It seems that coconut shake in Malaka do take a big hit after the commercialize of Klebang Coconut shake. However, I was recently introduce to this stall by a local friend that Ah Lai Coconut Shake, located in Kampung Alai is one of their favourite.

price is nearly the same as per compare with other stall.

If I remember correctly, this taste slightly better as to compare with Klebang Coconut shake for its sweetness and this stall is slightly creamier. Worth to give it a try as this stall is about 20 minutes away from town.

Every state is famous for their own local food, especially when one do travel to Melaka, ‘Satay Celup’ is a food that you would rarely miss. There are numerous hype over Satay Celup in Melaka from years ago till now which is heavily commercialize. Comparing to Penang version, their soup base is made of satay penut sauce as per compare to Penang on clear soup base with 3 sauces to choose from as the sides.

satay celup (1)

Upon arriving to their old destination, I stumble this outlet on my right as it seems like a new shop and I pull over as it is rather empty when I reach. I remember clearly that their outlet is opposite a furniture shop and later only found out that this is another branch of them.

satay celup (2)

This is the ‘Satay Sauce base soup’ which is abit thick, with peanut base, yet a bit spicy. Perfect soup base.

satay celup (3)

Now their system is more in place where there are food trays to place all your chosen sticks from the fridge to be place on it instead of plate.

satay celup (4)

Variety of ingredients for you to choose from, as from the side which is fried items to those place inside fridge.

satay celup (5)

One fridge is filled with veggies and seafood and the other is meat.

satay celup (6)

satay celup (9)

satay celup (10)

Ingredients seems lesser compare to last I had was 2009 and if I remember correctly, peanut soup base sauce is thicker, slightly mild spicy and quite fragrant as per compare to now, which is quite slightly diluted.

satay celup (11)

I was sharing table with another couple and they felt the same way too. Quality drop?? This question shall leave it for you to judge on.

satay celup (12)

Nevertheless, still one of a kind street food to go after and I have miss out this for the past few trips due to events that I am attending and could not fit onto the time.

There is this new shop where you will reach first on your right, before original shop opposite Furniture shop

I have been working nearby for quite a while and everytime I drove pass by here, its always pretty crowded at this Rojak Stall that you will hardly miss with 2 vans parked side by side with one selling Cendol and another oen selling Rojak. As far as I know this stall had been here for donkey years already and attracted many loyal customers around the area.

The term rojak is pretty different when it comes to states as in my hometown we called it Pasembur and Rojak is those with prawn paste and fruits.

rojak (1)

They do not have a proper seating or tables as there are only a few plastic chairs available and sitting next to their van as the table to eat or when it get pack you can see many people standing around eating or even there are customers taking it to their car and eat.

rojak (2)

rojak (3)

rojak (4)

rojak (5)

Here is pretty well know for 2 types of rojak which is the classic and another version is Rojak Mee means with yellow noodle in it.

rojak (6)

Here is Rojak Mee @ RM 3.50 if I am not mistaken.

rojak (7)

Serve along with ingredients such as floury cake, sliced cucumber, hard boiled egg, fried tofu, bean sprout and fried crackers. I prefer mine without the noodle as I find the noodle spoil the taste of the gravy. This stall still not the best as the peanut sauce here is quite sweet for me, I prefer another stall which is in Seapark nearby Maybank.

rojak (8)

Besides the food, you can try out another type of Cendol which is slightly gives you different flavour compare to those in Penang or Melaka. For a bowl of Rm1.20 you really cannot expect alot. Again its just too sweet for me. Not my type of cendol.  Shaved ice is still pretty rough and the red bean they use is quite moist and soft. Well, I just finish 3 sip then I am done . .

Some of you might find this stall is pretty good. Really depends on your own taste.

I often fancy for nice cakes, or in another word I am a dessert lover. Few years ago, I got expose to this brand as they operate in other states, then my sister found out that there is a home baker in Penang that sell very nice mille crepe as they started out providing by online ordering of freshly hand-made and hand-layered mille crepes.. Since it was my dad’s birthday, and decided to place an order. Since then it had become our yearly order for any of my family member birthday celebration.

There are another 2 more outlets are well known to many people in KL, one which is Food Foundry that located in Section 17 and latest addition is Nadeje from Melaka that spread its wings to KL.

humble (1)

Good news is that now they have spread their wings to F&B outlet as we no longer need to order the whole cake to enjoy the flavor of it and now we can just pop by to one of their latest outlet in Penang which is located in Straits Quay, that is in front of Papa Rich.

humble (2)

When I told my friend lets head here for dessert, they instantly agree as we do not know what to do for the next 2 hours. So camp here and kill some time.

humble (3)

There are about 8 flavours available

humble (4)

humble (6)

As my best friend say, dessert in chocolate will never ever go wrong. @ RM 9.90

humble (7)

French Vanilla (Original) @ RM 9.90

humble (8)

then try out one of a unique flavour, blueberry peanut mille crepe. Peanut lover would love this as the taste of peanut is slightly strong yet did not overpower the taste of blueberry and vanilla taste of it. @ RM 9.90

humble (9)

Over a few Mille Crepe I have tasted so far, I prefer Humble Beginning more as the taste is less sweet, not too condense and most of the layer crepe or well balance and moist. This is one of my favourite mille crepe shop. Recommended~

Well, now they just open their latest outlet in Bangsar as you can head there to try it out.. .

I believe many of you that head to Melacca/ Melaka will stop by at this famous mille crepe that is always pack with people (click here). Well, good news for many of us that now the famous cafe had expended its wings to KL and being their first branch, Nadeje now is open at 3 Two Square, PJ which is nearby Jaya 33.

Nadeje (1)

In the premises itself, the cafe is located inside one of the lot and if you are coming in thru Toyota Entrance, that would be the most ideal entrance to hunt for this cafe.

Nadeje (2)

I have heard some of my friends that they have to queue for quite a while and as long as 30-45 minutes for their cakes. I guess luck is on our side when we reach its only 2 person away and within 3  minutes we gotten our cakes. Its a weekday lunch. 🙂

Nadeje (5)

concept of their cafe in KL is totally different compare to their main Branch in Melaka. Its more contemporary design and seating are pretty limited with only 4-5 tables in door and another 3-5 more outdoor.

Nadeje (3)

In this cafe mostly are cakes and coffee are available, more like a tea time hunting ground or craving for dessert then this would be one of the option.

Nadeje (4)

Nadeje (6)

Not only that, as this round I notice that they have doughnut added into their range and as usual, there are many choices of crepes to hunt for.

Nadeje (7)

Nadeje (8)

Nadeje (9)

This is my crepes for taking away as usual I prefer their Original.

Well, people, now you need not drive all the way to Melaka to hunt for your favorite dessert shop as now they are open in this area for less than 10 days.
