Heee, as some of you might have seen my previous post on Famous Yew Char Kuih & Ham Chi Peng that is located next to them, is actually related as I went on the same day. Lets head to next door which is the famous Zi Wei Yuen Steamboat Restaurant which is very famous in Raja Uda. One of the reason they are famous is because of the soup base, which is the only super important ingredient for steamboat.

I have been talking with my family and friends to come and dine at this restaurant for like bout 1 n half years already till date it was all wrong timing and since this round I am quite free and my friends love this restaurant, the agreed without any hesitation since its their favorite also.

To make an efford here, it is highly advise to reach here before 7pm or after 9pm as during peak dinner hours, you have to fight with  many families to get a spot in the area as its super pack.

This is what I mean as those who are standing are hunting for a table, so you better disperse your family members or friends to get a spot.

We lazy to order what is in the menu therefore we go for their set dinner, my friends opted for the most expensive set RM220 that consist of at least 10-14 items if I am not mistaken.

One of the thing that they are famous for is their special signature Fish Head Steamboat that available in two version, with fried fish head or the steam type. We choose the steam type then another attraction is that their soup base is milky version that you cant really find that in Penang and mostly I would say its the KL version.

Not only that, they use charcoal steamboat version to make it more nice. I only have charcoal steamboat when I went back to my grandmother’s village at some where deep in mainland only get to enjoy it.

This is what happen when the pour everything inside and waiting for it to boil as charcoal takes time to make it cook.

Find that the soup base is aromatic and sweet, as you can taste that they really take something to boil it long time to make it there and milky version of soup just make it look interesting. As you refill the soup many times then the soup gets more salty towards the end and the base.

Another thing that best pair with the steamboat is their own homemade chili sauce, that dip along with the ingredient is just perfect.

After a while after the dinner most of us gets very thirsty and I guess that they have added on alot of MSG to make us drink lots of water after that. No doubt that the soup base is good that we drank alot of the soup and just need to drink alot of water hours later. 😀

Its pretty good and worth to try. . .

Buffett Tim Sum RM 22++ , Mandarin Palace Restaurant @ Federal Hotel , KL

I guess it was a season of eat all you can. Jonathan had been looking at a few promotional brochure and keep mentioning this place for quite a while as previously I kept rejecting him cuz I was a bit phobia on tim sum. Eat a few times in a week could scared you off a little but he kept mentioning that its worth 1..you see you see.. very nice eh, so the arrangement was on Friday and we went with the 4 K’s and a few more.

I was having a hard time on taking the pictures as the light there is quite orangy and after taking a few I gave up with the rest of pictures. This would be a summerize posting as I am quite tied up with work load today. sorry for the simlified version.

The best thing is, you don have to travel to China to get to enjoy China tim sum, with a very well decorated China concept restaurant, which I was impress on it really gives you the kind of ‘umph’ that this would be the right place.

Welcoming you to the world of China. Its the entrance of the restaurant.

With an artistic kind of crafting art on the entrance wall had make you feel you are like in that country.

A 2 crafted big dragon circling the wall to makes the place with a great ambiance. With the waiter and waitress dress in traditional clothing that adds on the feel of it.

The dragon pillar which reminds me of the comic Dragon ball. lol~

A classic changing board place for women back in those days but with lubang lubang like dat, heee, the advantage is there. :p

For the first round of tim sum, we filled up our table with the available choice.

The foods here taste not bad with the price we are paying. With RM22++, Monday to Friday Lunch (I mistakenly put wrong pricing as previously I put RM16++) for a lunch buffet I didn’t put any high expectations, but one hell of the things happen.

I have been to quite a number of a restaurant, and this would be the WORST service hotel restaurant I ever went.

1st the tim sum for 2nd round we have to wait for 30 minutes at least on that day. Then we complain why is it like that, then what one of the guy manager told us they did not expect so much crowd and we just have to wait. With his way of talking and attitude had spark the fire of K and then one of the K complain you should prepare a lot what, since this is eat all you can buffet lunch. Then scold till the manager face change colour. One of the Auntie that push the cart also same case.

2nd was when the cart came out, the took the food to the same table 3 times, then start to piss us off till another K shouted ‘aunnnnttttiiiieeeeeee…. Where is our tim sum? So long still never come?’ with a lot of people staring at us, we don give a damm. Then they gave us a few baskets. Then shouted again, push the whole bloody cart here!! Is because they keep serving that first table like they were the VIP or Dato or whatever we just do not care. We just want our food as we don have that much time.

Then complain again, why is this happening. The manager was speechless and another lady manager(if not mistaken) which is much more polite and explain to us and we complain about that guy manager.

The food here is actually quite nice, for a normal serving type of tim sum. The things that I love the most or you should not miss are the ‘Polo Bun’. I took 4 of it.

Ipoh Chicken Rice @ Mid Valley

Noting to do and was doing some shopping at Mid valley, then walk across the road saw this shop. Since the lighting out there caught my attention and it is Ipoh chicken rice.

Walked into the front area saw this guy was so hardworking doing his preparation. The funny thing is that the other guy told him that, be cool be cool, just act normal, ppl from magazine taking you. Yau yeng arleady. I was laughing inside my heart and walking in after that.

The display chicken sure do look tempting.

The menu is simple. 1 page settle the thing. The most funny thing in the menu is NO PRICE. I was sitting there thought of SHIT…don know will kena how much already. What the heck..just try la… There are quite a number of selection in the food especially the ‘Siew Yuk’ seems like a lot ppl ordering as me the only 1 there. Cannot finish. Will be next round.

While waiting just snap the interior…normal high class kopitiam style. Without car passing by.

They asked me what I want as usually go to Ipoh of course try the ‘Hor Fun’ . It is quite oily on the too and can see like a layer of it but sure it does taste good as compare to the one in Ipoh, not much difference. RM 2 for this
Heee, as usual as any where got ‘Pork Ball’ I will order. My favourite. It is good though and it is big in size. 1 biji hantam into mouth will be too big. Like this very much. Only RM4

This is their Signature dish. ‘Chicken’ . With the price of RM7 they are charging and only a few pieces I feel that it is abit pricey. But the chicken is not as soft and the skin is not as smooth as the 1 in Ipoh but no complain. Not bad.

The funny thing is that the service to me is extra nice and like there is 1 waiter standing on the other side waiting to serve me. Maybe they saw me taking pictures of their dish and thought I am some magazine or newspaper ppl. hahah~ cannot denied that enjoy that privilege. Just that no Disc. Was hopping so.

Mamma Mia! The Smash Hit Musical

Hee, when I came to work and stand on the reception area in the morning checking out on the front page newspaper and the poster caught my eyes.’ Mama Mia’. Quickly read thru it and I am so happy when I saw the column saying that Mama Mia have extra shows. Quickly back to my cubicle called a few of my friends to check on them whether are they still interested. Getting very nervous and anxious siting in front of my working desk and waiting for their reply.
“tik tok tik tok“…aii..y so slow..celaka..faster la..later ticket finish again how..(in my heart)
Ahaaaa, finally there is 1 willing to go with me n kutuk me also y so ah pek watch this mama mia..lol …..then try the online booking, getting so damm frustrated as loading failed so many many times… #$!@#$%!
Called their ticketing line, wow, surprisingly I got cut of the 1st time I was so frustrated cuz was holding on the phone for around 15 mins by the computer voice generated saying ‘ I am sorry, we are experience heavy traffic, please hold’ until the last sentence was ‘ I am sorry, all operator are busy, good bye!~’ wahh..totally shock and geram. Made my call again and hold for another 15 mins, thought I am gonna get cut off soon and so relief when heard ‘ called tranffering‘ ..wahahha…cross my finger and hoping to get the zone and the day I want. Unfortunately Friday is like mostly sold out. Selling so fast, as the news was just this few hours ago, GILA eh…then tried on the last day~ Tier 1 all sold out..so manage to get the Tier 2..wohooo..nice place I got.. its in the middle and 2 row.
 
Wahhh~ when after confirm and got my ticket.. I am just so happy, as previously when the early birds released 2 months ago, wait for my friends to check that day can , this 1 can that 1 cannot. arrange until the end the ticket was left 2% and its all random seats. By that time was hoping got extra show, please got extra show, ……amitaba…..lol….

Heee and of course ‘Ma Ma Mia, Here i Come again’
Cant wait for the day to come.
