*OMG! I totally forgot to click post on this blog post. . :d Here you go . . Heineken

One of the party I am looking forward before end of 2012 is this Heineken Thirst 2012 that is being held at Sepang. It was a hectic day for me that I have to work in the early morning, attending wedding dinner at night then quickly cabut from the dinner head to this massive party and the saddest part is I have to work early the next morning. I reach pretty late about 11pm and the carpark is super full till I park at the highway and walk in. It looks near but I think I walk about 1km into the party zone.

thirst (1)

Along the way you can see many people selling drinks, beers and party pack  . .

thirst (2)

Hardworking people at work yet they are friendly . .

thirst (3)

Once and forall, one way ticket to party till you drop. . .

thirst (5)

when I reach the main scene, I am totally speechless, as I never know the 3 neon tree is going to be there, as what I read in the press release. I rate it as their trademark for Thirst party.

thirst (6)

Its divided into 2 zone, this is the second zone Star Arena and who is spinning here :

Justice

Gesaffelstein

Brodinski

LapSap

Jee Hoe & Hypeembeats

Nick Haydez

thirst (7)

Justice was the finale DJ that spin at the peak hour ..  Love his music. . .

thirst (8)

Then walk over to Main Stage, I got blast away with the huge crowd. I never knew this rave was so well accepted and its so pack.

thirst (9)

Then head to our VIP terrace for our entry.

thirst (10)

Above and Beyond was spinning at that time and I love the stage. Below are the video that I have capture and enjoy~

thirst (11)

At VIP area see who is there, most of the bloggers Simon, Jackie, Anna, Benjamin, Yatz, Joshua and many more.  .

thirst (12)

Great party like that how can we not to have Heineken on our hand. We ended up buy quite alot of beer that night.

thirst (13)

Here is the tower  .. . to keep the night going at first pit stop. . .

thirst (14)

thirst (15)

For VIP tickets we are entitle for 4 cans of Heineken.

thirst (16)

AT the bar area or purchase counter

thirst (17)

thirst (19)

Head back to the floor to see the rest of the siau kia’s Fred and Anna’s Gang. . .

thirst (20)

My sister decided to join the crowd too last minute. . 😀

thirst (22)

thirst (23)

As more and more drinks are flowing down, more and more pattern are showing up, with party like a rock star. . . Flying without wings. .

thirst (24)

And the interval begins, with countdown of the DJ that many of my friends are looking forward for Avicii.

thirst (25)

Then as I was walking every where, then bump into my PG friends.. cool~

thirst (26)

let the finale section begin with the most inticipated DJ coming out, AVICII. . . . check out the video below how he pump the beat to blast every one away. . .

thirst (27)

Its just amazing!

thirst (28)

This is what I mean flying without wingz and see, please don drink that much and end up being capture in here. . .wakkaka . .

thirst (29)

thirst (30)

Guess who is in da house, Ashleigh and Pin Pin . . keke

thirst (32)

One good thing in this event as they never let you go hunger, as they have smoking zone, first aid area and Food tent for you to refuel your stomach then go party hard.

thirst (33)

The party ended up with a 5 mins fireworks.

thirst (31)

I must say, this is one of the best RAVE I have ever attended in Malaysia, and I am happy that its now up to that standard. Heineken Thirst in year 2012 is really a party that will be kept in my list as the best~ Those that miss out? don be sad as I believe Thirst 2013 will be even much better as they have raise the bar to such high standard now.

Read the following day on the Press release, they have a huge strong crowd of 25,000. Thumbs up!

I have know this mall Maju Junction, and never step foot into this mall before. Last round nearly ended here for a review on Pizza and last minute I have to work then I have to skip. This round, we are here to hunt for dim sum. I was a bit skeptical when Chris told me Restaurant Oriental Maju Palace  a pork free restaurant. Mostly for dim sum, in my mind pork is needed as I have tried a few pork free or Halal dim sum, the taste is just not there.

Maju Palace(1)

Here we are on Sunday morning parking at the basement was a wrong decision, as we had trouble finding the restaurant. Really surprise to see the restaurant actually hidden whereby Restaurant Oriental Maju Palace actually operate on the top floor of a car park space inside Maju Junction Mall, you can just drive up the multi story carpark and park right at the front.

Maju Palace(3)

Yet after walking into the restaurant, I did not know its actually quite a huge restaurant as they do offer wedding banquet here too. Not only that as time pass by, more and more customers flocking in.

Maju Palace(5)

Then I walk around the restaurant and found this nicely decorated section that got me curious and walk further in.

Maju Palace(6)

Its actually a section filled with a few rooms cater for private function. This room i huge that can easily host a small enterprise function or family gathering.

Maju Palace(7)

If you find that sitting outside that is lack of privacy then you can opt to reserve a table in this private room

Maju Palace(8)

As I walk to this counter and I am impress. All the selection you get to see on the display counter are real cook food. Food at this corner are made to order and cook fresh for you. Just pick your selection.

Maju Palace(9)

You will be pamper from the selection itself.

Maju Palace(10)

Can see that the ingredients that they use are premium and fresh.

Maju Palace(11)

Maju Palace(12)

Maju Palace(13)

Maju Palace(14)

Maju Palace(15)

Not only that, as what you seen at the counter the food have not included into the menu yet.

Maju Palace(16)

Then it is seriously a huge menu.

Maju Palace(17)

These are the 3 sauces not to be miss especially the chili oil. The chef purposely made these 3 sauce to pair with their dim sum and fried noodle as knowing our local culture we need some sauces to go after.

Maju Palace(18)

The usual, we will kick start off with lighter food then follow by heavy weight.

Maju Palace(19)

Chicken pie not to be miss. . .

Maju Palace(20)

Pan fried radish cake

Maju Palace(23)

Maju Palace(24)

Har Kau here sure looks huge as when it was serve some of us were like woahh, what a huge prawn in it and its a fresh prawn not frozen prawn.

Maju Palace(25)

Pork free bun – char Siew Bun that surprise me how good it taste like without pork and taste the same as those with pork. Bun are just so soft.

Maju Palace(26)

Huge Big Pau that can easily feed for 2 pax.

Maju Palace(27)

Comes to steam selection . .

Maju Palace(28)

Poached River Carp Medallions

Maju Palace(29)

This is what happen when every one is busy taking pictures when our table is filled with lots of food that spread over to next table. We have 10 pax but eat like 20 pax.

Maju Palace(30)

Deep-fried Codfish Rolls

Maju Palace(31)

Maju Palace(32)

Maju Palace(33)

Maju Palace(34)

Maju Palace(35)

What attracted me to order this is Double Boiled Superior Soup with Beef and Enoki Mushrooms. Rarely come accross that enoki mushroom is double boil. Not to be miss.

Maju Palace(36)

Braised Noodles Village-style

Maju Palace(37)

Fried Radish cake

Maju Palace(38)

One of a unique item is water chesnut cakes

Maju Palace(40)

Their porridge range is superb cook till its soft and silky smooth that is very similiar to Hong Kong Dim sum that I had when I was travelling.

Maju Palace(41)

Crab porridge taste simple, sweet and good. I add in a lil soy sauce and its perfect.

Maju Palace(42)

Other types of noodles also available

Maju Palace(39)

Comes to the last section which is desert. I will never miss desert during dim sum with its huge selection. Aloe Vera Tarts

Maju Palace(43)

Lemon Grass Jelly

Maju Palace(44)

My fav that I will definately order is Lui Sar Pau – steamed custard buns has the hot golden lava-like salted egg custard oozing out by gentle pealing the bun. Please do not eat it by one bite as the filling in it is extremely hot that will burn your tongue easily.

Maju Palace(47)

Ginger soup, sesame glutinous rice ball.

Maju Palace(48)

This is another unique item not to be miss. . .Steamed egg with Bird Nest. Light in taste, slightly sweet at the end and a perfect way to end my tim sum. After all the heavy dim summ, I am seriously stuff with food and even skip dinner on that day.

I never thought that the dim sum here is amazing that is really hidden in the carpark. As it was full house and their normal weekend crowd is pretty good. Filled with families.

There is no doubt now that I can even recommend my malay friends where to have nice dim sum already as they often ask me where got hunt for nice one. If you are asking me, definitely this restaurant is one of a recommended restaurant for dim sum!

The Oriental Group’s website

Since its nearby my office, SS2 area is one of the frequent area that I often drop by for lunch especially Chow Yang area as I do not want to be stuck or hassle in finding carpark. Chow Yang area is easy easy to locate a parking space and walk to my favourite dining area just a few doors away not like the main area of SS2 you have to park far and walk to another side of your dining place. Restaurant Ho Ho Sek.

[updated 27/10/2015] – the Kopitiam had closed down – swap operator.

Chow Yang (1)

Well, this place caught my attention alot of times whenever I dine here, as this newly rebuild kopitiam to Restaurant Ho Ho Sek, I rate this place is a highclass kopitiam. It provides indoor dining with air condition and of course when it comes with air condition means you have to pay a bit more expensive drinks in this shop. One is because of the interior or the shop and seconds its along with air condition.

Chow Yang (3)

The hawker area are clean and all are park in order . .

Chow Yang (2)

Then my friend introduce me to this stall which is operate by her family members. Got a full time job then forgo to start a business in hawker which is kinda interesting. Their food is pretty unique in the market  . ..

Chow Yang (8)

Pork Ribs noodle’s is their signature and they only sell that in the stall.

There are 2 version of the noodle, either spicy or non spicy. For the non spicy, you can taste the aromatic soy mix with their special ingredient sauce that make it a bit sweeet in taste and my colleague love the one non spicy.

Chow Yang (9)

As I love my food spicy, I would definately recommend their Spicy Pork Ribs Noodle that for first few bites, you might not find the spiciness of it. As you eat more, you will find it will numb your tongue as it goes when the spiciness kicks in. Pork ribs were well braise till its quite soft and the taste of the gravy just soak it in. One of the set back that you cannot expect so much is their noodle, that it hardly will soak any flavour in as the texture is similiar to pan mee but their homemade version is more smooth.

This would be the third time I have dine here along with this stall and if you do come here, this is one of the recommended food. RM 6.50

Chow Yang (5)

When we walk around the place, my colleague saw this Siew Yuk is quite tempting, so we order a small plate to test it out. Turns out to be dry and it is not so crisp on the edge as I love it with a crack sound while biting. The only best is the chili sauce.

Chow Yang (4)

Next order Fried Koey Teow to share as observe in the coffee shop got alot people order it. When it was serve smells good and the texture and colour looks nice. The set back is it was not fried properly that I even ate a bite filled with chili. If the uncle fried a bit longer with ‘wok hei’ then it would be a perfect one. RM 6 comes with 2 big prawns.

Chow Yang (6)

Popiah taste not bad as it is a bit moist at the bottom and the prawn shrimp paste spread along bring up the taste.

Chow Yang (7)

This chee cheong fun version is something similiar I had in Ipoh and it is much better compare to this one.

Overall, not being biased I still love my bowl of Pork Ribs Noodle – Recommended as I know pork is pretty expensive and they do not give alot, it is understandable in those terms. The food that I try are pretty average  . .  Maybe will suits your taste bud as you can try it out. .

I guess to many of us that when we dine in Lammeeya, it is pretty straight forward that they are famous for their signature Lammeeya, Lam Mee. One of their outlet in Uptown Damansara offers more than that. That they do offer home cook delicious dish on their extended menu which mostly had started off with this menu.

Lameeya (1)

I have heard many good things about this branch that their taste is always consistent and in tip top that hardly disappoint you. This is not my first time here, as I have came here a few times that I did not blog about it till  now. 😀

Lameeya (2)

If you come here during lunch time, you will have a massive hard time finding carpark as Uptown already famous for their congested area, and one of the best time to come and dine of course after work hours, which is much easy to find car park compare to day time. Not only that, to find  a seat in the restaurant would be much easier too.

Lameeya (3)

In this outlet, interior of the outlet which is a bit more contemporary compare to other outlets you have seen and you shall see more of the new concept from Lammeeya on other outlets as they plan to upgrade.

Lameeya (4)

In this outlet they also offer cakes which is made by them too . .

Lameeya (5)

I am usually a big fan of their healthy drink with many type to offer and some of the combination they made out create a curiosity for me to give it a try too.

Lameeya (6)

Lameeya (7)

1) Kasturi, Cucumber & Lime @ RM 8.80

2) Lychee, Celery & Pinapple @ RM 8.80 – Recommended

3) Watermelon & Lychee @ RM 8.80

4) Carrot & Orange @ RM 8.80

Lameeya (8)

1) One of the unique drink that caught my attention is – Lotus & Chestnut as we never thought that lotus root can make into a drink and it pair very well with chestnut and its refreshing. @ RM 8.80 Recommended

2)

Lameeya (10)

Lam Mee @ RM 13.80

Lameeya (11)

Their Lam Mee including prawns and own home made pork ball, and soup base gravy is thick as I usually eat and to make it more best, I usually add on two mini bowl of sambal they provide as I love mine to be spicy.

Lameeya (12)

If you have work outside quite often and miss some home cook soup, they do offer some double boil soup to please you and the taste of the soup is just there, brings out the right amount of taste that pair very well with inside ingredient that they have added in.

1) Watercrest Soup

2) Old cucumber soup

3)

Lameeya (13)

If you want some simple dish to make you satisfy or craving for some sort of Penang, Char Koey Teow, they do cook it very near to our style and its a recommended dish by me as the koey teow is cook to perfection with wok hei and its not spicy. For me I just love mine to be extra spicy, one thing that make it good is because they cook along with Duck Egg.

Lameeya (14)

Another super star dish of the night which is Stew Pork with Potato.I know, I know, its simple dish that we used to eat it from home cook or economy rice? How many actually can cook it till very nice and this is exceptional that when it was serve with the aroma flying around our nose, it was instantly rape and gone within seconds. – Recommended! @ RM 19.80

Lameeya (15)

A simple ladies finger that been soft boil in hotwater for a while add on with soy sauce and some finely mince chili with garlic to make it chewy and nice to bite, along with it, its a simple nice dish to start off with.

Lameeya (16)

Pork Leg Vinegar  @ RM 23.80

Lameeya (17)

Chu kiok chow.. one of the favourite terms that my friend always like to use as it is one of his favourite dish, as whenever he come across the availability he would never miss to order it as he always compare back with his grandmother style. For this round, he hardly commented because it was perfectly cook, with the meat is soft, and some juicy fats is thick yet it had been boil for long enough to make it soft that nearly melts on your tongue. The salty sauce is just right not too salty yet with enough of rice wine to make it aromatic. To go along with rice is the perfect combination for this.

Lameeya (18)

Wine chicken that cook along with herbs and lots of ginger. Some of you might like it or hate it with one of the reason the wine is pretty powerfull. Well, to me i am good with it as for a dish like this, I always prefer it to be in stronger taste.

Lameeya (19)

Hee, why why we do not go for white rice as they have the option of Pork Lard Oil rice that cook in mini claypot. Surely, it brings the omph in with so many dish that we can pair along.

Lameeya (20)

You and I might have the same thought on looking down this dish which is Ginger & Wine Omelet @ RM 19.80. This simple dish proves us wrong when we had a bite of it. With strong fried egg taste and did not over cook as the wine taste just blend in very well.

Lameeya (21)

One of my childhood favourite dish, simple yet delicious. Steam Pork with Dong Choy @ RM 19.80 – REcommended

Lameeya (22)

Lameeya (24)

 3 Types of steam egg

Lameeya (26)

Another simple good food that welly cook.

Lameeya (23)

Now we are having something like more towards to Ipoh fehmous Chee Chong Fun is show how similiar and available too .Pickle Chili & Sweet Sauce Chee Cheong Fun @ RM 10.80

Lameeya (25)

Mushroom with Mince Meat Chee Cheong Fun @ RM 11.80, hehe,  I prefer the normal dry version to my likings. Some of them they prefer this, well again depends on you. 😉

Lameeya (27)

I tell you, this girl can really eat and what we could not finish, she just sapu all. Just do not look down on hungry slim girl.

Lameeya (9)

Cappucino

Lameeya (28)

We were super full when the dish all was served and desert coming up, also must have space for that.

1) Tiramisu

2)

3) Oreo Cheeze Cake

4) Chocolate mud cake which is pretty good that is not too sweet, warm with chocolate oozing out. – REcommended

Lameeya (29)

For desert, the super star that blew our mind away is this Banana Crepe with the warm banana dressing which is cook and  made on the spot, that pairs very well with the aromatic crepe. Ice cream to compliment along with the hot and cold sensation enough to make your teeth numb. – Highly Recommended!!

Now its my turn to share with you all on this great food that this outlet have to offer, that for the next few days we dine there again for lunch as they have set lunch available. Again never disappoint us with most of their food are pretty good. This branch top in my chart that is worth recommending. . 🙂

Just right before I went back to Penang for my friends wedding 2 weeks ago, few days before that I received an email from my ex-colleague that some one mention in a blog that a blogger mention Pulau Aman served nice fresh Prawn Mee aka Mee Udang in Malay, then as I am excited and decided to go explore this round, and to double confirm I went Google up about this place, surprisingly quite a number of bloggers been before since as early as 2008. Then I told him I am going during Raya Break, then he said, u sot liau..Raya who opening for you including Ramadan? I was like super disappointed but yet lucky to go back early and just ngam ngam a day before bulan puasa start.

In adventurous mode, so went back to Penang can call my best friend and propose this and timing is so ngam that they also do plan to go to this island which is just perfect. Woke up early on Sunday morning look at Google Map that to travel there is very straight forward. Just head towards KL bound highway then exit at BATU KAWAN exit, –> find Batu Kawan Stadium then just head alllllll the way straight only till and turn left at a junction. It is just about 30-45 minutes from Penang island.

Pulau Aman (1)

Then you will reach this place with a huge carpark and we are amaze with one thing.

Pulau Aman (2)

Hidden deep inside here and a beautiful future mini port that just build up which I believe going to host some cafes or restaurant that over look the sea and Penang Bridge, shows that there are quite alot of crowds coming here.

Pulau Aman (3)

You can just park your car anywhere as you can find a spot and you will be charge RM5 which certainly alot more expensive compare to the ones in Penang if you consider this kind of place. . I guess its tourist attraction then.

Pulau Aman (4)

Then you will see this mini jetty that will take us to the opposite island which is known as Pulau Aman.

Pulau Aman (5)

This is the list of schedule and rates to take us over the other island as according to the boatman or the ‘penjaga’ there are no specific pick up or departure time. Just come to this jetty and just wait for the boat as they charge RM6 for 2 ways which is quite reasonable.

Note: the boat start as early as 8am (depends on luck as official start around 9am then last boat depart from the island back to the jetty is 5.30pm). IF you cant get back there are damm less accommodation and I would just wish you good luck in getting back.

Pulau Aman (6)

my 2 best friend which is the 2 siau poh’s . .Collen and Nancy and cam whore abit while waiting for our boat ride.

Pulau Aman (7)

Yayyy… finally our small mini wooden boat had is coming with the slow sound of engine ‘tutt ttuttt tutttt tutttttt’

Pulau Aman (8)

This is how small the boat is and maximum I think can transport around 25 pax.

Pulau Aman (9)

This is how small and low the boat is and I think I stretch my hand out I can touch the sea water already.

Pulau Aman (10)

This is what I mean small boat and quite a lot people purposely travel there for fishing.

Pulau Aman (11)

about 10 minutes slow boat ride we finally approaching Pulau Aman. Pulau Aman which is actually a small fishing village.

Pulau Aman (12)

Pulau Aman (13)

Pulau Aman (14)

Pulau Aman (15)

Pulau Aman (16)

We are surprise to see here got a map to tell us where we are and what do they have, and best of all, we do not know where the restaurant is located. The island seems small in this map and if to walk, will take quite a while. Then something struck our mind, just follow where everyone is going, you wont be wrong. Either ended up in 2 places, fishing area or the restaurant.

Pulau Aman (17)

this is what they have in the island for tourist attraction . . at this junction we took a turn on LEFT where everyone is walking.

Pulau Aman (18)

 they have road names tooo!

Pulau Aman (19)

See, I told you wont be wrong as its just a few steps a way from the Pulau Aman Jetty that you turn left at the T-junction then you will reach this RESTAURANT TERAPUNG PULAU AMAN.

Pulau Aman (20)

As I mention here is a fishing village and according to a few blogger you can grab mantis prawn and crab at a cheap rate. SO you choose what are the seafood you want then you bring the pale to the restaurant and let them know that you want them to help you cook.

Pulau Aman (21)

For being a virgin in this area, we do not know the rate of it and order Mantis Prawn and just 4 pcs cost us RM89 I was like .. kena chop already . . Then ask the other customer around there cuz I saw a big group of teenagers and ask how much is their price and a table sit next to us how much was theirs. Apparently there are 3 rates:

Small medium Size: RM50-RM60 per KG (recommended this size)

Medium Big Size : RM60-RM75 per KG

BIG SIZE : RM 85 above per KG

Please be remember to ASK the price and do not go on Sunday as very less boatman went out to sea to catch fish or anything,

Pulau Aman (22)

As many bloggers mention the signature dish here is Mee Udang, so that must not be miss and we order the rest of it. What is the different between Biasa (Normal) and special, as the difference is less prawns and more prawns. So I would advice just try on their BIASA can already.

Pulau Aman (23)

It was just 10.30am in the morning and its nearly full already.

Pulau Aman (24)

Here comes our order which is the signature dish of the restaurant known as Mee Udang / Prawn Mee malay version. I would say, the soup is not bad as you can taste from the sweetness from the fresh prawns and you just have to squeeze the lime to make it taste a bit sour. RM 6

Pulau Aman (28)

Pulau Aman (25)

Nasi Goreng Udang turns out to be quite good too, that many stores that I have tried in KL on the road side is not as good as this @ RM6

Pulau Aman (26)

Bihun Udang @ RM 6 that this plate certainly beats alot of malay stores out there which is quite fried quite fragrant.

Pulau Aman (27)

Mee Goreng Udang @ RM 6

Pulau Aman (29)

Koey Teow Soup Udang @ RM 6

Pulau Aman (30)

Our Giant mantis prawn and flower crab. The Auntie Charge ADDITONAL RM5 jus to steam on the seafood.

Pulau Aman (31)

Pulau Aman (32)

This is how giant our mantis prawn is and there is one even longer than Nancy’s face

Pulau Aman (33)

One of the reason not to order big mantis prawn is hard to peel the skin off as its shell is filled with a bit of torn and if you do not handle it properly while cutting you might hurt yourself. So the simple step for me that how I usually do it is

1) Cut the head off

2) cut all the legs

3) cut the side shell

4) just peel from the tail up to the front and just becarefull.

Pulau Aman (34)

After eating we had a short stroll to explore around what to see in this area and reliase that there is a Telaga Emas to see ( Gold Well) then walk for 10 minutes we find that its quite far and decided to turn around and also the area and the area is very Kampung and resides mostly malay here.

Pulau Aman (35)

Then I think there is a chalet here just 4 units. Then we head back to jetty and return. IF you ask me would I return, I would say yes, just for fun . . I will return again another round during Raya Week as the uncle said he will be opening.

What to order – Mee Udang and you can try out the Prawn Mantis small size.

Note: last boat is at 5.30pm

I am a frequent visitor for this stall also. It is in my list for cheap and nice dining. Only start their business at night. I know that Ampang Yong Tau Fu is famous but just do not know how to go and do not know which stall is nice. Definitely this is one of my favourite stall. It is cheap and nice. Not only this stall, there are other variety also as it is a mini hawker area.

The Ampang Yong Tau Fu Usually it is packed with people and the father and son running the operations.

One of the thing you must not miss in the selection was the Wantan. Very very good. Nicely fried, crispy on the outside and the filling on the inside is soft.
This is my selection for the night. Where my normal selection, taufu and wantan is a must, then , ladies finger, egg plant la and don know the other 2 called what. RM6.30 only.
Rating for this stall : 9/10
Then it was raining that day and lazy to walk to other stall, and the ppl dine there also ordered the ‘Fish Ball Soup Noodle’ so my kayponess also followed the crowd. Most of the people ordered soup I buat pandai order dry. So the result of the dry one, Sucks, very salty like drinking kicap. So maybe next round will try the soup. Instead of the dry but the price is very reasonable which is RM4.50 for a big bowl. I got shock also when I paid.
Rating for this stall : 2/10 for the dry noodle.
Should try this hawker area.
