First time stepping foot into Mandarin Grill is certainly another new level of experience for me, as always the main entrance projects me the impression that they are serving buffet line, neither did I know its actually a contemporary restaurant. Not only that, with chances of being here along with few others are totally slim. Mandarin Oriental is known for its award winning owner and operator, therefore Mandarin Grill is something I am looking up at.

Many of foodies like us we surely heard about Michelin star restaurant, which is a fine dine exclusive restaurant that maintain its quality all year long. There are none in Malaysia. Guess what, now Mandarin Grill is getting an exclusive chef with experience in cooking 2-Michelin star restaurant is the new chef heading the kitchen as Chef de Cuisine is Chef Reto Weber.

It was cook to precision that the crust is slight crispy and apple is very flavourful and you must eat along with ice cream to make it more perfect, yet to me its still too sweet as I myself cant take too sweet item. The rest are just enjoy to the max with this desert.

I have been to Mandarin Oriental- Mosaic  couple of times with my previous company hosting many events at this place. Never did I really notice this place or even when its under renovation. Mosaic had recently just open its door to public to this newly award wining restaurant inside Mandarin Oriental Hotel at Kuala Lumpur, with its posh design by a Japanese design company.

mosaic (9)

I must say, they got a great selection of food in their buffet spread ranging from Italian, local, Japanese, Indian and a few more other choices, that lead by Chef de Cuisine Chef Raymond Abour Jeily.  mosaic (10)_resize

I always start my buffet with greens first and I am amaze with their wide selection of veggie, dressing, and types of oil for you to play and mix around on your salad. I am enjoying this section very much that makes me go 2 rounds before I hit the mains.

mosaic (11)

mosaic (12)_resize

Japanese section is all fresh, from oyster, to sushi and smoked salmon.

mosaic (13)

On their offering of North Indian Cuisine, are well cook with the curry are not too watery which is just thick enough to go along with Tandoori chicken, lamb, prawn with naan.

By the end of the night, I was full to the max as most of the food here are nice, and I would say that the buffet spread offering here in terms of quality are much better than a few places that I have tried so far. Price wise will be:

RM88++ per person (lunch)

RM108++ per person (dinner from Sunday to Thursday)

RM128++ per person (dinner on Friday & Saturday)

If you are asking me where can get nice buffet, certainly Mosaic will be in one of my recommended list~
