I guess that now desert franchise industry is mushrooming every where and so fast with all those Taiwanese and Hong Kong brand flooding in. One of the latest desert shop from Hong Kong that I heard from my friends that just open its door not that long is this Tong Pak Fu. It is quite a well known brand in Hong Kong and now it had arrive in Malaysia.

Tong Pak Fu (1)

I would say on weekdays is pretty pack with people. .

Tong Pak Fu (2)

A very simple desert shop decoration . .

Tong Pak Fu (3)

Its a self service shop, whereby you have to come to the counter and order your desert then they will serve it to you on your table ..

Tong Pak Fu (4)

You will be pampered with their huge selection of desert that is available and nearly all looks good. . Just not to be greedy, so we pick some of their recommended desert to start off with . .

Tong Pak Fu (5)

Chilled Mango Sago Creme with Pamelo @ RM 7.80

When we taste the mango, we sure know that its not a local mango, as for local mango it wont taste so so sweet and flipping back the menu only know that its imported mango’s from Philipines. Taste not too creamy, which both of the taste of sour pamelo and sweet mango paired up very well . ..

Tong Pak Fu (6)

Trecka Durian Snow Ice @ RM 14.80

For shave ice desert, especially on durian flavor, I would say this is the super star of the night, what makes us order this is when we enter the shop we smell very strong durian and its very aromatic and we instantly flip into the menu to search for this flavour and they do have it. We ordered it then.

A superb desert especially for durian lovers, that it taste exactly like eating the durian flesh itself, very strong near to D24 that kind of taste, not too sweet and we just cant stop eating it. Highly Recommended for Durian lovers!

Tong Pak Fu (7)

Chocolate Lava Cake with vanilla Ice-Cream @ RM 12.80

Tong Pak Fu (8)

Based on our observation, this is one of the item that in house crowd mostly order, and we did not order wrong. . The last time I ate this kind of choco lava desert was when I was in Melb under one of my fav shop, Max Brenner . . Besides that, now this is one of the similiar taste that once cut cake then the chocolate just ooze out  . . . I might be too sweet for me, but if eat along with the ice cream is just nice. perfect for choco lovers.

Overall, this shop certainly stands out compare with other available shops in Malaysia.

Last Hari Raya Break was quite a long break for me as it is pretty boring to to stay in Penang all the time, and I cant really remember when is the last time I had breakfast with my parents, and decided to drove them down to Ipoh for Tim Sum at Foh San which I havent blog about it yet, then head to a few places before last stop, stopping by at this Funny Moutain Soya bean which is highly recommended by my brother.

soya bean (1)

Yes, you are right, the name of the stall is called Funny Mountain, and I wonder where exactly this mountain is. Those who are always down, or no motivation and I guess if this moutain do exist, then they should head there. :p

To hunt for this place is pretty easy as this little shop is located opposite Lou Wong Chicken Rice, where not you can see a huge banner right across the chicken shop which people queuing up that make the traffic a little jam up, is too hard to be miss.

soya bean (2)

I read many blog that they mention, try to be there early as the taufufah is one of the best seller in the shop and always finish pretty early, whereby try to be there anytime before 2pm on the day as it mention there, operation 10.30am till finish.

soya bean (3)

you can see many people do make a take away as this shop do not offer any place for you to sit, which is a small little lot that enough for them to move around and sell their items.

soya bean (4)

No wonder it attracted huge crowd, as I cannot deny that, this is by far one of the best taufufah that I have come across, that it is so silky smooth and so soft that you need not even to chew that with instantly melts or you swallow unnoticed.

soya bean (5)

Soya Bean, is very fresh and I like the texture of it which is a bit thick in taste yet very soothing, a very simple and refreshing for me in early morning. I always like mine to go with white sugar, as my bro and sis like theirs in black sugar.

This place is definately not a stranger to locals and if you do by chance to head to Ipoh for food hunting, then this is one of the shop that you must not miss. Highly Recommended~

Price range, RM 1-RM5

The funny thing is that, when May Ling ask me to join her for dinner and told me the name of the restaurant I was like hah? again and again. .. as the restaurant name is called Ricetaurant which is located in Bangsar Village 2 which I cant even remember when is the last time that I came here.

The changes here is quite alot that now host quite a number of nice cafe’s and restaurant in this building.

Rice Taurant (1)

Get to know one of the reason that why the restaurant is name like that because of Asian’s culture that most of us need to have rice on most of our meals.

Ricetaurant offers best of dishes around the region that makes it a bit fusion style.

Rice Taurant (2)

I like the restaurant design in such a way that, it looks like a small little hidden cafe in some ally when I was in Melbourne, with tree trunk and very classic kitchen utensils to be party of the design.

Rice Taurant (3)

Rice Taurant (4)

The place is not big, but good enough to provide us a very comfy dining space, with paintings on the wall and open space kitchen right in the corner.

Rice Taurant (5)

I like their menu, it reminds me when I was in primary school on maths homework exercise  book. Price wise is pretty decent which is not too over price with their portion being served.

Rice Taurant (6)

1) Apple, Elderflower and Lychee – just a perfect drink that blend till just perfect that I can taste the apple skin and very tiny small cubes of lychee – Recommended

2) Hainanese Tea

3) Pineapple, Orange and Mint

Rice Taurant (7)

Chinese Olives & Seafood Fried Rice smells good, that already know enough ‘wok hei’. The rice were fried till perfect dry, very fragrant in taste and just find that the black pepper taste slightly over power the overall taste. If they reduce a bit, it would be perfect.

Rice Taurant (8)

One of my favourite of the night is Teriyaki Chicken, which had been marinated very well, then cook along that the chicken is soft and every piece that I bite, the chicken is well coat with the sauce. Recommended

Rice Taurant (9)

A plain simple fried rice, that lean towards very simple chinese style is Chicken and Long Bean Fried Rice. Very mild in taste yet fragrant in wok hei and if you eat along with some curry dishes, just good enough to be satisfied for me.

Rice Taurant (10)

Another star of the night is Claypot Chicken, Yam and Dried Prawns in Nam Yue Sauce. Cook so well that the gravy is just thick enough, and some yam that just melts along with it, with cubes of chicken is soft and perfect to eat along with rice. – Recommended

Rice Taurant (11)

Sweet and Sour Fish

Rice Taurant (12)

If I am not mistaken this is Belacan Fried Chicken which is out of my expectation, fried crisply and by dipping with the sauce adds a bit kick but I still think eat it plain is much better and along with any of the fried rice.

Rice Taurant (14)

If you love cuisine from east, then this is another must order dish – Ayam Percik with Nasi Ulam

Rice Taurant (15)

The trick is, you must mix everything up Oxtail Asam Pedas, Sambal Belacan, Salted Egg, Ulam-ulam, Salted Fish and then eat along. Taste is pretty authentic with the ones I have tried before.

Rice Taurant (16)

After we are so full, I still decide to try out their Black Sticky Rice with Coconut Milk. Sticky enough, as the black stick rice cook till its soft and its a suprise that they add in lychee that makes it natural sweet on fruits, as I have always like mine to mix along with coconut milk which makes it perfect. Not many places I get to enjoy this and certainly this is one of the recommended desert for me.

After the whole meal, we are just satisfied and surely we are going to return for more, as most of the dish here are quite authentic and nice.

I guess that, most of us had travel more frequent now compare to last time, thanks to AirAsia that had made Asian country near with their cheap flights. During last round of Zero fare, I was unable to get those destination cheap then ended up with a very last minute decision heading to Bandung Trip with very cheap fare of return ticket RM85.

I had travel with AirAsia couple of times and this would consider the worst as my flight first got re-schedule for both heading to Bandung and Returning that had cut off our time there a lot. Then when heading to Bandung, flight got delay, then heading back to Malaysia, flight also delay. I guess this would be my very first experience in this. Aiiii. . . .

Direct flight journey was pleasent with their friendly crew from Indonesia that took us about 2 hours journey to reach.

bandung day 1 (1)

Bandara Husein Sastranegara Bandung is a very small air port.

bandung day 1 (2)

bandung day 1 (3)

After we happily spending some time taking pictures at the landed area, then we have to pay the price for being in the line around 45 minutes. With only 2 immegration counter opened as we are the last flight to be in for the day. As we head out from the area was nearly 10.30pm.

bandung day 1 (4)

Then I told Agnes that I want to try out local food, and Bandung being a small town, as around 11pm most of the shops are close and very limited area to get for food, she manage to think of this warung, Warung Nasi Ampera (Ampera Restaurant) which is famous for their very local cuisine, that served Sudanese food. (Sudanese is West Java ethnic), that operates 24 hours.

bandung day 1 (5)

This famous chain restaurant started as early in 1970’s in the capital city of West Java and till to date they have operations of 50 branches around Indonesia and around 30 branches are in Bandung itselves.

bandung day 1 (6)

With their dining area, classic warung decoration style that potray most of their culture, its something like our Kopitiam style.

bandung day 1 (7)

bandung day 1 (8)

As I see the price list, it is quite reasonable.

bandung day 1 (9)

The way the served are more like our economy rice style, that the bench is filled with array of food, then you can pick what you want they will heat it up for you.

bandung day 1 (10)

bandung day 1 (11)

bandung day 1 (12)

One of their signature classic dish is with this vegetable dip with their very own local sambal.

bandung day 1 (13)

The sambal might be just the look and let me tell you, you dip a bit  then you will feel the flame coming out from your mouth. Its soo spicy yet it is tasty. A must try~

bandung day 1 (14)

bandung day 1 (15)

Their local tea taste abit like our Teh KwanYin with ginger served warm.

bandung day 1 (16)

My all time favourite drink in Indonesia is Teh Botol Sosro. Hardly miss.

bandung day 1 (17)

This is what they Called Lalab, fresh vegetable with sambal which is one of the popular entree for Sudanese Cuisine.

bandung day 1 (18)

Then Agnes and Mosandy order the food for us to share, and they don provide fork and spoon, we have to eat it by using our fingers. Another new challenging thing for me to do yet I have to snap pictures. Petai is good, that the smell of it is not too strong, fermented Tofu had unique in taste, that goes along with rice is perfect. Ribs is highly recommeded, with its soft and juicy meat that I ended order another 2 more. Beef Brisket that had been deep fried with their own spices is another dish to aim for.

At the end of the meal, we had a very satisfy local delights to begin our food and shopping journey. A recommended place by me if you are aiming for local food.

As the time was not too early nor too late, then Mosandy suggest us to head to one of their famous bar on the weekend which is Sobbers. Consider one of the hottest place on weekend with certain occasions, there will be special DJ spinning in da house.

bandung day 1 (20)

As I walked into the place, I am very suprise to see the interior of it. Contemporary style yet very cosy place to hang out with friends.

bandung day 1 (21)

With their outside area are filled with rattan chairs with soft pillow for us to seat in and the temperature for the night is chill around 20 degree which such a good weather for beer and chilling.

bandung day 1 (22)

As for inside, the VIP area are filled with sofa’s to host you and your friends. ..

bandung day 1 (23)

Another area. .. . .

bandung day 1 (24)

and if you feel like grooving around on the dance floor, it is located directly infront of the DJ deck with some stools at the bar counter and I just cannot imagine how it is gonna be like on weekend.  What can we expect on Tuesday night crowd with many of them have to work on the next day.

bandung day 1 (25)

The dance floor is quite spacious for grinding and dancing. . .:D

bandung day 1 (26)

When I flip thru the drinks menu, one columm that certainly caught me by suprise is the price for the beer. Guess how much is it for a bigger jug then ours of Heineken? I was price only at RM28 and for a Tower of 3L, it is price at RM55. Its so cheapppppppppp . .. .

bandung day 1 (27)

My friends from Bandung left, Agnes and her best friend Mosandy, a crazy guy . .. .

bandung day 1 (28)

Modern lifestyle had created not only women want to looks good when they are out with their friend, so do guys. One of the few fashion iconic that made the trend possible start of with wide publicity of Beckham back in those days. For guys, besides skin to look good, one of the easiest part to take care of is hair.

During my university life, my housemate that got influence of Hong Kong trend makes them into street fashions that are quite trendy; sometimes it takes longer time to set up their hair.

Last time I used to spray my hair a lot to get the solid hair look to ensure it will stand all day long or during clubbing session to make sure I look good during the night. Now, I am going to do step by step how I used to set up my hair to look good as it used to be. Let’s play along with what I have.
