Remark: This post is inspired by a #kopitiam series I heard over BFM – scarcity of seafood, some reality food show and some of my experience that I encountered over past years.

Who do not love seafood? Malaysia certainly being blessed with many type of food that we can enjoy, not only with one cooking method but with a few varieties from different races. Before an actual meal is cooked, it involves processes such as buying the best ingredients from wet market.

Wet market. Whom of you out there have not visited one. I remember back in those days when I was a kid, I was constantly drag by my grandma or mom to accompany them to market as part of more like a person to help them carry staff which they bought. It can be very heavy with some purchase of meat and seafood item.

During the processes, you will certainly hear the most famous phrase from most buyers or auntie after checking out the price display on the deck which will the bargaining process. Most of these housewife,auntie, grandma have great bargaining skills that they are able to bargain either from price or if there are no discounts, they would get one or two items extra.

I was also constantly taught by both my grandma and mom that everything you buy from market must look at their weight when putting it on the weighing machine to ensure you get what you are looking for.  This is natural human behavior when we were at wet market at that time as thru the environmental influence.

What about when we go to fancy restaurant? We often got carried off on a great meal that we are looking forward after long day or a great gathering with friends and families. Upon ordering, we always order on what recommendation from the restaurant manager themselves and we just placed the order happily till we forgot the processes when I was thought in market where the environmental influence kicks in.

There are certain restaurant that will show you the seafood that you have ordered along with a scale before putting into cooking and some they just came out such as one of the restaurant that me and my best friend visited, we know they charged premium and we are happily being charged by it because of the quality and services. I am sure some of you felt  ripped off on certain occasions.

For me it is such as this two occasions:

1: traveling to Johor and my friend introduce me one her favourite place. Then by looking so many people ordering crab, we have decided to order and our carelessness was did not ask for the pricing per kg before ordering. When paying for our bills, it is sky rocket and we got no choice but have to pay (which I did not blog about it).

2: Used to be one of my favourite all time place to be, till I pay a visit back to them early 2015 and since then have promise not to go back because of quality of crab and price, where we felt the amount we ordered do not justify on the amount that came out (review).

It was not until this experiment kicks in, where I hunt a few restaurants and the results got my eyebrows raised as high as the sky through this findings. I am not too sure what had happen during the process, where now I am just as curious as a 3 year old kid on this.

In here, indeed they serve fresh seafood as most of seafood are still in the thank. Not only that, their fresh oyster are indeed fresh as still alive in the thank as compare to all places, it is nicely display at the counter.

One of their signature seafood is their Brown crab. I am amaze how huge it is as its nearly double the size of my palm. I have never eaten one before and the restaurant manager mention the meet is superb!

This would be my first time eating Escargots in Malaysia as usually overseas version attracted me alot however this round give it a try with Garlic Escargots @ RM24. Serve with 6 pcs and its not bad.

Not only that, as their grilled skwers do impress me also as their seafood tofu, smoked duck breast, cencaluk chicken wings and calamari tentacles are all just awesome and goes well with my beergarita.

Their pizza is serve oval version as their pizza is pretty interesting. Dough is chewy and their dressing is pretty good though.

In their menu, there are options such as  Thai Beef Guava Salad (Thai inspired pizza of beef, guava and mango) and Hawaiian (classic of pineapple and chicken), they also have Mixed Mushrooms (fresh button, shiitake and oyster mushroom), Vegetarian (fresh button mushrooms, spinach leaves and soya ham), Lambogarlic (minced lamb and lamb sausage flooded with garlic sauce), Smoked Salmon (smoked salmon, fresh basils, walnuts and sour cream), Seafood Matriciana (a mix of baby octopus, tiger prawns and clams), Quattro Formaggi (four cheeses).

Their star of the night is their crab version from Crab Factory. In the menu, the have half of Crab Factory menu where you can see their serving style is the same. Serve in a huge bag pack with flavours for seasoning. There are a few flavours you can choose such as mustard, garlic butter, gardlic aoili, zesty lemon, signature southern bang and jamba-jamba. My personal favourite would be Southern Bang which is their signature flavour with hint of spiciness and if you want aromatic stuff which is garlic butter.

Crab meat is superbly fresh, as meat is solid and slightly chewy to my liking. Besides that, you have the options to add some sides (potatoes, chicken sausages,king mushrooms, corn, enoki mushrooms and button mushrooms).

Next super star of the night is their huge brown crab. I must say one of the best crab family meat that I have eaten so far. Love the texture, soft, meaty, firm and slightly smooth.

If you do not like seafood then another is their signature Grilled Beef Sirloin @ RM34 that is serve in medium-rare. Their sauce is fragrant with hint of herbs, mild spicy and sour at the end.

If you are a oyster lover, indeed its a item you would not want to miss as its super fresh. The meat is sweet and not too big to my liking. Recommended!

For desserts, they are serve in a jar with flavours as  Ribena Poached Pear, Rocky Road, Chunky Peanut Butter Granola and Creme Brulee @ RM 16 each.

Another unique version of their sweet menu is Grilled Montel Banana Parcel and Grilled Green Pear Parcel that topped with whipped cream. Montell Banana is superb, as its so soft with a punch of sweet banana fragrant and nearly melt.

For overall, food here is pretty good and a great place to hang out too.
