Early morning what do you usually have for your breakfast? Western? Local cuisine? It had been a while since I last visited this place, which is old school and classic. Its not more than this famous Indian cuisine that had been operating here for more than 10 years. Roti Canai Transfer road is also known as one of a landmark to me and my friends.

I could not even can remember when was the last time I came here, it was many many years back.

transfer road (1)

I have always wanted to drop by but most of the time I could not wake up. At last was force to wake up by Ken and manage to come by this place.

transfer road (2)

On the tray itself, roti canai is being fried non stop as many people are waiting and taking away too.

All the gravy are serve pippin hot and it was just perfect that the morning itself it was morning and just the right things to pair after.

transfer road (8)

Dining experience here is very different compare to other places as you have to squeeze in this pretty tight spot to have your seat. With much more seating, canteen style pretty much reminds me of primary school days.

Every one just sit in single line and face the road yet we enjoy the view of the busy chef preparing all the pipping hot roti canai.

transfer road (9)

What we usually order a piece of beef in this special gravy with their very own recepi, do not deceive by the fiery red curry as its not too spicy yet aromatic with spices.

Love mine with lots of extra gravy and another item that you shall not miss is their season onions to pinkish colour. A bit sweet in taste which is their signature item here.

This is how we enjoy our early breakfast in different style.

If you do visit penang for holiday, sure this is one of my favourite place to recommend for your early breakfast. Just simply delicious

Publika had bubble up with many F&B restaurants as it had become one of my latest hit place to hunt for food. After reading numerous blog on Fatboy’s Burger that I walk pass many times yet could not find many friends to go with until last few weekends. Some good review pull our expectation up on that day and gearing up ourself to hunt for this sinful big burger. The brand that originate from Singapore and now it had kick off their first outlet in Malaysia.

fatboys (1)

A outlet which is easily located right above the Non-Halal Food court (Eat Food Village) facing their mini staging area. We were there early that day as 11.45am still yet to open and I thought it was close for the weekend as I see many customers try peeking in, to check on their outlet including myself.

fatboys (2)

Well, they open 12pm sharp that day and instantly many people just dash in to get a seat for themselves and family members.

fatboys (3)

Settings of the ambiance is pretty cute as the wall are filled with cartoonic drawings and I find that the seating is a bit like modern canteen.

fatboys (4)

As Excited to see on the menu, I am totally impress with the wide selection of burgers and all description  look goods too me. Felt like ordering half of the menu. 😀

fatboys (5)

I also got to known that one of their signature is from The Milkshake Bar for drinks filled with thick Malt.

fatboys (6)

If you could not find any of the burger suits your liking in the menu, then you can customise your very own burger. This would be an interesting one on your creation.

fatboys (7)

First start of mine with Vanilla Malt Milkshake. It was heaven when I first sip it that its super thick that you had hard time sucking it up as its serve along with frozen glass. Love the texture which is creamy from vanilla ice cream and milk taste did not over power it. Just love this glass of milkshake as I love mine dense yet not too sweet. RM 12Recommended

fatboys (8)

Onion Rings is next as we saw the serving on next tables look so tempting and huge, as upon our order came, it came in different size that ours look much smaller and more oily. A bit dissapointed with this @ RM 12

fatboys (10)

Jamaican Me Hungry. RM19.00 – bacon stuffed pork patty topped with sundried tomatoes, chewy bacon, homemade coleslaw and smothered with mayonnaise on sesame seed bun.

fatboys (11)

Well, this certainly did impress with the pork pattie grill to perfection as it is not overcook, yet can taste the pork texture that is a bit chewy and filled with bacon and I added on mustard sauce to perfect it.

fatboys (12)

AS do not know what to order and came this sign recommended which is their signature is Fat-Basterd @ RM 28 –  sesame bun, extra thick double beef patties, extra thick bacon, cheddar cheese, fried egg complete with Fatboy’s homemade BBQ sauce

fatboys (13)

Its a huge burger and I think it just fit me perfectly. :p homemade BBQ burger was perfect with egg and cheeze, sadly the patty was overcook and it is dry and well done. If it was in medium well, then perfect.

fatboys (15)

Mahalo @ RM18.50 is another pork burger that we order. More like Hawaiian style

fatboys (16)

Wimpy @ RM 19

Since in the menu mention that the burger are serve medium well, on the day itself they all serve all Well done which is very dissappointed on the serving on the beef patties. Nevertheless, I can say that they do not have the consistancy as my friend went a night before, she said that the patty was done medium well and it was perfect. AS for the pork is quite alright.

Well, shall go another round to try out and for 4 of us to dine a total bill of RM150 I find it reasonable. I hope that my next visit I will request my patty to be medium as to be on the safe side. Would encourage to request rather than leave what they mention in the menu.

Last week, Jonathan came back and tell us, that he went to a shop in Balakong that serve good steam fish and wanted to bring us there, so it was weekdays on lunch time, suddenly do not have the mood to eat on the canteen, all of us just agree to eat out. It was 15 minutes drive from Bukit Jalil to Batu 11, Cheras. Lan Jie Stim Fish When we reach there, it was hard to find parking space as it was lunch time and a mini shop lot area.

Picture on this post will be abit off as I forgot to bring my camera on that day and use Canon G7 to take on it.

Lan Jie

Lan Jie (2)

We were there early and still alot of tables to choose from.

Lan Jie (3)

This is my favorite vegetable, which is stir fried with fermented bean curd, is just nice. Not too salty yet it’s very aromatic with the flavor and goes along very well with rice, ended up ordering another plate.

Lan Jie (4)

‘Stir Fried Four Angle Beans with dry Shrimp’

Lan Jie (5)

‘Fried Wantan’ is very normal

Lan Jie (6)

As you see most of the table in the coffeeshop, each table will have the signature dish ‘Steam Tilapia Fish’ topple with shredded ginger, finely chop cili padi, dice garlic, soy sauce and chili bean paste. Perfectly steam and its very fresh, till eat along with ginger and dip in the soy sauce its very nice, those who prefer their fish to be spicy, can request it to be more spicy, as I love their version of more spicy compare to the normal one. The fish vary in sizes but is price from RM14-RM18.

One of the day, where we were pretty bored with our canteen food, so we decided to go out hunting for lunch again, that had landed me one of the newly open IOI mall new wing. It has been ages since I last step into this mall, but as it was not far from my company and one of my colleagues mention that the set lunch in Breeks Cafe is quite worth it and landed us here for the food. They do have one branch in Penang at Gurney Plaza but their menu had never temp me try it out.

Breeks

Breeks (2)

Their set lunch comes with types of drinks to choose from and we order the whole range of it. ‘Ices Strawberry Lemon, Iced Passion Fruit Tea, Iced Lemon Tea’

Breeks (3)

with ‘Soup of the Day’ tasted so so. .

Breeks (4)

‘Mozzie Balls’ were pretty good, with mozarella cheeze in it. RM6.90

Breeks (5)

Next was the serving of ‘Chicken Patties Melted’ with cheeze covers on top and dip with the sauce given, taste not bad but it feels more like ramlee burger syle. RM19.90

Breeks (7)

‘Grilled Chicken Chop’ at least it taste a bit better that its fried with some marinated herbs taste. RM19.90

Breeks (8)

‘Grilled Chicken Chop’ RM19.90

Breeks (9)

‘Lasagna’ was not up to my expectation as I find the layer in between the filling is thick and flour taste is there.

If you ask me where to hunt for food, one of the places or area I would recommend is Bandar Puteri, Puchong. There are a lot of restaurant here, but most of them come and go as the competitive level here is very high in for foodie like me, its good as there are a lot of choices but for business is bad as have to keep coming up with new promotions. Restaurant Brother Kuan.

One colleague of mine that she stay around the area that recommend we should come to this shop which is pretty good, without any hesitation, we directly head there as most of us don feel like eating at canteen for that day.

Brother Kuan

Brother Kuan (2)

The place is simple, nice and cozy.

Brother Kuan (3)

Dishes in the menu is not many variety but mostly are recommended.

Brother Kuan (4)

With Ping Ping had dine here before, we leave the choise for her to choose.

Brother Kuan (5)

This is the starter of the day, that Karen and Kebbie bought from a auntie from the front. I love the young mango, its not very sour yet very sweet. Good to eat before meal.

Brother Kuan (6)

Although this look simple, but if you do come to this shop and dine, this would be a recommended dish by me, the ‘BBQ Pork’ had been roast till the outer layer is crispy, layer fats and meat are choose evenly and its just perfect.

Brother Kuan (7)

‘Hailam Chicken’ that something is simple and nice with soft tender meat and smooth chicken skin add on with some ginger is just as good as it is.

Brother Kuan (8)

Ahhh, this is my favorite of the day, ‘BBQ-Pork Omelette’ as not many people can fried an egg very aromatic that egg taste blends well with the bbq pork, onion and some vegies. I wish I had 2 of this. RM 6 Recommended~

Brother Kuan (9)

If you are looking for something clear soup to go along, this would not be a bad choice to go after. ‘Bayam with Superior Soup’ RM 8

Brother Kuan (10)

One of the unique taste of the day ‘Roast Duck with Herbal Sauce’ as I always eat roast duck but never with herbal sauce. The flaver blends in pretty good but do not expect the meat to be as aromatic that just roasted out but its another taste to enjoy. RM15

Brother Kuan (11)

‘Miss Fried Fish Paste’ @ RM 8, deep fried perfectly, that a home made fish paste feel is there.

Brother Kuan (12)

This happens to be another in demand dish as ‘La Chi Prawns’ was put down on the table, I was not fast enough as Kenji already stole one of the prawn as it looks too tempting. It is quite spicy (those who cannot eat spicy, please request to reduce it) and solid prawn meat that been fried along with the sauce and spiciness level is there just makes the prawn very good. RM25

Brother Kuan (13)

During the whole meal, the chef and another lady been observing me for very long time and curious of me why keep taking picture and not long after that the chef which is also the owner Chef Marcus walked over and ask us how is the food, do we enjoy and everything, after found out that I am a foodie, he is even more friendly, telling me that this shop is the first restaurant that offer cart steam rice which is more on health purpose as to go along with his dish, Chinese herbal. He indeed was very friendly as I did observe him, he walk and talk with customer before came over to my table.

Total bill came out with RM118 shared with 7 pax is very reasonable and with the quality served, its recommended~

I have always heard that Kajang stay is good and how good but thinking of travelling there is always stops me from going to that area till few weeks back, when we went for a food testing to get a tender for new Canteen operator and since we were half way there, we decided to go there for lunch then. SATAY!!!!! In this kind of situation, I surely support 200%. 🙂

When we reach there, I were told by my friends that the like this stall compare to another restaurant. Their taste and my taste is about the same so I will trust their selection.

After we place our order, an old uncle was standing start to grilled the satay. The stick looks so tempting as its well marinated, judging from the looks of it.
If you were eating satay, one of the thing that you must not miss or the extra kick to the satay which is the nut gravy. The add on a bit of the sambal in the gravy gives the extra kick in it and I just cannot stop eating by dipping with cucumber and onion. Then I request the guy to take another 3 small bowl for me.

Here comes my juicy satay as we order:

Chicken RM0.60, Beef RM0.70, Mutton RM0.90, Duck RM0.90

Chicken is soft and well marinated. The beef did not grill till very hard still taste good. Mutton is my big time favourite with its stink lamb taste with its marinated sauce with its seasoning. Recommended. Duck meat taste like lamb cross over with chicken but still thumbs up.

‘Hailam Noodle’ A bit salty but still edible.

‘Wat Tan Hor’ taste normal, nothing to boast about.
I cant remember this name but copare to those 2, I would prefer this one. A bit salty too but at least well fried.
For me, I can just hantam the satay for 20-30 sticks only withouth eating the nooodle. Sure gives me the satisfaction. I will sure be returning to enjoy the satayz and Jonathan told me that the ‘Fish Satay’ is the best choice among those all(surely I will be ordering next round). Even though travelling quite a distance, but paid off.
