If I remember correctly, Thyme Out started operate in a food truck and then move to a store which gotten some nice recommendation from readers and friends about this place. Serve some mexician street food where many people are recommending their lamb, and would certainly give it a try.

Ordered virgin Mojito and it is a blast, where it is refreshing and at RM 6, I totally have no complain over it. Their signature Ice chocolate known as Brown Cow serve in a dark coco colour and finds that the taste does not suits my palate. @ RM 9

Thyme Out (7)

For Burrito, there are choices of meat that you can choose and read some reviews that their lamb is highly recommended. Served with perfectly press tortillas that stuffed with Mexican spiced rice and lamb. I am in love with it as it has the lamb taste and mix spices is perfect. – Recommended.

Thyme Out (8)

2 soft wheat tortillas with cheese, spicy enchilada, sauce and chicken, topped with  fresh cabbage, tomato and sprinkle with cheese. Chicken lack of spices as compare to lamb.

Churros comes with Nutella as dipping @ RM11
Not many places can get this dessert right, however it does it slightly right compare to others. Perfectly deep-fried that makes the outer part slightly crunchy and soft in the middle. I think it is way too long and if the size is half of it, it would be perfect.
I would say if you are here, hit their lamb meat with any pairing of mains and can end with churros.

How many of you actually dine before Mexican food as not to mention those commercialize  ones, as there is one that serve near authentic Mexician food which is Frontera Sol of Mexico that smack right in the heart of Jaya One. One of the few outlets that hard to miss if you are around the area.

What is in the house today is their Christmas menu, as you might think its early but nope, its just about a month away where is just nice you start to offer Christmas menu.

Frontera (1)

Frontera (2)

Frontera (3)

its a place that normal pack with families and friend to come by to get their favorite dish.

For their Christmas menu, they are preparing the food to be as authentic as possible, that will differ in individual taste.

Frontera (4)

One of the thing that I sip non stop is this Watermelon Agua Fresca – Non Alchohol drink, that had a bit of soda, sweet watermelon and mild lime taste as the end is just thirst quenching.

Frontera (8)

Next, head to the  most classic drink of all is this 1919 Sangria an Alcoholic drink origins from Spain and, different restaurant, pub and bar prepare this drink differently, what you taste here might not be the same as other outlet as they have their own recepi on creating it.

Frontera (5)

Traditional Tamales (Choice of chicken / Beef)

Frontera (6)

Find that this is the Bak Chang in Mexician version. Like sticky rice, that have lots of ingredient inside and the taste is quite different but rich in ingredient.

Frontera (7)

Roasted Butternut Squah Soup With Sage Pesto, as after I finish the whole plate, as I thought it was pumpkin soup and I am a bit suprise that its not. It is butternut, anyway, I still enjoy the soup.

Frontera (9)

Mesquite Smoked Turkey with Broccoli Florets Topped with Chili Con Queso

Frontera (10)

This is one of the main star for the night that, when ask, do you prefer fish or Turkey. Instantly 90% of them order turkey, as during Christmas period, we have been taught from small is that Christmas = Turkey (must have dish). Turkey meat was well marinated, soft and prefect pair with gravy and the best of all to pair along that you must not miss is the pinkish Cranberry Chipotle Relish (a bit sour sweet and very unique in taste, I sure do not mind to have more of that), pair along with sweet potato, yes its sweet potato not meatloaf.

Frontera (11)

Since every one opted for the Turkey, so I try out their Veracruz-style Fillet of Red Snapper with mexican rice & sonora vegetables. Usually, I do not take fish and its quite beyond my expectation that the fish is good, soft fish meat and the gravy is abit sour and you eat along with jalapeno which is not too spicy, that balance up. After effect will make your tongue a bit numb. 😀

Peach Tres Leches Cake

One of the food outlet which is no stranger to all of us, I remembered that during my college times, when we were pretty broke yet still want to enjoy nice food, we head to hunt their set lunch at RM14.90 comes with a drink at Subang Parade outlet, and we just sit there talk and watch soccer and for the first outlet that they open in Penang, my dad brought me to dine there, he give me a prank yet also a surprise on my birthday few years back, that I have to stand on the table holding chili sauce bottle to sing as song to a full house crowd~ Gowd!, that was one of a great experience that I kept with the restaurant.

tgi_welcome02

It was not until recently that got invited to go to TGI Fridays to try out one of their new menu, Tex-Mex, the range of Mexican food. When comes the word Mexican, the next word that pop out from my mind is Tacos, with fine fried bacon baked with cheese. Yummm~

TGI

The bar area in the restaurant also used to be one of my favorite hang out spot after work, as I often came by for their happy hour after work when I was in Penang as it was on the way back home. I love their dim light ambiance filled with a few big LCD to watch ESPN or some news to chill and nice Bartender to talk with. It was chill and relaxing after hard day of work.

It always depends on mood to hunt for which beer but to me, it was always draft, never on bottles~ The clear and fresh taste of it. Stout is one of my favorite choice but Heineken is the most preferred choice as its cooling and refreshing.

TGI (4)

With the branch at Hartamas Shopping Complex, the team had put in a lot of effort to decorate the place and the team had won several times as the best dress restaurant, cannot deny that now the whole restaurant had Mexican ambiance that decorated with donkey, cactus and famous Mexican hat.

The day could not be any better that we got served with ‘Gold Mango Margarita’ ripe mango pureed with tart lime juice and shaken with tequila and triple sec. The mango smell is so tempting but they were never stingy with their tequila shots, it was strong, a few sips already make me haywire abit, but it was good. RM17.90. The good news is, they also served ‘Virgin Gold Mango Margarita’ whcih is without alcohol.

It was a rainy day, and also on weekend which I usually dine with my family on sat night or Sunday night then wanted to go a street nearby Campbell street to eat the char koey teow, mana tau did not open..aiii~ so switch to my dad’s favourite area. Northam Beach Cafe whereby a kopitam with East Meet West Meet Local food paradise. This Cafe a.k.a more standard kopitiam, offers variety of food like Western, French, Mexican, Japanese, Italian, German, Pizza and local food. One of a few stalls that must not miss which is the French, Italian, German, Jawa Mee, Char Hor Fun and Hokkien Char.

This are the outlook of the cafe.

This is the place where usually pack with people is because by the sea with not bad view. Cooling compare to the inside.

It is a big hawker offering lots of food. Was raining that day.

My mom was having ‘Hokkien Char’ which is one of her favourite in this hawker center. It is from the same stall as Char Hor Fun as as strong wok taste, not too salty, mix with some sambal given, wow, the taste is just nice, plate licking good.
This is the ‘Char Hor Fun’. Highly recommended. Got the wok taste and got the hor fun feel not like the one in KL a bit different in taste. The soup is thick in taste and the egg is perfectly match the taste in there which is my dad’s favourite.
This is one of the worst food I had in there, a fried potato with, don know what and what as all three pieces is different flavour but turns out to be all the same. Forgot to ask my parents as they said that they food on that stall not nice which is just next to the French Food stall.
This is from the Mexican Food stall and it is ‘Mexican Combo’. Well, was told by my dad it is nice so decided to try, before ordering the food, I was standing in front of the stall look at that lady cooking. She seems alright in cooking so decided to order. To my disappointment the food does not taste nice. Maybe I have taste before a better one and this is just not my choice. RM11 for this.
This is the firewood pizza as I order ‘Chicken Hawaiian’. Thin layer for the base, nicely baked in their special oven. Has some herb taste and maybe the pineapple that they use that day a bit sour if sweeter abit, will be very nice piece of pizza which I don mind to recommend.
This is from our favourite stall which we rarely miss. One of their signature is ‘Chicken Pie’ with a chicken and mushroom soup base in there. The soup is not too thick and not too watery, goes along very well with the crust of the pie and they were never ‘kiam siap‘ as inside the soup is rich of ingredient like chicken, mushroom and some vegie. RM9.50 for this.
