I travel to Bandung last month and alot of my friends told me that town is not only famous for factory outlet is also a food paradise. I felt that there is like Penang where Bandung Street Food is also one of a must to do. Most of their hawker on the street are very nice. Simple just dip into one of the road side hawker then get the taste of it. Our first stop for the day while we were shopping at Dago area, we try out Durian Ice Cream which cost RM3.50 for a cup with durian meat in there.

A few scoop of ice cream. . .

street food 1 (3)

and add on their local brand Indomilk Susu Kental Manis Cokelat and carnation on the topings.

street food 1 (2)

The ice-cream is soft and it taste like the one I had when I was a kid, not too sweet and the durian meat flavour was not strong enough as I like. . .Overall its quite a good catch for RM3.50. . . You can just find it any where along most of the streets . ..

street food 1 (5)

As we walk further up nearby Citibank there are a few Warong located next to the bank and we were already very hungry as walk n shop the whole morning. . . try out de Robi Batagor with Kuah Kering. . .

street food 1 (6)

Indo version of fried wanton and fried taufu mix along with peanut sauce and sweet sauce. Freshly fried dip with the sauce is not bad lah` ID 6500 . ..

street food 1 (7)

Usually in Indonesia, Baso is one of the food that I would not miss. I just love their chili that added into the soup.

street food 1 (8)

The ingredient steam first then added their very own style of soup.

street food 1 (9)

street food 1 (10)

This is Baso Soup with Bee Hoon and Mee added. Added with lots of their chili to make the whole bowl spicy in taste. Just that this soup sold by this guy did not meet my expecatation.

street food 1 (11)

Then head to next area while we were shopping at House of Mode, Setiabudi area. . We try out ES Campur Special that added many ingredient inside like coconut, sago jelly, cincau, lychee and some others. To me, if it is less sweet abit then it would be perfect.

street food 1 (12)

Next to House of Mode, Batagor Riri is one of the stall that highly recommended by a few blogger from Indonesia. Batagor means (Fried Taufu) which is originate from Bandung and it had been so famous till spread to many places in Bandung.

street food 1 (13)

As the lady saw me doing some photoshoot, the offer let me take pic of the taufu before fried.

street food 1 (14)

This is after freshly fried and you must eat it while it is hot. Fried Taufu and Siew Mai squeeze with lime and a bit add on with the stall special chili, is just nice, crispy on the edge and the peanut sauce is thick and nice.

street food 1 (15)

Then when we saw a Warung filled with many people which is the Mie Ayam Pangsit Special.

street food 1 (16)

street food 1 (17)

Its is filled with half bowl of soup and chili sauce with another type of local special sauce to add in the kick of it and after mix it till all the chili coated onto the mee as what others do. . .The noodle is a bit springy and for a local taste like that I would say it taste pretty good for just ID 5000.

street food 1 (18)

Next to it Den Han Klappertaart is another one of a famous brand in Bandung.

street food 1 (19)

A few flavour is available.

Use bread to baked with huge slices of coconut yet have to eat it warm as if eating custard.

This street snacks I had it at Setiabudi (next to House of Mode) . . .

Part 2 of street food is coming soon .. .

If you miss home cook food, The Strand Kota Damansara do have one home cook food is pretty good which I had blog before (click here). Now, with their dishes getting popular and with quality of food that they cook are without MSG has extended their menu for more choices. Mum’s Seafood Noodle

Mums (1)

Mum’s Seafood Noodle @ RM 13.80, RM18.80 for special

Imagine the taste of the soup when it is cook with abalone slices, fish fillet, squids, prawns, bamboo clams & 珍珠鲍贝, the taste of the soup is definately sweet and aromatic with the KL version, a bit milky. I always prefer my noodle with bee hoon.

Mums (3)

Bean Paste Steamed Garoupa @ Market Price

Mums (2)

For a person who love steam fish, then you would want to order this special black bean sauce that had been slightly modified by them. It is perfectly to go along with rice, with a bit sweet sour taste and the best is they added some pork lard onto the sauce that makes it very aromatic.

Mums (6)

Stuffed Squid @ RM 18.80  stuff with solid minced prawns & pork braised in premium soy sauce been cook perfectly that makes it skin a bit chewy and the ingredient in it is soft.

Mums (7)

Pork lover like me, would not miss their ‘Lor Bak’, they do not use mince pork but use strips of it to be added into and wrap it finely, so that after fried, the skin could attach onto the meat also marinate with 5 spices  herbs.  RM 9.80

Mums (8)

One of my favourite dish for the night is ‘Salted Egg Yolk Fish Head’ that had been fried perfectly crispy then cook along with salted egg, coated all over the skin makes it a bit salty, crispy and I could just finish this by myself.              RM 16.80

Mums (9)

When go for fried or home cook food, it will never be complete for me without ordering any curry. ‘Curry Fish Head’, mild curry that is just right to go along with rice. I banjir my rice with this curry.

Mums (10)

I never really like petai, but this dish ‘Petai Prawns‘ cook along with big juicy prawns, onions and petai, as they have tone down the taste of petai which is not that strong. This dish was gone in 30seconds. Some of them also don even manage to taste but just get to smell. RM 15.80

Mums (11)

‘Jiuhu Char’ is one of the dish that must order. Cook till its a bit juicy and crispy with bangkuang, to eat it, can either eat it just like that or the best is to wrap it with lettuce add some sambal on top to add in the extra kick. RM 10.80

Mums (12)

Nyonya Chicken are cook by using kampung chicken, therefore the taste of it is more nice that cook along with some spices that comes out with thick in gravy coated on the chicken. RM 16.80

Mums (13)

Asam Fish @ Market Price, sour and spicy gravy with soft fish meat is something to look forward to make it more appetizing.

Mums (14)

Acar that taste sour and spicy.

Mums (15)

Fried Roasted Pork, first bite you will find it delicious, 2nd bite eat it raw like that you will start to find it salty, as this dish are meant to eat along with rice.

It was another satisfying meal at Mum’s Seafood.

In our package to Redang, food was included. Can say that the food is worst than the food in my company canteen.
Arrival of Day 1 lunch:
The vegie is tasteless. Have to add soy sauce on myself to bring up the taste a bit.
The fish is not really fresh and the tomato in the meal is just more like a decoration rather than the taste.

Fried Wantan with our rice?seems abit weird. Eating more of the skin rater than then the meat in it~

The ABC soup is more like a hot water and just chuck in the rest of the ingredient and leave it to boiling point and then ready to be serve.

The Curry Chicken is thick in sauce but mild in flavour. Cant really pick up the gravy from it as it is thick! The chicken is slightly over cook.

Day 1 Seafood Dinner:

The chicken wing in s not bad, as they are well kept on fire temperature to pangang it~

The lamb was a bit disappointed because it is very chewy and hard to bite offf. More like the meat is overcook and tasteless!

Normal sausage. Just that for breakfast~

Didnt even bother to try cuz just normal fish ball as my friend said.

Cant take beef. So no Idea.

The food gravy is nice. Well wrap but just that wrap not enough compact the sauce can just season abit and sock it in~

Day 2 : Morning Breakfast

Normal sial Maggie Hon…
Sial punya bee hoon.
Day 2 : Morning Breakfast
Didnt enjoy the food much, just that I prefer to take toast there and toast myself~
The food there, was not nice till I don have the mood to take any more. The people in here Kira can kenyang then okay loh,. by their look.

This restaurant always caught my curiousity to try on the restaurant as the place seems okay and quite crowded occasionally. So it was Saturday and do not know what to eat then thought of this restaurant and need to get someting at Sg.Wang also. It was quite empty when I reached. So chose to sit on the swing area.
Usually in a restaurant when I saw there is a ‘Jasmine Green Tea with pearl’ I would just order it. The taste of course would not too sweet. The pearl is very nice, not too soft but very chewy. The kind that I prefer. RM4.90

My friend she ordered Fizzi Ribena with Lemon’. It is quench thrist drink. So refreshing after drinking it. Not too much Ribena syrup on it and just nice and the lemon taste with the ribena goes along well. RM5.50 which I think it is kinda expensive for Ribena and a slice of lemon.

In the menu, there is not much food to choose from.

In the menu, what looks interesting in the picture was this ‘Crispy Chicken Rice’. It came out someting similar on the picture but with dissapointment on the taste, it is not good at all. The chicken slice is so thin till like you are eating the crispyness of it all the time. The gravy sauce taste geli. More like a clear watery mushroom sauce. Ended up did not finish the meal also.RM11.90 for this.
My order was ‘Curry Laksa‘ as I suddenly crave to eat that on that moment. When it came, I asked my friend did I order curry laksa or tomyam soup. Then ask the waiter and he said that it is Curry laksa. Shit!!! I have never seen curry laksa which is so watery till like tomyam soup or prawn mee. By the look itself already can judge that it is no good.
Both of us was staring at it and I take my first sip of the soup. As expected. With big disappointment!!! In the bowl have only a few pieces of chicken cubes, the long beans taste no good, the soup is so watery just like you boil a bowl of hot water and just add on some of the paste you can get it in Giant or Carrefour. I order Bee Hoon and Mee then ended up with Bee Hoon. I did not finish my food also. Too hard to swallow. RM8.90(not worth at all)Please change name to Chicken Mee or Tom Yam soup with added Chili in it.
In this restaurant, to go for a drink it is definitely good. But to go for the food, me and my friend totally no next time. BANNED!!!!
After that we decided to head to the second stall for desert on the other end.

I have always wanted to try this Jemput tree out, so when I reach Pg directly ask my friend meet me here. Get to know that they serve local and western cuisine so should be not a bad place as usually I drive pass by.
When I reached there I am pretty surprise how they decorate the place as usually drive pass through then can just have a glance. This is the main entrance to the hang out area which is very interesting.

Their beverage area to serve drinks.

The seating area have a few style which you can choose too, as nearby the entrance there all the tables in the middle is filled with sand and sea shells and lights around it. So would be like mini candle light place.
This is one of the private hut that can accommodate around 6 pax. Since we were there early and not many people so we get to choose the place. Very nice and cozy area to chat and hang out among friends.
After sited down and walk around only realise that the have another lagi private 1 which is on the 1st floor. Cool, maybe some where in the future will tag my friend here for celebration of b’day. lol~

They serve western, pasta and local cuisine. Price is reasonable.

Order the drinks of ‘Ice Lemon Tea’ and ‘Sour Plum Iced’. Both of the drinks are up to expectation as both also priced at RM3.50 each.
As I was quite full from very late lunch, so my friend order ‘Mushroom Soup with garlic bread’. Would not really introduce this soup as it is thick but then not much taste. More like milk taste and taste a bit weird. The garlic bread is nice, maybe can order separately. RM5.90 for this.
Outside from restaurant, I would recommend this dish ‘Polo Funghi. It taste very nice, had the taste of the sweet tomato with the blend cheeze definitely a good selection. Only RM 14.90

Then I order the Tomyam Noodle’, as you get to choose Maggie Noodle, Bee Hoon or Mee. Quite alot of ingredients inside, with prawns, mushroom, and veggies but as always the prawn is not fresh in most of the stalls for tom yam soup. The taste of the soup is more sour than spicy, if they add a bit more spicy it will be just nice. RM7.90 for this.
As in the end, the bill comes in total of RM36 which I think is reasonable for the environment they provide yet the prices is not extremely expensive or cheap.

Remarks: Please wear long pants, if not the mosquito will enjoy food fest.
