Love their interior, which is pretty simple with red brick wall, high stool coffee tables around the area, sofa seating behind that makes it one of a attraction for younger crowds to hang out.

lonbay (1)

Lonbay coffee is actually operated by young entrepreneur that he have the passion of coffee and looking for something that can suits local taste bud. Originate from Johor and now bringing up to KL to share with other coffee lover. Beans are roasted in his yard in Johor and its organic. . .

lonbay (2)

lonbay (4)

Why Lonbay Coffee?

lonbay (5)

Siphon brewing method that have a special coffee that takes about 2 days to for the process and make about 8 bottles per time.

lonbay (6)

coffee price is not that bad along with light food.

lonbay (3)

Coffee Luwak is something new to me yet I have heard it many many times from coffee lovers and friends. Its a love and hate relationship like durian according to them. It doesnt come cheap yet its good to try once.

Kopi Luwak – is known as the most luxurious coffee in the world. How me and my friend always describe on this is – poo from Musang, that is how it is price so expensive. Kopi Luwak is a name for many specific cultivars and blends of arabica, robusta, liberica or other beans eaten by civets. The ‘Luwak’ or known in  Malaysia as ”Musang”, eats the raw coffee berry and because it cannot digest the berry, proceeds to secrets the bean. It can easily cost up to USD500/500 grams, roughly RM 150 per 100grams.

lonbay (7)

Kopi Luwak is brewed in siphons using organically cultivated beans with certificate of authenticity and it can cater up to 2 person per session.

lonbay (8)

Tadaa. . .here is our version of coffee luwak. Light in body and slightly bitter after taste.

lonbay (9)

This is what attracts me, makes me feel they really do heavy research on their coffee line in Spiderman movie. My attention have all move to this little tubes.

lonbay (10)

Its Coffee Enzyme. Something new and first time hearing it too. . Lonbay Coffee Enzyme is extract from organic Liberica coffee bean. It helps the body to digest food and converting it into nutrients and assimilate nutrients from proteins, carbohydrates, fats and fibre. Top it all, Lonbay Coffee Enzyme supplementation in our diets as below:-
  • Improves overall digestion so we have more energy for life
  • Aids in disease prevention and boosts the immune system
  • Minimizes the negative effects of the cancer therapies
  • Reduces the effects of aging, wrinkles, sun spots, inflammation or soreness of muscles and joint pain
  • Prevention of heart disease and speed healing after surgery
  • Cleanses our system from allergic reactions
If you smells direct from the tube it gives a strong smell of vineger like and very sourish. We did try to have a little sip from it and it taste like a strong compact essence.

lonbay (11)

Honey Lemon with Coffee Enzyme is one of the way to pair it and it had turn into our favourite. Sourish end that pairs well with lemon and honey that gives a slight hint of sweetness. If you have not tried this before, its a great glass or drink to have before or after meal. Highly Recommended!

lonbay (12)

The LonBay Iced Drip is the one that settle at the counter with the huge siphon process that can be served in two ways, warm or chilled. Another type of coffee that is light in taste, not too strong and mild after taste.

lonbay (13)

Besides that, they do serve light food ..  Hawaiian Toast

lonbay (14)

Taj Burger

lonbay (15)

Bolognese Seafood

lonbay (16)

Bolognese Chicken Mince

lonbay (17)

Green Sauce Spaghetti

lonbay (18)

Club Sandwich

lonbay (19)

Peanut + Butter thick toast and they have their bread made by themselves and the texture of bread is pretty unique. not bad`

lonbay (20)

Kaya + Butter

lonbay (21)

Sour Sop Smoothies, Honey Peach Smoothies, Ice Blended Mochaccino

lonbay (22)

Milk Tea HK Style & Kung Fu Tea Tarik

lonbay (23)

American Chocolate

lonbay (24)

Classic Cheese is also not to be miss with soft cheeze texture and crust at the bottom is not too hard and would go well with coffee.

One thing if you would love to try out is their Enzyme coffee. and I sure do not mind to come here to have enzyme coffee honey lemon with their spaghetti that easily beats many places in their flavor and a slice of cheese cake to close the meal here. Pretty good~

I have been using this road so often for the past 2 years since I work around the area, and pass thru this place countless time, that one of the reason it caught my attention was a mini signage outside the house and got to know its actually a restaurant not a house. Told my colleague many times about this place yet still manage to drop by until recently Eric and Jennifer bring me here. 😀 – Rumah Ku Gallery and Cafe

Update: Jan 2016) HAd move to Jaya One

RumahKu (1)

Rumahku is a humble place that tug along busy street of Jalan University ( directly opp the hospital) with a single story build up bungalow converted to restaurant and you will be amaze of the concept when you walk in.

RumahKu (2)

The owner design the dining place that provides homey ambiance by reflecting 3 ethnic races of our country in each room.

RumahKu (3)

Decoration of the restaurant is rather simple but the feeling to be in here is just unique.

RumahKu (4)

RumahKu (5)

Upon looking at the menu, surprise by the price at first and followed by serving variety of food from local to western.

RumahKu (6)

RumahKu (7)

I started with a cup of hot coffee. as roasted fresh daily, will be robust in flavour and perfect for early morning with my half boil egg and toast.:D . For coffee lover this is one of my recommendation! Mango Lassi, that taste of smoothness. Then one of my favourite in the afternoon is the Ginger Lemon Grass Tea, definitely a thirst quench drink  this hot afternoon. Just refreshing. Recommended!

RumahKu (8)

Tuna Cutlet, at first I thought it was something simple from the snacks that we can obtain in ramadan market or pasar malam and it definitely proof me wrong that it is filled with Tuna. .

RumahKu (10)

Fried to perfection in golden yellow brown and filled with solid ingredients yet it is soft from inside crispy from outside. As the taste of curry powder is mild that did not over power the taste of tuna and can be addictive if you have more

RumahKu (9)

Yam Basket Chicken, is a dish from Chinese menu and they manage to cook it exactly Chinese style. Yam is fried to crips as it is that yam is soft in the inside and filled up with pan fried vegetable which is flavourful.

RumahKu (11)

Curry Laksa that serve in fiery red that might let you think its spicy and do not let the colour deceive you. Filled with coconut base cream curry and we just love the taste of it. Thick in soup flavour and spicy level is just nice to our liking. something you should look  out for as it serve along with generous amount of ingredient.

RumahKu (12)

I always thought that Green Curry Chicken would end up being Thai style, as the chef improvise it to their version. Cook the curry till dry and well coated onto the chicken and serve along. Food presentation that attracts us on the first impression.

RumahKu (13)

I always need to have my meal with a plate of vegetable as Mixed sauté vegetables is fried along that mantain the freshness of the vegetable and crips of lotus root.

RumahKu (14)

As we are pretty full by this point and Indonesian style Claypot prawn was serve upon. Aroma of the curry flavour trails onto the air makes us cant wait to take a sip of the curry. The taste of the curry is superb, a bit mild spicy that is not too thick, that will goes very well with a bowl of rice and fresh prawn that cook along is medium size. I just drink the curry like soup. Love it~

RumahKu (15)

Rumah Ku Spiced Honeyed Salmon is a bit more towards local western style that serve along with fried rice. Fried rice is aromatic, as salmon is well marinated with honey and mild spices flavour at your tongue is just nice. – Recommended!

RumahKu (16)

If you opt for more local flavour then Sambal Chicken would be your choice. Chicken is being grill and cook along with curry to ensure its coated well onto the chicken. Well marinated.

I am totally impress on this restaurant that serve fine and delicious food and I have been returning to this restaurant couple of times. I must say that this is one of the hidden gem in PJ area that serve good HALAL food. Since now its Ramadan month, definately one of the place to Buka Puasa. Recommended restaurant. According to some of the bloggers, some of them mention that their Brickfields outlet taste better. Well, its up to you to try it out.

I have work around PJ for quite a while and it excites me during lunch time that I have seen many bloggers blog nice food around this area. It was something that I have discover recently as I have been craving for nice Koay Teow Th’ng or Koay Teow Noodle soup and asked my friend, he said. . You siau ah, one of the best Koay Teow Noodle Soup one just located opposite your office la which is at Section 17, walk also can reach. I am a bit stun when he answer me that.Restaurant Chang Jiang White Coffee offer a Penang version of Koay Teow Soup.

koey teow thing (1)

Then Ken (Foodpoi.com) with his good effort, he purposely drive all the way from Kota Damansara to bring me opposite to eat. kekek~ Its a small little stall that operate below the low cost flat and one of the BIG setback is the parking. Very limited parking space and some idiot drivers will double park infront of the shop to make it worst.

koey teow thing (2)

According to my friend, normally you have to wait for an hour to wait for it as its one of the famous one. Best to head to this stall before 12.30pm to enjoy the

koey teow thing (3)

This is where you place your order with what kind of noodle you want.

koey teow thing (4)

Lunch time its usually filled with office crowd. Its a bit warm here so you  might be just sweating away.

koey teow thing (5)

If you are a coffee lover, just do not miss their cofffee, strong and thick as to my liking. I had 2 glass and the ffect on me was dead sleepy after that. – Highly Recommended!

koey teow thing (6)

Here is my bowl of Koay Teow Soup Noodle

koey teow thing (7)

I always prefer mine in Koay Teow + Noodle for this and the koay teow is smooth and silky. Soup base is sweet that know they have make their efford in boiling it with other ingredients to make it there, add on with fried garlic. For add on’s they add on chicken for me which is also one of their signature as you can order the whole plate by yourself. as we reach there late, it was already sold out. Portion is pretty big for a bowl of RM5

I have dine here couple of times after that only just blogged about it. hehe

If you are looking for Penang Version Koay Teow Soup, definately this is one of the recommended place as its quite near to Penang taste version. Service is quite okay too on their buzy’ness level.

I guess we were too free on Sunday and drove all the way for mini food hunting at Klang, but after been to Klang for a few times but I still find it quite a distance to travel. Nevertheless our first stop in the morning breakfast at Klang was at this little kopitiam Chong Kok Kopitiam located nearby one of a famous street which is around Little India.

Chong Kok

A shop that still look classic from inside out that is easily spotted with many people looking for places.

One thing I am glad off that my friends know that I love to eat and they would recommend their favourite place. This round James introduce me to this little coffee shop Restaurant New Sun Ho, corner lot located in OUG which is famous for Loh Mee. I have been here a few times that I usually forgot to take my camera out, and this round was a bit unlucky.

sun ho

This Restaurant Sun Ho is easily spot and located with its fading buidling colour and suddenly a stricking green shade extention infront of the restaurant.

sun ho (2)

The Loh Mee stall is located exactly in the middle of the coffee shop.

sun ho (3)

It was operate by both this husband and wife that during lunch time, they are seriously busy. There are a few types of noodle you can choose from but their signature is ‘Fat Noodle’ but the good business for the day that their signature noodle sold out, so I opted ‘Yee Mee’ and some of them order ‘Fried Noodle’

sun ho (4)

Under this condition, do expect alot of heat and sweat flowing out from your body if you do meet such a hot day.
