Sometimes, its really good to have a nice neigbourhood bar or I consider those outlets inside Hartamas is part of neighbourhood driven. Nevertheless, there is one new bar that open its door few months back and just recently discover on it. I did pass by here many times and notice on it as just didnt pay a visit till 2 weeks back. PReviously was another pub and now being taken over by new group had turn it into Chapter One.

Then our funny question came about, where is Chapter tWo and Three. Eventually we found out that their future expension is going to go along that line, to mark on how many outlets they have.

Chapter One (1)

something I love about this place is they comes with free Jockey service and this definately give them an advantage to many players in this area and for ladies, you don have to be worry cuz their service is from 6pm till you drunk. Love how they put it their operation time. ūüėÄ

Chapter One (2)

Chapter One (3)

with new management, it also means the whole interior also change, as its more nice and love how they cleverly redesign their bar.

Chapter One (4)

I was there from 7.30-11pm that nite and this pool table were never once empty. It was being monopolise by those few guys the whole night and of course with the rules, winner stay.

Chapter One (5)

Chapter One (6)

They serve 5 GAB draught beers (Guinness, Kilkenny, Heineken, Strongbow, and Tiger) ranging from RM12 up to RM16 for a glass, RM17 to RM23 for a pint and RM45 to RM60 for a jug. There are no happy hour for beers, but the ala carte price for the beers are reasonably priced. So, that’s beer hours for all day long! Apart from these selection of beers, there are also other beers sold in bottles.

Chapter One (7)

Their food range is pretty okay . .

Chapter One (8)

And since they have something new in this outlet, the bar manager creatively combine a few beers to make up his very own special beer cocktail and its in the menu now.

1) Strongbow Mojito РOn our hot day, this will comes in good. Refreshing as it comes with a few flavours. Apple do pair well with this as Strongbow do have sweet end taste.

2) The Sex on the Beach is a mixture of Skyy Original, Peach, Cranberry and Orange juice.

3) Strawberry Daiquiri, mixture of Bacardi Carta Blanc, Creme De Fraise and Lime Squeeze. The presentation is cute.

Chapter One (9)

SAM_5290

Beer Cocktail Promo with a choice of 2 form the list:

Chapter One (9)

Let me introduce you one of my favourite unique beer cocktail first. Comes with A mixture of Guinness, Bailey’s and Irish Whiskey.

Chapter One (10)

The Irish Whiskey is added into the glass before dropping the ‚Äúbomb‚ÄĚ (Bailey‚Äôs).

Chapter One (11)

Once the bomb is dropped, this need to be drank up immediately! Love the creamy feeling and once down, you burp and you feel the heat in your stomac. Its something like Flaming Lambo but this is the beer version. Perfect gift for birtday boy and girl.

Chapter One (12)

Other beer cocktail I find it interesting is of course

1) The Snack Bite Black Pint looked like a sunrise in a pint. It is a combination of Strongbow Apple Cider, Lager and Blackcurrant

2) this name caught our attention РLunch Box for a beer cocktail name, it’s catchy.. Lunch Box is a mixture of Lager, Orange and Amaretto Disorono..

3) Previously I have seen so much about the posting of this combination of Strongbow and Guinness but yet find any outlet that promote it and now this outlet has it.. Its a bit smooth on the top cuz starting off with Guinness and further down its a great mixture of bitter and sweet end. Not bad~

Chapter One (13)

Chapter ONE Seafood Salad consists of prawn, mussels, cuttlefish, onion rings, croutons, coral lettuce, olives and cherry tomato, served with homemade thousand island dressing. I must say, the salad do impress me and its pretty good.

Chapter One (14)

If you are here for their live band and beer, then Crispy Pork Ribs is a MUST HAVE! The pork ribs are well marinated with fermented bean curd and served with sweet and sour homemade Thai chili sauce. It is serve pipin hot, with a bit crips on the end and aromatic. Perfect to go along with any alcohol on your table. .

Chapter One (15)

Pork Meatball

Chapter One (22)

Chapter ONE Sliced beef consists of grilled Angus Beef slice served with Japanese Soya Sauce and Wasabi. Its pretty good stuff, and for a price of RM 18, its a good bargain with many slices and its juicy.

Chapter One (17)

Pan-Seared Black Bass @ RM26

Chapter One (19)

Classic Pork Burger here are done with homemade style. weight about 200g per patty served with melted cheese, grilled red pepper, sauteed onion, mushroom and potato fries @ RM 28.

Chapter One (20)

Braised Lamb Shank @ RM38

Chapter One (16)

Their Spaghetti range is not bad too. We took off with Spaghetti Carbonara @ RM18 light creamy base although I always prefer mine to be thick as not many people like that. This is more generic.

Chapter One (18)

Spicy Seafood Aglio Olio Pasta not the best but certianly better than quite a number of places. With hint of garic spaghetti moist enough. @ RM23

Chapter One (21)

Pork Meatball Pasta would be better if the sauces can be slightly more sourish. @ RM20

Chapter One (23)

Another extra point for this outlet is that their live band is good and its available everyday EXCEPT SUNDAY. Service here is good too.

Good food is definitely hard to find, more ever those that you found and like, quality to maintain is another challenge. One place definately did not let us down so far is Sanook Bistro and Spots Bar never let us down so far, even we patron this place numerous time as normal customer, the consistantcy of food is there. I have blog about this place before last year (click here). This restaurant is actually a hidden restaurant right in Kelana Jaya yet overlook the lake.

sanook (2)

As for football fans, its will be a great place to hang out too, with huge screen special beer promo and ample parking around the area. As for this year, the Godfather had decided its time to change its food menu and came out with interesting food range that never fail to impress us.

Sanook (1)

I am totally impress with their wine menu, as this is the first time I came across a restaurant that write the characteristic of the wine and description of drinking. A totally perfect menu for me that I always have difficulties in looking for my bottle of wine yet asking the waiter/waitress they would not know what to recommend.

Sanook (2)

As its still early, we decided to chill with their signature Margarita @ RM11. A glass that is not too strong, with perfectly blend ice filled with salt at the glass and a slice of lemon. I ended having 2 glass. ūüėÄ

Sanook (3)

Jeng Jeng JEng.. here is the new menu, a unique way of capturing attention with chef special and road sign being install as a main attention grabber icon in the menu. BY many unique names and description in the menu have the attraction to attack us by telling us everything is good. – Dangerous!

Sanook (4)

Gyro Lamb Pita @ RM18 –¬†Sliced boneless marinated lamb leg with veggies & black olives, stuffed in fresh homemade pita bread packets, with special yoghurt mint mint sauce. It look rather simple like any other pita bread that I am having. With first bite, lamb being well marinated and burst with flavor as the taste is even better when you dip with their¬†yogurt¬†mint.

Sanook (5)

Spicy Mermaid Salad @ RM22

For greens lover, something light to go after with seafood then it is filled with Sauteed tiger prawns & calamari rings tossed with roasted capsicums, asparagus, cubed Japanese cucumbers & romaine lettuce in Sanook’s special house dressing.

Sanook (6)

I prefer Moogus Salad @ RM22

Grilled Sirloin Beef & Asparagus tossed with wild rocket salad topped with parmesan cheese and roasted red¬†capsicums¬†in house special dressings. As its just simple and I always prefer meat over seafood in salad. ūüėÄ

Sanook (7)

Kim Yang Lamb Cutlets @ RM52

Kim’s favorite lamb cutlets coated in Korean Spices, charbroiled to perfection & accompany with Korean Kimchi. As unique as the name could tell you, this lamb certainly is one of a recommended dish in the menu. Marinated to perfection and cook to well that the meat is tender and juicy. Sauce is totally unique and nearly bone licking good.

Sanook (8)

Masala Rib Eye @ RM42

Prime cuts of beef rib eye (250 gram) coated with chef’s special mix of garam masala, grilled to perfection and accompany by vegetable kebabs.

Sanook (9)

A mix for us sometimes would be good as it give you the option. Again the sauce is the main item not to be miss to dip.

Sanook (10)

Sotong Otak Otak @ RM30

Sanook (11)

Grilled whole squid (250 grams) stuffed with prawn otak otak (spicy prawn paste), served with sambal tumis , pilaf rice, garden greens, garnished with prawn crackers, almond & fried shallots

Sanook (12)

When I saw this in the menu, I told myself I must order this – Espresso Chicken ‚Äď RM25. Something its totally unique and first time I came across.

Tender chicken chop with espresso honey glazed and then roasted to perfection & served with pomelo salad, corn mojo, citrus bean salsa paired with tortilla chips. Sauce on the chicken is just amazing.

Sanook (14)

Teriyaki Char Siew @ RM22 –¬†Tenderly broiled chicken, brushed with special sweet soy sauce marinate, garnished with piquant plum sauce & green onions served with herbal pilaf rice

Sanook (13)

Tom Yum Goong Pisek @ RM29 – Soup lover that love tomyum, its bad that you miss this soup as the owner himself is nearly half Thai and very particular of his soup that he needs to ensure that the soup stays authentic as possible whereby what he prefer. Spicy enough to make you go numb for a while, sourish enough to my level and a perfect companion with rice.

Sanook (15)

I always told myself, I am going to skip their pizza this round yet I always end up ordering. SPICY THAI MANGO TUNA PIZZA. They are well famous for their hand tossed thin crust pizza. @ RM 33

Sanook (16)

In this bar, their firewood pizza is also one of their signature item that must not miss, home made thin crust with generous filling is always a must with beer while watching football. This is totally new flavour, weird by its name but taste good in your mouth.

Sanook (17)

Some of you might not like the sesame seed like me as I do not prefer the taste yet the aroma of lamb help me pair off the taste well. Sesame Honey Lamb Pizza @ RM35

Sanook (18)

Marie‚Äôs Crepe Suzette¬†@ RM17 –¬†Freshly pan fried french crepes flavored with creamy fresh orange juice and citrus zest. Orange zest taste might be a bit strong especially taste of orange skin taste is very visible but when comes to desert its hard for me to say no. crepes are thick in a mouthful bite are just nice and orange pairs it well yet a scoop of ice cream would me it perfect!

Sanook (19)

Every one went crazy of this Henry’s mud cake @ RM11. Serve pippin hot, small portion enough to satisfy your desert crave or end your dinner in style that mud cake is moist with warm chocolate in it.

Sanook (20)

After reading the post, might sound that I have like praised nearly everything, well, this is the Sanook Bistro that we are expecting as it never fail us with their consistant food quality as I have mention and the chef behind all these food are just amazing to make every portion right and perfect. As far as I know their new menu is amazing.

Good for you to give it a try.

One of the place that I recently visit certainly make it a hidden gem around the area. It was a surprise to me that, in that area actually hid one nice restaurant, although I went to KLPAC for some local stage show a few times. Neither did I know there is actually that exist here. KLPAC is actually like a new dimension as you enter the guard house with tress flanking on both side that will lead you to a abandon house smack right in the middle on the narrow road. Just follow the flow you will reach to another end of the park is Samira by Asian Terrace.

SAmira (1)

Here we are today hunting for Thai Food that is located directly opposite KLPAC and you will see this red brick wall standing tall with bamboo tress hidden behind it.

SAmira (2)

Right here in the park, this is where the restaurant is hidden in that you actually sit in it, you will get to enjoy the view of the park and pond.

SAmira (3)

Getting into the restaurant is pretty tricky, as you will be entering a little maze and you will reach this wooden bridge with  a huge pond next to it.

SAmira (4)

As follow the flow of the wooden bridge, you will reach the main area of the restaurant.

SAmira (5)

The ambiance of the place is truely amazing, that you got transported back to another world. Found out that the previous owner runs Japanese restaurant and it was taken over that now serve Thai Cuisine.

SAmira (6)

Surely it is a nice place to have quiet and peaceful dinner with family and friends, or would make it a nice place for your special occasions.

SAmira (7)

or you can be seated outside chill on the wooden bench and table.

SAmira (8)

overlook the pond and park.

SAmira (9)

SAmira (10)

In Thai food range is hard for me not to order this few drinks РGinger and Lemongrass, Lemongrass and Basil drink.

SAmira (11)

The first serving caught me by surprise, as it the first time I came accross Crispy Catfish with Mango Salad @ RM20, fried to perfection that it is very crispy as you bite you can still hear the cracking sound. Easily to be peel off , eat along with mango salad gives you another new bursting flavor. РRecommended!

SAmira (12)

Vietnamese Yam Salad is another new dish to me, that hardly come across a Thai restaurant serve such a unique entree dish. Yam was fried to crisp shower with some lime juice, fish sauce and sugar. Sourly is not just the taste as to make your taste bud to wake up up,  chilli padi is added in to make it sourly spicy.

SAmira (13)

Another one of my favourite entry as I just love sour dish to kick start with. Huge juicy prawns top along with pamelo, as you take one full bite of it, mouth had been burst with sourish juicy pamelo follow by spiciness at the end. Thai Pomelo Salad is something that you must not miss for as start.  RM 24 REcommended~

SAmira (14)

Tom Yam Goong is one of a thai soup that you must not miss too. If this soup is serve pippin hot then it would have been a perfect dish. serve along with seafood – prawns, squid and fish fillets. @ RM30

SAmira (15)

Grilled Norwegian Salmon With Basil Leaf is something that I truely enjoy, as I do not really love basil taste on my food, yet they are able to tone it done and blend well with the gravy giving it a perfect mix of balance with the thick sauce that cook with mix herb.

SAmira (16)

Southern Thai Masaman Curry With Beef @ RM 28 will be a perfect pair with white rice.  Gravy is thick yet slightly sweet in spicy curry, and rich with spices that cooked with tender beef slices is just delicious.

SAmira (17)

Traditional Thai Tom Kha with Chicken

SAmira (18)

SAmira (19)

Steamed Squid with Chilli and Lime Juice @ RM 28 – juicy squid brought to steam first then drench in sourish soup. I love the soup and chewy squid with my rice.

SAmira (20)

Grilled Fish Fillet in Banana Leaf (Otak-Otak) @ RM 32

SAmira (21)

When this dish was serve River Prawns with Lemongrass Sauce, we were like ‘wahhhhhh’ as it was set on the table it feels like the prawn got rape as it is¬†tremendous¬†huge prawn that was place on the table. I had 3 of this that making it particularly like I am having the whole plate already as prawns were very fresh, with roe and the lemongrass sauce¬†@ RM35

SAmira (22)

Pineapple Fried Rice that smells very fragrant, cannot deny it is with pineapples, and spices akin to kunyit @ RM18

SAmira (23)

Do not ask me why, as I just love Phad Thai Noodle with Prawn and Egg @ RM16 and I would say its one of the recommended dish that make it well fried with ‘wok hei’ and mix all ingredient in, just comes to my liking.

SAmira (24)

Pineapple Lamb in Coconut Sauce is another new dish to me. Mild in coconut taste with slightly thick gravy yet hint of pinapple sour sweet taste is detected after that. I just place this whole bowl infront of me. – Recommended

SAmira (25)

Spicy Chicken With Chef’s Special Sauce @ RM 22. Chicken is well prepared with outer layer fried to crips with meat is soft. It is very    fragrant with spices in thick coconut milk. Another star for the night.

SAmira (26)

Pan Fried Banana with Ice Cream @ RM12

Mango Sticky Rice @ RM 18, that mango is fragrantly sweet and by dipping a bit of coconut gravy with sticky rice and eat along all in one bite gives you the satisfaction.

At the end of the meal, all of us were satisfied with the  amazing dish that this restaurant have to offer as I find the food price is decently price along on the quality that we had, surely we will return again for more. It will be another recommended Thai Restaurant in my list.

A place that I have heard numerous good feedback is El Cerdo and always wanted to dine here if I have the opportunity, as always do not have a strong reason to come here. A place that is famous for plate breaking that will shoo your badluck away is one of their signature ceremony and when you dine here, often you will hear glass breaking sound.

El Cerdo (1)

Well, El Cerdo is¬†definitely¬†a place to die for if you are a pork lover with its little quote ‘nose to tail eating’ which every part of pig can be eaten. A place that specialize in pork that is not stranger than El Cerdo also means ‘The Pig’ in Spannish and here you go by learning a new word.¬†This restaurant serve¬†Cochinillo Spanish cuisine that smack right in the heart of busy night spot¬†at Changkat Bukit Bintang. One of the reason that this restaurant is quite famous because¬†¬†they have a Award-Winning Master chef that¬†specializes in home-cooked pork flavours from all over the world like Europe, the Caribbean and¬†Mexico.

El Cerdo (2)

Upon entering the restaurant, you will be greeted by a pig statue on the floor besides the friendly waiter that greet and ushering us to our table.

El Cerdo (3)

El Cerdo (4)

In the restaurant, you can find many cute piggy icons, pictures, statues around it and this piggy means HUat arrrhhh~

El Cerdo (5)

El Cerdo (6)

El Cerdo (7)

One of the reason they have so constant repeat customer is their quality and service also, that also won them a few awards. Now you know why~

El Cerdo (8)

Even the menu also have a cute pig chef picture that ready to blast you with its food range.

El Cerdo (9)

In the menu is pretty simple and straight forward with all the porky range that they have and everything looks tempting.

El Cerdo (10)

El Cerdo (11)

Later we were served with a few¬†Werner’s Special, as we leave our fate to the waiter to recommend us what drink is nice.

El Cerdo (12)

El Cerdo (13)

El Cerdo (14)

A place that would be perfect for any special celebration as on that night itself, which is on weekdays already have a few birthday celebration in da restaurant and its quite pack too for a normal weekday business.

El Cerdo (15)

We were then seated in a private room for 4 of us. ūüėÄ

El Cerdo (16)

Jamon Serrano –¬†Assortment of Jamon Serrano and Jamon Iberico with a Variety of Chorizo Sausages and Condiments @ RM 48

Serve with Imported High Quality Spanish Cured @ Air Dried Ham serve with Rock Melon and Salad

El Cerdo (17)

This would be my first time dining a full range of ham, and never had I seen so much ham in one meal. This is one of their signature that feature many types of ham that being serve fresh, air tight bag and flown all the way from a few countries.

El Cerdo (18)

To eat it, I always try a combo that one of a restaurant manager that taught me before is pair everything up on the plate that you can find as it is always a ingredient that they would go along and for me this round, I am taking a slice of ham, a vegetable and one rock melon, slide it into my mouth and it taste awesome.! Sweet yet refreshing and slight salty from the ham just pair the taste very well.

El Cerdo (19)

Oven Roasted Iberico Spare Ribs

Serve with Pineapple Salsa

El Cerdo (20)

When this was serve, Jason and Me Was like woahh!! and when it had landed on the table we cant stop drooling as the smell of the fresh roasted pork ribs trail on the air. Quickly we took the pictures and rape this ribs after that.

El Cerdo (21)

Indeed, was well marinated along with perfect roast of temperature that make all the side crispy and every bite filled with crack sound. The meat is just so tender and we have to pull out the meat with our teeth, by enjoying every bite of it.

El Cerdo (29)

We had not enough and we order another portion for big meat eater like us.

El Cerdo (22)

Cochinillo Alestili Segoviano

Roasted Suckling Pig (Oink Oink)

HALF PIGLET   @ RM188

WHOLE PIHLET   @ RM358

El Cerdo (23)

This is one of the signature that all of you must not miss, the suckling pig.

El Cerdo (24)

When the manager came over with the plate and told me that he can cut the suckling pig with the plate and I am so suprise till I ask him ‘ARe you SErious?’ he answered yes. One of the reason that it had been so easy that the pig had been marinated for a few hours before it was put to roast and that is how it ended up so crips and fresh.

Besides that, there is this Spanish tradition before you eat on this suckling pig which is like a little ceremonial to chop. ūüėÄ

You have to knock hard on the wooden board for 3 times before cutting it with the plate. Follow by cutting its head, body and tail as it means after chopping 3 times, it will transfer bad luck into the plate then you have to break the plate in the prepared wooden pail to cast away the bad luck and welcome Good Luck. Huat AHH!!!!

Hmm, didnt know that to eat a pig have this cute little ceremony to chase away bad luck. Its fun and you have to really try it yourself. One of the signature thing that many couples and friends do in this restaurant.

El Cerdo (26)

Serve along with special gravy.

El Cerdo (27)

And here you go, the well perfect cut of the roast skin, meat and everything. Smells just so good. One of the set back is, it has a bit pig smell that some of you might not like it. To us we find it good!

El Cerdo (28)

The skin is super crispy, aromatic that makes me keep eating and eating, definitely it had different taste compare to our Chinese traditional suckling pig. Its different league I would say. Meat is soft and juicy and I prefer to eat it like this than along with the gravy. Its just perfect portion for 3 huge guys like us!

El Cerdo (30)

Mountain Paella

Paelle Style Rice with Pork Bacon, Chicken and Fresh Mushroom @ RM 88

El Cerdo (31)

El Cerdo (32)

Something special to end off our great dinner¬†Werner’s Special –¬†Fresh Strawberry in Mango Sauce with Chocolate Mousse and Wild Raspberry Sherbet . At first it looks weird to all of us that nobody wanted to touch it, and it doesnt bother me and Jason till our¬†expression¬†came up good then Eric only took it. Sourish taste just as my liking that is just perfect to end this meal with this great desert. RM22.50

Overall, I enjoy myself in this dining and if you are saying would I come back again, I will say, DEFINATELY YES! as one of a pork lover this is surely a place that you would not want to miss. Recommended Restaurant. Bare that the food here doesnt comes cheap that you might have to dig a bit into your wallet as easily can comes to RM80-RM120 per pax depending on what is your order. ūüôā Its well worth spend.
