I guess there were months ago where The Owls Cafe is one of a establishment that make an impact to OUG. There were constant hype about them and their waffle, where I did not bother to head to that cafe cause of their crazy queue with an average waiting time of 30 minutes to 60 minutes. It was till recently only found out that New Chapter by The Owls Cafe is one of their latest concept that resides in this new building, Calvary Convention Center in Bukit Jalil.

Love their interior where to me, it is very Melbourne inspired theme with its office, industrial warehouse look.

 

I came here twice as during weekend, this outlet is a warzone where I came another time for a breakfast meeting on weekdays, that makes us easier to navigate around. However they have strong lunch family crowd too. During weekend, do remember to register yourself at the counter to be in queue and as picture below is their waiting area.

If you are seated over nearer to the waiting area, you will be overlooking this golf course.

Maybe I will try their cake next round.

This outlet also sells number of cafe equipment and also they do serve specialty coffee.

I love their latte as the coffee taste is not that strong, mild enough with hint of slight acidic end that totally suits to my palate. It is pretty much towards Melbourne cafe taste. Will not suit those who have strong caffeine taste bud. Rif also told me to try out their Black Maggic which is actually a single origin blend of the day, where at RM 8 it is good enough to kick start your day. This single origin gives you this little tangy taste with a mild end of coffee taste.

First round, was here to try out their waffle and ordered Midori @ RM 21 – Matcha base waffle filled with Mandarin Oranges, sprinkle of pistachio, and top with their homemade Black Sesame & Coconut Ice Cream with Red Bean Cream. Portion is decent enough to justify on the pricing where there are alot of effort putting into it. Love both their ice cream where coconut ice cream is infuse with little mini ball of gula melaka that will give you the little pop of sweetness upon biting it. Not a fan of sesame lover yet they manage to tone down the strong taste of sesame that gives you a mild taste of it. Waffle is done to perfection where it is crips outside and soft inside. A great waffle.

Tried their Oaky Gardner @ RM 18. Its a french toast with pistachio paste instead of the usual which is peanut butter and coated with nestum oat, pistachio nuts and cranberries.

For this outlet, found out that they will soon serve dinner and will drop by again for another round. Good thing about this place is safety where you need to go thru a guard house follow by plenty of carpark.
