One of the new discover place that was introduce by Nancy and Collen that is one of their favourite Laksa Stall around Ayer Itam area. For me, I never really liked the one at the Ayer Itam Market which I find it too commercialize and the taste is so so only. So I was brought to this laksa at Ayer Itam Round about located right opposite Sui Wah Supermarket.

Laksa (1)

Then comes to this little area where you are heading towards direction of Penang Hill, locate this few little hawker stall that packed with local and outstation people that are hunting for the food. Duck Meat Koey Teow th’ng is one of a must try item.

Laksa (2)

Then this laksa stall that alot of people are coming for.

Laksa (3)

They have been operating here for quite some time

If you happen to drive by Raja Uda which is another part of Penang at Mainland that is famous for alot of hawker food too. . . One of the stalls that I often hear from my cousins or friends from around that area is a few restaurant and stalls that must not miss to eat. One stall in particularly that run by the whole family itself that enjoy brisk business for very long time. For last round I went back to Penang I particularly force my friends to go over to this area to dine with me .. ehehe

ham chee peng (1)

As I remember a stall that is famous for the Yew Char Kuih and Ham Chi Peng is nearby a mini food court only my friend told me that they have move to a new location which is bigger and brighter.

Hardly you will miss this stall as its usually flock with alot of people and nearby the famous temple along Jalan Raja Uda too or famous  Fish Head Steamboat next too it.

ham chee peng (2)

All their items are made fresh and serve pippin hot from the wok after being deep fried.

Many of the siblings are helping out from making process and some of them taking care of the deep fried process.

ham chee peng (5)

Price wise still did not change much starting from RM0.70 at the most of RM0.20 increase as compare to 2 – 3 years ago. .  I love their Horse Leg, Ham Chi Peng, Yew Char Kuih as I ate it this round and forgot to take pictures. Apologize!

If you happen to be in the area, this is one of the stall that you must not miss. Its a recommended stall by me .. 😀

What is Bersih?  As according to Wikipedia, Bersih is Walk of Democracy organised by the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih), was supported by Pakatan Rakyat, the coalition of the three largest opposition parties in Malaysia but was deemed illegal by the government. (source from Wikipedia).

For the past 2 weeks, social media had spread the news on this rally till it had wide spread across the globe, even several other countries online newspaper portal also mention on it.  As  today they consider the second version of Bersih 2.0, to walk down the streets for the cause and alot people are with their devices especially on Twitter with #bersih tag and Facebook to check on the latest updates.

Many creative Malaysians out there take the opportunity to show their wonderful picture editing skills to entertain alot of people for a pic such as below I found over Facebook:

 Christiano Ronaldo Supporting it?

Even Bumble bee came to help and protect . . (source from FB)

and more pictures of what is happening today . . .

Even ah ma also came by to supprt . .(Pictures from FB Bersih 2.0)

also great pictures from Aljazeera news from Sudan

One thing I do understand from today’s event is that I see all people from across all kinds walk of life no matter what races had gather as one (Malay, Chinese, Indian, and many more races in Malaysia), and I actually find that the if to gather Malaysians together they are so strong, as this is where I truly believe the  spirit of 1Malaysia, that had reach Malaysians across around the world (Australia, Hong Kong, London and a few more) for the love of the country.

Full story can be read at Malaysiakini on this event . .Malaysia Insider talks back on Bersih 2007 or you can search in Youtube for more videos

AS I wish to share this Superb Transformer clip video (click here) with you guys that I found on Facebook which I think is a compilation of 1.0 and 2.0

Continue our food hunt, as direct after the Wan Tan Mee (click here), then our next station that Jasonmumbles rarely miss when he is back to Melaka is one of his favorite stall, Hajjah Mona Asam Pedas which he rate one of the best Asam Pedas that he come across so many stalls which Asam Pedas also know as one of Melaka delicacies.

Asam Pedas (1)

As I have been to the famous Jonker Street (from Donald and Lily’s Restaurant) and I did not know that by walking distance of around 5 – 10 minutes you are able to reach this stall which is located to the newly build hotel by the river if I am not mistaken.

Asam Pedas (2)

This place is damm pack with alot of people with its famous asam pedas that attracts many outstation customer also.

Asam Pedas (4)

The Asam Pedas is prepared fresh daily to cater for their demanding crowd. . .

Asam Pedas (3)

Then you just choose what type of fish you want and choose the extra side dish like egg, chicken, fried fish and others.

Asam Pedas (5)

This would be the normal set that every one would order, asam pedas with a plate of white rice and smack with a fried egg.

Asam Pedas (6)

Of course I always prefer mine with salty duck egg . ..

Asam Pedas (8)

Asam Pedas (7)

Famous for Asam Pedas with their mild curry which is not so spicy yet a bit fragrant and perfect to eat with rice.

Asam Pedas (9)

According to Jason, their taste is not consistent as usually he would usually order a plate of Asam pedas to try first as if the taste for the night is at the best, he would order more. . and if the taste is not on par, he would just finish just one plate, and on that night we had, he said that their quality was not at their best so had just only one order.

Food Rating 8/10, not my taste but Jason Loves it alot . .u can try it out ~-Stamped-

Taiwan Trip Day 4 –> Jinguashi’s Gold Ecological Park –> JiuFen –> Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall –> Miramar Mall

On the fourth day, we woke up very early again and can just feel the heat start to burn on our skin and knowing it going to be another hot day. Having breakfast on the go and heading to Taipei Main Station to visit this wonderfull place Jiufen that most of my friend its a MUST go place if you are in Taiwan. We are heading there with a group of new friends which most of them are Indonesians but studying there for quite some time arleady.

They seriously have a huge big station compare to our mini KTM station which is half dead also or KL Central which I presume something similiar but very far behind with the user friendly access and really Main station compare to ours.

Sawadee kap…. Sa Baai Dee Mai?Sa baai Dee Sui Mak Mak will introduce you some very nice Thai foooddd sir and madammmm… Ah Roy Thai Cuisine.

I have always miss the language of Thai with their greetings. Sounds so lovely. How nice if you can hear people speak Thai language in a restaurant but for us Thai food had always been one of our local favourites. Who can deny more than a very nice good thai food without travelling far? I would have to say that a double celebration that had made me expose to this great thai authentic restaurant around Leisure Mall area.

I might have pass around that area a couple of times, only this event make me realise on it as infront of the shop there is a a few malay stalls that overshadow the restaurant but it did not stop the locals going to this restaurant.

Ah Roy Thai

A warm and classic thai restaurant that with simple decoration of thai umbrellas and the origin chef with great experience that being the reason of the good food.

One of the very authentic food that could hardly find in other restaurant is this ‘Thai Tradisional Leaf Wrapped Savouries(Mieng Kam)???????’ RM12 that filled with very authentic flavour using a traditional leave to wrap all the ingredient on it and just eat.

The leave is freshly plug and carefully choose by the owner. That is the secret of this dish. Alot of people will be quite disappointed if they find this item sold out or do not have on that day.

Ah Roy Thai (6)

I forgot what is the name of this dish already but its like Durian. You either love it or hate it but as for me I find it not bad as the taste is quite spicy that can nearly chocked my throat yet the sourness is to the extend will mild out the spiciness.

Ah Roy Thai (19)

This pot of thing, its highly recommended to order it big. Sour and spicy that excites my my taste bud filled with some squid, prawns, crab and some other seafood pieces is just something I could not explain for more.

Ah Roy Thai (10)

If spiciness is something you cannot withstand then ‘Green Curry Chicken ????’ would be a good choice. Very mild in taste yet a bowl of rice is the best companion. (S)RM15 (B)RM25

Ah Roy Thai (14)

‘Steam Fish In Thai Style ????'(Seasonal Price)No fishy smell and soft fish meat show’s the sign of freshness level is there and the soup steam base of the fish is classic authentic thai taste, sour level is high and its just good.

Ah Roy Thai (13)
