Celebrating the new Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilege Collection 7 layered harmonies by Carnovsky in style. The bottle is designed in such if you use a different color filter to see, you’ll get a different layer design unveiled to you. Besides that, to mark the RGB combination, Hennessy had pair up both strong talent with a specially designed menu and bespoke cocktails by Skillet @ 165 and Hyde 53 together.

The night showcased the limited edition design by Milan-based artistic duo, Carnovsky, while emphasizing the cognac’s versatility in the art of mixology and food pairing.

Carnovsky designed a variety of patterns illustrating the fundamental elements of cognac as well as symbols signifying Hennessy’s history. The duo then translated Hennessy’s story into separate designs, rendering it in “RGB” – Red, Green and Blue overlays – to illustrate the origin and spirit of Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège. Resulting in a single design, the three narrative layers are unveiled when viewed through a coloured filter:

RED – ENERGY:
Symbolizes the forces and efforts in creating V.S.O.P Privilège.

GREEN – NATURE:
Signifies the origins of V.S.O.P in nature and its fruits, conveying the finesse and elegance of V.S.O.P Privilège.

BLUE – DREAM:
Represents the sensorial journey and experience of tasting V.S.O.P Privilège.

Wow, time pass seriously fast. January is gone and Chinese New Year is this week Sunday and I believe every one already busy flock into supermarket stocking up items for CNY. Well, of course this Saturday is the reunion dinner night. Still scratching your head on where to eat if you are not cooking?

Ti Chen (1)

Ti Chen Restaurant is another favorite restaurant that I would recommend for Reunion Dinner. Located inside the golf club of Saujana Hotel that brings you this another dimension. Ti Chen, which also means “Palace of Emperor” is the iconic Chinese restaurant of The Saujana Hotel.

Ti Chen (2)

The interior is like classical Chinese novel “Dream of the Red Chamber”.

Ti Chen (3)

I love the new ambiance of this restaurant, not only love at first sight as its a total dimension from the exterior out from this restaurant as you walk in you are flank with the modern Chinese yet with classic touch of it. A simple concept that you can blend in comfortably . .

Ti Chen (4)

As for family, you are able to get a little private space in between and its unique how the make their movable wooden frame wall to separate the privacy.

Ti Chen (5)

As for this year, Chef Chong Seng Lai will be presenting his favourite festive dishes in 4 special prosperity menu to usher in the Year of The Snake.  Love his cooking style that definitely make the reunion dinner better as he is more into home cook style. Along the years he manage to learn many home cook recipe and improvise it slightly to be even better.

Sea Bird Nest for the Yee Sang

Ti Chen (6)

Ti Chen (8)

Many Yee Sang I have tasted and this is one of the most unique yet stood out in terms of taste. Sea bird nest slightly crunchy and fresh sweetness of fruits being added on along with chef special sour sauce in it that make it a perfect blend.

Ti Chen (9)

Double-Boiled Herbal Soup with Fish Maw

Before starting the mains, its always great to have a pipping hot soup to be serve. Something light in taste to start off with. Abalone slices are chewy and its pretty huge too.

Ti Chen (10)

Oven Roasted Chicken with Homemade BBQ Dressing. Love the crips of the chicken skin and meat is soft that dipping along with the sauce is a must. Creatively the chef add this with onion rings.

Ti Chen (11)

The fish is one of my favourite for the night. Fresh fish meat and the special ginger chili sauce that cook along that makes it simple and aromatic.  Steamed Red Snapper with Ginger Chilli Sauce

Ti Chen (12)

Next is big succulent prawn. Asam style? Nope, its Stir Fried Tiger Prawns with Fragrant Soy Sauce. Top soy sauce quality being used to ensure that the frangrant of sauce sauce is there and well soak into the prawn while cooking.

Ti Chen (13)

You can see that many Chinese restaurant would serve dish similiar to this, Braised Seasonal Vegetables with Dried Oysters & Sea Moss .

Ti Chen (14)

Special Wok Fried Rice with Tobiko and Crispy Beancurd Skin is one of my favourite too. Filled with wok hei and every mouthfull is fill with slight burst of tobiko make it a perfect dish yet pair along the the dishes above is just perfect. Good enough to be satisfied.

Ti Chen (15)

I have always love this Warm Nien Gou with Grated Coconut, that my mom would do it 4th day of Chinese New Year and dip alot with alot of fresh coconut slices. I prefer it in this rather than the cripsy fried. Nian Gou is perfect that its not too sweet and pair well enough.

Ti Chen (16)

Stuff with lots of food above and end this meal with this big bowl of Honeydew Sago infused with Calamansi Juice. I ended up having 4 bowls of this as its very refreshing in taste and honeydew that day was sweet

Still have  yet to decide which resturant to go for Reunion dinner, Ti Chen is one of the place I would recommend if you are into homecook food with nice ambiance. As we tried the Pearl Set Dinner and comes with a bottle of red wine too. Not bad.

  • Pearl Set priced at RM988++ for a 9-course meal with 2 complimentary bottles of Misterio Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wines
  • Jade Set & Golden Set priced at RM1,180++ and RM1,388++ respectively for a 9-course meal each with a complimentary bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label Whiskey.
  • Emperor Set priced at RM2,288++ for a 9-course meal with a complimentary bottle of Hennessy VSOP.

There are also a variety of Yee Sang available a la carte from RM48++ to RM228++.

Do make your reservation to avoid any disappointment.

Talking about cognac, I am sure a fan of Hennessy V.S.O.P as last week I get to attend on their new bottle launching that design by a legendary person in automobile industry. The lauching take place at DoubleTree, Hilton and I just actually get to know what V.S.O.P stands for on that night itself, with a painting along the walkway mention “Legends are shaped over time. The legend of Hennessy VSOP began on 7 October 1817, when the future King George IV of England asked the French cognac House to supply him with a special cognac described in the records with the words “Very Superior Old Pale”

Hennessy (1)

It was a night that only people and media with invites are present at this launching. Upon this bottle design, Hennessy have engage a very well known or legendary designer in automobile industry is Chris Bangle.

Hennessy (2)

Then we were introduce on a short clip on who Chris Bangle is and how he come out with the design. Before that, he is a well known American automobile designer known for his daring design and far-reaching influence which a chief designer in BMW Group that is in charge of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce for 14 years since 1992.

One thing which is very impressive is during his time in BMW overtook Mercedes as the global leader in premium car sales. he is also the creator of the emblematic M6, Z4 and the famous GINA Visionary Model concept car.

Now, he had appointed by Hennessy V.S.O.P to new carafe is his first masterpiece outside the automobile industry, the designer first sought to identify the cognac’s personality by delving into its history. He wanted to understand the road travelled by these eaux de vie, from the first cluster of grapes to their maturation in oak barrels. After seeking to understand Hennessy V.S.O.P’s deepest secrets, he start to design this cognac’s new silhouette by accentuated the curves on the sides of the bottle, thereby reinforcing its silhouette’s dynamics, then he lengthened its neck and straightened its shoulders, stretching it vertically. It is inspired by the Hennessy V.S.O.P. bottle created in 1954.

“Designing for Hennessy gave me the same sensations as working on designs for fast BMWs or a great Rolls Royce. It is that experience of a unique emotion,” said Chris Bangle.

Hennessy (3)

Then we were presented on the new bottle itself on the night on his latest creation.. Love the new cool look of the bottle and the collections edition look pretty cool.

Hennessy (4)

Here you go, let me present you the new bottle design . .

The new bottles also comes with its new packaging design that has also benefited from this renewal, giving its edges over to a more modern vision. Anti-counterfeiting techniques for the Hennessy V.S.O.P bottle were also developed with a laser stamp for the 35-cl, 70-cl and 3-litre bottles and a hologram of inimitable complexity.
