When I was doing my research for which cafe to hunt for, Seven Seeds Specialty Coffee is one of a search results that constantly pop out. Asked my friend is it worth to try it and their response was, they were once very good, since then their quality drop. However traveller like me still worth to visit once.

7th Seeds (1)

Oh well, still pay a visit to them after brunch at Three Bags Full. Love all the cafe concept here as it do look like a dead place and upon entering the door, you will be greeted with bustling noises.

7th Seeds (2)

Another impressive interior coffee place. Really love their design and Seven Seeds is actually one of a roasters.

7th Seeds (3)

7th Seeds (4)

Again, waiting in queue is necessary as it easily takes about 10-30 minutes, depending on your luck of arriving on that period of time. We were lucky as we got our spot for less than 10 minutes.

7th Seeds (5)

7th Seeds (6)

Love the little shelf that sits at the cashier area for you to choose from.

7th Seeds (7)

Click here for their food menu

7th Seeds (9)

Was told that at time they have coffee tasting. .

7th Seeds (10)

Tried out their latte and  long black. Slightly more acidic as not really my type of coffee for me.

7th Seeds (11)

Latte @ AUD 4

7th Seeds (12)

What stood out is their Mork Hot Chocolate @ Aud 4.50 as this is my first time to come across such combination where they add in a long piece of chocolate for it to melt.

7th Seeds (13)

Super full from brunch and still feel like ordering another dish which is their 24 hours slowed cook goat shoulder yellow curry with roasted cauliflower and roti bread. @ Aud 18. Great combination of curry as can taste the spices of it, not too spicy which I think the locals will accept it and its a pretty decent portion too.

7th Seeds (14)

Its great to see some of my friends here after 10 years and also brining me around for great food and cafe hoping.

Like they said, Seven Seeds is worth to visit once as I love their another concept at Docklands.

I have been passing this road daily to head to work and little did I know that there is actually a cafe sitting in this building. This building which is rather new that recently open its door to public that comes with service apartment and residence. The Forum is located at the lobby of this building facing Hartamas.

the forum (1)

It looks like a huge glasshouse, nice interior and a mezzanine floor.

the forum (2)

Lovely cafe with spacious seating area and not to mention friendly crew.

the forum (3)

the forum (4)

They have cake of the day and I must say Humming Bird Cake is a must try cake. Soft, fluffy, and cocunut crumbs ontop adds on the little flavour of it.

the forum (5)

the forum (6)

For today, we are delighted that we will be enjoying our brunch with Moet Brunch pairing.

the forum (7)

From the menu which cost at RM 128nett which will serve you a minature Moet and also their signature main’s and also a dessert for you and additional bottles are priced at RM78.00 nett

the forum (8)

A bubbly afternoon to kick start on the day.

the forum (9)

Prime Angus Sirloin steak with roasted chat potatoes and asparagus serve with demi-glace

the forum (11)

Another main is Pan Seared Salmon Mousse stuffed with asparagus, Dill & Prawn with rich lobster gravy. For this, the salmon might be slightly over cook however the rich lobster gravy is pretty strong and intence that give the richness of the dish and goes well with bubbly Moet to end it with mild sweet taste and hint of sweet lobster sauce is tasted.

the forum (12)

When it comes to dessert, Orange Creme Brulee, white Chocolate Mousse & Berry Sorbet is nicely presented in a set of 3.

the forum (13)

the forum (14)

Raspberry Truffle with Tullie is rather interesting with richness of its flavour.

the forum (15)

Among the 3, Raspberry Panna Cotta has the most beautiful presentation among all as this is definitely one of it that won our hearts over. It looks to pretty to be eaten. serve with Tempered Chocolate in a cage caramel dome.

the forum (16)

Upon eating it, in the middle it gives you the little surprise with raspberry oozing out.

the forum (17)

the forum (18)

This is how greedy my friend is, having all by herself along by kidnapping my portion.

the forum (19)

End my meal with coffee and I quite like the coffee here (which is not part of the set) Mild, not acidic, that suits to my liking.

DSCF8293

In their menu, they also highlight their signature Soy Chai Latte @ RM 18. It is price so high with a reason as they use fresh herbs and ingredient in to fill up a glass. Those of you are not use to the taste might dislike it. For me I still prefer my classic chai.

DSCF8295

One thing to take note,  as they are new establishment that open its door to public less than a month and when it reach full house, food might be slow and quality might be slightly different, as I have been here a few times and encounter different version, nevertheless there are still room of improvement for them as food is decent, coffee is spot on and service is great.

Bubbly Brunch is only available from 1st December 2015 to 31st January 2016, on weekends from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. Prior reservations are encouraged, kindly contact +603 6412 0833 or +6013 266 1333.

Remark: parking inside the premises might be a hassle as you need to take the ticket to head to the hotel side, take lift all the way up to their rooftop lobby and all the way down again for RM 5/3 hours. Easiest way out is to park at the roadside if you can find a spot.

On my recent visit to Melbourne, I visited one of a well known cafe known as Kettle Black and now in Penang have another similar version known as Black Kettle. By the name itself, it sure do bring up my expectation with a few fellow bloggers hype over it.

black kettle (1)

Upon walking in, I am certainly impress with their whole interior design which is quite posh, with natural sunlight at the middle seating area and with a wall of green walls behind certainly look very inviting. As you walk further back, it feels like you are walking to another zone, where it feels more like classy European dining area.

In this bakery cafe, it is also well known for their freshly baked French Bread.

black kettle (8)

On the look of it, it sure do look promising as its being display on a cute basket, however it is quite let down for them to use a clear plastic wrap around it and decided to pick two and give it a try.

black kettle (9)

black kettle (10)

black kettle (11)

black kettle (12)

Choices in the menu are pretty huge menu and could not show the other side as its corrupted.

black kettle (13)

Cafe Latte @ RM 10 is a pretty decent cup of coffee with mild acidic to my liking.

black kettle (14)

Tried two of their pastries with RM 3.50 each.

black kettle (15)

Egg Benedict @ RM 24 is one of a dish highly recommended by many including their own staff. Ovearall for Penang standard, I would say can be one of the best few in town as its filled with Sauteed Spinach, Smoked Salmon and a carefully poached Egg atop of soft and Brioche is done pretty alright and nicely top with slightly thick buttery Hollandaise sauce. Just that I have eaten better ones before.

black kettle (16)

At the price tag of RM 24 for a Ricotta Cheese Pancake is very steep for many people for such a portion. No doubt I would rate this is star of the dish as its elegantly and nicely presented yet pancake is cook to perfection, slightly crust on the outside and fluffy and soft inside. Top with variety ingredients such as seasonal berries, avocado, roasted nuts & honey butter.

black kettle (17)

Roasted Chicken Sandwich @ RM 26. Nothing to shout about.

black kettle (18)

Another highly recommended dish by many is this British origin, Rhubarb Crumble @ RM 8.50. Indeed Rhubarb is one of a favorite ingredients used by many Aussie cook, however for this version might be quite unique for me. This might be too dry for me or maybe best to recommend to go along with some recommended pairing from them.

black kettle (19)

I guess my expectation was built too high from a few reviews. With those price tag, certainly there are many better options available. However, its a great cafe with nice ambiance and friendly barista.

Melbourne had never left my heart since the day I left back to my home country and till recently I visit back the state which had now made them no.1 most livable state in the world for the past 3 years. Coffee scene had evolve so much and Industry Beans is one of the top cafe was recommended to visit by my friend and so did drop by on my first visit when I am back.

industry beans (1)

Industry Beans Cafe is located in Fitzroy 2 streets away from main street and hidden with a few other cafes here. Making its mark to many of their regular, I was advise to head there early as the queue can be crazy with average waiting time 30 minutes – 1 hour. I was lucky to get my seat for less than 10 minutes when I arrive at 10.30am.

industry beans (2)

I am amazed with their menu and by written there Winter Menu, I do believe then its a seasonal menu by them then. Not only the wordings and description makes me drool over the food as their coffee range is rather impressive too with a good selection from their normal coffee to Aeropress Coffee & Tea. I wish I bring more friends as I can order more. Oh well . .

industry beans (3)

Further more specialize coffee, the have another menu with their own beans with full description for you to hunt for.

industry beans (4)

industry beans (5)

Love their settings of the cafe as its house in a warehouse version and they do have their own roasters sit right at the back of the kitchen.

industry beans (6)

All their staff are very friendly as even the barista allow me to take their pics. With that, I am totally amazed with them on how good their coffee is as there is another coffee counter with this barista below only doing aeropress drinks.

industry beans (7)

industry beans (8)

industry beans (9)

They do have outdoor seating area too.

industry beans (10)

My friend she ordered fresh juices, Rubarb, pear, lemon and mint @ Aud 5.5. Indeed its a great detox drink for early morning. Got my Latte (aroma of the coffee is not acidic, slightly stronger than average to my liking, yet a well balance after aroma taste) and another of their drink capture my attention – Cold Brew Soda @ AUD 6 – cold brew, ehtiopian tade guji coffee with soda and sweet lemon syrup. (loving it as the coffee taste is so aromatic, mild and just perfect, soda give it very refreshing)

industry beans (11)

industry beans (12)

Start off with Coconut Crusted Brioche @ AUD 18. Upon serving, I am totally mesmerize with their presentation for a brunch meal as it is serve with with pineapple, crushed peanuts, lime curd & coffee caviar. Its quite an interesting combination as you get bursting flavors with aromatic coconut, sourness of lime, and little ball of coffee caviar burst with bitter flavor to end it is truly impressive! A great combination of taste.

industry beans (13)

industry beans (14)

I love my next dish too as it do look like a sweet breakfast. Rosewater Compressed Watermelon @ AUD 17 – Passion fruit panna cotta, chia seed granola rose water and rhubarb. Upon placing down, the aroma of fried granola is pretty prominent and its too pretty to be eaten.  Panna cotta done to perfection as its wobbly, less sweet to my liking, hint of mild milk and coconut is tasted, with a bit of sourness from rubarb and I am in love with their compressed watermelon. Its something new to me that i have yet tasted in this version (which it does look like a perfect cut of salmon).

industry beans (15)

industry beans (16)

order small plates with Peanut Crusted Egg @ AUD 8, Nahm Jim, Peanuts and pickled chili. A simple dish with bursting flavours.  It is one of the best brunch that I come across for my trip and indeed I would highly recommend this to those anyway that travel to Melbourne and not to miss out this cafe. Great coffee, great food & great service. What can we ask for more?

Coffea Coffee is one of the latest joint to pop up in the Jalan Telawi neighbourhood. Never knew what it was as I was dining nearby and the concept looks pretty interesting. Decided to pop by to give it a try.

From there only learn that its actually a Korean Franchise brand that making its wave to Malaysia begining of this year.

coffee (1)

This are one of the few coffee place that really decorate up the place because they are franchise chain and have to follow suit on certian interior design. NEvertheless sure its one of a comfortable place to hang out.

coffee (2)

Looking at their menu, I am impress on their coffee range as not only their original of coffee product that they are carrying they also do sell some single origins coffee. Decided to try one out columbian whereby my friend he used to order.

coffee (3)

coffee (4)

coffee (5)

there are some cakes available too. Never tempted to try or maybe I just finish my dinner. 🙂

coffee (7)

Anna trying out their Latte as it is well presented with a design of leaf, with their own signature cup.

coffee (8)

Taste wise is not very strong nor acidic. Its very mild.

coffee (9)

Single origin columbian coffee I would not say much as it falls into milder version as well.

Only upon I write this post, that most Korean coffee are pretty mild. I am not too sure all the way in Korea, keen to try out their coffee if I ever do visit that country again.

Certainly this is one great place to hang out as its always filled with alot of patrons whenever I pass by there and if you are asking me how is the coffee? Well, I can say I got plenty others to recommend.

Coffee places are not only booming in KL and it had spread their coffee fever wings till up north. Ipoh I have been one which is good yet have not blogged about it and lets head to Penang first instead since this whole week my posting is on Penang food – Lighthouse Coffee .

I have seen my cousin, sister and friends instagraming on this place and yet I have still went to try till few weeks back. Manage to gather the usual gang and it was highly recommended by them too for coffee. Before coming over to this place, we were at Twelve Cups and it was rather dissapointing which I will blog about it soon to accomodate it then quickly finish the session there and head to this place Lighthouse Coffee – Specialty Coffee & Espresso Specialist which is one street away from Twelve Cups.

Fun fact is that Lighthouse Coffee started as early as 2006, before the boom of coffee (which is now).

lighthouse (1)

Have gotten to known that this outlet had gain its popularity within months after its opening and many backpackers travelers do stop by to get a cuppa in early morning or tea time session that operating in Heritage zone would be one of their advatage. Its not a huge cafe but comfort enough to store a few of us. Alot of coffee drinkers here are quite friendly as we do share table.

lighthouse (2)

lighthouse (3)

Menu are pretty straight forward with nothing fancy except with flavoured cofffee, with bites available and some cakes.

lighthouse (4)

lighthouse (5)

Lighthouse to represent their brand.

lighthouse (6)

with sticky note board on the go for you, feel free to paste any comment, quote on the wall and its rather interesting to read all those comment on the board. Check it out yourself.

lighthouse (7)

Some of us are quite hungry and decided to order some of their food Tuna Nicoise Panini @ RM 11.90. simple yet done to perfection with wholemeal bread those to crisp and fillings in it with cheeze and tuna are blend well to accomdate the taste with home dressing to pair along.

lighthouse (8)

Bagel with Double Cheeze & Egg @ RM 10.90 gave me a suprise as I never put expectation in it. Would be a great choice for breakfast.

lighthouse (10)

The best that kept us eating is this Baby Asparagus Aglio Alio @ RM 15.90 turns out to be good. Speghetti is al dante, and flavor is mild enough to get out the taste of pepper, tomato and hint of black pepper after taste. Ended up order another plate.

lighthouse (9)

Crepes is not up to my expectation as we can easily hunts better ones out there. RM 10 if I am not mistaken.

lighthouse (11)

For coffee the rest of us had Latte, Chocolate and Ice chocolate. Not only that as we were impress with the coffee art they had drawn with flower, which is the common ones. With below .. .

lighthouse (12)

First time seeing a cafe draw a kitty. Then this mug had turn to become super star for instant moment. Among a few other coffee outlets available in the area, Lighthouse Coffee certainly the winner in terms of coffee taste and the bean they use is Arabica beans. Taste milder.

Parking around the area is quite limited and based on your luck. 🙂

Latte @ RM 9 and Chocolate @ RM 10.90
