Restaurant Wong Soon Kee is one of my place that I used to eat alot during when I was studying at Metropolitan College back in those very long long time ago. Let me seee…I think should have been around 6 years already as I left Metro was year 2003.hmmmmm….back in those days, would eat late lunch if we crave to go here makan. Cuz they start operating after 2pm. Go too early also don have.

As I tried 2 attempt previously as once they were closed, 2nd time I was too early thought of trying my luck as I was there in that area early, mana tau..don have..

Average queue here is about 10-30 minutes, depends on your timing.

Currently it had become more like a family business whereby 3 of their son is at the stall helping out.

An option for rice or their chee cheong fun

Friendly family service.. . .

Dining in here can be very hot and if you do not mind for a good plate of nasi lemak with some sweat then do drop by.

This is what I usually order back in those days, their signature fried chicken wit white cabbage & mutton (curry banjir)and of course……….

The fried chicken that must not miss. I waited 15 minutes for the chicken and yet they still taste the same as last time.

I highly recommended this place to eat if you stand a chance to go nearby that area.

Just Like It! A Revolutionary F&B @ 1-Utama

Few weeks back while waiting for movie, saw this new ice cream stall located infront of GSC 1-Utama ticketing counter with many people flocking around. Then only realise its something new. Just Like It

When I was travelling last year to Sydney, I did saw this concept of ice-cream and thought it would be very interesting or something new to me. With all the dry ice type smoke flowing out from the stand mixer. Just Like It! Ice cream is another revolutionary of F&B.

The concept of the outlet is rather unique and impressive with chilling nitrogen gas, all the staff looks like lab technicians with lab coats, beakers, volumetric flasks….

Well, if they are not ice cream then what are those? hmmm . .. Their offering of flavours are pretty unique with New Popcorn, Durian Durian, chocolate flakes or as above the menu you can see.

Can see that all the flavours are pretty concentrated.

and the add ons that we choose to blend along ..

Their process of ice-cream is rather interesting by pouring their N2 liquid and also the puree that they have.. .

This is how interesting as it would get with so much smoke from the mixer ..

After a while it became into solid form and tadaa.. our ice cream is made. . .

The process continues if you order other flavour, as they wash the item and prepare for next.

Tried both their Mango and Durian durian. The texture is smooth and taste of both flavour is not bad. Durian have the strong durian taste as they do add on little durian meat in it, yet I still find that overall mouthful taste, flavour and smoothness of it, still Sydney much better.

Nevertheless, its still one of the new concept in town that did make a buzz out of it. . Price at RM 7.90 – RM11.90. Still worth for you to try it out at least once, to see what is the difference between the rest of the ice cream.

Famous Mille Crepes Nadeje @ 3 Two Square, PJ

I believe many of you that head to Melacca/ Melaka will stop by at this famous mille crepe that is always pack with people (click here). Well, good news for many of us that now the famous cafe had expended its wings to KL and being their first branch, Nadeje now is open at 3 Two Square, PJ which is nearby Jaya 33.

In the premises itself, the cafe is located inside one of the lot and if you are coming in thru Toyota Entrance, that would be the most ideal entrance to hunt for this cafe.

I have heard some of my friends that they have to queue for quite a while and as long as 30-45 minutes for their cakes. I guess luck is on our side when we reach its only 2 person away and within 3 minutes we gotten our cakes. Its a weekday lunch. 🙂

concept of their cafe in KL is totally different compare to their main Branch in Melaka. Its more contemporary design and seating are pretty limited with only 4-5 tables in door and another 3-5 more outdoor.

In this cafe mostly are cakes and coffee are available, more like a tea time hunting ground or craving for dessert then this would be one of the option.

Not only that, as this round I notice that they have doughnut added into their range and as usual, there are many choices of crepes to hunt for.

This is my crepes for taking away as usual I prefer their Original.

Well, people, now you need not drive all the way to Melaka to hunt for your favorite dessert shop as now they are open in this area for less than 10 days.

Taiwanese Dessert, BlackBall @ Gurney Plaza, Penang

In KL most of us fancy certain brand of Taiwanese Dessert as for Penang people, there are certain brand that capture their attention too. Blackball in Penang seems to be doing pretty well that have won many hearts of dessert people. I realiase it works for them in Penang too as this brand have quite a no.of branches.

First time testing out this brand, which it seems is another famous brand from Taiwan that certainly have no doubt in the taste.

While waiting for movies, then chill here for a while. Interior are pretty similiar to the others.

Try one of their new signature with corn base ice, with taro balls, grass jelly, corn, jelly and ice cream. First few bites of corn ice taste alright as the more we take, we could not finish it as if not mistaken pineapple was added in as there are sourish end. Taro balls wasnt done that well, as the texture is soft and non chewy. Not bad overall.

Another Blackball signature is serve with Taro Ball, Taro Q, Pearl, grass jelly and red beans served with some fresh milk (if serve cold). This is not bad as pretty strong taste of grass jelly is there, red bean added the bite texture, and I find it too much pearl for me. Next time should request less pearls. 😀

Try out their classic Pearl Milk Tea and 25% is too pale for us as other brand 25% is just perfect. For Blackball 50% sugar in their drinks is just perfect. I love their Winter Melon Tea. Strong in taste and not that sweet. Next time I know where to ta pau my drinks before movie.

Movie Review – CNY Movie – Hotel Deluxe & I Love Hong Kong 2013

Chinese New Year mostly after family reunion there is not much things to do besides hangout out with friends for drink or head to cinema to watch movie and always there are CNY movie to watch as this year there are a few, as I heard local movie is out, left both HOng Kong movie that got good feed back.

Genre: Comedy

Hotel Deluxe is about a 5 star resort being run by a few incompetent staff. As the management knew the problem, they hired a new Hotel Manager to restructure the whole team. As rumous also spread that a mysterious hotel detective will arrive soon to check on the hotel conditions to ensure it match its 5 star rating. Then the new hotel manager got in 2 famous actress to do filming in the hotel to boost up the image of it. Then a good friend of Ronald Cheng came back from travelling and she needs help by getting a fake husband to inherit her father huge assets.

Its a great movie and filled with laughter. If you are really bored and compare to so many Chinese New Year movie, this is the most highly recommended by me to watch first. . .

A movie about Hong Kong in the 70’s are bustling with opportunities. Running a restaurant with moutain high debt, that wanted to suicide himself till a fairy came down and talk to him. Talking back in those days what happen to the fairy had made him look thru alot of things after that as the fairy show him what would happen to him if he wasnt around. Then he realise that he should cherish all the things he have as he are left with great friends and family.

Another great movie about friendship and family value.

This round both Hong Kong movie are so much better with good story line compare to last year and few years back. Another great movie to watch.

Movie Review: The Tower – 타워 (Korean)

Genre: Drama/ Thriller (The Tower)

When I was looking thru at cinema listing on what movie to watch, there is none interesting and starting to check all the trailer. The Tower capture my attention and decided to watch it without any expectation. Guess what?

Its a movie that every Korean celebrate Christmas and like all of us do especially on Christmas eve by throwing party at condo, hotels and restaurant. At this eve, with a grand celebration took place as the owner of the complex, Mr. Jo Sky Tower in Seoul decides to hold a “White Christmas” party for tenants and VIPs on Christmas Day, with helicopters circling above, sprinkling snow onto the party. While the party is in its climax celebration then strong wind blow into the helicopter that makes them out of control and crashes into the building and the building catches fire.

This 120 story luxurious landmark building complex being flame up from top and many VVIP got trap. Fireman to the rescue, people in the building trying to survive and . . . . .

A superb movie that you must watch, a great flow of movie line filled with laughter that will makes you jump out from your seat, heart pumping and tears drop. Never knew Korean production is so good now! At near 1 of the last scene on his act Captain of fire fighter makes me relate back Armageddon (one of my all time favourite movie) where he sacrifise himself for the rest of the team.

This movie also let me know that to be a Captain for fire fighter is not easy, need to understand so many terms, especially physics, think logically, act fast and many more. Respect the captain in this movie.

One of the best Korean movie I have watch so far.
