First time stepping foot into Mandarin Grill is certainly another new level of experience for me, as always the main entrance projects me the impression that they are serving buffet line, neither did I know its actually a contemporary restaurant. Not only that, with chances of being here along with few others are totally slim. Mandarin Oriental is known for its award winning owner and operator, therefore Mandarin Grill is something I am looking up at.

Many of foodies like us we surely heard about Michelin star restaurant, which is a fine dine exclusive restaurant that maintain its quality all year long. There are none in Malaysia. Guess what, now Mandarin Grill is getting an exclusive chef with experience in cooking 2-Michelin star restaurant is the new chef heading the kitchen as Chef de Cuisine is Chef Reto Weber.

Looking at the menu, I instantly lock this down for my mains 12 hours braised pure Angus Beef Short Ribs – morel mushroom with kohlrabi and potato puree @ RM 135

MO Bar (21)

I look down on this slab of meat that I thought I would not be filled and it proves me wrong. Braised to perfection that the meat is soft, tender and moist. I pair it with potato purree and it taste awesome along with a sip of wine. Something that you must not miss if you are here, some people do not prefer it and if you are a fan of Angus steak then should give it a try.

MO Bar (19)

At first I thought this Halibut Saltimbocca  is fish, then looking back at the menu only realize its smoked duck, sage, braised lentils , saffron jus @ RM 148

MO Bar (20)

Another amazing dish is Organic Lamb two ways – Loin, tortellini, celeriac puree, Balinese pepper sauce. Cook medium rare that you can see the blood still oozing out from the meat and sauce added on top is just aromatic. @ RM 165

MO Bar (22)

Many of other diners are aiming for this desert, as those are some regular in here and its a must have according to them. Granny Smith Apple Tart Creme France Ice Cream. It was cook to precision that the crust is slight crispy and apple is very flavourful and you must eat along with ice cream to make it more perfect, yet to me its still too sweet as I myself cant take too sweet item. The rest are just enjoy to the max with this desert.

MO Bar (23)

Dark Chocolate Sphere Yogurt sorbet, almond crumble and passion fruit

Wine dinner is one of my task to achieve as a foodie and I am glad to be invited to join for this lovely evening wine dinner at Marche Restaurant in Reinassance Hotel.

One thing that came into my mind was I have been constantly reading 3iLing blog’s, knowing she is a wine lover or I can say she really know how to enjoy her life or release stress in a way but comes to a point that if you are looking for a nice place with wine to hang out, her blog would be great to check it out. Although I am still new in writting this but its a great challenge~

marche

Upon stepping into this place, it is my virgin visit, still could not believe that I am here for the dinner.

marche (2)

What I have been told, Marche Restaurant have just got revamp few weeks ago and now with its new look with bar and restaurant together.

marche (3)

The dinner setting arrangement had been pair up accordingly to all the in the list with a modern Italian ambiance.

marche (4)

If you are looking some where to chill and relax after work, you can have a glass of wine or beer melting on the couch over look our very KL Tower.

marche (5)

I guess it was a season of eat all you can. Jonathan had been looking at a few promotional brochure and keep mentioning this place for quite a while as previously I kept rejecting him cuz I was a bit phobia on tim sum. Eat a few times in a week could scared you off a little but he kept mentioning that its worth 1..you see you see.. very nice eh, so the arrangement was on Friday and we went with the 4 K’s and a few more.

I was having a hard time on taking the pictures as the light there is quite orangy and after taking a few I gave up with the rest of pictures. This would be a summerize posting as I am quite tied up with work load today. sorry for the simlified version.

The best thing is, you don have to travel to China to get to enjoy China tim sum, with a very well decorated China concept restaurant, which I was impress on it really gives you the kind of ‘umph’ that this would be the right place.

Welcoming you to the world of China. Its the entrance of the restaurant.

With an artistic kind of crafting art on the entrance wall had make you feel you are like in that country.

A 2 crafted big dragon circling the wall to makes the place with a great ambiance. With the waiter and waitress dress in traditional clothing that adds on the feel of it.

The dragon pillar which reminds me of the comic Dragon ball. lol~

A classic changing board place for women back in those days but with lubang lubang like dat, heee, the advantage is there. :p

The open kitchen concept.

For the first round of tim sum, we filled up our table with the available choice.

The foods here taste not bad with the price we are paying. With RM22++, Monday to Friday Lunch (I mistakenly put wrong pricing as previously I put RM16++) for a lunch buffet I didn’t put any high expectations, but one hell of the things happen.

I have been to quite a number of a restaurant, and this would be the WORST service hotel restaurant I ever went.

1st the tim sum for 2nd round we have to wait for 30 minutes at least on that day. Then we complain why is it like that, then what one of the guy manager told us they did not expect so much crowd and we just have to wait. With his way of talking and attitude had spark the fire of K and then one of the K complain you should prepare a lot what, since this is eat all you can buffet lunch. Then scold till the manager face change colour. One of the Auntie that push the cart also same case.

2nd was when the cart came out, the took the food to the same table 3 times, then start to piss us off till another K shouted ‘aunnnnttttiiiieeeeeee…. Where is our tim sum? So long still never come?’ with a lot of people staring at us, we don give a damm. Then they gave us a few baskets. Then shouted again, push the whole bloody cart here!! Is because they keep serving that first table like they were the VIP or Dato or whatever we just do not care. We just want our food as we don have that much time.

Then complain again, why is this happening. The manager was speechless and another lady manager(if not mistaken) which is much more polite and explain to us and we complain about that guy manager.

The food here is actually quite nice, for a normal serving type of tim sum. The things that I love the most or you should not miss are the ‘Polo Bun’. I took 4 of it.
