Quite a nice offerings that they have in their menu as we were quite full from the pork satay meal  which is a street away, we decided to order their signature.

Daily Fix (11)

Durian Cake is one of their top seller that the cake is serve slighly warm and love the fluffiness of it. Top with fresh durian meat on the top with a dash of gula melaka makes it a perfect combo with my coffee.

Daily Fix (12)

Daily Fix (13)

Love their Latte @ RM 10.50. coffee too as it is not too strong to my liking, which is not too acidic too. Frothing is just perfect.

Daily Fix (14)

See thru in instagram, alot foodie hunt for their Local Pandan Pancake @ RM 13.90. Made from juicy pandan leaves extract, serve with gula melaka and coconut. For such a price, I totally have no complain on it as they serve it with 5 big round fluffy pandan cakes. Best recipe is their coconut. Not too sweet that makes it a great pairing.

It seems that coconut shake in Malaka do take a big hit after the commercialize of Klebang Coconut shake. However, I was recently introduce to this stall by a local friend that Ah Lai Coconut Shake, located in Kampung Alai is one of their favourite.

price is nearly the same as per compare with other stall.

If I remember correctly, this taste slightly better as to compare with Klebang Coconut shake for its sweetness and this stall is slightly creamier. Worth to give it a try as this stall is about 20 minutes away from town.

One of the place in Melaka to hunt for food, Jason introduce us this fresh seafood that he constantly visit and now, it is not only famous to local crowds as many Singaporean also drop by this place according to him. The place is about 15 minutes’ drive out from the town area towards very ‘kampung side’ Seri Muara Alai Nasir Ikan Bakar and turn into a small lane with sandy rockies road with paddy field at one side to reach this place. We were advice to start the journey early as it is easily filled up very fast. We reach here at 6pm, so the whole place still pretty empty.

This place is located at Alai and by the eatery place name of HJ Nasir Ikan Bakar (Grill Fish).

haji nasir (3)

Now I understand why they said the seafood here is very fresh, some of the fisherman come back from the straights of Melacca, which is not too far from here and he get all the first hand fresh seafood first.

haji nasir (5)

In a hot weather like this, it is always best to sit outside for more cool wind.

haji nasir (2)

When we move over to this mini stall to order our food, we were spoil with choices, with so many types of fish and seafood available.

haji nasir (4)

Then grill fresh on the pit area. . .

haji nasir (6)

All off us were pretty full from some other food hunt earlier, and make it 2nd last stop before heading back to KL.

haji nasir (7)

Small pack of Nasi Lemak was served which is optional, and decided to give it a try, and it was a let down. The rice was damp, not much fragrant and the sambal look very spicy which is not really.

Kam Hiong Clams

Fried Squid were really good, fresh squid which is very chewy and the amount of crispiness on the layer of it, just nice and dip it with chili sauce is perfect. We order another round of it.

haji nasir (11)

Spicy Fried Stingray, well prepared with crispy edge on its tail and the meat in the middle is still very soft, and spread with their own homemade sambal on top just right.

haji nasir (12)

They just cant wait ..  too hungry again . . as we have seperate the right table are all small eaters including me, and on the left are all heavy weight champion eater.

BBQ Prawns

Grill Kembung Fish with sambal.

Cannot deny that the price here is cheap as we paid around RM 20 per pax after divided out and all of this are in 2 portion and the seafood is fresh. Taste wise, nothing to shout about, yet if like kampung style dining, this would be a place to go after.

Yesterday the traffic was bad as it’s a long weekend and I guess some people travelling back to their hometown, but it did not stop me to travel from KL to Kepong that took me around 1 hour to reach the restaurant as it was my first time to dine at Kepong and thought of I should not miss this. The Bird Restaurant

A restaurant that operate for around 6 years which is located in the heart of Business Center, Bandar Menjalara that blew my mind off with their interior and friendly owner which origin from Melacca and Sarawak, it was another dimension that I have not felt before. This is not just only a casual dinning and I strongly believe that our parents or grandfather/mother would fall in love deeply with this place.

Let me bring you a moment back to the past, giving you glimpse of what history would be with one of the owner loves buying antique, unique and historical stuff as he treated this as one of his hobbies.

The restaurant interior is fully decorated with classic art painting and photos that some of them are originally taken during that era, souvenir that had been more than 100 years ago.

I just love this ‘Wa Chan'(in hokkien) a 4 piece of round mug that combine up to be one piece as it is used to store food. It gives me my childhood memories that when I was a kid, my parents order food from a caterer and used to get this hanging outside my door for my lunch and dinner, as my parents are busy working.

Bird (10)

I just love the classic flowery design of it with what’s the menu in for the day.

With this glass cabinet, I still remember that I used to sit at the counter taking care of my grand father’s shop when I was a  kid, it was when I love playing the casher with the sound ‘Ka Ching!’ everytime press enter to make the money drawer slide out.
