When my best friend drop by in KL before heading back to Penang for preparation on his wedding, manage to have dinner with the rest of the group and some of them havent seen them quite a while. Then text him, where for dinner and he insisted I must dine at his hotel area whereby Prego Italian restaurant is one of his favourite restaurant. I have no doubt in his taste because when I was in Sydney, he brought me to all his favourite place and all are top notch.

prego (1)

Prego is one of the restaurant located at Ground Floor of Westin as we enter the restaurant I am surprise to see its pretty full for such restaurant on weekdays. Knowing the capacity, surely this place wont turn out in disappointed. Then only found out that they are one of a award winning restaurant. One of it is  “Best Italian Restaurant” in KL by Time Out KL for a few years

prego (2)

Classy interior with dim lights all the way, greetings from friendly staff  as you reach the entrance . ..

prego (3)

prego (4)

prego (5)

For smokers, you can opt to be seated outside and they have a coffee and cocktail bar for you ready outside to place your order.

prego (6)

I find the pricing in this fine dine area, is pretty decent. Selection of food is pretty much the same with any other types of Italian dining. (Full Menu, click here)

prego (7)

Then we were greeted by their homemade complimentary bread with tomato dip. It was gone in seconds, that the bread is warm and the dip just pair very well with the bread. We requested for another round of bread. 😀

prego (8)

One of the recommendations from my friend that he will never miss whenever he dine at this restaurant is Mushroom Risotto @ RM 52. Pack with flavours and its quite thick and creamy. It was cook to perfection, with the cheese melted and texture light sticky as it is suppose to be. We ended up order another portion. – Highly recommended!

prego (9)

Oxtail Rivioli as my another mischievous friend called it high class wantan. Light gravy sauce shower upon the rivioli and the @ RM 52

prego (11)

Braised Lamb Shank are decent as braised till the meat is soft and risotto at the bottom is too soft to my liking. @ RM 73

prego (12)

Another super star is Lasagne. Love the soft texture of layer in between that is not too thick, beef and tomato that is cook along is awesome! Highly recommended! @ RM 56

prego (13)

Saleme Pizza @ RM 49

prego (15)

This was our first round, and second round we went to Luna Bar for a drink, then they have third round that I did not follow  . ..

I would surely return for more, and its a perfect place to dine during any special occasion here.

A lot of my friends when saw me post up Karaoke in Taiwan in FB they asked me, Bok. .. are you okay or not? Go till so far you go Karaoke? Never sing before ah you? Heee, one of the reason that I choose to tag along with Pak is to see how their Karaoke place look like as every country have their own style, additional get to know more friends so that next round I do travel again to Taiwan (which is soon), it is more happening, with locals able to bring us and introduce me all the food that most foodie do not go. 😀 Then we head to NewCB Party KTV (星聚點西門館) .

It was on the second night that after sightseeing of Tamshui Fisherman’s Wraft, we hurried to XimenDing as we were late.

karaoke

When we reach there, we thought we went to the wrong building, as it looks more like a cinema outlook rather than Karaoke but it turns out to be.

karaoke (2)

They have a classy hallway that makes it look like a hotel area rather than normal koraoke place which can be identified.

karaoke (3)

As this would be the big difference of the Sing-K place. Usually we have buffet including in our package that is situated directly outside but instead of buffet style, they are doing more like a food court style. You will be given some vouchures to utilise, if you finish the whole stack of vouchure then you can pay by money.

karaoke (4)

Varieties of food to choose ranges from Japanese, Local Taiwan Food, Hong Kong food and some Snacks.

The room filled with big leather couch, sound proof wall that plaster along with nice wall decoration is quite big that accomodate 10 of us with disco light hanging on the wall waiting to be turn on. There is a super clean toilet for us in it too.

karaoke (16)

For me, I don’t really go Sing-K as I am not a big fan of it as I don’t sing (which all my best friend knows about it) but the only place I enjoy my K session time is when I was studying in Melbourne that they follow Hong Kong style which means there are people singing, there are people ‘Chai Mui’ on another table and drinking at another table. This is what

I usually do, I take food and eat. . ..

karaoke (17)

Then when mood comes, invite friends to drink or challenge or play games.

karaoke (18)

Listen to people sing especially chinese songs, as I enjoy them alot, part of it I am half banana as I don know how to read but know how to speak so that makes me half. 😀

karaoke (19)

Go prank people got beaten up and seriously (Eva put her energy to pull it) and the after effect Pak had damage red ear. How I know? I also got pulled by her.

I was lucky when I got selected by the company to get send over to Bangladesh for a showcase, during the past 4 days I am there, with very limited free time that I have, I manage to take a peek of the city during last day of the fair, the food there was great (click here) and the fair where I was attending (click here).

During the last day, I woke up very early and went to the fair to set up everything, and the remaining of the time before the exhibition start, I went out further into their city to take a glimpse on how the city looks like as I was very curious and at the same time need to go hunting for souvenir.

Bangla (10)

Let’s ride on this taxi and let me take you a mini tour street photography that I had took. I am still learning in this area.

Bangla (6)

With only an hour that I have, I walked fast and snap fast, do not have the time to enjoy the proper street photography that I have always wanted. I just wish I do have the extra time.

Bangla (3)

It was very early morning around 7am where every one is still sleeping and I was walking around my hotel area to see what is around there. They sky is always hazy here and those with sinus, this would not be a country good for you.

Bangla (11)

One thing which I have realizes that, there are a lot of universities in Bangladesh city itself. Just along the road of my hotel, there are 4 of them and not to mention a few blocks away and even though most of them are with degree holder but their pay is just very little with fresh grad non technical background, will get paid around USD100 per month and those with technical background USD200, which is double. That is why you see a lot of Bangladeshi in our country that even though they sapu toilet, the pay is higher than their fresh grad pay.

Bangla

Then directly in between 2 universities, located this street food, as I was advice not to try as I got the license of smell and see only, which is pretty suffering for me, I love fooooddd! This is because they scared that our anti body system cannot support the level of dirtiness there, and will get terrible stomachache.

Bangla (12)

Bangla (13)

Kids here, start working as young as 5 years old to earn their living, some are streets and some help out in family or friends business.

Bangla (14)

Roti Canai Bangla Version.

Bangla (15)

Different style of making the dough.

Bangla (16)

Bangla (17)

And this is what accompany the roti.

Bangla (18)

Bangla (19)

With all the universities student flocking this area for their breakfast.

Bangla (20)

Trisaw peddler that cost as cheap as RM1 for a ride around the area.

Bangla (2)

With the classic style of carrying things ontop of their head. It is not light judging by the things on her head.

Bangla (4)

If you are looking for something to shop, this are the kind of shop you will be looking for that all cramp in one place. They still do use classic wiring that is all over the poll to the shop and when look up at it, its full of wiring.

Bangla (5)

Bangla (7)

This is how their streets looks like . . .

Bangla (8)

Everyone loves to be in the picture in this country, no matter young or old, whenever you take your camera up and ready to shoot, they will just appear in front of you.

Bangla (9)

Bangla (21)

After tour around the hotel, and head to exhibition hall and set up everything, now head to their town area.

Bangla (22)

According to the guy that driving me around, this road would be very jam as the current distance to the traffic light could take up 30-45 minutes easily, as I was like hah! its worst than KL traffic jam.

Bangla (23)

They do have ‘tut tut’ service too as what is in Thailand. Sometimes they just don stop and how you ride on it is you run and hop, then as see in the picture, just grab it like the guy do till you reach the destination then you hop off again.

Bangla (24)

I was told by that guy that, this is the main market in Bangladesh City which I can get my souvenir here.

Bangla (25)

Most of the shops had not open yet, but for consumer wise, it is very easy for us that they had seperated everything into sections. This street would be more on clothes and jewelry . . .

Bangla (26)

The book sections, where all the shops cramp in this area selling books.

Bangla (27)

Head to another level,

Bangla (28)

Shoe section. . . .

Bangla (29)

To me, it feels more like ‘Padang Besar’ like the one at the boarder of of Thai and Malaysia.

Bangla (30)

Bangla (31)

Flower Sections.

Bangla (32)

The market is very huge, which is like a big rectangle box and this is another entrance / exit that I do not know where I have walk too, and outside this market, there are alot of vendors selling shoes and slipper . One of the favourites there are Crocs slipper are available too with around RM20 as their selling price (original or not, I have no idea)

Bangla (33)

Bangla (40)

Kids Clothes section.

Bangla (43)

Bangla (44)

Bangla (34)

This is how the view out from the market.

Bangla (35)

Bangla (36)

This is not a police car or our local security car that protect the cash. This is one of their public transportation, to protect you in most of the places.

Bangla (37)

Bangla (38)

Bangla (39)

The streets will get more busy after 11pm as it is still very early when I took this.

Bangla (41)

One of the lovely food I love to try, still cant.

Bangla (42)

Bangla (45)

Bangla (46)

Bangla (47)

Bangla (53)

Bangla (48)

Bangla (51)

All the paddlers getting ready to race.

Bangla (52)

Bangla (49)

A juction with no traffic law. You can syok syok turn or go straight even there are a policeman where the unpatient driver will do that and there is one bus that have no patience and break the traffic law directly go straight, the policeman was standing and cursing then took out his book and wrorte down the plate.

Bangla (50)

Bangla (55)

This their parliment area which I think it look classic cool.

Bangla (54)

and lastly after could not find anything in the market, and stop by this shop, which is a shopping mall with 4 floors high, that makes me nearly fainted when I walked in. Its like mini market in our country that been well decorated in interior.

After the peek of it and I went back to the exhibition and grab a travel guide from one of the exhibitors there and look at their places of interest. Amazingly, there are actually quite numbers of places to be visited that have to drive out from the city and their structure looks good! More info of their travel of interest (click here)

Sometimes I do wonder that how did Jonathan manage to find all the details of eat all you can meal and this round he suggest us to come to this place which he had been mentioning for quite some time. I did ignore him a few times as that time I was quite phobia of tim sum, eat too often in such a short time. It was Friday, so at least we can have something nice. RM28++ per pax.

When we walking, I had that kind of impression that, hrmm..another classic chinese deco style restaurant?

In a 5 star hotel area located at Seri Kembangan do expect to much but did impress a little.

With the menu and tick on the selection of food you want.

Fragrance tea that suits my licking that create a thin sticky layer on my tongue.

The soups were good. We order 4 types of it. Then when we order for 2nd round, the taste difference is quite huge as the restaurant was kinda full house and lack of manpower.

We like this very much, it was fried with wok hei and we order 3 rounds of this.
Very plain loh mai kai.

‘Durian Pudding’ is something plain on the top but when you deep deepper on it, you will find the jewel of the pudding which 1/3 of durian purree at the bottom. We like the ‘Mango Pudding’ more. The ‘Sweet Red Bean with Lotus Seed’ is good too, with quite thick in flavour yet I enjoy it very much.
‘Chilled Herbal Jelly’ is the most bitter jelly that I have come over so far. Even though I like herbal jelly quite bitter but this bitter is extreme but some of my friends they do like it.
‘Red Bean Pancake’ is kinda cold. If it was serve warm directly after fried.
This would be a short post with pictures illistration mostly, but what I would say, with the amount that I am paying, I would go for other shop instead of this one. The food is not bad but the service is pain in the ass with lack of man power for Friday lunch yet alot of Bangla working and the walk like turtle. So do not expect good service.

I have always wanted to watch a stage play, but always there is hard to find someone to go with. At last I found one. As I did blog about how happy am I when I got the ticket.
But definitely that day, I do not know where is Istana Budaya. When my friend told me it is here, I got shock and I asked her did we come to the write place. It seems like a building that got abondand. The outside view is Sexy…
Wow, this is what they declare a world class stage play building, whereby I believe there should be a fountain on the pond, well painted walls and nicely taken care off. The sight of the main entrance to the World stage play area is unbelievable ‘Pretty’. No maintainance, dissapointed with the sight.

On the inside it is another story. This is my first time I set my foot in Istana Budaya. It is abit old whereby when you step in got that kind of old cinema smell. Miss the smell, anyhow I was totally impress on how the interior is.

The interior of the Istana Budaya is really up to the standard. Compare outside(very kampung style) and the inside is like so modern..
Previously did manage to pull some one to watch with me. Thanks Lys.
This is me, the Mama Mia wanna be.
In the show, I was sitting on the 3rd level, because did not manage to get the early birds. If I did I would have the good sits on the ground floor.
Anyhow, the whole scene is like what you seen in the Mama Mia movie, just that in the movie they have more scenery to look at, on this stage play, I am quite dissapointed as there are just 2 tall walls that represent as their wall and move around the entire play. I thought the back ground would keep changing, but comes to logical, the whole scene is on the hotel area. So acceptable in the end. If you know ABBA songs you will surely enjoy, if you do not know, you will sit down there yawning non stop like the stranger sitting beside me.
The lighting of the play is good, totally following the rhtym of the music, their costume I must say, it is impressive in the end. The whole play I would say is so so only BUT usually people said the best is the last. Their really best part of the whole play was in the end of the play. Whereby they sing and dance all the way, stiring up the whole environment.
Usually, when such a great play, we will stand up and clap for them, let me tell you of what happen to me…..It happen during the last part of the play whereby they start to sing, every 1 on the ground floor and lower ground stainding up and enjoying the songs sang by them and me and my friend stand up also.
While enjoying ourselves, suddenly I feel there is 1 finger tapping on my shoulder hard. It was the ‘ah pek’ sitting behind me, dress up nicely, looks like rich family with his wife, then I think the sister and the daughter. With unpleasent manner, he asked me and my friend to sit down in a harsh way. Then the wife stare at us like I have curse her family 18 generations deep, and sitting there like ‘Guan Yin’. Then the daughter keep staring at us like with the look of no respect of elder. *FUCK!! (not like I dont, but depends how u treat me.)
With all the people around them standing, clapping and dancing all the way, just 4 of them sitting like a statue.
I was saying out loud, they from which kampung or planet 1..so weird eh.!!! 1st time come to play ah? or too old cannot stand.(they never take tong kat) so I assume them still very healthy as they look like mid 60’s only. Since so rich why sit so high..their neck can patah loh..the daughter never take care of them..Pity them…really spoil my mood on the end. But still they rocksZzzzzzz!!!!!!!
Great show, great music. Big applause for you guys~
Definitely I would go for other stage play as previously I miss the Beauty and the Beast.
