Delifrance (11)

Love the fragrance of Duck Confit and if I have a piece of fresh toast bread to input along would be a perfect combo for me. Always can side order to pair along. Sauce is light and mash potato is just nice.

Pipers (1)

Hidden in high rise residential, smack this few restaurant and bar that operate in Mont Kiara residence area and you will be surprise on what you will discover. One of them is this lovely restaurant & bar – Pipers. If you are around the area, you would not notice this building as it is pretty camoflush with the rest of the residential area or more like a club house, but its actually a public area.

Pipers (2)

Previously was known as another name and now under this new management they have switch it to Pipers.

Pipers (3)

Its more like a neighbourhood bar that gives you some quiet space that you wanna chill with nice background music and personal touch of the bar tender. Not only that, they do have live band playing on Thursday – Saturday. Best option is to go for their bottle beer.

Pipers (6)

Food menu is rather simple with a few pages to flick around. Price here I would say slightly expensive for this kind of ambiance.

Pipers (9)

Tried their Crispy Calamari with Bali Hai sambal @ RM22. Seldom I would really like appetizer or this might look normal. One of the taste that makes this pretty good is chef own made Bali Hai Sambal as the taste of the sauce is light lime sour and spicy end. The rings of calamari is fried to perfection that its crispy on the outside yet the meat still maintain moist.

Pipers (10)

Thai Style Crab & Avocado Stack with creamy Lemon Dressing @ RM23. Presentation looks awesome, that filled with top layer creamy lemon dressing, then finely cut tomato, a layer of fresh season crabmeat with thai sauce and avocado base. Among so many starters, this is one of a kick ass. Slighltly creamy  and all aroma burst into flavor in the first bite, you can taste on the pale lemon taste yet freshness of crab meat and avocado.

Pipers (11)

Wild Mushroom Salad with Mizuna & Crispy Noodles @ RM24

Pipers (12)

Pan Seared Foie Gras & Grilled Eel on Daikon bed with Truffle Teriyaki Sauce @ RM45. A well balance dish and not too salty. Foie gras is fried to perfection that one side layer is slightly crisp and inside is so soft till nearly melt in my tongue. Eel been added to add on some mouthful bite of meat.

Pipers (13)

1) Spaghetti Seafood Aglio Olio @ RM 32

2) Asparagus Risotto @ RM28

3) Slow Braised LAmb Shank @ RM 45

Pipers (18)

Crème Brulee

Overall, their starters do kick ass. Their main and dessert still need rooms for improvement. Believe that the chef is master in sauces as all his sauces is well balance and really really good.

Staying nearby the area had particularly making Publika or 1-U my second home as whenever thought of food, Publika area would certainly come into picture. It was not untill recently one of my reader highly recommend me this newly open place called Ante Kitchen & Bar that located along the stretch of Papa Rich is one of a new pork place to die for.

Listening to their advise, I have organize my usual pork hunters to come and do menu attack on their range. Along the way, also found out that the onwer a group of 6 love pork as much as we do by using premium Sakura Pork ingredients, AKB’s kitchen fuses traditional European dishes with flavors typically associated with the Orient.

ante (1)

Ante Kitchen & Bar just started operation in mid October 2012 and since then starting to gain its popularity. When the boss see us one group came in and order so much yet fully equip with camera and got him curious. Then he asked “Are we bloggers” then some say yes some say no cuz to keep our identity discreet.

Out of curiosity, we ask how did the catchy name came about. Its about a group of best friends of six loved to play Poker as a past time back in their university days. Knowing the risks (four out of five restaurants close within the first three years, statistically speaking) but not knowing the odds of starting a successful restaurant, the six decided to wager. They put their skills, effort, time, money and sheer “can-do” determination down as the initial contribution – the stake, hence another word is the Ante.

ante (2)

Interior is rather simple and cozy with simple with light European concept with sofas on the side and outdoor dining area for smokers . . .. . .

ante (3)

build up of the place with mini bar and serving Carlsberg Draft beer range

ante (4)

Welcoming you to Ante with oink oink~

ante (5)

Recycling wine bottles to put in their creative design .. .

ante (6)

Price range are pretty reasonable and food rage are pretty complete. . .

ante (8)

STarting off our drinks with imported Sarsi’s  Saxbys Sars. Its a bit bitter end and sweet also. Not my type of drink.

ante (7)

1) Iced Lemon Tea @ RM9

2) Rosie’s Lychee Fizz @ RM12

3) Mint Lime

ante (9)

1) Rosie’s Lychee Fizz @ RM12

2) Lemon-Lime Bitters @ RM13highly recommended as one of the drink I could best find in KL food industry as it is the nearest as far as I have tried when I was in Melbourne. The most important ingredient is the bitters shot, that a drink that create a light sourish taste with bitter end. This is just well balance and perfect.

3) Citrus Mint Cooler @ RM12

ante (10)

We kick start with something simple while waiting for orders The Hot Dog – wrapped in bacon papered sausage with apple mustard @ RM 18. Wrap and fried to perfection with slightly burnt at the end of bacon and golden brown colour that makes it look sexy. Aroma of it is so good that we cant wait to cut it off and put into our mouth. The sauce is the most amazing thing as they manage to well balance mustard and apple together is something new yet appetizing, dipping along with the sausage is just the perfect.

ante (11)

Follow by some bites of cut lamb sausage with bacon, and this would be good to go along with beer. Yumz!

ante (12)

Chunky Mushroom Soup @ RM 12 is another recommended dish with blended mushroom, just the right creaminess to kick start my meal with, I ended up having 2 bowls of this. We go a bit of adventure with , Chef Tomasco Soup – special tomato soup with mild spicy twist garnish with croutons @ RM 13. Slight spicy to make your taste bud awaken.

ante (13)

Cod Crab Mash @ RM18 its like potato in pot with cod in it. Spread it out and share is a nice dish to kick start with.

ante (14)

If you love green, another amazing order that you must not miss is Crispy Pork Trotter salad @ RM 21 with chunky fried pork trotter that every bite is filled with crisp and with their home made sauce is awesome – Recommended, secondary you can order Smoked Duck Salad @ RM 23.

ante (15)

Now heading to mains as the smell of this Signature Charizo & Bacon already makes us salivate and looking at the texture filling with heavy cheeze on the top and the smell just trail on the air is something hard to resist. Crispy base, generous ingredient and this pizza was gone within 60 seconds. @ RM 27 – highly recommended

ante (16)

Up in the Ante POrk BurgerAnte Special Pork Patty wrap in prime cuts of bacon strips & runny yolk @ RM 35

ante (17)

For burger range, we hunt down their signature and there is nothing much more to compliment of it, with patty is well cook that its soft and juicy, fragrant oil from bacon that pair along the patty, melted cheeze and oozing running yolk as it might get messy but dine happily after that.

ante (18)

Char Grilled Pork Steaksignature pork ribs with berry cream sauce, serve with mash potato and baked apple @ RM 33 Love a huge slice of pork with balance of pork fat and meat, then this would be a dish that you should not be miss. Grill to perfection that the pork fats is soft, and you definitely have to eat along with the meat and dip abit of the berry cream sauce to make a great combo~

ante (19)

This dish not many people can take it, as some find it too creamy, The Real Bacon Carbonara cook out to my liking, creamy enough to paint your whole mouth creamy white, slightly fragrant with black pepper and pork bacon with mushroom just add on to your chewy mouth. @ RM 27 – it would be best advise to share this dish as many of us find it too creamy but for me, I can just finish this whole dish by myself.

ante (20)

Something light that not so heavy then opt for Caramelize Garlic Olio – pasta with bacon topped with caramelized garlic @ RM 23

ante (21)

Seafood Marinara – fresh river prawns, green mussels, and clams cook in herb tomato puree @ rM 35 – huge prawn and clamps that make the dish look luxury to be eaten, indeed that the seafood is fresh.

ante (22)

The Hogger POrk Ribs – hickory piglet ribs with homemade BBQ sauce @ RM  75

ante (23)

A pork ribs that is seriously huge that is nearly as long as my face.

ante (25)

Chicken Pragmigiana – tender piece of crumbed chicken topped with homemade tomato puree and grated cheeze served with side of mash and salad@ RM 27

ante (27)

Volcano Sacrifice find that the lean meat is a bit dry @ RM30

ante (28)

Crispy Pork Knuckle @ RM 78

ante (29)

The best way to eat this is to put 3 sauces ontop of the meat and filled it in with one bite. It will be burst of flavours.

ante (30)

Such a perfect pork dinner, nowdays I am having the habbit of ending my meal with coffee. Latte is nice here. @ RM 9

If you are  pork lover like us, no doubht that Ante Kitchen & Bar will be one of a highly recommended restaurant by me as with their consistency in food is there. I have dine here 3 times over this place.

I get to know KL Live as a place to hang out for events with their huge club space on second floor. As the place now had went over major renovation and currently host a few F&B outlets that is quite promising. One of the outlet is Dirty Nelly that serve nice Non-Halal Meal, that is quite well known over their Damansara branch. I guess, by opening at this place is good news for KL people or those who work nearby.

Dirty nelly (1)

I got curious about their name and ask how did they actually come out with the name itself and here is how the story goes:

Over a hundred years ago, a middle aged farmer and his faithful pig, Dirty Nelly lived in a small village in Northern England which was engirdled and secluded, for the most part untrodden as yet by tourist or landscape painter. It was a fact known to all that Miss Nelly was the oldest in the land, even the border Reiver clans of Southern Scotland had no doubt on the subject.

One unfortunate day, the village was cursed with famine. The crops were dying and the villagers were starving. Having nothing to eat himself, the farmer stood before Dirty Nelly, and contemplated. Finally, he made up his mind to sacrifice Dirty Nelly for the sake of the people. It was a relief to the others for Dirty Nelly was so large that she fed the village for an entire week which regained the villager’s morale and uplifted their spirits.

Yet, at this new age, few understood and still fewer knew this but with that, that little village went on to prosper… [Sourse from: Dirty Nelly website]

A new outlet had surface in Jaya One recently with more like a bar heading towards the night, as I often walk thru their premises daily till I come across they do sell Set Lunch and decided to give it a try . .Many of us are unaware of this location as this outlet as BarCode is located directly above Starbucks as there is a small door inbetween Starbucks and Ducking to lead up to this outlet.

[Close down since 2014]

NED_5408

This place would be quite a nice place for after work as they played R&B music or hits top 40’s and over the weekend the crowd is not bad.

NED_5407

One of the set back for lunch on this place is you have to sit on the bar table, as the staff are very accomodative, they can shift outside table to inside upon request as it would be great for many customers.

NED_5498

Bangers and Mash as the mash potato is super good, soft and nice yet I do not mind to have the whole mash myself.

NED_5503

The star among the choices are this Lamb Chop, well marinated, and the sauce pair very well with the marination and there is abit of lamb taste as I prefer it to be. – Recommended!

NED_5502

Chicken Parmigiana fried along with bread crumbs and cheeze on top.

NED_5511

Another dish that I often order is this Spaghetti that prepared well with a bit sourish tomato, cheeze sprinkle and very generous with the amount of sausages given.

Their set lunch are very reasonable with the huge portion they are serving as its available from RM11.90-RM18.90 that comes along with a glass of Ice – Lemon Tea.

I have always love other fast food outlets and I did walk pass this fast food chain Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen & Seafood many many times and till I heard a few of my friends actually love this more. Then we were at e-Curve last week and decided to give it a try.

popaye (1)

Popeyes were founded in 1972 in New Orleans and is the world’s second largest quick-service chicken concept and it opened Malaysia’s first outlet in Taman Tun Dr Ismail in February 2009, and now has a total of 9 outlets located at Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Sunway Pyramid, Mid Valley, Wangsa Walk, Klang Parade, [email protected], Selayang Mall, The Mines Shopping Fair and Jalan Yap Kwan Seng.

popaye (2)

popaye (3)

A very classic style of fast food concept which is self-service that the menu is smack right on top. . .

popaye (4)

popaye (6)

When the guy at the counter promote the new item which is available for limited time Sticky Wicked Chicken which is unique, boneless chicken tossed in a flavourful new sauce. Its a tender juicy strips and a bit of spicy sauce, well fried and crisp at the edge. RM4.95 for ala-carte

popaye (8)

Follow by this smack ass Bonafide Chicken that my friend was crazy about. It just came out from bathing in hot oil, super crispy skin and hot meat till I have to let it cool down before I can eat the meat. Instead of bun they give biscuits which appears to be one of its signature too . .

popaye (10)

I thought it was another style of like friend chicken pop corn then only realize it is Fried Shrimps. Small size and easy for me as it is one piece per bite. . .

popaye (11)

Fried Fish Fillet

popaye (12)

Fried Chicken Strips

popaye (13)

One thing that sure kick ass is their mash potato, it is very soft then filled with small chucks of mince meat in it. Then I dip it with biscuits is good!

popaye (14)

I just love their fries, another item that I do not mind to just order and eat purely on it. Once start to eat it, it just cant stop.

popaye (15)

As Malaysians just love to eat rice, then they also do have Popcorn Shrimp Rice bowl available, and it is a bit healthy eating, as inside the rice they have read beans.

popaye (16)

Shrimp Sandwich

It surely didnt disappointed me and turns out to be good, I will be visiting this outlet again soon . . .also do check out their
