time and surely will be many times to come, if their destination suits me.
I definitely would give thumbs up for all the air hostess and steward for delivering a good job! They have been very friendly yet their service is first class. No wonder my friend said that she prefer Cathay over the rest. Besides that, of course their staff is more good looking and prettier air crew on board compare to the rest. The QC of air crew is there. Never got disappointed.
The English language that they spoke is just so perfect with the right foreign accent. Just makes them so professional.
By the plane itself, even though I am half way through but I can feel that I am already in Hong Kong, the way they serve is just like the ‘Tim Sum’ Cart in H.K whereby its just so merrier and serve very fast which is their culture.
This is the early breakfast that they serve. ‘Scramble egg with Sausage and potato’. The taste for airline food is good. The egg is perfectly done, the sausage is nice and juicy and the potato although is in between mash and very soft. The bread is warm goes very well with the butter. Just a perfect breakfast to be serve.
For the rating I am giving to you guys 10/10. One of the satisfied on board passenger.
Here am I, after 3 hours and 40 minutes of flight, at lastttttttttttt I have reach Hong Kong!!!!.

Genting Trip

It has been a while since I last went to Genting. Went there again last 2 weeks. Didn’t manage to blog yet. Went up there, luckily it has a very good weather. Cold and windy, this is what I am expecting. By the time I reach there, I were so hungry. Didn’t take my breakfast and we took cable car up. Come across this restaurant whereby so many people and have to take number. So we decided to join the crow. My number was 83 and the current number is 74. Asked the waiter how long do we have to wait, he said not long. Great newS!!!

This restaurant has funny name, its called Restaurant Good Friends. It is located directly above the cable car station. We were into the restaurant within 15 minutes of waiting and after we orderd to wait for the food to be served, it is killing me. So Bloody long

This is my favourite tim sum, ‘Lo Pak Gou‘, but does not really taste nice. Very oily as you can see and inside its not soft.

Wow!!! The ‘Siew Mai’ is a must try food, when you eat it, has a big prawn in there, and have the primary school ‘feel’. Reminds me during when I am so damm young.

The ‘Pai Kuat‘ is high recommended also, with the black bean and the gravy of it, it taste so nice and very ‘hiong‘. The meat is soft and definitely with alot of bones also. The ‘Char Siew Pau‘ its juicy with its meat and gravy. Yum! Yum!

This is the ‘Har Kau‘ just ngam ngam whereby the skin of it is not too tick nor too thin. The prawn given is not kedekut. Ngam its size of the skin.

This ‘Loh Mai Kai’ its highly recommended by me also. Its hard to find nice Loh Mai Kai to eat whereby the rice is soft yet juicy and not too salty yet the chicken, meat and mushroom its just perfect. Thinking of it, makes my saliva drooling. With all the waiting for the food. It is just worth waiting.
Total bill comes to around RM33. Was not expensive after all cuz its Genting.
To those who going to Genting, I totally highly recommended this restaurant

After finish our lunch we walk across this bakery shop. So many people were taking pictures with this cupcakes but definitely its well decorated to attract customer to get into the shop. We have decided to go for tea break here. It is just located 4 shops away from Restaurant Good Friends.
With Christmas around the corner, the Ginger Snap cookies.
This is something unique when I was inside the theme park. While waiting to go for the ‘Fairy Wheel’ and a bit hungry so decided to try this stall, Sim O Donut or located next to Solaro Shot
The sizes are so Mini. With 1 mouth per piece and it sells for 6 for RM 5 (if I am not mistaken) Quite alot of flavours also you can pick and choose and the staff there are definitely friendly.
This is what I had pick and choose. I just point and point with no idea what flavour is that. Just judge by its look.
This is one of the newest attraction in Genting outdoor Theme Park. Beryl’s Chocolate factory. The design of it is just so nice and for people who loves to take pictures, a must place to visit. Something like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’
After taking all the rides and walk whole day long, we have decided to come back to this nice looking shop for our tea.
I took this Mushroom Quiche, after so long I have not eat it, Used to eat it a lot when I was working in a cafe in Melbourne. It is quite nice, have the taste of eggs, the cheezey taste and of course with the mushroom.
My friends trying the chocolate chip cup cakes and Mocha. I would personally said that the cupcakes is not nice, my first time trying cupcakes. The texture its hard, the icing sugar sucks and the best is the chocolate chip. Should not go for this flavour. There are more to choose.Try other’s.
The Mocha is RM 10, Cupcakes is RM5 and Quiche is RM8 if not mistaken.
