If you are craving for pork burger and you type the word in Google, guess which restaurant that pop out? CrisTang is no longer a stranger to most of the foodie, this is not an ordinary burger like our fast food chain or Ramly burger, when comes to the crave of this, I have been reading a lot of foodie blog about this place with certain selection which is must have or must try! Famous Pork Burger CrisTang

It was not until recently, I manage to drag my colleague to dine at this place which I have been wanted to go for so long~ In this restaurant, besides the famous pork burger, they have a unique dressing which is sambal petai to add onto the burger!

Christang

Cristang Restaurant is located at 8 Avenue Business Centre Seksyen 8 PJ, which for the first time I took the wrong turn and lead me to one big round to reach this place.

Christang (2)

It is a cozy restaurant that lightly dims . . .

Christang (3)

with some decorations feels like old english . . . .

Christang (4)

and the place of the restaurant is not huge, limited spaces are available as when we reach there, around 6.30pm, the place were arleady 90% book up. Only left 2 tables for us to choose from.

Advice: please make a reservation, if you plan to visit this place on the weekend~

This place cannot be denied that they serve pork, so piggy is everywhere with the pillow for you to sit on and to accompanied you eating too.

When we look at the menu, its full with temptations, with the description written in it, everything sounds delicious. Comes to a conclusion that, we start off with a must order item . . . . Besides serving their famous pork burger, they do have other selection such as pasta, western food and some local cuisine to choose from. Their famous pork burger with P1 – P9 to choose from.

We were out of idea of where to eat, very undecided then what they have suggested I do not like, what I suggest they don like. So ended up very cacat till went to new area to eat… Balakong~ Then Kenji mention that this place got very nice wrapped chicken. Then fast fast ask him to drive there.

When reach there and went in, I asked Kenji again, this shop can makan 1 ah… no people eh, he said you don talk so much, just wait and eat.

The very first order is ‘Yeong Tau Fu’. Its not bad but I have eaten better stalls compare to this, if their sweet sauce were a bit stronger in taste then would be good.

One of the thing that should not miss in this shop is ‘Chee Baw Gai’ (Paper Wrapped Chiken). When it was served, pass beside me, the keharum’ness of the chicken travels through my nose and instantly I was hungry.

Then they rest also ask me fast fast take picture la..hungry d..Then just snap 2 and even I cannot tahan wait to taste it. Finding difficulties to open the wrap but once open, its like just found a treasure buried inside the sand. The drumstick is flooded by the sea of thick gravy and the smell of it..damm nice!

‘Vegetable stir Fried’ Something simple and nothing to boost about.
‘Sweet and Sour Fish’ if I am not mistaken. Crispy on the outer layer yet the mild sauce had accompanied well with the fish and fish meat is soft on the inside showing the sign of fresh fish, accompanied by a bowl of rice is a perfect combination.
‘Butter Milk Pork’ is something I thought yewww.. but I ended up eating 3 pieces. A very thin layer of crispy skin and the pork was deep fried well that did not make it very hard in the inside. The sauce is nice, buttery yet taste a bit of the Thai sauce from Kentucky and eat it while its hot, the fragrance is there.

I cannot remember the pricing as I have lost the receipt but I remember 5 of us and each of us paid around RM12-13 which is quite reasonable for such a dish.

My choice of recommendation is the ‘Chee Bau Kai’ (Paper Wrapped Chicken) which is their signature dish here. If you miss this dish is you don plan to have sex after getting married.

Of course after lunch, I will always make noise for desert. Choe told me, don worry, its just directly opposite. By reading in Melaka also famous for Durian Chendol, she told me that this is the best place to go.

Being weekend, every where is just damm packed with people.

In the menu, surely its my type of preference filled with desert.

The rest waiting and camwhore abit. Then the next shelf to us is the place selling sweets and local snacks. Ended up Kenji bought a big Lolipop.

‘Durian Springy Dumpling’ caught my attention. I think whatever with durian I am just going to order. RM2.50

Cold skin and soft texture had make you bite like cotton and its not durian purree its like durian kuih inside. To me its like eating durian Kuih in cold version.

‘Refreshing Essence Lime with Liquorice’ RM3.90. By the name is self already proof its a refresing drink. Totally recommend this for such a hot weather.

Jeng Jeng Jeng…here comes one of the local favourites enjoyed by alot of people. ‘Durian Cendol’ RM5.80. Its refreshing soft icy that will just melt in your mouth and the best thing is the keharum’ness of the durian they added in is just veli good ah. Abit bitter in taste that goes along with the sweetness of it. Just perfect.

We ordered another bowl and told Jonathan that we wanted to add more durian in there, then he told us they say cannot add. DOWN!

Then I went out, saw this this stall looks quite tempting and buy 1 piece only. The promotion is buy 5 free 1 if not mistaken. Since I cannot finish and just wanted to try out 1 only.

The fish is call ‘Amoy’. hahha… means girl?

Insert with kaya, and its best to eat while its warm. RM1.50 per piece.

Camwhore session, have you ever seen a ghost licking lolipop… ?

tu dia… Karen looks like a ghost in this pic. 😛

Me trying my best~

This stall is located opposite the Chicken rice ball.

If you are looking for other sweets to buy, this is the shop to go. Directly inside the cafe.
A great place for the desert.

After dinner at Portuguese settlement, we head back to hotel to park our car and head to Jonker’s street night market. Where this is one of the famous streets everyone in town is talking about.

As it was weekend and the people conquering the streets is like Sparta, most stalls also got people buy, and the people that walking up and down is like morning market + night market + a lot of Singaporean + a lot outstation people = human traffic jam.

Yet we are still quite full from our dinner which is like 75-80% full but then still hiau, wanna try out the food. So when I came across the very first stall is this ‘Nyonya Delights’.

The auntie is enjoying brisk business and I am squeezing in to take my shot and seeing what variety she is having. Quite unique in the shape and flavor itself and ask the rest to share. Every one with one bites.

What I remember is the ‘Nyonya Sri Muka’ is my most preffered compare to the rest.

As the daughter also helping out on the stalls, the price range from RM0.50-RM2.

I see a lot of kids and young couples holding this one stick eat eating while walking. Thought its something unique mana tau its this Taiwan street snack stall. Taste so so only la..not my type of desert.
As walking down the streets and the amount of sweats accumulating on my body is going up. Then while waiting for the rest to catch up and waiting, saw this stall which is usually doesn’t attract me but the new flavor surely get my attention.

Usually I get peanut with corn and sometimes angry with egg also.

I have never tried ‘Durian Pancake’ and with my stomach already going to its full capacity yet still want to try.

The best part is they use the original durian meat and put upon. When the aroma was flying around, me and Kenji was like hmm..not bad not bad.. uncle add one more…hahah…all already full but got tempted by this piece.
Hot from the pan, crispy yet flavorful and the durian taste is what I prefer, a bit bitter yet sweet and with the crust around just taste good. All of us enjoy every bite of it. If we have room for more, surely we are going for second piece.
This stall is located at this street or this corner of the shop. The only stall serve with durian. Something you should try.

The stall opposite which looks colorful pulls me to that stall. Hot steaming good for facial yet with the amount of tim sum they are offering, cannot fill in liau. Just skip this stall. Maybe those who have tried can let me know.

Few stalls down the road, Kenji already start complaining that we all are animal. Do not know the word called ‘STOPPED’. Eating from morning till night yet still eating, Nagging all the way after the pancake.

Then came across this stall, that the uncle sell left 5-6 pieces of the otak-otak and Karen sapu everything + order additional 100 sticks to tapau back to KL. We asked her is she alright or not. Buying so many to eat. 50 is just enough, she said that can put in fridge and last 1 ma. I think she is going in to winter and need to stock up food for hibernation process.

Walk towards end of the street, Choe and Jon was saying wanna eat lala. then I said you guys go ahead. Never a fan of lala..yew..geli with the blood some more. Yucks~

Then ah Keh pull me along to eat the jap stall which she wanted only to take the picture of the stall, so jap feel but then the pic that I took was blurr didn’t post up..deng!~

I have never seen a Japanese stall outside on kopitiam or pasar malam or night market enjoying brisk business. These guys never stop wrapping up sushi.
This is one of their signature item in the stall. We find it quite nice. Should not miss if you came across this stall. Can’t remember the name but you will get to see a lot people ordering that.

Another signature was ‘Fruit Sushi’ serve in apple and a few other fruits. Something unique which you can try out, didn’t try the fruit as my stomach already put a stop sign for foods. NO MORE FOODS in my body.

Of course I am not eating that, cuz I was seating in front of them in the stalls, I am taking most of the pics I can.

This is what most of Karen’s order. Order then I have to become recycle bin.
The sushi that the prepare was fresh even for the salmon, no complain for a street food.

The sushi that was prepared is fresh even for the salmon, there is no complain la..for such a street food can get that kind of quality.

After the sushi, for my very own personal last stop which I saw a kid licking this so tempting cuz the weather was hot and surely its the thing that I need for at least its very refreshing and cooling. I took the Lime flavour which taste like you buy in Kedai runcit when I was a kid. Happily licking all the way to beer session.
Remarks: do not miss the durian pancake and the Sushi signature.
