Its been a while since I last had my Thai meal and this round decided to head Imperial Chakri Palace. According to my friend, he mention that how did the word Imperial Chakri Palace came about was they hire a lady chef from Thailand and she used to work in the Thai Palace Kitchen as a cook and then was brought in my this company to make a royal type cuisine here. That is how the name Chackri Palace Royal Thai Cuisine came about.

Chackri (1)

Not only that, the restaurant had gain its reputation over the years had they had been going strong for more than 10 years with improvise taste and food that had attracted many locals and foreigners back to this restaurant. Consistency is they main key for them to win back many loyal customer, afterall this restaurant serve HALAL Thai Food.

Chackri (2)

The whole ambiance been decorated with royal colours as yellow is the usual, that provide comfortable dining . .

Chackri (3)

Chackri (4)

Mieang Kam is one type of traditional food to start off with as appetizer. Serve along with 7 types of ingredient and what you need to do is take a piece of leave follow by spreading the shrimp paste which is a must as its thick and aromatic, then sprinkle with all the ingredient that you like. @ RM19.90

Chackri (5)

For me, I have added everything the have then roll it and stuff the whole thing in your mouth under one bite. Taste? Just perfect.

Chackri (10)

Yam Ma Moung, I would call it Kerabu Mango Salad. Finely slice marinated mango with some added chili, peanuts. Usually being order along for us to open up our appetite with the sourish taste and hint of spiciness at the end. @ RM18.00

Chackri (6)

Chakri Four Seasons @ RM39.90 – Thai fish cake, spring roll, sweet and spicy chicken, mixed fruit salad and crispy prawn

Chackri (7)

Super star in there, is the fish cake as its stuff with spices and the homemade fish patty is just soft nicely fried.

Chackri (8)

Tom Yam Talay is known as one of their signature dish in the restaurant, as the clear version is actually Bangkok style. As always the clear version is lighter in taste and just nice for those who cant really handle spicy soup as its more towards sourish. RM10.50

Chackri (9)

Gai How Bai Tuey known to us as pandan leaves fried chicken @ RM21

Chackri (11)

One of my favorite dish for the night is Gung Phad Choo Chee fried to perfection with peanut sauce, mild spicy along and gravy is a bit thick to my liking as the shrimp is fresh and one of a unique dish of thai I came across and I ate most of this by myself. 🙂 – Recommended if you love peanut gravy. @ RM20.90

Chackri (15)

Pla Nueng Ma Now – steam fish with sauce of clear lime, chilli and garlic @ RM68.00

Chackri (16)

Another favourite of mine for the night is Phad Thai Gung Sod – Fried Thai noodle with prawns, crushed peanut and chilli powder as I know not many places can cook this well, as I have learn to eat in Thai that taste of it head towards more on a bit sweet and sour then add myself with chili flakes to tone the spiciness up. The noodle is flat, well fried and chewy as my liking. @ RM18.90

How many of you actually dine before Mexican food as not to mention those commercialize  ones, as there is one that serve near authentic Mexician food which is Frontera Sol of Mexico that smack right in the heart of Jaya One. One of the few outlets that hard to miss if you are around the area.

What is in the house today is their Christmas menu, as you might think its early but nope, its just about a month away where is just nice you start to offer Christmas menu.

Frontera (1)

Frontera (2)

Frontera (3)

its a place that normal pack with families and friend to come by to get their favorite dish.

For their Christmas menu, they are preparing the food to be as authentic as possible, that will differ in individual taste.

Frontera (4)

One of the thing that I sip non stop is this Watermelon Agua Fresca – Non Alchohol drink, that had a bit of soda, sweet watermelon and mild lime taste as the end is just thirst quenching.

Frontera (8)

Next, head to the  most classic drink of all is this 1919 Sangria an Alcoholic drink origins from Spain and, different restaurant, pub and bar prepare this drink differently, what you taste here might not be the same as other outlet as they have their own recepi on creating it.

Frontera (5)

Traditional Tamales (Choice of chicken / Beef)

Frontera (6)

Find that this is the Bak Chang in Mexician version. Like sticky rice, that have lots of ingredient inside and the taste is quite different but rich in ingredient.

Frontera (7)

Roasted Butternut Squah Soup With Sage Pesto, as after I finish the whole plate, as I thought it was pumpkin soup and I am a bit suprise that its not. It is butternut, anyway, I still enjoy the soup.

Frontera (9)

Mesquite Smoked Turkey with Broccoli Florets Topped with Chili Con Queso

Frontera (10)

This is one of the main star for the night that, when ask, do you prefer fish or Turkey. Instantly 90% of them order turkey, as during Christmas period, we have been taught from small is that Christmas = Turkey (must have dish). Turkey meat was well marinated, soft and prefect pair with gravy and the best of all to pair along that you must not miss is the pinkish Cranberry Chipotle Relish (a bit sour sweet and very unique in taste, I sure do not mind to have more of that), pair along with sweet potato, yes its sweet potato not meatloaf.

Frontera (11)

Since every one opted for the Turkey, so I try out their Veracruz-style Fillet of Red Snapper with mexican rice & sonora vegetables. Usually, I do not take fish and its quite beyond my expectation that the fish is good, soft fish meat and the gravy is abit sour and you eat along with jalapeno which is not too spicy, that balance up. After effect will make your tongue a bit numb. 😀

Frontera (12)

Peach Tres Leches Cake

Frontera (13)

Key Lime Pie

Do not know where to head for our Christmas, then can try out some Mexician Food.

Every year after Christmas and New Year most of us the rest will turn on our Chinese New Year mood already with all the shopping mall converting to CNY deco but this year, Chinese New Year mood came to me very early as heading to my very first stop, to try out CNY menu at Four Season Restaurant(Non-Halal).

4Season

4Season (2)

Nice Chinese contemporary designs to add on the ambiance of the restaurant.

4Season (3)

The food in the menu looks good and the price is quite reasonable.

4Season (5)

This is how Ken on site, showing his new ka chan…’Boi Tahan ah’~~~ lol~

4Season (6)

I like the ‘Chili Oil’ very much as in when added to the meal, it brings up the extra fragrance on it. Not very spicy yet a bit salty.4Season (7)

4Season (8)

‘Special Four Seasons Hong Kong Style Poon Choi’

4Season (9)

4Season (10)

When the pot cover opens up, we were so excited that pun choi is filled with prawns, scallops, peas, broccoli, sea cucumber and some other ingredients. Our chopstick is there, and have to say waiitttttt..take picture first, as everyone is staring at it waiting to eat it with the aroma flying through our nose. Surely this is 100 times better than the pun choi I ate at Yin Ker Lou and more worth it.

4Season (11)

‘Four Seasons Roasted Duck’ filled our mouth with juicy and tender duck meat yet the saltiness level is there and add on with some chili oil is just perfect as we hope we could have another plate.

4Season (13)

Followed by ‘Crispy Pork’

4Season (14)
and ‘Char Siew’

4Season (15)
‘Waxed Meat Rice in Hot Pot’ cooking at the bottom of the rice, with making the base a bit burn and crispy then stir it around to make it evenly that I love it filled with Chinese sausage.

4Season (16)

4Season (17)I have always drink soya bean and love sea coconut but I have never thought that this 2 when mix together it would be so nice. ‘Double Boiled Sea Coconut with Soya Bean’

It was a great nice trying out nice dishes and a great start for CNY mood and this is not the only set we try, as for family reunion dinner or ‘Sau Gong Jau’ can always be in here too with the set menu as below.. Richard, I have to say thank you for arranging everything.
