It had been ages since I last came to this shop. The last time when I came was back to 2009 which I did blog bout it before when I just started blogging (click here). As today I went for my first medical check up, thought of revisit this shop and Just got to know that they have change their name of the shop, from restaurant Living Food to MKP Lam Mee or Uptown Lam Mee (wondering is it the same) which I thought should be as the whole shop setting still the same.

The only difference in this shop is the crowd as I remember few years back, to get a spot in this shop is quite hard, as it was one of a famous Lam Mee shop in Uptown or among the neighborhood as my friend recommend to me.

Well, I still stick to their traditional signature ‘Lam Mee’ whereby the difference compare to Penang we call this ‘Loh Mee’ as our Lam Mee is in clear soup version. You get to choose their thick noodle or thin noodle as I still remember they are famous for their thick noodle. The soup base is still thick and a bit starchy yet still the same taste as I previously ate before the only difference is the texture of the thick noodle had change. Find it a bit sticky not so nice to chew compare to last time and I prefer mine to add on with their 2 small plate of sambal to make it extra kick! If next round I would order, I would go for their thin noodle. I think it would be better.

Only difference between the thing is the noodle and of course price had increase. A plate of Lam Mee, 2 pieces of ‘Fried Sui Kaw’ and 1 chinese tea cost RM10.10.

I did read a few people blog about this place before and I have forgotten on it until my friend brought me there to eat. This mini hawker that makes its mark on its own with the neighborhood is located at the edge of Cao Cao Lamb BBQ Kuchai Lama and Old Klang road that operates from 7pm to finish.

Many stalls to go after as most of them have their own business.

If you are in this hawker center, one of the food that you MUST NOT miss which is the Cao Cao BBQ Lamb. A Family business that operates along with grandmother and son taking care of the business and you can expect to wait long enough of you go during dinner time.

Most people say them are quite lansi but what I get to know from other people saying that they just do for pass time and for fun.

Few slabs of lamb being placed on the hot charcoal bbq pit, grilling it slowly after long marination process.

cau (7)

Every time I go there, I would just eat 2 pieces myself as 1 piece cost RM9, it can be a bit pricy but the quality and taste is there. Grilled to perfection with bbq lining is visible on the meat, its soft and juicy, very aromatic of the lamb and marination taste. Recommended!

I also order Prawn Mee as the soup base colour do looks good. RM5

cau (11)

In KL not many places you can find not bad Prawn Mee with the taste of the soup have strong flavour of prawn shells. Soup base which is quite simliar to Penang, add on chili and its a bit spicy that comes to my liking. No complain on this.

When I walked pass Fried Koey Teow, the smell of it definately makes me want to order! RM5

cau (10)

Then came out of the look not bad, but the taste is abit dry and tasteless. We add in soy sauce to bring up a bit taste of it.

Roasted Chicken Wings, is very common nothing to brag about.

Overall, what I feel is the lamb and prawn mee is good to order, and the rest definately will be back to try more. I also have been told by my friend next to this mini hawker center, the Cantonese Stall offers variety of fried stuff and its pretty good. I’ll definately be back~

Quite some time ago, when I read at the Star, when always comes to the food section it always attracts me and I will save a few copies and in my wanted list in food hunt~ So this is one of the place that interest me as the area had always been in my list of food hunting. When comes to Thai food, who could resist with a great write up article. I have kept the article quite some time till in the end decided to go and hunt for it.

Its located in the heart of the Entrepreneur park and I could not find the place with the printed address and was about to go to next restaurant till my friend ask me why not give it a call, and only realize that they newspaper print the address wrongly which the shop is located on the very next street. A large sign board like this is hard to be notice.

A kopitiam style concept which is nice and clean that divided into two area with air condition and without. You can just feel the heat if you were seated on the outside.

The shop is still new in the area and in the menu they are offering the usual Thai food variety.

In order to cater the lunch crowd which is usually limited with their lunch hours, so they have come out with a lunch menu which I think is quite reasonable as with the pricing comes with a 2 pieces of kuih and a drink with main course. What can you expect more?
They kuih looks nice and as the lady that serve us is very friendly explain to us what is made off and also its fresh but after one bite I had not continue on second bite as it is solid in texture and felt like its had been left overnight, not to my likings.
I have no idea why I am obsess with ‘Fried Pat Thai’. What I feel like its Char koey Teow in thai version, a bit pale in taste yet the noodle is abit strong and solid felt that its not well fried. RM7.50(Set Lunch Set) comparing with the price, I still prefer the one that I had in Pavillion Food court from the Thai Stall.
‘Fried Glass Noodle with Seafood’ as the glass noodles are a bit salty yet still taste not bad if they were to reduce the amount of salt or soy sauce. RM8.50(Set Lunch Set)

‘Green Curry Chicken’ is one of the best choice if you do not know what to order in Thai Food. When it got serve, all of us our face is like arrhhhhh.. why like dat eh, it was quite watery not with the usual curry which is a bit thicker, the taste of it is quite pale as we have tried better ones before. RM8.50(Set Lunch Set)

With us are being very tam chiak I kept looking in the menu see what we can add on order till I found this ‘Thai Otak-Otak’. It would have taste even better if its fried a bit dry but I just enjoy every bite of it.
‘Fried Belacan Rice’ something quite plain nothing to comment on. RM8.50 (Set Lunch Set)
‘Pandan Chicken’ is exactly what we are expecting, fragrance of the pandan leave and well marinated chicken that well fried and ‘Thai Fish Cake’ is something normal to me but my friend enjoy eating it. RM4.25 each.
In Thai food, it would be a lost if ‘Tom Yam Soup’ is not in the list but we were quite full and keen to try on and only request to the lady boss whether we can just get a small bowl of soup just to try on. Surprisingly the soup taste not bad, its a complimentary from the lady boss.

Desert is always in my hit list, and that day so nice that all of them wanted to try a few of it also. So we nearly order the whole range of it.

‘Water Chesnut’ is one of the signature in Thai desert something that I prefer, not too thick in ‘santan’ taste yet the ingrediant added on just combine the taste well. RM3.50

‘Thai Cendul’ looks like something new to me but it taste like bubur Cha cha. Quite thick in taste as what it is to be and its not in my list of favourtie as I don really like Bubur Cha cha. RM3.50
Among the other two, I felt that ‘Thai Sago’ is one of the best with the taste is nice, not so thick not too wattery and we ended up ta pau another 3 bowls for our friend. RM2.50
‘Mango Sticky Rice’ is also one of the signature desert that would always try on and it is fresh from the kitchen. The sticky rice is soft but if the mango were sweet enough that would be the kick of it. RM5.50

I used hate Murni when I was in the college days because the taukeh speak only malay but cannot denied that the business had been whooping good and for the 1st time in my life that a chinese can open a mamak stall with such a good daily business and crowds. The shocking 1 was he conquer the whole street. Never seen in PG before. So recently been constantly me and my friends hang out area.
This is in my hot list favourite which is the ‘Spaghetti Carbonara. With the pricing of RM8 per plate, I am well satisfied with the serving comes in lost of sausages, chicken meat and of course lots of sauce and must tell them you want it hot. If not they will just take the ready made on the side area and pass it to you. That the QC would not be there and it wont be as nice as it is.
2nd in my Fav hotlist also the Roti Hawaii’. With the price of RM5 and the ingredient which they are not kedekut with, it is satisfying, filled with whole piece of chicken burger piece, small chicken cubes and pineapple. But today one was quite cold. So it taste so so only, usually it had one also not enough that type.

This drink I would never miss. Every time that I go, this is the only drink that I order and also in Jumbo size. It is the ‘Mango Special’. RM5 for this also. Filled with nata de coco, watermelon, longan and lychee. not only 1 or 2 pieces, it is many piece to stuff your mouth with.

‘Honey Dew Special’ will be next in the list as filled with the same thing but more milky abit thats what I feel. Compare to Mango, still feel mango taste nicer. RM5 for this.

Of course with the reasonable price and the serving is big, we do not mind coming back.
