prego (4)

prego (5)

For smokers, you can opt to be seated outside and they have a coffee and cocktail bar for you ready outside to place your order.

prego (6)

I find the pricing in this fine dine area, is pretty decent. Selection of food is pretty much the same with any other types of Italian dining. (Full Menu, click here)

prego (7)

Then we were greeted by their homemade complimentary bread with tomato dip. It was gone in seconds, that the bread is warm and the dip just pair very well with the bread. We requested for another round of bread. 😀

prego (8)

One of the recommendations from my friend that he will never miss whenever he dine at this restaurant is Mushroom Risotto @ RM 52. Pack with flavours and its quite thick and creamy. It was cook to perfection, with the cheese melted and texture light sticky as it is suppose to be. We ended up order another portion. – Highly recommended!

prego (9)

Oxtail Rivioli as my another mischievous friend called it high class wantan. Light gravy sauce shower upon the rivioli and the @ RM 52

prego (11)

Braised Lamb Shank are decent as braised till the meat is soft and risotto at the bottom is too soft to my liking. @ RM 73

prego (12)

Another super star is Lasagne. Love the soft texture of layer in between that is not too thick, beef and tomato that is cook along is awesome! Highly recommended! @ RM 56

prego (13)

Saleme Pizza @ RM 49

This was our first round, and second round we went to Luna Bar for a drink, then they have third round that I did not follow  . ..

Although I don really come to Desa Park City, it certainly is one of a nice neighborhood place to chill in. Everything seems so calm and peaceful, with people jogging around, playing tai chi, taking their dogs for a stroll and just feel nice to be here. – Soi Thai Restaurant

[UPdate – NO Longer in Operation]

Not only that, as Desa Park City also have a little eatery place that smack right in the middle of the field and host quite a number of restaurant. One of the restaurant that I previously went that serve pretty nice food is a Italian restaurant right at the corner. Now, dropping by here again is a new Thai restaurant that open its door since last year October and heard quite good feedback on it.

soi thai (1)

Soi Thai Restaurant its like a hidden gem in this neighborhood that serve nice authentic Thai Food. I got lost when I first look for this restaurant as it always appears in my mind that all restaurant are only on ground floor, as this restaurant is located on the first floor.

soi thai (2)

Soi Thai offer very pleasent dining experience with simple interior and their staff is very helpful

soi thai (3)

soi thai (6)

soi thai (8)

Pandan Leaf and Lemon Grass Drink, Thai Ice Tea,

soi thai (13)

Started off with usual Thai dining with kerabu, Green Papaya Salad with Dried Shrimp and Peanuts. I just love the taste of it, sourish which is good for stomach before heading to main course and its quite spicy with little chili padi being  mix along, and a bit of salty cuttle fish just blend the taste well.

soi thai (12)

Soi Thai Combo

This is a combination of pandan chicken, fish cake, thai wantan and croquette platter.

soi thai (17)

One thing to hunt for in this plate is the Pandan chicken. Well marinated and fried to perfection as the meat is ginger pale yellowish with a bit hard crust on the edge and its soft yet aromatic.

soi thai (9)

We ended up order another Thai Style Otak-otak as it is so good that each of us took 2. Steam to its softness like near eating jelly to my likings, and some prefer it to be harden abit. For me, I am okay with either version.

soi thai (10)

Thai Green Curry Chicken pairs well with rice.

soi thai (11)

Steamed Siakap with Lime and Chili Sauce sourish with lime base and we drank it like soup. Spicy yet its good till my tears nearly drip.

soi thai (14)

Something that you must not miss is their Signature Fire Pot with Seafood Tom Yam (4 to 5 persons). By the smells of it already thrill us to drink in asap with its sourish spicy smell that poke thru our nose is something that we can wait to put our hands on. To our delight, the taste is as good as what we smell. Spicy yet the soup is filled with seafood taste and sourish after taste. Just a perfect pot of Tomyam. – REcommended~

soi thai (15)

This is something worth to recommend Thai Red Curry Roasted Duck mild in curry taste, with duck meat is quite soft.

soi thai (16)

According to my friend, this is a very rare receipi that not many restaurant in Klang Valley able to cook this dish – Choo Chee Deep Fried Fish, is actually one of a signature dish in the restaurant. Deep fried fish shower with mild spicy flavor and skin is crispy with soft meat filling. – REcommended

soi thai (18)

Pineapple Fried Rice

soi thai (19)

Thai Style Kicap prawns

soi thai (20)

One of my favourite dish that I would not miss to try out is Authentic Pad Thai. Turns out to be good as the glass noodle is thin and small which it is suppose to be and fried with ‘wok hei’ covered with omelet. Mix all up is exactly the taste I have in Bangkok.  Just that Malaysia version do not add sugar. Recommended

At the end of the meal, since we are few days ahead and decided to celebrate Ken’s Bday along. 😀

Cannot deny that, this Thai restaurant is quite good around the neigbourhood and its worth to try as we are quite surpise with the taste that they can offer. Certainly will come back again, along if you ask me where to hunt for nice Thai food, this restaurant will falls into one of my recommendation list. 🙂

There are many places to be and hang out to have good meals with friends or casual business meetings, and if you are looking for a place that provide sensual and cozy ambiance, one of the place that I discover is Delucca The Italian Restaurant, one of a restaurant that offers authentic Italian Cuisine.

delucca (1)

delucca (2)

A place where its nicely set up that is perfect for love birds to celebrate special occasion in a section I find it very nice with uncomplete bricks decor and lights just shine towards that table . ..

delucca (3)

delucca (4)

Very much cozy area for dining which give me the kind of more casual, as the place lit with low lighting bulbs . . . .

delucca (5)

and I quite like the bar counter which is located directly in the middle of the restaurant which kinda seperate the area of more casual dining and proper dining area. . .

delucca (6)

if you do have private meetings or functions they do have this vip area for you .. .

delucca (7)

delucca (8)

Menu in the restaurant is quite simple with just one simple page that represent the whole list of it. Browsing through the list of it, the range of it is quite impressive as there are a few dishes that I am aiming for especially with duck.Well, dinner for tonight already arrange by my friend so we will just sit there and enjoy the meal . . .

delucca (9)

Frangelico Lemon @ RM18 is Frangelico added with lemon twist and sugar. One of a desert drink to start of with and the taste is absolutel nice. A bit sweet in taste with hint lemon and end taste, it taste more like Tiramisu in drink version. – Recommended.

delucca (10)

If you love alcohol, and I was told that Italians they do enjoy similiar drinks before their meal as usually they have long dinner over the table by chatting and socialising over the dinner table is to start off with Negroni @ RM25 that is made of one part gin, one part sweet Vermouth and one part bitters, traditionally Campari, garnished with an orange peel, it is known as an aperitif or pre-dinner cocktail intended to stimulate the appetite.

On weekend, there is actually nothing much just other than visit shopping mall or having yam cha session with friends at favourite hang out spot. I am not a regular person in Sunway and time to times I do realise that there are a few restaurant that had opened up and one of the latest addition to Sunway Pyramid Family is this new Italian restaurant Capricciosa which is located at the entrance heading towards Sunway Lagoon and a few shops away J.Co Donuts.

Capricciosa comes from a word Caprice, which means spontaneous gathering in Little Italian eateries with lots of people with great food and companies.

One great thing about this restaurant is that the pasta’s are made fresh daily in here . .

Capricciosa is founded by award winning chef Masaaki Honda in Shibuya, Tokyo, way back from 1978 and the outlet in Sunway Pyramid is the first one in Malaysia. Capricciosa has now 134 restaurants across the world and is visited by approximately 12 million guests each year.

Pina Colada Soda @ RM7.90, Mint Shake, Fruit Punch @ RM7.90

Italian Vegetable and Meat Soup is something new to me. Creamy soup base with a hint of onion and tomato yet  I am enjoying every sip of it with overall taste is just pefect. @ RM7.90 which is something I would recommended for a head start.

Rice Croquette, Sicilian Style @ RM12.90

Do you see the cheeze is oooozing, out from the crust. . . Taste is so good that usually I am not a tomato base lover when comes to Italian food but this dish had made me enjoying every bite of it. Love the aroma of the tomato base on top of it with a bit sourish and rissoto had been cook perfectly and deep fried on the crust makes it all blend well . . Recommended!~

Classic order of Italian range pizza would go for ‘Quattro Formaggi’ @ RM17.90 with a mixture of 4 types of cheeze in thin flat crust.

‘Capricciosa Pizza beef bacon, beef pepperoni, mushrooms and bell peppers’ @ RM16.90

Eggplant Gratin @ RM15.90

For eggplant lover or those who love cheeze taste, then this would be one of your favourite as it had now turn into one of my favourite with its rich taste. Recommended

Pappardelle with Porcini and Eringi Mushroom in Cream Sauce @ RM27.90

For this round, I love something simple in taste that ‘Tomato Sauce with Garlic and Peppers’ kills me off with its great taste of tomato base which is not to sourish and with nicely cook speghetti that its a bit springy and I sure do not mind to have another place of this!.  RM14.90 Recommended!

‘Whole Clams in Delicate Broth’ surely had very light in taste it is definately a good option that those who love speghetti do not like tomato or creamy base pasta. @ RM14.90

This is another dish to look out for ‘Amatriciana Fettucine with Eggplant and Bacon’ @ RM24.90

The most unique dish for the night is ‘Calamari and Onions in Squid Ink Sauce’ that this is the first time I see a pasta served in total black colour. After eating the noodle in one bite do prepare that your whole mouth will look like got poisoned. It reminds me a calamari trying to escape by spraying the black colour ink. RM16.90

Homemade Tiramisu tipped with crunchy almond flakes on top and moist mascarpone cheeze and soft fluffy fingers soak in coffee is dish to end the meal for the night. @ RM16.90

Homemade Pumpkin Pie @ RM8.90

My new found love of coffee after meal which usualyl I reject but this round I have decided to give it a try which is recommended by the friendly staff ‘Affogato’  served with scoop of vanilla ice-cream, caramel drizzles, chocolate sauce top with a spray of whipped cream out to be one of their signature that very reasonably price at RM6.90. I find that the coffee is very strong in aroma and bitter in taste if you soup it out just like that, the best taste of all is you scoup everything in 1 spoon and the taste is whoolah. ..  CHUN! a Recommended coffee. . .

Had a satisfying dinner and I will definately be back for more. . . . do remind that the taste here is a bit mild and find it a bit more towards authentic Italian style by restaurant Capricciosa.

With how many restaurant owners have taken advantage of the awarded pre-war town house renovate it into a classic and cozy dining place. Most of these restaurants are not big but pretty much small and cater for your needs. Soul Kitchen Trattoria  menu surely would not be extensive yet is simple cooking to make it a comfy dining experience.

On my last trip to Penang, after a full day of street photography, its time for us to head to this classic Italian restaurant Soul Kitchen Trattoria being operate by lovely and very friendly German – Malaysian couple. The place is certainly not huge with our booking of 12 pax, we manage to book the whole indoor area.

[No Longer In Operation]

soul kitchen (1)_resize

If you do pass on this street you will surely notice on this small green pre-war building which is just located 50m directly accross of Cititel junction.

soul kitchen (3)_resize

I just love the whole ambience of the whole restaurant that decorate with, and Jason trying to be the model for the place.

soul kitchen (4)_resize

The wall look a bit torn down with a simple white paint and a big logo is painted on it with 2 electric candle light place upon on the wall.

soul kitchen (5)_resize

No much fancy decoration on it as they have used simple and reusable items to decorate the whole place, wooden crates, used luggage, old radio being placed on the stair case.

soul kitchen (6)_resize

Postcards from other countries a being decorated along on the side walls next to the kitchen.

soul kitchen (7)_resize

They do not have specific menu with most of their food menu are written in two big wooden blackboard on the wall besides that, a small piece of board are place on the floor with their daily specials. When we saw the menu, I told Ken like, I think we are going to order 80% of what is on the menu.

soul kitchen (8)_resize

What I have been told that the menu do change from 2-3 months once by remaining the best sellers.

soul kitchen (9)_resize

As I mention the restaurant is not big, we operate the whole indoor area and it is highly recommended you make a reservation before you coming to this place. As for the night, it was fully booked. there are alot of walk in customer and they turn away dissapointed.

soul kitchen (10)_resize

Beverate wise they do not serve wine, surely you can bring your own wine as long as you order food from the restaurant.

soul kitchen (11)_resize

This 2 girls sure impress the rest of the photographer that not many girls are willing to follow and walk whole day for street photography as they just tag along without complains.

soul kitchen (12)_resize

Bernice is just too hungry till she is hoping there is food place on the table now.

It was a time of celebration and farewell that this round we was suggest to go this place for eat all you can. Surprisingly, this is the first time I came across that Italian food also got eat all you can. Since the price is cheap, why not. Was suggest by Jonathan again for this kind of food. Was a bit phobia too of his recommendation but manage to read a few blogger mention that this place is not bad. So its good to head there. With RM11.90++ which offer during lunch hour and we did not expect much.

This shop is located in the heart of Bandar Puteri which been one of my fav food hunting area, which I haven’t come across any bad restaurant of food yet under my category.

With their interior design like that, this place sure do remind me of a place when I was studying in Melbourne with a famous cheap Italian Restaurant located at Camberwell, ‘Sofia Pizza House’. One of our favorite dining area but this place is the mini version of it.

The menu given to you with the mix and match of your choice of pasta and spaghetti.

How can we deny a mushroom soup with that kind of pricing in this kind of shop. We gave it a shot. ‘Home made Wild Mushroom Soup’ with RM5 and it turns out to be good. Just nice which is not too thick not too watery and filled with some chunks and blended mushroom. Something which you would not want to miss to order.

Then the waiter also headache with us, one shot order so many. Our order is like, errrr..this one 3, this one 2, this 1 + this 1 we want 4 then the kitchen suddenly got so busy as we are ordering food for around 11 pax and we were like occupying half of the restaurant.

‘Spaghetti Ham Carbonara’

‘Spaghetti Shrimp’

‘Fish Fillet’

‘Fettuchini Turkey Ham Carbonara’

‘Fettuchini Mix Mushroom’

‘Fettuchini Turkey Ham’
‘Mini Hawaiian’

‘Mini Chili Tuna’

‘Mini Seafood Pizza’
‘Mini Pepperoni Pizza’
‘Mini Hawaiian Turkey Ham Pizza’
‘Mini Hawaiian Pork Bacon Pizza’
Then when other people came into this restaurant moments later, it had become full house. The chef were getting frustrated with our order as we one shot every time order quite big amount yet there are other customer in the list also till we were asked by the waitress to slow down our order. Lol~

I am not going to comment individually but overall, their range of pizza does satisfy us that the waitress in the end also recommend us to mix and match the list which is not in the menu. Her recommendation turns out to be good like ‘Mini Hawaiian Pork Bacon Pizza’ and their spaghetti range is not consistent as when we were there early, it was good and towards more customer it change. In the end of the meal, we were quite satisfied yet they sure do have a friendly crew and of course Jonathan did ask when want to go again. Without any doubt I replied, anytime!

It would be advisable not to do mass order, to maintain their QC. I am glad that their portion is not big yet 2 person can finish but 3 person would be ideal as you can try out more variety. Their beer is quite reasonable too as we order it.

If you are looking for a cheap place to eat with not high expectation yet with that kind of pricing, surely this place would be in my recommendation list.
