Chez Dre Patisserie Archives

Was looking around for good Patisserie for my visit and found this place was recommended by many. Chez Dre Patisserie Boulangerie is located a stone throw away from South Melbourne Market.

If you are coming from South Melbourne Market, it is abit tricky to locate this show as the signage on top of the unit is not actually the cafe as it is another outlet. You have to walk till the end on the orange colour building and a small door, push it through then you will be greeted with a busy cafe.

Pastry Chef Andrea and partner found this place and converted this whole warehouse into a modern patisserie and cafe with a bit of greens into the outlet. .

Love its ambiance that is with rustic, industrial aesthetic with an eclectic mix of marble-topped tables, upcycled/reclaimed timber and green button-tufted banquettes. Is a clever design layout where it can be divided into various spaces from the intimate banquette seating to large communal tables,

When I see their Patisserie range, I am spoilt for choices yet I am too full with my 2 round of breakfast at South Melbourne Market. They have interesting menu and I can only finish anther 2 more patisserie.

This two capture my attention the most. Blueberry and Yogurt Cruffin & Baileys Chocolate Fondant – Bailey Cremeux, almond tuil, milk choclate chantily & chocolate fondant with latte.

Cutting through the cruffin did excites me as with a mild crack sound and there is the blueberry filling in it. This is sure going to be sweetness overdoze.

Baileys Chocolate Fondant is awesome where the top just crack, and chocolate fondant is nice, not too thick yet with creamy end as just the right texture and not too sweet, base is not too hard that pairs well with flavour.
