When always comes to Penang food, most people would crave for it but with this famous hawker stall in Penang that now been operating in this area for quite some time where I used to eat here quite often when I was staying around here.

It has been quite some time I did not come to eat already and to my surprise they have change their image to more exlcusive to create another competitve market to Papa Rich and Old-Town.

This is their indoor area, which is now had turn to such a nice place more cozy.

They revamp on their menu look too.

Of course with such a renovation it does come down to one thing. A little price increase.

Order this ‘3 Colour Tea’ RM4.50 each. Looks good but it taste something like teh tarik. To me its a bit sweet though.
I have always crave for ‘Otak-Otak’ and this shop of course do offer it here, it would not be the best I have had with its taste of a bit spicy and soft slice of fish in the middle, its not bad to kill my crave’ness but on that day I prefer it to be warmer.. RM5
This is slice of fish in the middle.
Of course here comes the signature of the shop ‘Penang Curry Mee’ with its very clear white base soup that taste sweet and pale in colour that filled with some shrimps, lala, cuttlefish and tau pok but I always like it to be………
add on their homemade chili special for curry mee.
I have added 2 spoonfull till the soup base become fiery red. It is just the look not spicy as what it meant to be. To me, curry mee will not be perfect if without the ‘huek’. The reason that they do not have it now is because this shop is HALAL now. RM6.50
They of course do increase the standard of the shop look but on the other side their quality drop which not as good as it used to be. Still not bad for local KL but if compare to Penang..its alot.

Previously when I went to Wai Sek Kai, this stall didnt open. It is 1 of my favourite stall. So decided to go there again last week to salivate the ……….

Orrr Kuih‘ which is soft and the yam taste of it is there. Will be very nice to mix with the chili sauce and sweet sauce ‘Tim Cheong‘.

This is the curry pig skin which is one of the famous food in this stall.
Here comes my food. ‘Curry Chee Cheong Fun with Pig Skin’ . The taste of the curry is mild and a bit sweet which goes along very well with the chee cheong fun and the pig skin just cook well to its softness. I drink till to the last drop of it. RM2.80

This is what I mean theOrrr Kuih‘ or ‘Yam Cake’ if I am right. One of my favourite. RM 1.20 for this.
Of course to close my meal with a very nice kuih which is just next to the stall.
Didnt try before the Yau Char Kuai before so no idea. Judge by the look of the goreng’ness I think should be good. 🙂

This is the stall that next to it sell the kuih.
This is my favourite of all in this stall. Like it to the max. The coconut inside it is just sweet to perfection which had been mix with brown sugar and the skin of it is just delicate and the coconut is just to mix with it very good ah… RM0.70
For the food its cheap I find it very reasonable cheap and nice, as other food review please click here

I have always been a big fan of curry noodle, especially the one in Penang. Then my friends know that I love it so they tag me along to this restaurant. They were saying how good it was but it caught me by surprise that when I reach the shop it was empty and was around 3pm. As far as I know, always a famous shop no matter what time there are still ppl dine in but maybe we were like VIP’s that is why during the weekend around that time we were the only customer they have.
When I saw the menu, I got shock myself to see on the pricing. Then my friend told me its worth it 1. Then I proceed to order Curry Mee and my friend cancel my order and order for me Tomyam mix with Curry. I was like harrr…can eat boh? later eat then lau sai how? Then she said, eat first then only tell me. hmmm..so confident on it so just go along lah~

The first bowl came was the Tomyam Seafood Noodle’ I was like hmmm…not bad not bad..so many seafood in there. The taste of tomyam is good, it is thick and fill with the seafood sweet taste that had been cook for 3 hours. The soup colour is so red that you will thought it is damm spicy but it is not. Just nice, not too spicy but perfectly just nice.

Then here comes my order ‘Seafood Mee mix with Curry and Tomyam Soup‘. I must say that, this taste much better compare to the original Tomyam Flavour. The mixture of the soup had made the taste sweeter and can taste the mix of the curry and tomyam. No wonder my friend she is so confident that I will like it. Definitely a good recommendation.

By conquering the 2 n half of the main signature, here comes the last order ‘Seafood Noodle Soup’. For those people who do not like spicy food, this is truly a highly recommeded meal to introduce. The clear soup is rich with the taste of the seafood, the soup base is sweet with you can taste the taste of the prawn, clams by just only the soup.
Although for the first time I saw the price, my eyes pop out but after finish eating, I was satisfied and with the price it is reasonable with the whole bowl filled with squids, clams, mussels, fish slices and prawns. Would return to dine again~ The price rangers from RM15-RM17

Was walking around for the night quite long, so it was me who made the call saying that kia liau…go food hunting. As I remembered last time when I came to this area, there is 1 takoyaki very very nice and the queue is very long.

First stoop of the night, Nelson Street.

As I spotted this stall, directly drag the whole group to this stall as I smelled Smelly Toufu. When I reached this stall I was so excited like a 3 year old kid saw a ice cream guy, and get to see so many things to eat. When I spotted this stall that time I cant really see what were they selling as this stall that time it was full with food patrons. The street with that number is only this shop is here where you can see the shop is flooded with ppl.
Our very first stop of this shop………………
Of course the no.1 thing that MUST not MISSSSSS….. The ‘Curry Fish Ball’ The upper deck is non spicy and the 1 below is Spicy. After taking this picture I got scolded by the store owner saying that not allow to take pictures. Then I was like wtf!!!

This is a small bowl of curry fish ball which cost HKD 8.

Of course cannot compare to the 1 I ate at Sri Petaling Pasar Malam Curry Fish Ball. The fragrance of the currry is there and the softness of the fish ball its like you use a knife to slice it when I am biting it. I ordered the spicy as it was really spicy. One ball enough to stir you high. Definitely good stuff.

Wahhhhh….this is one of the best thing to get in this stall also, by looking at it and remembering the taste just makes me drool again. It is ‘Fried Pig Intestine. The skin is crispy with gold brown colour and the filling is chewy and of course got a lil stink smell and taste just makes it perfect. For those who eat pig spare parts, of course this is verrryy Highly Recommended by me. One stick is around HKD9

Next is my bestie bought Siew Mai’. The great thing is not about the sauce of it. The sweet sauce mix with it that stir up the taste. Comparing with the siew mai in malaysia, still think it taste better from the street food. It is small in size, with the stim taste and soft. Just alright.

This must not be miss also, one of the Hong Kong street food signature. Of course one of in my hotlist food hunt which is the ‘Smelly Toufu. To the dissapointment, the smell of the smelly toufu is not as strong as last time which you can smell it 2 blocks away. This I get to know they serve the toufu when I walked nearby the stall.
The toufu is not as smelly as I ate last time, but of course it is much better compare to Sri Petalling because of the smell and of course the SAUCE!!! The sauce you have to mix it with, sweet sauce, their very own chili sauce and chili flakes with some ginger. Wow, even though the toufu is not really smelly compare to last time but with the mixture of the sauce, can just put the whole thing in my mouth and enjoying it.
After finishing it, when I try to talk to Yeong my bestie, she said she cant really smell the smelliness of the smell when I was talking. The amazing thing was last time me and my bro ate on the street and went back up on the bus, the old lady ask me and my bro did we eat smelly toufu, and we asked her how she know, then she said that we stinks.. 😀
2 pieces of toufu around HKD 9.
Most of the things in this stall is very nice. Should Try!

Walk and walk and walk then came till this street. From what I eat just now, I am still hungry and my friend ask me am I alright. I said of course, part of my mission here is food hunting. Eat lah~ The stall is located behind this street board.

This is the next shop I came across as I was very thirsty and saw this shop got sell bubble cup tea. Of course it has always been my favorite and by looking so many ppl at this stall and give it a try. I drink the ‘Bubble Cup Tea’ till I forgot to take the pic. The drink definitely is a highly recommended which most of the patrons are aiming for it.

As I bought the drink first and let the rest try ended up every 1 having 1 cup. The pearl is so chewy, the drink in it is just the right taste. Not too sweet not too diluted. The drink was around HKD 12

The food that they sell is similar to the first stall that we eat. Again I was trying to take the pic, got scolded by this stall owner. Then I was like why in their shop they directly put a sign no pictures please!

This is one of the ‘Mix Ball’ that I found it quite funny and just bought one. Start from the top ‘Beef Ball’, ‘Pork Ball’, ‘Fish Ball’ and ‘Squid Ball’ which cost around HKD 10 for this stick.

Honestly, I find the taste is abit weird as they put some satay sauce and don know what sauce and the taste of the ball ball thing doesn’t impress but still finish the whole stick.

Food rating 5/10 ,Ok Ok loo~
Then went back to grab another cup of Bubble cup tea as I only manage to have 2-3 sips and my friend gave me empty glass back.

This round I went there realize that they sell ‘Siew Mai’ and decided to grab one again to compare what is the difference with another stall.

After eating eat, my only comment must try! Again the sauce is impressive and very nice. It was mix with sweet sauce, peanut sauce, some chili oil and chili sauce. After you mix with the siew mai and the taste had combine out it had become very addictive. As my friend saw I ate till like that, they grab another cup and just eat till they drop. Around HKD 8

This shop is just a few doors away, it sells takoyaki. At last found one which I think is good.
The store outlook is alright and not many people but my friend she was very tired so borrow their tables and we have to buy their food.
They have large stove to be done compare to places like our pasar malam or indoor supermarket which only owned 1/3 of it.
This is what I mean borrow their tables by purchasing the food from next door and eats there because that stall does not have tables. So we were parking there for that moment.
I order the ‘Original Takoyaki cuz I don understand what the girl is mumbling about and I don know how to read chinese so just point lah…and this is wat I get. Which cost me around HKD 25.
By the look itself I was not impress and the first bite that I eat, does not really taste good. Then asked my friend what bout theirs, they shake their head. The filling is does not taste good even we feel that our pasar malam here is much better.

Pasar malam used to be one of my favourite past time during college day’s and was looking for my friend at Sri Petaling so I asked him go where makan he suggest pasar malam. Stim~~~~
Thinking back in college days, me and my housemate will each take out RM15 then one person will carry the cash all night long. What ever we come across in that stall, just buy only 1 and share by the 3 of us. It is like I 1 mouth, you 1 mouth and the other guy 1 mouth. Our culture is as we walk we eat and see. Lol. Those were the days~~
As I walked around, then find this stall like got raided by lots of people.‘Curry Fish Ball’ But I manage to open my leg kang kang and ask them all go away…let me take my pic..lol!! Just so coincidence when I reached it was only us. So manage to take pic of the stall and it is very cheap!~!~!~
RM 1 per stick! Sial betul. If compare to the one I ate in HK of course its like heaven and earth.

This is what the ah pek explained to me. ‘Boy, you want very spicy or non spicy’ (feel happy, call me boi)From left to right, [Very Spicy], [Tomyam], [Spicy] and [Non Spicy-Black Pepper]

I only grab 2 cuz my friend don want. Celaka!!!! So I grab the very spicy which is I found it not as spicy as he mention, and black pepper totally not my type.

Then came by this stall, ‘Char Koey Teow and seems like having very good business, so early yet the tables are all occupied and he was so busy goreng’ing so try loh~ The uncle also like to take pic, got distracted when I was taking him goreng’ing.
Now is is paying full attention on it as I was making sure he cooked mine properly.
When it got served I was abit shocked as I got charged RM4 and keep looking where is my prawn. Then the uncle told me that if I want prawn need to inform them. I was like ‘huhhhh‘!! Feel that it is kinda pricey with all the si ham they give me and I don really eat Si Ham…aiii…..
The food was well friend. Not bad. Just that if he fried the koay teow dry abit would be perfect.

Ahhh ha…this is one of my very favourite stall for ‘Tong Sui’. Forgot to take the pic of the stall cuz it was taken by my friend as he wanted to play with my camera. I thought he did take the whole thing but turns out to be the sign board only. aiii..I forgot to check.
Then there is one guy that asking how is the business from the auntie as the young guy also planing to open a desert shop. The advice from the aunt was go tour around in Taiwan then you try what ever food you are interested then collaborate with them. The funny thing was, ‘Aiyooo, I tell you, if you open this kind of stall in a mall, bankrupt also got your share loh. Like this 1 better, can travel around and more ppl keen on it. Mall high class ppl where can enjoy.’ Lol
Located directly opposite The Store supermarket.
This is my all time favourite which is Taufufa with Tong Yuen 2 pieces of black sesame and 2 with peanuts. RM 3.50.
Then comes to this super geng stall, which is from far far far far far…you can smell the smell of it already. Which is ‘Smelly Taufu The same, got rape by a group of people in buying the smelly taufu. My friend is the last person in the line in green t-shirt. My best friend Chris. I was amaze on how good the business was as the person in front of me bought 75 pieces. I was thinking, ‘Wah lau, this guy having pesta smelly taufu ka‘….
I am only a small eater so I just bought 4 for RM2.40.
Food rating 10/10 , Good Ah~ -Stamped-
Located opposite The store supermarket. just directly opposite each other of the Hong Kong Sago Loh.
As said on the sign board. ‘Aroma Across a thousand Miles’

It sure do look plain, but then the best part is, it is as smelly as the pasar tong sampah, It is either you like it or you hate it. Durian style. Of course the best part is you eat, then you try to have a passionate or wild kiss with your bf/gf..sure very high~..hahaha.. This is what I have down to my smelly taufu. Hantam everything in there on what they have given to me.

Enjoying my taufu. Damm, it is just so hot. But than again, cannot compare to the 1 I ate in Hong Kong. The aroma is stronger and taste much nicer as it put with ‘sweet sauce and their custom made chili sauce. For Malaysian version its consider not bad.

Food rating 8/10 , Good Ah~ -Stamped-

Then I ate half way, suddenly this uncle caught my attention, where he come from la, from INDIA? can just put the whole stack of newspaper on top of his head without falling down like those ppl in India putting what ever they can put on their head.

It was a satisfactory meal with some walk and walk. Just that, celaka Chris did not eat along.
