I used to stay in Taman Paramount when I first came down to KL which is at my aunts place, I constantly dine at those 2 coffee shop for its cheap food and economy rice and I totally never knew there is one hidden Char Siew stall right behind at it which never mention by my aunt also. Ah Khai famous Char Siew Chicken Rice was not until one of my colleague went to ‘ta pau’ char siew for boss and client to eat for lunch, then she let us try out the char siew and its heavenly good. From there, we were talking about it how good it was and must go to the stall to eat.

**UPDATE: Ah Khai Char Siew NO LONGER OPERATE at SIMONS Delight as now had move a few shops up to RESTAURANT MEI YAN. . . .starting May 2011

It was not until last week, we decided to hunt it down for this marvelous ‘Char Siew’ that located in Section 17 hidden inside Restaurant Simon’s Delights. We manage to reach there early as the time of operating business is from 11am-1pm. . . I just cannot imagine people doing business for just 3 hours a day. It must have been brisk business.

ah kai (2)

Seeing those ‘Char Siew’ hanging there is like waving at us to order it desperately making us place our order we a portion of char siew for 3 pax a plate for 3 plates.

ah kai (3)

One of the funny thing that I ask the owner, ‘Are you Local’ cuz while I was eating there and I kept figuring, is he local or not to do such a great char siew. . and his answer Yes… I am local just that I am not as white ask you guys that work in the office, since young I got burn infront of the stove by helping parents out that’s how I turn dark or ah bu neh neh. . . I can say, a very friendly guy that talk a lot of nonsense.

ah kai (5)

‘Roast Chicken’ is quite normal, nothing much to brag about. . .

ah kai (4)

The first place of ‘Char Siew is mix with Roast Pork’ that actually we wanted to try it out too, suprisingly it turn out to be good too, with the skin roasted well till it is crispy yet do not broke our teeth, with perfect thin layer of fats in between the lean meat and dip with the chili sauce is just perfect.

After I took picture of it, this plate of combo was gone in seconds . .  till all 3 plates that got serve just gone. .  We order another round of purely char siew only.

ah kai (6)

Pure ‘Char Siew’ was one of the best char siew I have ever come accross, with it well roast char siew till it was well quoted by caramelised with the burn end layer. . You can either chose 70% fats and 30% meat as we go ahead with equal fats and meat that spread out very well, till the bite in our mouth it melts as the meat is so soft and tender till it break into slices and the fats melts along with it. . . Every piece of it, is burst with flavor and that is how we ended up ordering another two more plates purely on char siew. If you love fats like my friend, go for the heavy weight more fats less meat..you will definately enjoy it!

At the end of the meal, the coffee shop were sardin pack with people ordering char siew and tapau, we even order a few take away back to office for tea time. Surely I am going back for more, we consider it quite cheap, with so many order and it is not more than RM10. Worth Recommending this place if you are a char siew lover~

Do go early to avoid dissapointment . . .

A recommended Char Siew place~

Last trip a few of my best friend came down to KL for holiday. Then I was introduce to another fish head bee hoon shop in Kuchai Lama area. I did not know that, there is actually another shop too in the very same area, Win Soon Fish Head Noodle .

Win soon (1)

It was dinner time and the place was quite pack. Manage to grab a just only table to accommodate for all of us.

Win soon (2)

Latest menu as per my visit [March 2016]

In the menu, it is not much different compare to other shops that I have eaten so far.

Win soon (5)

As usual, I would order ‘Fish Paste and Fish Head Mee Hoon RM7.50. The soup base is not as strong as the other 2 stalls that I have went but still its not bad a taste of its own.

Win soon (6)

Then Tatt order ‘Fried Fish Head’ (Big) RM12.80. Its good. Crispy on the outer layer of the fish and the fish meat is soft yet the a bit salty gives the taste of it. All of us just hantam it.

Overall, I still like Kafe 2369 Fish Head Noodle cuz of the soup base aroma is strong enough.

update march 2016 : their quality had drop and no longer as good as it used to be.

It was already quite late, and my friend came find met yet I was quite full that time. Then I kena drag out and eat around 12.30 am, then she brought me to this area to makan which is I am kinda surprise that, I always thought of the porridge always open on the opposite but never knew that, there is actually a Chicken Rice Shop, Restaurant Fei Por opened till quite late.

Now, manage to find a place to makan after drinking session.

RM22 (16)

RM22

Then I requested to seat in front cuz can see how the way he potong the chicken and a bright spot too for easy for picture taking.

RM22 (7)

The chili and garlic I find it quite nice.

RM22 (4)

Start off with white porridege which is a bit tateless but if you add on with garlic sesame oil it would be perfect as it is a bit in taste has the same structure as porridge.

RM22 (8)

Then comes the ‘Char Siew’ with the oily shinning gravy been shower upon, it surely ooks very good. A type which i prefer 7-% meats and 30% fats just that if the edge of the crust not that burn, it would taste good.

RM22 (11)

It looks juicy and tender but there is nothing to boast about except the crust of it.

RM22 (15)

I am not a big fan of chicken lover but my friend she mention she want to eat it, so order loh as for me, I can take only one piece cuz I find it a bit geli. The chicken meat is a bit overcook which make it a bit solid yet the soy sauce gravy pour to enhance the taste..

Total that we paid was around RM22 which I find it quite reasonable.. The best part is you went during you were sober or a bit drunk, this place is totally not recommended as the will take a big blade potong you kau kauz.!!!

I have been always told by my friend saying that if go to Hong Kong must try out the MacD. Cuz got PORK! So the lunch we grab MacD nearby my hotel there. The best thing about their MacD also they got their very own Mac Cafe. Which is I can see that selected outlets and the one that I went heard my friend said that the coffee there is better than StarBucks.
This is the ‘Pork McMuffin. Which is the only pork thing that they have as another 1 is ‘Double Ham Burger’ out of stock..ISHH!!! The other looks more tempting and delicious. So No choice have to grab this. To me actually it is not much different compare to the daily MacD breakfast that we are eating everyday. Nothing special to comment about it. The medium set is HKD 28

But this my order.Quater Pounder. Medium Set HKD30. I think that Malaysia version is nicer and taste better especially the beef pattie. The grilling process not as juicy and cheezy as what I had. But their concept of the burger is for healthy purpose. When you eat it at least you wont feel guilty..haha

I am totally impress by the taste of ‘Grilled Chicken Burger’. It is like when we eat Ramlee burger chicken but this is the Chinese version of Ramleee burger I would rate. Taste very good. The chicken breast meat is soft and grill to perfection, the sauce that mix in it taste very good. I would say that it is a item worth trying.

Find that their box is nice~ Even though do not know what are they writing on the box besides the Grilled Chicken Burger.

The ‘Grilled Chicken Burger’

I found out that the website of MacD Hong Kong version is very nicely done.Worth to check it out~

For the first time I have to skip my posting that I MUST post this up first. Was very impress with the restaurant, and also the people from Egypt.

I got very very surprise that in Sri Petaling, there is actually 1 nice Arab restaurant here. Well, if you are nearby here, surely this shop will caught your attention as can consider one of the most good looking shop here during at night. Have to come here is because of company VIP client from Egypt that requested want to dine Arab food. So this is where my ah tau have arrange.

What I mean handsome of course by its outlook more yeng than any of the shops beside la..

When you walk in you will saw this miniature camel on the bottom left then house on top of it and also house next to the top right and of course the antique or signature look of Arab dining accessories.

There is 2 ways you can go up to the restaurant. 1. would be the Lift. 2.Exercise-climbing up the stairs. So I decided to do option 2 cuz I was impress by their own interior decoration full with wall painting, vase, tea pot like the Ali Baba style.. What I could not find is the Gennie in the bottle look thing. Sure I do would like to have my 3 wishes and were walking up you already got 50% of Arab feeling.

When I reached the restaurant I was like wowwww…in my heart. What a nice place that they had change the whole shop to be. All the walls full with different kind of utensils, kitchenware and others.

Alot of collection around the area whereby you can just walk around and look if there is not customer on their respective table. When I arrive I am still able to do that.

It was quite empty during that day, but as it is getting late the crowd start to pour in but most of the customer are from Middle East. The ambiance is surely good.

I don know what is this called but just took a pic as it was just right beside me.

Then of course all of the dining table is full with this tea pot. It is something very unique and to pour the water you have to push the top tip down in order to be able to let the water flow out. Something like a gun, you have to lift up the pin in order to shoot. Was wondering am I able to bring that pot back.

This is the menu which suits with the restaurant ambiances.

Looking at the menu, I look at the pictures to judge what food I want to eat for the night. It seems like everything is yummy and the choices is alot.

So we start off the night with our drinks which is from top left to right

Aden Tea
: taste more like teh halia. Nothing special. so RM10 for this.
Mix Fruit : Did not taste cuz was ordered by the Egyptians RM10
Ice Lemon Tea: uniquely from left is the sugar syrup, then next is the lemonade juice and only reach the pot of Ice Tea. It is for you to mix and match your own style of the taste. Be a mini table bar tender for the night. RM 10 for this.
Carrot Juice: is normal carrot juice. Nothing special RM10

There are another 4 more drinks that they ordered which is more unique that they recommend but I cant just go there and took all the pic because it was company VIP client. So just can took what is around me.

When I first stare at this it looks more like a bun to me but it is what they said high premium bread which I think its Pita Bread, compare to what they had in their home country. We were taught how to eat this with the rest of the entree on the table.

The first lesson of the night was to peal the pita bread then make it like a V shape in order for us to dip into the entree and hook some of the sauce up with the ingredient so that you can get to taste more of it.

Instead of what I always do is peel, then just deep and hantam the rest of it like a hungry person.

So end up all our meals were ordered by the Egyptian as they recommend what is good and famous back in their home country. So we just follow the flow for the night.

Start the first entree for the night. At first glance, I thought it was a tuna spread but turns out to be a Baba Ghanough its a mixture of don know what in there but it taste real good when you eat it with the bun you would want a second piece. RM12

ahhh…haaa..This really looks like yogurt. It is some kind of cream which I do not know what it is just eat accordingly. It is also to eat along with the bread. Tahina Sauce’ RM5

All time not my favourite ‘Pickled Vegetable’ RM5 each. I have try my best on tasting it but still yucks!

‘Lentil Soup’ RM 8 Do not have a chance to try this as it was one of the client who ordered it.Haih

This is what I called the Arab Karipop.. It is actually Sambosa Lamb’ RM10
This is what it looks like on the inside, were very nicely chopped into very mini pieces and while you eat it, you can just taste the lamb taste very nice and perfect with the Tahina sauce given. Due to limited pieces I could not have 2.

To me this is more like a mixture of self mix of everything. It is a bit cold but the taste a bit spicy, sour and mild good to eat with rice as side dish or with pita bread. Taste someting like we used to eat when we took nasi Briyani but of course taste much better.

‘Mixed Vege Chicken Tagen. A very unique pot they have come along with it but the best thing is after so many donkey years that I left high school science lab and at last I get to see it again a ‘Pununu Buncen‘ was there burning to make sure that the dish is kept warm and abit boiling.

It taste more like a Minestrone Soup. Just that the taste in it not as strong as that. It is mild. The texture of the soup is not too thick and too watery. Eat perfectly good with pita bread or with the Al-Diafah rice. I was enjoying my dish with both ways and also recommend my friend to try it. RM15

The other dish which I did not manage to snap the pic but the client want us to try is the ‘Fried Lamb Meat,Liver and Kidney’ which once I had a mouth of it, I wanted to ask for more. The Highly Recommend by me. RM35

The other one would be ‘Potato Chicken Tagen. The chicken was well cook to softness and not very spicy but taste very mild. Perfect to eat with the rice for a good dish opener. RM15

‘Mixed Grill’ was highly recommended by the client, mentioning we should not miss this. So my friend she ordered this with a mixture of Lamb,Chicken and Beef(if not mistaken). Although it is a bit too dry for the lamb but the aroma is there. If were abit juicy, wow, it just taste perfect. The chicken is tenduri chicken, so nothing much to comment on that as it taste normal and lastly it was a roll of beef which taste so soft and tender, taste like specially marinated. The best of all compare to the other 2. RM35

Madby Lamb’ which is also highly recommend by the client. Which I totally agree with him. Although it is not very big place and the lamb is only 4 pieces which honestly cant really even fill my stomach if there were no pita bread entree.

The lamb was well marinated, and the taste of the lamb smell is not strong which some people don like and I prefer the taste or smell is stronger. The meat was grilled to perfection, juicy and soft which again were thought to use hand instead of cutleries. Finish my dish and I was hunting for more, look at my friend’s dish see whether I can try to taste her portion. RM35

‘Grilled Prawn’ RM45 Never had a chance to try this but it sure do look very good and taste nice as the feedback came over that the prawn is very fresh.

‘BBQ Chicken-AL Diafah Rice’ The chicken taste normal, nothing much to comment. To me it is more like a tendori chicken. RM20

‘AL Diafah Rice’ The rice is very very nice. The taste of it and the aroma when you eat it with the main dish or the entree you eat. It goes along very well. Was not too dry or oily. RM7

‘Ping Pong’ By the name itself it sure do sounds very funny. The 2 desert was highly recommend by the client saying that we must try and insist we must. I always thought that their desert would be very sweet but then turns out to be not. But to me after heavy eating I feel that I cant really taste this desert, taste more like the stall at Pavilion selling yau char kuai with the ball ball thing. Taste not much different. RM6

When I saw this, I was very happy, I thought it was Cinamon stick. Turns out to be not. It is someting soft soft do not really know how to describe. It isTamaribnd’ RM6

While we were eating the client was telling us about some culture exchange of what they have and adopt in Egypt that I want to post it as another part as I find it very interesting. Part 2, coming soon.

I must seriously say that Egyptions, they are a good food eater. They just eat and eat alot. After all the food on the table, they went off to another table to enjoy themself with a cup of tea and desert.

Because of their very good service, and ambience and the food quality not the very best, they deserve it which I also think that their pricing is okay. Total bill came out to RM415

Genre: Comedy, Romance

As my friends around me was talking about this show. Some critics it some say it is good. For me I would say not so good cuz not as what I have expected. Can see fashion on how they are wearing it. The colour that they wear in the show totally like clash colour. Green scarf with her outfit during her interview. No Ngam~ Not much exploring of fashion but story line more onto romance.

Romance part I totally agree on it alot especially on 1 part that makes me think that how come guys are like that. When found out that the girl was having bad debt and the collector go after her during her live interview session on the tv show, the guy just go off without finding proper answer and just said that she lied. In the story we know in the beginning how the girl end up but in the end actual fact in real relationship how much do we know about our the other half(for bf of gf)? As the other person some times is in dilemma as don know should say or should not say. But when found out it feels like got betrayed yet feel uneasy. In the end the guy manage to find out what had actually happened and got back together. This part had a hit on me makes me think back my past. As I always believe there are rooms of improvement for us as always in my quote

‘Human were never perfect but rooms to improve’

Overall I still like the show The Devils Wear Prada.A good show.
