It has been a while since I last wrote my review for movie, work pilling up and blogging getting busier. CZ 12 also know as Chinese Zodiac is the latest movie from Jackie Chan or would say in another way will be his last action movie as his age is already catching up.

CZ 12 is about on a quest to find the 12 mystical zodiac bronze sculpture that had been taken away from the war back in 1860, that represents the 12 sign. Then Jackie Chan teams being hired by antique dealers to track down the remaining 6 missing pieces. France were JC’s first destination, where two of the bronzes are believed to be held in a private collection. Along the way, they have made  an uneasy alliance with Coco, a Chinese student in Paris, who is active in a global movement which campaigns for stolen cultural treasures to be returned to their homelands. Trail and after trail of clues landed them in a tropical island in South Seas where they believe the sinking ship had carried massive treasure to store the rest of the missing pieces.

Its a great to see JC back in action movie, with alot of unique and amazing stunts, of course his movie always filled with some part of humour. The mind blowing and get us glued to the scene with eyes open wide is when he fell into the cliff of volcano. That stunt is speechless where he try to protect the bronze head with his life.

Truly another great movie from Jackie Chan. – Recommended to watch as the whole 120 mins is very entertaining.

Genre: Adventure/ Drama

A movie that I have been waiting for when I saw the movie preview months ago, as another movie by Director Ang Lee knowing him that he will produce another remarkable movie. Life of Pi is base on a best selling novel.

Life of Pi is about a young guy who survive in a ship wreck disaster that hurled into an epic journey of survival in the Ocean. With a few survivor that bring them through the journey, and last standing with the Bengal Tiger with how Pi Patel build the connection between 2 of them during this surviving journey. Beyond that during his journey, he came out with a great adventure that no one would have believe in it.

I am so impress with this movie as you have to watch this movie with your imagination as the effect of 3-D just blast you away. During the movie I was like whoaaaaa. . Those effect of the movie really bring your imagination to another world. Unbelievable. Its a movie that is produce with some 3-D effects therefore its a must watch in 3-D. If you don not don bother to watch it.

One of the best movie with human 3-D effect after Avatar. A movie which is a MUST WATCH ~ Do watch their making of Life of Pi, you will be so impressive how much effort and after production that they have done.

[Remark] Its just so funny to see how I write a food blog post 3 years ago as this post was written 2009. Because of the pictures was deleted in blogspot now I have re-visited this place to make it available again. One of my favourite mee goreng – Mee Sotong place.
This is one of my favourite mee goreng stall or I would rate the best Mee Goreng in Penang, came back a few times, but did not manage to eat it, cuz it was close on Sunday and usually came back for the weekend and today, the crowd was suprisingly alot. I mean DAMM alot. I have to wait for 1 hour and 15 mins for this because it was holiday season. Wrong timing to eat.

mee sotong (5)

The pricing consider one of the very reasonable that they are offering with the portion being served. There is usually a queue when you go at, wrong timing. This is the crowd that ta pau, have not include the crowd that are dining in.Those people that ta pau were at least 4 packs and above. Celaka

mee sotong (7)

Tadaa…this is the ‘Mee Goreng Sotongthat been served. My favorite. Tambah Pedas pedas. Even though I cant really take spicy but to the hack, it taste bloody nice. The first 3 mouth I am already sweating like crazee, it is just worth the taste. Alot of sotong on top, taste a bit sweet and you have to stir the whole plate up. It has the ‘wok’ taste, not too dry compare to those like eating dry noodle. It only cost RM3.50 for this. (Now RM4)

mee sotong (6)

To those who could not take spicy noodle yet would want to enjoy this famous mee goreng, you can go for one without chili. Usually anything without chili is quite blend in taste. This plate of noodle is flavorful as they are fried with their own special sauce in it and mixture of sotong pull up the taste.

mee sotong (1)

With the noodle served, you people must not miss this stall. directly beside it. Their Signature drink which is…………………..

mee sotong (4)

‘ Coconut Shake’, it doesnt taste so sweet, have a very strong coconut juice taste, with vanilla-ice cream and of course the coconut meat in it. Only RM 2. It is very famous among all the patrons there.

mee sotong (3)

and for this last drink as being regular, the taukeh very nice, make me 1 very special refreshing juice which is called Limau Shake’ which not many people know about it. After having those spicy food. This will be the perfect drink to go along with it. You will have the feeling ahhhh…so satisfied. RM1.50 for this wonderfull drink

mee sotong (2)

Besides those, Ice Kacang in this stall seems a hit to many people, just that I do not really prefer it. Different taste bud.

[update 1/5/2016:Close Down] know now as Pretz and Beanz

Coffee industry in Malaysia is picking up, as there are more and more of these stand alone outlets that offer different kinds of coffee to consumers. One of the latest brand which is Chilla Cup is growing fast around Klang Valley.

Solaris (1)

Tried their outlet in Solaris area which I have passby a few times. Right before my road trip, decided to drop by for coffee.

Solaris (2)

Design of the outlet are nice and simple with brick wall with sofa seating area.

Solaris (3)

Solaris (4)

I must say that I am impress with the manner of the outlet manager not only that, as he found out that I am a blogger, Suprise.. besides that he is nice friendly and know what is the best offering in the outlet.

Solaris (5)

Order came in with some of my friends that went to the outlet before, Chilla Cup Pretzels is a must try, order my classic flavour Cinnamon pretzel. It was prepare fresh, right from scratch that need to wait for 5-10 minutes, soft, and nice. I must say its good~ no wonder they love it.

Solaris (6)

Fruit pancake was recommended and looks great at its presentation. Not long after that, the whole thing turn soggy pretty instant because of fruit was use that cause water generate down to the pancake, we only finish half of it.

Solaris (7)

Latte large to start of with, it was rather dissappointed with the froth being in this version, not only that, it taste no comment.

Solaris (8)

Mocha large was next, at least it taste slightly better and there are room for improvement. I only can comment that different barista will brew different quality out. They still need lots room of improvement to make a good cup of coffee.

Overall, it is not a cheap breakfast with paying nearly RM 40++ for 4 items. With the price being spent I could easily find other place that offer better food and coffee.

Genre: Action

It has been quite a while I have watch Hong Kong movie which I nearly gave up hope on them. With the latest flick Cold War that do massive publicity before even the movie screening and huge superstar line up like Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung and a few others for this movie had make them an advantage. Huge praise over these 2 new director had made the action film industry a U-turn.

A movie about Asia’s most safety country are to be tested. This round their system are to be tested as it hit mid night, the hijackers possess direct knowledge of police procedures hijack a fully loaded police van carrying the force’s most advanced equipment and five highly trained officers then make them disappeared off the grid. With high ransom demand from the kidnapers, with safety of the hostages or the reputation of the police are at stake, this new case called Cold War being named.

I must say, one of the best movie after long while that thrilled all of us with all mystery puzzle that keep you guessing who is the mastermind behind the cases. Then only realise its . .. . (watch yourself). Some of my friends are confuse on the movie, but just to let you know, there might be a part 2.

Its a must watch movie! Love how the director shoot the whole movie.. . Do watch it in 2-D (quite big difference without 2-D format)

It had been quite a while since I last visited this shop that used to be one of my favourite shop to come for ‘Tong Sui’ and some kuih when I used to stay in Loke Yew. Kedai Makanan dan Minuman PMK still maintain one of my favourite place to come by as I usuall come here pretty late around 9’ish whereby most of the stuff sold out but still can get those what I want.

PMK (1)

Kedai Makanan dan Minuman PMK is located nearby Pudu Plaza where its not hard to find. A simple coffee shop that offer local delicacies that are pretty well known for their Chinese deserts and snacks that can satisfy my crave easily, would say one of the best stall in KL for tong sui.

PMK (2)

PMK (3)

Price in here are very decent . . .

PMK (4)

Its a simple kopitiam seating arrangement. . .

PMK (5)

Some of their signature kuih .. .

PMK (6)

My Ginger soup with Tong Yuen, is one of my favourite. I used to hate ginger soup as time pass by I learn to accept and start to like it. Ginger soup base here is slightly strong and spicy and those who do not prefer the strong taste would end up disliking it. Comes with sesame filling and pair perfectly with the soup base.

PMK (7)

Another one of my favourite is Herbal Egg Tea, that not many places can cook this tong sui very well. One which I often make a take away as its too good to be miss. Mild in taste yet light fragrant on herbal taste make it a good soup to turn down. Comes with an herbal egg too.

PMK (8)

As when I crave for dumplings, here would be an option that price is reasonable yet comes generous ingredient.

PMK (9)

If any of you do pass by here, here is definitely one of the place to drop by for visit especially on their ‘tong sui’. Well, another recommended place by me.
