Right before Raya, I was privilege to get an invitation to attend one event with pretty well known person, Chef Amia El Shafei if you do watch Masterchef Australia in this meet and greet session. I have to thank Nuffnang for extending the invites to me that attended at Blu Med, Mid Valley.

 The event took place in one of a new restaurant, Blu Med Ristorante at The Gardens.

masterchef (4) Those of you who watch Masterchef Australia which is aired on Astro Lifetime Channel, this person certainly would not be stranger to you as after being as a contestant in Master Chef Australia, Season 4, she have huge follwers worldwide since then with her bubbly personality and leads her to win ‘Woman of the Year Award’ in Australia. masterchef (5) Born from mixblood that Dad is Egyptian and mom is from South Korea, Chef Amina learn quite a good recipe from both country. Her great culinary skills that impress by family members that had encourage her to apply in this show. masterchef (8) Well, in this event we are being thought how to cook simple meal that can be prepared just within short time frame. masterchef (9)

Tamarind, Chili and Lemongrass Prawns

To prepare this great dish, all we need to hunt is fresh tiger prawns, follow by just pan fried it.

masterchef (11) I love the taste of the prawn which is juicy and succulent with the tamarind sauce his slight sour and spicy that makes it a perfect dish to go along. Near to our Prawn sambal but this have its own kick. masterchef (16)

masterchef (13) Next dish to be cook is Pandan Cake dessert, and she randomly ask one of the crowd to assist her in scooping out the pandan cake from the Chinese tea cup. If you mix it in a right way also by spreading some oil in the cup, it should not be sticking on the cup and easy to come out with a gentle push. masterchef (14) Masterchef Australia Amina El Shafei preparing Steamed Pandan Cake with Lychee, Rambutan and Longan. A dining place would not be more romantic without flowers on the table.

As I love how they turn the whole new dining place with wooden floor and ceiling that looks like a winery, place with white table cloth and fresh flowers on the tables.

If dine in bigger group, you can be seated in this round table like knights in the round table with a light shine in the middle.

Before the dinner start, all of us were pampered by the wine supplier Albert Wines that supplies to alot of hotels and restaurant and to start off  with Italian wines from Santa Margherita – Prosecco Di Valdobbiadene a type of sparkling white wine that makes it one of the best wine I have had so far, its gassy yet taste like champaign but the taste is not that strong, mild yet aromatic and perfectly good  to pair with starter. An easy wine to drink and girls would love it.

Chef de Patroni Geovanni Ricci originally of San Benedetto del Tronto that will boost us his culinary skills in Italian dining.

Tatste  a bit spicy yet it is smooth on the end.

On that day after finishing our Bak Chang making, we head to Toh Lee Chinese Restaurant located at level 2 of Nikko Hotel to try out the Bak Chang also proceed to dinner on that night.

I just love how the way they set up the restaurant with traditional concept decorate floor with red carpet, dim orange yellow lights with chinese setting on the table.

Chef Lo is the man behind this great restaurant with his culinary skills and experience, the food and presentation is great~

‘?????? Boiled Garoupa Fillet, Poached Egg and Coriander Leaf Soup’

Is the dish that start off for the night, and seriously it was a unique soup base that I dine for the first time. The soup is clear yet flavourful. – Recommended

 One of the hidden piece fish garupa fish fillet had been boil so soft and dip it with a bit of soy sauce is simply delicious. I wish I had 2 bowls of this.

An International star Chef had landed in Kuala Lumpur recently and would be his virgin trip. A person who starts to cook at a tender age of 12 and have more than 30 years of experience in cooking show and host more than 1500 episodes in his career is here to give a live cook show. He is Chef Martin Yan who is quite well known to most of us during back in the early days as alot of people are aftering his show YanCanCook if you still do remember. He is also one of the pioneer for a Chinese to penetrate into US market in cooking shows that have now make him internationally recognise.

I have always watch cooking shows on TV but never in my dream that I was privilege to attend this exclusive event that host at GE Monogram Kollektion.

The kitchen utilities is impressive and specially set up just for the show.

A simple ingredient that prepared and ready to be used for the chef and just by this ingredient just sit back and see what the chef can surprise you with it.

and a friendly Emcee that introduce all the sponsors and the event flow of the day.

Being a local favourites, Chef Sun is his assistant for the day. During the introduction, I am very amazed and very into Chef Martin Yan with his energy and with his great sense of humour that keep making all of us to laugh. I am also impress with his passion in cooking that he is so into it that, what I think a chef must have.
With his age, and his vase experience, his culinary skills is still so impressive especially on slicing a green peper. He can just use one slice of it and slice it into many many thin slice.

Then he thought most of us how to prepare a simple dish yet easy to prepare and fast at home. While Chef Sun was cooking, I am already hungry and waiting eagerly what had the chef is cooking.

The two simple dish of the day was ‘Prawn in Salsa Sauce’ and ‘Black Cod Fish in Salsa sauce’. The taste is amazingly good. Something simple yet unique in taste and still preserve the freshness of the ingredient.

Then the chef tell about his experience and what are the do and dont’s which he keep mentioning If Chef Yan can do, you can do it too..If Chef Yan can’t do it, then you better don even think of trying.

Then proceed with the lucky draw, I just did not know why for the very first time I am quite disappointed that did not get it.

It is a marvelous event to see him how he spread his love in cooking to public that I must thank to Sidney and GE Monogram for the invites without you guys, I could not witness this great cooking show.
