I guess to many of us that when we dine in Lammeeya, it is pretty straight forward that they are famous for their signature Lammeeya, Lam Mee. One of their outlet in Uptown Damansara offers more than that. That they do offer home cook delicious dish on their extended menu which mostly had started off with this menu.

Lameeya (1)

I have heard many good things about this branch that their taste is always consistent and in tip top that hardly disappoint you. This is not my first time here, as I have came here a few times that I did not blog about it till  now. 😀

Lameeya (2)

If you come here during lunch time, you will have a massive hard time finding carpark as Uptown already famous for their congested area, and one of the best time to come and dine of course after work hours, which is much easy to find car park compare to day time. Not only that, to find  a seat in the restaurant would be much easier too.

Lameeya (3)

In this outlet, interior of the outlet which is a bit more contemporary compare to other outlets you have seen and you shall see more of the new concept from Lammeeya on other outlets as they plan to upgrade.

Lameeya (4)

In this outlet they also offer cakes which is made by them too . .

Their Lam Mee including prawns and own home made pork ball, and soup base gravy is thick as I usually eat and to make it more best, I usually add on two mini bowl of sambal they provide as I love mine to be spicy.

Lameeya (12)

If you have work outside quite often and miss some home cook soup, they do offer some double boil soup to please you and the taste of the soup is just there, brings out the right amount of taste that pair very well with inside ingredient that they have added in.

1) Watercrest Soup

2) Old cucumber soup

If you want some simple dish to make you satisfy or craving for some sort of Penang, Char Koey Teow, they do cook it very near to our style and its a recommended dish by me as the koey teow is cook to perfection with wok hei and its not spicy. For me I just love mine to be extra spicy, one thing that make it good is because they cook along with Duck Egg.

Lameeya (14)

Another super star dish of the night which is Stew Pork with Potato.I know, I know, its simple dish that we used to eat it from home cook or economy rice? How many actually can cook it till very nice and this is exceptional that when it was serve with the aroma flying around our nose, it was instantly rape and gone within seconds. – Recommended! @ RM 19.80

Lameeya (17)

Chu kiok chow.. one of the favourite terms that my friend always like to use as it is one of his favourite dish, as whenever he come across the availability he would never miss to order it as he always compare back with his grandmother style. For this round, he hardly commented because it was perfectly cook, with the meat is soft, and some juicy fats is thick yet it had been boil for long enough to make it soft that nearly melts on your tongue. The salty sauce is just right not too salty yet with enough of rice wine to make it aromatic. To go along with rice is the perfect combination for this.

Lameeya (18)

Wine chicken that cook along with herbs and lots of ginger. Some of you might like it or hate it with one of the reason the wine is pretty powerfull. Well, to me i am good with it as for a dish like this, I always prefer it to be in stronger taste.

Lameeya (19)

Hee, why why we do not go for white rice as they have the option of Pork Lard Oil rice that cook in mini claypot. Surely, it brings the omph in with so many dish that we can pair along.

Lameeya (20)

You and I might have the same thought on looking down this dish which is Ginger & Wine Omelet @ RM 19.80. This simple dish proves us wrong when we had a bite of it. With strong fried egg taste and did not over cook as the wine taste just blend in very well.

Lameeya (21)

One of my childhood favourite dish, simple yet delicious. Steam Pork with Dong Choy @ RM 19.80 – REcommended

Lameeya (22)

Lameeya (24)

4) Chocolate mud cake which is pretty good that is not too sweet, warm with chocolate oozing out. – REcommended

Lameeya (29)

For desert, the super star that blew our mind away is this Banana Crepe with the warm banana dressing which is cook and  made on the spot, that pairs very well with the aromatic crepe. Ice cream to compliment along with the hot and cold sensation enough to make your teeth numb. – Highly Recommended!!

Being a guy from Penang, truly I have not really discover much about Penang food until CK bring the rest of us to a few places and indeed only understand that actually Penang has a lot of good food to offer. The first stop of my last holiday was to Beach Street whereby I used to pass here most of the time and did not even realize that, this small coffee shop has great food to offer that just located directly infront of the fire station.

Kam Ah

The shop start their business quite early and while we were there was already around 11something an it was full house but our luck was there on that day, manage to spot a very last table in that shop.

Kam Ah (2)

What was highly recommended by CK was this particular ‘Nutmeg Drink’ which is the signature drink of the shop. The drink was blended nutmeg purely added with asam boi and water added up the whole cup. I cant really take the flavor of nutmeg because of the taste but in this coffee shop, I just drank 2 glass. Very refreshing and thirst quencher that suits the hot weather in this area. RM 2.50

Kam Ah (3)

While I was seated down, and I notice this beef noodle seriously enjoying brisk business, non stop the customer pouring in, dining in and ta pauz.

Kam Ah (4)

You will never see a hawker owner which cooks till so happy yet passionate on what they do every day yet very friendly to their customer.

Kam Ah (5)

Here am I enjoying my well prepared beef noodle for my breakfast.

Kam Ah (6)

The taste of the soup base is quite mild yet suiting to most people who dislike strong flavor but I just love my bowl that filled with soft koey teow noodle and mee yet with most of the beef spare parts (tender beef slice, softly braised cow stomach and beef balls) RM 7 for a small bowl which is enough for me.

What CK told me was, if you want a strong aromatic flavour which I like it alot should go after 12.30pm which most of the beef was already soak into the soup that makes the soup base stronger taste. Best time to go around 1.00-1.30pm.

Kam Ah (7)

Another stall that must not miss which is the ‘Fried Oyster’.

Kam Ah (8)
Frying the base of the egg in the hot plate.

Kam Ah (9)

We had to plate, we started on with the ‘Crispy Fried Oyster’. Crispy on all the edge of the egg yet we just enjoying the crunch inside our mouth yet enjoying every piece of the oyster, dipping in with the chili sauce given just add on the extra taste. We enjoy bite of it.

Kam Ah (10)

Next plate to introduce was the original ‘Fried Oyster’ soft version a bit jelly’ish. My first encounter was this plate then only later found out that I love the crispy version more. RM5

Surely it was a good experience for breakfast yet I will come again around lunch time to try on their thicker version of soup base but the parking in the area is a pain in the ass. Have to park whenever you see a spot and walk over. Thanks to CK for bringing me and BBO to this place.

This trip back to Penang I have not much time to hunt back my favourite food but manage to go for my favourite restaurant. Bali Hai @ Gurney. They had a few signature dish that I always would order. For those who are going to Penang for this festive season, MUST not miss this nice restaurant because they do serve fresh seafood, instead of most of the time, penangites will drive to Tambun for fresh seafood. This restaurant is another alternative.

This is the reastaurant outlook where you drive passby, will attract your attention because of its crowd and also their decoration as there are a few tables uniquely decorate and isolated from other table with the like of kampung, atap style infront of the restaurant.

This is whereby they store all the fresh seafood’s.

Fresh lobster good in shasimi and cheeze baked. Mouth watering…..

More options to choose from, if you do not know how to choose fresh, just Tembak lah!!! or ask the person to assist~

This restaurant is usually damm packed on the weekend. If you decided to go around weekend or public holidays, the best time to reach is before 7.30pm. Easy parking inside the restaurant and easy table to get. If you reach after 8pm, ermmm..you can expect to wait a bit.
This is what me and my parents had ordered, Kam Hiong Lala(longer version)’ Actually, this does not goes well with longer version and not a good combo of kam hiong with this. Usually I ordered in fried with chilies. Trying new taste. Definitely I ate most of it because of the nice taste. The lala also fresh.
This is their ‘Signature Taufu. Definitely must try. Inside the taufu are stuffed with small prawns or what we call ‘heh bi'(hokkien) and it is fried and abit salty. It is very soft in the inside and very nice aroma of the ‘heh bi’, goes very well if you are eating with rice.

Wah!!! This is definitely my favourite dish. ‘Wong Kam Har(prawn)’ Whatever with Wong Kam defiantly taste nice. The lady ask us to try with the prawn after peel the skin. So decided to go along with it. But definitely does not really taste as nice with prawn with their shell. So therefore do not request to ask them to remove the prawn shell. Taste better with it. You can ask them to do ‘Wong Kam Crab’ and Wong Kam something something. It is also nice.

The taste of it, is just similar what I eat back in Melbourne, Chinatown which is the restaurant is called Desert House. Lol. For those who are in Melbourne you should know.

The taste of the Wong Kam is rich with century egg, butter smell, and when you lick it, the taste of butter and the century egg will just stick on your tongue and slowly melt. With saltiness yet the ‘harumness‘ of the taste kam hiong leaves, you must just not miss this.

This is another one of my favourite dish. ‘Curry Fish Head’. One of their signature also but to much disappointment, this usually I ordered it was very fresh and the curry is nice. Tonight, everything does not goes well, the curry taste weird like put in the fridge overnight and reheat it, the fish head is not fresh whereby the meat is hard. It is suppose to be soft and easy to slice it. Definitely I do complain ‘kau kau‘ to the captain.

This restaurant worth to go, cuz they do have first class service, 3 table to 1 waiter/waitress. When ever your plate is dirty, they will directly change for you to a new plate. Five star service you can expect and the waiter and waitress there are definitely friendly. Suits my dad cuz he loves to talk alot to people.

If you had not a fresh seafood on that night, please do complain, as we do get RM40 off on our bill, whereby we just paid around RM96 after complain of the curry fish head. Cuz customer is their priority.

Location:

This restaurant is Located along Gurney whereby it is in the middle of that stretch.

If you coming from Gurney Hotel(left) go straight and after you see Pelita Mamak, slow down. It is nearby there

If you are coming from Gurney Plaza(right) you will have to past Silverton Condo, and bout 300Meter, it is just nearby there.
