Finally, after so many miss out of their previous 3 Where’s the party event and I manage to go on their secret party place this round. As usual, we werent inform where will be the secret place be and all we have to do is follow on their mailer pack, prepare what is given in the details 2 days before the event, head to their assign destination then hop onto their bus without knowing where we are heading. What is actually Carlsberg Where’s the Party about 2012? Its action packed with a marathon of games, assembly of international music maestro’s and ice cold Carlsberg beer, and the event was a rally of energetic vibes from beginning to end.

The distinct party series offers young party-goers the ultimate party experience. The mystery event hones in on consumers’ natural fascination with the unknown and challenges the curiosity of those who are bold enough to step out of their comfort zone for greater excitement and rewards.

HEineken Thrist is making its wave in Malaysia shores when I attended my very first Thirst at year 2010 for Godskitchen Boombox with Tiesto spinning the deck and blast all my friends off. Since that event I am thirst for more, unfortunately last year I was unable to attend that clash with something important and look at the massive crowd . . . .

For this round, there will be 2 area one with Main Stage and Star Arena that will have different DJ spinning Along. Sepang would be the chosen location again with its huge massive space that able to cater this huge massive party goers.

Of course, Heineken’s continuously evolving roll call of creative and collaborative talent doesn’t end with the music. This year our search for new visual representations of the ideals of Heineken Thirst has led us to comb the globe for some of the most innovative interpretations of the progressive values of Malaysia’s leading electronic music festival.

What can you expect this year on site is that, Heineken Thirst will feature some of the latest advances in creative technologies, digital landscaping and interactive collaborative installation pieces. Towering above the futuristic design universe of Heineken Thirst will be one of the most iconic international pieces of public and festival art of recent years. Already a favourite at festivals across the United States, the 50 foot high Wish makes its Asia debut at Heineken Thirst. Designed by San Francisco public art conceptualists Robert James, Wish consists of ‘three contemporary dandelions that are losing their seeds in the wind’.

This year I have to admit that mooncakes mood set in really early as I did received a mooncake list from my friends as early as end of June and already show what to have and privillage for early birds discounts. This year I got the privillage to set my foot into a hotel kicthen again to learn how to make moon cakes as this round I will be learning how to make Snowskin Mooncakes with the courtesy of Zuan Yuan, One World Hotel.

What is in the kitchen for us this round is to make Low Sugar Wheat Grass and Green Tea Snow Skin Mooncakes.

mooncake (1)_resize

Ingredients involve: icing sugar, glutinous rice flour, shortening and green tea powder.

mooncake (2)_resize

DSC_3500_thumb[1]

Then jus unwrap all the prepared ingredients. . . . and this round I the lucky bloggers around are lionelOng.com, Foodpoi.com and best of all our special guest of the night from all the way Melbourne, Australia is SneakyLily.

DSC_3501_thumbDSC_3509_thumb

Then you just pour all the ingredient into the tray and mix around . .add half bowl of water and mix the flour and other ingredient with your hand till its start to get sticky.

DSC_3514_thumbDSC_3516_thumb[2]

pour the rest of the water into the tray and mix thoroughly till the whole ingredient mix well. End resulst should be a bit sticky huge green tea ball.

DSC_3520_thumb

Then you prepare another tray that you roll it then weight to prepare on the skin.

mooncake (3)_resize

Then you take another layer of skin which you have prepared roll it till its flat and a bit thick so when you wrap it wont break.

mooncake (5)_resize

Place the think layer on your hand then place the greentea ‘bola’ on top of it. . .

DSC_3526_thumb

press it gently and slowly roll it with your fingers till it slowly cover the whole ball on the outer layer.

mooncake (6)_resize

Sneakylily serious in action . .

mooncake (4)_resize

There you are. the darker green are the base inside and the one behind with a bit mixed with flour are the end result.

DSC_3534_thumb

Then you place the ball into the wooden craft and press it gently till its even and solid, smack hard both on the left and right edge, shake a bit in the middle and turn it 180 degree hit hard on the table to enable the base to fall off.

mooncake (7)_resize

Tadaaaa…this is what you get for the end result. . .with the crafting of logo onto the mooncake skin. Izint it is simple.?

mooncake (8)_resize

Since I can do it.. I believe you can do it tooo . . .:D

After our hardwork in the kitchen then we were pamper with some food to digest before heading for mooncake tasting.

Malaysia experience in fine dining is growing steadily as with many people now enjoy the environment and the fine food presentation offer by the chef. Not to be miss that Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MIGF) is one of the best way to promote these fantastic restaurant. Last year, with the theme Chef United, a much needed by the chef to go through the slowdown in fine dining industry (click here).

Again for the month of October it meant a lot for a lot of chef that with their hard effort and creative thinking had put on the test, with months of preparation of thinking on ingredient and design of the food and it is ready for people to test at this event is flowing for one month. This year there will be a total of 30 restaurant participate in this event.

When I reach the convention center, I was amaze to see the big poster with the theme ‘Magical Chef’ for this year, with its style of promoting the chef is quite impressive.

MIGF

MIGF (2)

Heading for media registration as we get to go into the convention area earlier to photo shoot on all those delicious food first before everyone storm in and finish it in seconds.

MIGF (3)

The early birds would be Mei Yee (Witch), Esther, Me and Choi Yen, also Lionel for helping us to take photograph.

MIGF (4)

The main entrace to officiate the event.

MIGF (5)

Posters of chef are stick onto the pillar with their signature dish. .  This is what we call my magic dish~

MIGF (6)

The whole convention center had transform into its signature decoration with many tables are prepared with silver cutleries, pink napkin and a white gold plated porcelain plate place on top of the table. Candle lights are all lit around the dining area.

MIGF (7)

Creates a perfect dim environment to suits the theme.

MIGF (8)

A stage been set up to entertain most of the guests for the night.

One of the most happening event that held last weekend was MTV World Stage at Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach which was held for the second time based on success event on year 2009.

wallpaper04_800x600

MTV had line up the four performance artist for the night are:

– Bunkface our local Malaysia group

– Wonder Girls from Korea

– Tokio Hotel, German Pop Rock Band

– Katy Perry from America

*Most of the pictures here were taken from worldstage.mtvasia.com

Mtv

On that day itself, it was not a good weather and had rained heavily since 4pm but the rained did not stop all the fans from going into the event with MTV giving away rain coat for the early birds and those who reach late have to be under the rain.

Mtv (2)

I had miss the first group due to heavy rain that MTV kick start with our Malaysia local rock band from Klang, Bunkface. For local group, they are quite impressive with their overall performance that I did get to see them perform at one of the TMnet event. Having them on this stage is definitely great for their exposure especially on MTV.

Mtv (3)

While the rain become drizzling, the crowd had pour in like crazy with expected crowd of 15,000 people to party on that night.

Some of the MTV VJ came out as Emcee as I only know VJ Utt . . .

About 2 months ago when I saw Nanta Cooking show, I was quite interested in it and tweet about it. Then Andrew saw my tweet and we talked about it and he mention that its a show highly recommended and worth watching as he watch it in Korea. The following day, we instantly buy the ticket while still enjoying early birds discount 20% and this would be one of the best seating stage performances ever for RM110 and I am seated 5th row from the front in the middle seating.

 Nanta

I would say this is one of the best stage performance that I have seen so far in Malaysia which is absolutely entertaining, hilarious that those guys makes us laugh till nearly fall onto the floor. .  The flow of the whole show is very good and one of the best thing is that, this is also the first time a stage play without INTERVAL. . Well, worth all the money and glad that Andrew recommend this to us with Ester watching along too. If you guys do go to Korea, remember to catch this live stage performance.

NANTA Cookin’ is an energetic non-verbal comic musical performance combining the traditional Korean percussion performance Samulnori, vigorous acrobatic movements and drama. The actors do not speak: they communicate using body movements, facial expressions and a series of sounds made from whizzing knives and other kitchen utensils. NANTA Cookin’ promises to be a feast for the senses.

NANTA Cookin’ made its first performance in Korea in October 1997. It made its international debut in 1999 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and received an award for best performance. Since then, there has been no looking back for NANTACookin’. Its world tour had taken it to UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, the Netherlands, and many more. In March 2004, NANTA Cookin’ made its way to New York and had a successful one-and-half year run at Broadway, making it the first Asian show to open its own off-Broadway theatre.

Synopsis

In a kitchen, three Chefs (Head Chef, Sexy Chef and Hot Sauce) are preparing to cook for the day when their ill-natured Manager dropped a bombshell: cook for an unplanned wedding banquet which must be ready by 6pm AND teach his young and bumbling Nephew how to cook.

What unfolds in next 90 minutes is an amazing display of story-telling of the three Chefs (with the Nephew getting in the way) racing against time to prepare for the banquet. Things that can go wrong will go wrong and the Chefs (and the Nephew) have to put things right for the Banquet. They slice through the air (using sharp knives), beat chopping boards while rhythmically cutting up vegetables and perform impossible acrobatic manoeuvres. (source Ticketpro.com.my)
