Little did I know that, there is a hidden bar right above Bangsar Village – Mantra Bar & Lounge that made them a roof top bar. It was a recent discovery over Corona Sunset Hour launch that happened at that bar.

Corona (1)

Corona Sunsets Hour was brought to life by an activation part of “This is Living” global campaign, which is Corona’s everyday take on the happy hour. Mantra Bar & Lounge is a perfect venue to be part of it by enjoying the sunset on a rooftop can be a great escape from the busy city’s hustle and bustle. So, Corona took it up a notch with Sunsets rooftop celebration where guests joined the immersive concept consisting of a unique blend of specially commissioned soundtracks, bespoke interiors. To embody the spirit of ‘Sunsets’ Hour, guests were encouraged to #sharethesunset by wearing Corona Sunsets Tattoos and got their faces painted, to stand a chance to win a personalised Corona Sunsets Moment worth RM2000! Adding icing to the cake, the versatility of the brew’s flavours were showcased by concocting two enticing cocktails Corona Sour and Corojito mixed with a medley of spirits and liqueurs, all with Corona as their base.

Love the ambiance of the bar and the interior of it. Look posh and comfy. They have 2 seating area. Indoor and outdoor.

I have heard so much about this place or even when their first outlet open in The Curve, I have always keen to try it out. Well, it had been a while and now they even have their second branch since last year at Bangsar Village 2. Indeed I was lucky actually as it had been a while since I last surf for groupon in website and then I found this deal that they are doing 50% off on cash voucher. Without any hesitation purchase and of course would want to try this out.

senjyu (1)

I also read some blog that Senjyu, which means “eternity of life”. Sounds good, its like eating this then you got eternity of life. Of course to eat some fresh sashimi, its always good to choose to go either on Tuesday or Friday. Therefore I made my reservation on Friday.

senjyu (3)

If there were only 2 of us, I would always prefer to sit at the sushi counter. To see them make all this delicious sushi its an added advantage and most of the chef would talk to you and also would get to see what specialty they are making then we can order.

senjyu (2)

By looking at this panel, I am already drooling as the freshness of the oyster and octopus are flown in fresh right in the morning itself.

senjyu (4)

All the sashimi here are cut fresh . .

senjyu (5)

Even still slicing one of the salmon. The head chef is very friendly and telling me that what I should try some of their sashimi and some which is recommended by him.

senjyu (6)

Ambiance of this outlet is pretty decent like not 5 star fancy restaurant but good enough to reflect a modern Japanese dining.

senjyu (7)

I was here very early, as about 6pm and the whole shop is still warming up and i am their second customer.

senjyu (8)

There are a few items in the menu that I am keen to try.

senjyu (9)

Since the chef say his fish are really good, so I order a mix to try it out. Iso Mariawase @ RM 68

senjyu (10)

Love this whole platter as its really fresh. Serve slightly chilled and the fish meat texture are all good. For me I find that the oyster is too big for me to handle as I prefer it to be smaller as my own preference.

senjyu (11)

Soft Shell Crab Roll  as the sushi being fried a little before being serve out. Find that its a little soggy after that. @ RM 28

senjyu (12)

Chicken Teriyaki Zen @ RM 26

senjyu (13)

chicken cook to perfection that its still soft and teriyaki sauce coated well onto the meat. Perfect to go along with rice yet not too salty.

senjyu (14)

Beef Sukiyaki Zen as the soup I find it can be further improve more or maybe I have quite like the taste of what SuKi-Ya is offering. @ RM 48

senjyu (15)

Beef slices are fresh too, as the colour of it already tells its good stuff.

senjyu (16)

as for Ika Karage I find it good value @ RM10 is kind pretty hard to find.

senjyu (17)

Garlic Fried Rice @ RM 7

senjyu (18)

Gindara Houbayaki is actually cod fish, one of my favourite fish to go along. Sad part is this is a seasonal item in this outlet as I am trying their special menu for the month. The sauce is too thick that cover the fish taste and its over cook too for my cod fish. Did not even finish the whole fish which is a sad thing. Well, would still stick to my typical cod fish style in the future. @ RM 48

In Bangsar Shopping complex, I have yet try many restaurants around the area, but I do know that this outlet sure do serve very nice and fresh sashimi. I now do know where to hunt for one when I am craving for it at a reasonable price. For other of their food item are pretty decent and nothing much to shout about.

3 little pig (25)

Mighty Piggy Burger @ RM24 A medium size pork patty, cheese, fried egg, herbed mayo sauce served with fries and house salad. Not bad as the patty are season with some light spices too. If the yolk are half cook then it would have been perfect.

3 little pig (26)

What is your reaction when your friend ask you to dine in Bangsar? For me is usually errr, got other place ah? lack of budget lei go there makan. . . Well, before on a journey head back to Penang  my friend just tell me, do not worry about that as it would not burn a hole in your pocket yet you will enjoy the food that we will recommend you is Restaurant Sin Lai Ping.

chu char (1)

When reaching, I said, ahh good good at least something different and I can help to promote in Bangsar. This corner shop which is Restaurant Sin Lai Ping that are not sooooo pack with people yet my friend mention that this is one of the best Chu Char stall that they happen to come across and used to come here at least once a week. This kopitiam is tug at another side of Bangsar or I would say opposite old Bangsar Village is one of the hidden gem I recently discover if you are looking for cheap and nice eat in Bangsar.

chu char (2)

This is one of my friends favourite, Butter chicken that is very aromatic as the gravy is creamy thick with a bit of spiciness at the end as they fried along with chili padi. Chicken is well fried with crispy skin on top and you definately have to eat along with rice as to eat it raw like that its a bit salty. – Recommended!

chu char (3)

Next is this unique dish that I am ordering as I always used to order salted egg chicken, fish but never with squid. It turns out to be good as the squid is fresh and chewy and the are able to fried the salted duck egg stick along with the squid.

chu char (4)

A simple KangKung Belacan fried to perfection. Just loving it. .

chu char (5)

Claypot Pork Belly, is another dish that must not miss, well blend of taste with dry chili, thick soy sauce and a perfect combination with rice.

chu char (6)

Best of all, they provide free soup upon request.

I must say that this place is definitely a highly recommended place by me if you are looking for nice and cheap Chu Char around the area as its worth the price we are paying and its more on the cheap side. Total for dinner is about RM 70 for 4 pax. Highly Recommended~

How many of you do you actually dine or yum cha at local kopitiam especially on local franchise chain? Often that we do not have satisfactory food or drinks in certain outlet. It was not until recently that Carmen insist to bring me here for the main reason they serve pretty good food for a franchise chain and second because her friend operate this outlet. This outlet certainly have my vote in ..

Hailam (1)

This shop is located at one of my favourite Pork Ball Noodle Kopitiam (click here) which is directly behind is this Hailam Kopitiam, also facing directly Bangsar Village.

Hailam (2)

A place that you can dine quite cozy with marble tables and wooden chairs, as there are alot of fans in the ceiling that keeps the cool air around.

Hailam (3)

They have pretty wide range of food and drinks and price wise I find it rather cheap compare to another 2 brands. One good thing about this shop as it is a HALAL kopitiam.

Hailam (4)

Hailam (5)

Traditional Hazelnut White Coffee, Ice Roasted Coffee and Hailam Milk Teao

Hailam (7)

Passion Fruit & Dragon Fruit Shake @ RM 7.50

Hailam (8)

Traditional Hailam Tea and Traditional Hailam Roasted Coffee @ RM3.20

I am not really a coffee drinker as most of my friend know, as I drink coffee I have the opposite effect which is getting sleepy. One thing that really love is the coffee here. Certainly beats quite a number of places that the taste of coffee is robust, well blend, strong in aroma and did not go too milky. If you are here, certainly its a recommended drink!

Hailam (9)

A simple Toasted Sliced Bread with Butter & Kaya @ RM2.50 where you think most of us can do it at home, I just do not know what is the trick that it can be toasted out crispy and with one bite, you can see the crumbs dropping off and a simple spread of butter and kaya makes it a simple bites to be wobble down. Must eat it while it is freshly out from the toaster! If you pair this with the hot coffee and  half boil egg it would be the most perfect combination of all!!

Hailam (10)

For the price of RM 7.20 for Chicken Deluxe Sandwich, it is certainly reasonable in price with generous amount of ingredient added in, chunks of chicken and vege with sauce evenly spread makes it nice to eat.

Hailam (11)

Tuna Egg Sandwich @ RM5.20

Hailam (12)

Star of the night is this Hailam Chicken Chop with Original Sauce. We never expect a chicken chop will taste so good and impress us so far at this kind of restaurant chain. It is juicy and tender, as the meat is not dry, sauce is well balance that I just requested for another bowl of sauce to make it gravvyyyy enough for me on the chicken and fries. Recommended!  RM14.20

Hailam (13)

A dish of Mix Fried Mee (Fried Ying Yeong) especially with HALAL status, caught us by surpise that it was fried perfectly with wok hei, that certainly can match with many chinese hawker center area on quality. I just had this again when I was meeting my friend there 2 hours ago. It is satisfied, and my malay friend find it delicious.Recommended! RM7.80

Hailam (14)

I always love to try tomyam fried rice, not many places that can fried this to my likings, either too powdery, or the taste is too strong. Then find that Hailam Tomyam Fried Rice offer in this shop is well balance in taste, with a bit of sourish and spicy that comes to my liking. RM8.80

Hailam (15)

A simple malaysian delicacies which is Nasi Lemak Special with Rendang Ayam, with rice is very fragrant with coconut milk that serve along with thick curry gravy and eat along with the sambal just goes along very well. RM9.60

Hailam (16)

Fried Kuey Teow another dish that surprise us. Fried with enough wok hei, till the koay teow is very fragrant and while smelling it, already makes a lot people hungry. After the first bite into our mouth, we were stun! the taste is very similiar to the ones in Penang, not only that, it was fried without pork lard and we just cannot imagine that if the chef can fried with pork lard, this dish will be a big hit among many people. Recommended!

Hailam (17)

Hailam Fried Mee/ Hailam Mee @ RM8.50

Hailam (18)

Curry Noodle

I know that many franchise chain food are quite disappointing, but when comes to this outlet, I would want to say that their food certainly outstanding compare to other shops and I have went back here a few times since I was brought by Carmen that I must thank her now, even now I know where to bring my Malay friends when they crave for nice chinese  HALAL food.
