I often fancy for nice cakes, or in another word I am a dessert lover. Few years ago, I got expose to this brand as they operate in other states, then my sister found out that there is a home baker in Penang that sell very nice mille crepe as they started out providing by online ordering of freshly hand-made and hand-layered mille crepes.. Since it was my dad’s birthday, and decided to place an order. Since then it had become our yearly order for any of my family member birthday celebration.

There are another 2 more outlets are well known to many people in KL, one which is Food Foundry that located in Section 17 and latest addition is Nadeje from Melaka that spread its wings to KL.

Good news is that now they have spread their wings to F&B outlet as we no longer need to order the whole cake to enjoy the flavor of it and now we can just pop by to one of their latest outlet in Penang which is located in Straits Quay, that is in front of Papa Rich.

When I told my friend lets head here for dessert, they instantly agree as we do not know what to do for the next 2 hours. So camp here and kill some time.

 then try out one of a unique flavour, blueberry peanut mille crepe. Peanut lover would love this as the taste of peanut is slightly strong yet did not overpower the taste of blueberry and vanilla taste of it. @ RM 9.90

Over a few Mille Crepe I have tasted so far, I prefer Humble Beginning more as the taste is less sweet, not too condense and most of the layer crepe or well balance and moist. This is one of my favourite mille crepe shop. Recommended~

Well, now they just open their latest outlet in Bangsar as you can head there to try it out.. .

Straits Quay in Penang had turn to one of the latest attractions to many FnB outlets to be opened in this area as it is considered one of the first in Malaysia to have a shopping mall at the sea front that make it one of the hottest place for dining at the moment.

With another one to add in is Delicious is the latest addition to the area and had attracted alot of Penangnites to hang out in this restaurant which is definately is no stranger to people in KL.

One thing that KL outlets do not have is outdoor area with sea front view that you can sit and chill outside here at night, sometimes with sea breeze blow till you have to hold on your hair. . :p

One thing of course you would not want to miss when you come to Delicious is this fridge, that host many types of cakes and delicious is also famous for its deserts.

On Sunday afternoon, its super pack with families to come here for lunch and just do bare in mind that, please do your reservation to avoid any dissapointment or long queue.

I always love the ‘Speghetti Carbonara’ in Delicious, which cook til quite creamy and a bit thick in sauce yet with some soupy base which is how I like it. RM23.90

Then my mom order this ‘Chicken Leek Pie’ @ RM 20.90.

For a pie in this size to stuff all the ingredients in there, I would say its good, puffy crispy outside on the crust, moist inside and best to eat along with the gravvy. –reccommended to order~

My dad order this ‘Duck Confit’ which is the worst of all, solid meat, a bit tasteless and its super small in size that cost RM32.90.

Just to be on the safe side of the food, just order what is the usual in the menu, do not be adventurous at this moment.

Overall I would say, KL branches taste much better than Penang Branch have alot to improve especially in terms of services and management of seatings. Numurous of complains by my friends and I would just say, give them 3 more months.. which is lack of floor staff to handle such crowd.

and best of all is do be aware that, they have this section called Desert Section ONLy where you are able to order desert n eat if you do feel you want to order some mains to get along, they have to shift you.. which is just nonsence. I guess they are limiting their earnings in this restaurant.

Besides that now, Straits Quay also have weekend market now which is quite huge with 2 types of market available on last weekend of the month .. Have fun

When comes to durian season, most of my friends and me will go hunt for it, especially those in Penang. KL durians are not bad but I still find Penang durians taste way much nicer with its texture and taste of it. So last weekend when I was back to Penang, I purposely told my dad I wanted to go again to the durian farm when I was a kid to go there eat it fresh then he help me arrange. This is the durian farm I eat yearly when I was a kid till now.

[Update: the farm had sold off since 2017]

Just to let you guys know that Penang Durians life is very short usually is only bout 6 – 8 weeks only and last weekend was already end of the season.

This is the no name durian farm and as the owner is ah Hai, I would name it ah Hai Durian farm that located bout 45 minutes drive from Georgetown head towards air port then travel the route head towards Balik Pulau. Once you pass Teluk Kumbar is just about 5 minutes drive from there which is half way from the before reaching the top right at the curve corner with this small wooden atap area.

as daily he have 2 fresh shipment of durians directly from the farm, and if you wish to go hunt for your own durians, you can just tell him and if he allows you to walk in then you can just go, which is just directly behind this shaded area. All of us are waiting for fresh durian deliveries that my dad had ordered

I do not know what type is what type as ah Hai have his own special mix breed of durians and alot of types to choose from. D10, D11, D12, Red Prawn, Xo, and more.. .

and of course Immai and her bf from KL and I stuff them with lots of durians till they surrender.

This durian season, was the best of it as I seriously eat alot compare to the past few years, and thru this farm, I always gain my satisfaction on durians after eating it .. *burrrp . .

If you ask me about exact location, I seriously do not know how to tell you as now there are new highway cutting thru this place, next year by following the highway, we have to make a certain U-turn to head to this place.

Total damage: cannot reveal cuz we have special price 😀

Next year I will be planing a 2 special durian trip  . . .Stay tunned. . .

When comes to the word ‘Pork’ a lot of my friend would say, please please, take me to where is the best pork that they can hunt. Then one of the place that I have heard so much which is the best, legendary, caramelize, one of the recommended is this shop that located at off Jalan Pudu, behind Shaw Parade which is known as Wong Kee Roast Pork (siew yuk).

Then my friend told me that, this owner is actually a ‘Datuk title’ or a place mostly you can see political people dine in this shop and do bare in mind do not piss him off, that being a Hainanese their mood sure do swings alot ..  and me being hainanese I don really understand the terms but seems mostly older generation they do have that serious mood swings including my dad. Well, cannot denied that he really do good roast pork . .

This is one hell plate of a roast pork that most of my friend crave for that they are only here for the ROAST PORK, with its SUPER crispy skin, perfectly well balance fats and lean meat in between, once put into our mouth, I just love the strong aroma of the well roasted crispy skin saltiness, and the fats just melts in mouth.

To enjoy this savory roast pork, it comes to a hefty price, that our bills comes to RM50 with this 3 plate of roast pork and 3 plate of rice. Seriously NOT CHEAP! Still, it attracts many people for near and far especially my boss.

Genre: Action/ Horror/ Sci-fi

Priest is on war with vampire on those days called the Vampire War, and one of the priest got left behind during the war and was stuck in a nest then transform into a human vampire. Kidnap one of the priest niece, the one of the best priest disobey the Church order as they said vampire already extict from their previous war, and he went to search for himself.

I didn’t expect the movie to be good, but turns out to be a movie worth watching. Just lower down your expectation . .

I used to come to QE2 to hang out with my friends for many occasion and pass by this restaurant many times . .  Never did I know that, my last visit back to Penang, my dad brought me to Hai Nan Town for lunch, that I just got to know is one of his favourite restaurant, partly because they served Hainanese cuisine.

Hai Nan Town Restaurant is situated next to Penang Jetty which can be easily located as it can be consider a building by itself and also a famous spot for alot photographer to do photoshoot here.

If you come at night, you will enjoy a the wonderfull scenery facing the jetty with sea breeze.

Usually I definately prefer my Lohbak to be in Pork Version especially when I am in Penang, then Chicken Lorbak in here is pretty good too, by using strips of chicken that cook along with ‘ngor hiang’ with skin fried till crips.   RM 10.50

Otak – Otak was normal as I have eaten better ones @ RM 3

Kacang Botol fried with samble and pranws is a dish to consider to order, fried evenly and its crips each of it. .  RM 12

Hainanese Lamb is my dad’s favourite, because it was cook quite soupy and the lamb lamb taste is very mild that suits my sister also, lamb was cook till very soft n the soup was aromatic with the lamb taste, to me it would taste a bit more nice if the lamb taste is abit stronger @ RM 22

Yam Duck base is a bit milky which filled with yam taste which is another good dish to consider @ RM 24

Curry Fish , quite sour in the curry n spicy which is just nice, fish was fresh as the meat is soft @ RM 66

My family enjoy the meal here. . . and ambiance is nice especially for family meal  and this restaurant is a Halal Restaurant. . .
