Live music has some exceptional ability to soothe someone’s soul. Perhaps the change of voice singing to a familiar tune gives it this ability. Alternatively, maybe this ability comes from the amazing sound quality delivered by the sophisticated musical instruments present at live music venues. However, regardless of the reason, live music has a soothing effect that people love. It seems to understand people’s stresses from all-day toiling and calm them down at the same time. This makes the evening better, and the audience simply relaxes due to its melodic, soothing tunes.

update: 1/5/2016 – close down

Although I studied in Melbourne for 3 years, neither did I know that Melbourne actually famous for Peking Duck. Then I went to Google about it and surpise to see that this outlet Melbourne Peking Duck is actually serve awesome Peking duck that written by many bloggers there. Quickly I watsapp my friend there, and she mention its a recent thing that got pick up over the past 3-4 years. Means it was after I left. Most of you studied there would know this restaurant Old Kingdom, that serve pretty good Chinese dish. Guess what? The master chef is here in this outlet preparing and coordinating all the dish here especially on his specialty Peking Duck.

MElbourne (1)

Now to those who are craving for Melbourne Peking Duck you need not take 747 all the way back there as they have just arrive in KL that started operate right about 2 weeks. The restaurant operate right in the heart of Bangsar or I would say directly opposite Alexis, Bangsar.

Easily to be located and the sign board already very prominent to capture your attention.

MElbourne (2)

As I went up here, the restaurant is still under its final touch as for now on 90% complete.

MElbourne (3)

this is what I meant 90% complete as the final 10% touch up are decorations in the outlet.

MElbourne (4)

I find that the price are pretty reasonable especially with Peking Duck set. With RM 78  you get a peking duck with 3 more dish conversion or RM88 with additional dish. Set 2 definitely capture my attention more.

MElbourne (5)

Chili paste taste awesome is something that you must not miss to add into your fried noodle or even into your peking duck roll.

MElbourne (6)

Here came our order that, the duck neck is long it shows that the duck is roast by hanging. Its shinny skin and roasted smell of the duck   distract our attention in take picture of the duck. Smells so good~

MElbourne (7)

As the crispy duck is ready to be skin, we cant wait to grab a piece of the skin and directly put it into our mouth.

MElbourne (8)

The master chef is here, we are proud to have him back as, at first thought I thought he is from China that resides in Australia. Well, all of us are wrong that he is actually a Malaysian with more than 10 years experience working in a famous restaurant for peking duck also stayed in Melbourne for more than 10 years.

As the chef cut thru the skin, can see moist fats oil oozing out from the meat. Saliva dripping.

MElbourne (10)

Here are the fine cut with sligtly cut meat along and ready to be wrap around. I quickly throw one piece into my mouth, I can sense that more peking duck is calling my name. 😀

The difference between the ducks that I previously had over a restaurant last week (click here) are, Melbourne Peking Duck cut with meat are slightly thicker and fats on beneath the skin just perfect.

MElbourne (11)

Then we were thought how to wrap on the chinese pancake along. Not only that, their pancake is home made fresh in the kitchen upon ordering as you can still feel its steamy hot, and have to quickly do the wrapping while its warm.

Lay the cucumber and spring onion on your 3 o’clock direction, add on your prefered amount  of sweet hoisin sauce, follow by laying the duck skin atop, fold half from 9’oclock to 3 o’clock direction and fold both ends together.

MElbourne (12)

Tadaaa…simple and easy to eat. The taste of crispy skin and duck meat along with the sauces just burst with flavours inside my mouth and I love the taste of the pancake. Think yet aromatic, pairs well with the peking duck. We end up having 2 duckie.

MElbourne (13)

As the duck is being slain, do not miss out duck drumstick. Moist meat with crispy skin on edges, dipping along with the sauce is just perfect.

After we have clear all the skin on the duck, what happen to the meat. Well, remember the set I was mention, it was then further slices the meat out to cook along with other dishes as below:

MElbourne (14)

As we were half full then we ordered Fried pork

MElbourne (15)

Salted Egg Yolk with Butter Chicken.
Buttery butter, balmy chili leaves ,with extremely light and thin ‘egg filament’ .

MElbourne (16)

Stir-fry beansprout with shredded duck meat. I prefer this is something light for me, yet this is the first time I came across bean sprout fried along with duck meat. Turns out to be pretty good.

MElbourne (17)

Homemade Tofu with fish meat

MElbourne (18)

MElbourne (19)

Another well cook dish is Shredded Duck Meat Fried Rice. Fragrant with ‘wok hei’ and the chili paste I mention, just bring the extra flavour out of it.

MElbourne (20)

Shredded Duck Meat Fried Flat Noodle. Stir-fry with dark soy sauce, loads of crunchy bean sprouts and shredded duck meat. We were so full when this dish came. Underestimate the make over of the duck.

MElbourne (21)

One of my favourite of all, its a very different version on the salty veggie duck soup I had as this bends towards more mild taste as after all heavy weight being serve first, this retaurant serve the soup in opposite direction. Its at the end. Something mild and nice to close off my appetite.

As last 2 week I also had peking Duck in another restaurant (click here) and here I am again to hunt for another good one. Verdict, this 1 stood out better.

The restaurant is newly operated do give a restaurant a month or 2 to improve on their dishes. If you are looking for nice Peking Duck, no doubt that this is one of the restaurant to hunt for. Good for you guys that stay nearby there. Recommended on their Peking Duck.

For family outing, here are the menu for your reference

My favorite hang out area, Alexis at Bangsar especially craving for the Tiramisu cake combine with the Mocha there is the best combo. Like this place a lot especially is not too big, just nice, not so much crowd and pretty cozy area to go for my fav desert but for that day, not really hungry so kidnap my friend along to accompany me to eat.

Like this wine rack which I always think will I ever drink that much of wine?

As I am quite hungry so the first item to be order is of course ‘Clam Chowder’ which cost RM16. The soup is thick and creamy, shower with quite a lot of clams and the taste is just so good and the piece of garlic bread makes it a perfect combination.
Saw the table besides us order ‘Garlic Bread’ charge at RM8 which smells very nice and rich in garlic aroma, I also order one lah~ But I tell you, the garlic bread is toast to crispiness on the side and soft in the middle, the garlic spread on top of it and the first bite on it will make you finish the whole plate~

My usual that I would rarely miss to any kind of restaurant when look at Spaghetti section is of course the Carbonara. The order of ‘Spegitti Carbonara’ cost RM 32 . With the price on this plate of carbonara I honestly think its quite expensive with the bacon serve some mushroom and spaghetti. Not the type of carbonara I crave for. This is not very creamy and its near to dry, yet of course do not want to waste the food so finish the whole plate la.

Last but not least, the only thing that must not miss of course their ‘Tiramisu’. The outer layer is filled with crunchy nuts and when comes to the inside, its so soft when you eat it, it melts inside on your tongue. The taste of the cheese, the coffee on the cake and some of the chocolate taste just poison you that make you enjoy every single bite of it. The strawberry syrup is just for the added taste. If you like it you will or you will just ignore it. Highly recommended – RM15

It was my Burffday around the corner and my friends decided to treat me makan. So have read a few review of Itaniannes before gotten here and my friend they pick this restaurant. First time at this restaurant, the feeling it gives is quite a nice Italian restaurant.

With its nice interior and open concept of Pizza kitchen looks good.

The menu is just like is. Good food which is so much and needed to be shared with every one. LOL~ which is pretty true.

With the promotion by some of the bloggers, so we decided to go for this 4 types of spaghetti
Order the drink as in the menu the picture taken in there looks good. As it is ‘Grape Shake’. Then to my suprise, it really taste good. High recommended on this drink. It is very refreshing and feels like pure grape blended and is price at RM8.50 which I think is resonable.

When you were seated down, you will be given this plate of thing which is Vinegar mix with Olive Herb Oil. The reason given to you is to eat with this.

Bread… For me I just spread the butter on the bread and dip it on the olive oil. Taste good but my friend they do not like it.

Start off our meal with ‘Marsala Soup’ which is a few types of mushroom blended together. The soup is quite thick, with milk taste and you can even bite some of the mushroom pieces. Quite a good opening. RM 12.90 for this.
Followed by this ‘Lamb Shank’. It looks good on the display, but honestly it was quite a disappointed dish. It is do not taste good or near tasteless. A lil damm bit of the herb taste, the mash potato taste weird and the lamb meat is medium done which is acceptable, while eating we were complaining and compare to what I had at Alexis is such a huge difference and it cost RM 39.90.
Followed by this ‘Bowls of Pasta’ . RM29.90
Starting off from left 1. Carbonara the most simple of all food, which I do cant really feel the taste of the creamy sauce on it. Although the sauce is thick but a bit too salty and milky taste.
2. ‘Chicken Mushroom’ which is a lil bit spicy compare to the rest and with the first bite in it, it taste nite and as the more you it, it do not taste as delicious as the first bite.
3. ‘Chicken Lasagna’. It is the best compare to those 3 dish, the skin in the lasagna was just nice, not too thick and cheezy taste is there. The mince chicken meet is nicely cook and bake along with it. The aroma of the taste is perfectly match with it.

4. Ciam Bacan Fettucini tasteless in the taste as I believe they use olive oil to cooked it and we have to add a bit salt ourself to make it a lil edible. Compare to the other 3, it was the worst.

As closing meal of the day, end with a lovely Tiramisuwhich must not miss in an Italian restaurant. When they serve it out, I told my friends that this must be the best dish for the night. It was freshly made, as I can still see the shining of the cream and about to melt. The first bite of the tiramisu is just makes my closing of the meal the most perfect. Nice fresh cream they are using, and the coffee taste of the bread and the cocoa powder makes it blend in your mouth well. I must say that, to get a nice Tiramisu, this 1 definitely in my A list. Highly recommended. It is only RM16.90 quite cheap for such a big piece.

In a nice restaurant and during weekdays, the service is sure first class. Like a wait or waitress standby, just by you looking at them, they are ready to serve you. Your meal bout to finish, they are about to help you change the plates. Only one thing is very annoying whereby 9.30pm, we did not ask for bills and they just ask us to pay directly without asking first. Total bill comes to RM118.90 which is a bit pricy for the quality of the main course that they are serving. It is like, ‘Please pay and bye bye, I want to go back soon’ Ish…really hate that. At least notify. For me, I totally BANNED this restaurant for the time being of the food quality. Maybe will try again some where in the future.
