I guess recently I really eat a lot when I am not in KL, went back to Penang for a short trip to cover one event, then meet a few of my friends that I didn’t manage to meet during Chinese New Year and one of my best friend brought me to this place which I do love Yam Rice at Bukit Mertajam and which is one of her favorite stalls. I never came this far for this only in Chai Leng Park, Butterworth (click here on previous post).

This place is not that hard to find as you need to be very aware which turning to turn in, as the alley to tunr in here is very small . . .

All pork spare parts are available and see which part you like and ask them to boil for you into this ‘kiam chai’ soup.

More like a kopitiam style and its not very hot as they have  a few big fan on the wall to keep us cool . . .

To come till so far, yam rice is a must order as they rice is a bit dry as it needs to be and a few chunks of yam are in the rice, flavorful with a bit of dry shrimp taste too. The best is the soup, quite sour with the ‘kiam chai’ as it needs to be and the soup is not that clear and with sweet taste of all my favorite pork spare parts.

There are a few other mini side dish to order, my friend ask me to try on their ‘Tu Kar Chor’ which I find it nothing to shout about.

A must order is only the Yam Rice and mixture of pork spare parts into the soup.

If I do go back to Bukit Mertajam, it will be one of the stop I will be stopping by. Recommended

Well, what can I say, Murphy and his cousin bring me to this famous Ah Wang Bak Kut Teh shop at Old Klang Road where most of the time its always filled with lots of people especially during dinner. For side dishes, its always ‘Tu Ka Chor’ (Pigs Trotter Vinegar) is one of the additional that I would order. For this stall, its highly recommended by me as I don always like the texture of it, as for this stall, it was nicely steamed till it was very soft and one bite of the fats into the mouth it nearly melts on tongue, with its thick aromatci sauce cook with a bit of herbs and their very own style is one of the bowl that I finish it by myself. The thick sauce goes very well with rice!

This stall Bak Kut Teh served very mild taste of herbs that most of the people in KL would prefer and add on with some spare parts.

Vegetable is good too .. .

This is what people meant that Bak Kut Ten Under the bridge which is located directly below. . . This direction is from Old Klang Road heading to Mid Valley as the stall would be on your left.

This stall nothing to boast about just that they had made their name and very famous among all the neighbourhood and if you do come here, their Tu Kar Chor is not to be missed! Will try on the steam fish next round .. . .
