Glenmorangie Taking Up Tradition Up In The Hills

It is fun to head back to drink with Glenmorangie’s first Orange-themed party that kick off at The Hill in Damansara Heights recently, with many people are invited to the party, of course will see back those familiar faces. With their icon of body painted Glenmorangie models that roam around freely and let us capture for photoshoot.

my bestie Yuki get excited with her drink for the night, as this is the special mixture, with marination of orange skin. I love the taste better as its smooth and the combination that have hint of light bitter orange taste after that.

Great to see performance featuring Deer Society’s DJ Alex Asquared and a live bagpipe band brought great Scottish cheer to The Hill. A person whom I recently met very often is Will Quah, who was the host of the evening, also handed out a bottle of Glenmorangie Original to guests who had the most authentic impersonation of the Scottish accent.

Guess what? On that night football stars were no exception, as former Liverpool star Dietmar Hammann and former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise also joined in the fun. Its great night that all of us enjoy and on that night also unveiled Glenmorangie Wednesdays at The Hill, a month-long promotion featuring four different nights of Glenmorangie-approved entertainment, which will happen every Wednesday night throughout the month of April. The Mid-Autumn Festival @ Zuan Yuan Restaurant, One World Hotel

The Mid-Autumn Festival or Mooncake Festival which falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month is one of the important festivals observed by Chinese all over the world. Many of the restaurant owners will take this advantage to showcase their individual version of mooncake taste and snowskin mooncake had been one of the latest trend to evolve over the past years. Zuan Yuan Restaurant in One World hotel is preparing their 2012 collection for this Mid-Autumm.

Started off our tasting with the classic baked mooncake follow by snowskin version.

Still this Supreme Mixed Nuts remains as one of the heavy weight classic version that many people love this.

Always comes to mooncake, I still prefer my classic version with White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk. Yolk is definately a must and without it is like cooking a plate of noodle without oil. 😀

One that stood out very well is  White Coffee Lotus Paste with Walnuts, yes, they really do it in Coffee version that the flavour is not too strong, creamy and  mild enough not to overpower the taste of the yolk and after taste of coffee is build upon your taste bud. One of a recommended one.

Comes to their snowskin version, they have pretty impressive range especially on the skin texture that I could not reveal it to you, certainly it stood up more than the rest. A bit soft chewy that pairs very well with the filling that they insert in.

 Mini Snow Skin – HoneyDew Paste, Orange Flavour and Black Sesame seed.

Among those 3 flavours, it stood up by itself that Honeydew taste like rock melon sweet, orange flavour with robust taste like orange skin and Black sesame is just perfect.

The mooncakes are available in beautiful gift boxes which can hold 4 or 8 pieces mooncakes, from now until 30 September 2012.  The mini snowskin mooncakes are priced at RM10 each while the regular-sized ones are priced at RM18 upwards per piece.

Braised Homemade Layered Bean Curd with Shimeji Mushroom and Preserved Vegetable. Just love this homemade toufu that is perfectly braised in layer that the preserve vegetable that top on top just make the taste extra kick along the cook gravy.

If you love chicken then this is one of the dish that must order - Honey Glazed Boneless Chicken topped with Crispy Ginger Flakes. Fried to perfection with wok hei, that the chicken is well coated with honey glazed that you cant stop   munching along with your rice.

Glenmorangie Orange Retro Funk Party @ The Pool

Last weekend I attended a party and would be my first of its kind. Why? Glenmorangie had arrange a night to chill and party with following Orange Retro Funk Party as the theme. It is held one of a location that I previously remember is Spasso Milano as my friend did her engagement party there, and now they have moved to Pavillion.

Its cool to see the girl to be design on the cool outlook for the theme for the night.

Glenmorangie The Original is a Ten Years Old whisky mainly matured in ex-Bourbon casks that’s made from slow growth, air dried American Oak from the Ozark Mountains of Missouri. The selection of casks were important to bring the lemony gold colour as well as the aroma of mandarin, lemon, apple, pear and peach fruits with hints of Vanilla.

Glenmorangie, this beautifully seductive spirit originates in the heart of the Scottish Highlands where, at the Glenmorangie distillery, it first captures by elegant, swan necked stills that are the tallest in Scotland and then expertly matured in the finest oak casks.

As for the night, we had something special that soak with mandarin taste, as I have learn a new way to enjoy this single malt that, they have actually prepare some mandarin orange skin then in the bowl then soak it for 20 minutes along the single malt with orange . ..

Then after that it is ready to be pour out. It seems that they have turn the taste into more strong and a bit orange taste at the end of the sip.

We can do that at home and enjoy while sipping it away . .

Tadaa… and its ready to be served and always prefer it on the rock only with 3 cubes of ice so that it does not dilute the taste of it.

and the rest of the gang.

Its great to have every one there to chill and holding our every neat glass of Glenmorangie Single Malt chilling and chatting all night long, with music playing and best of all is this free flow that we are enjoying.

Besides that, for all Glenmorangie Single Malt Fans as there would be a good news that  Malaysians will be the first in South East Asia to have the opportunity to enjoy an ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ experience of Glenmorangie whisky at the Soundform Fluid Bar. comes complete with the state-of-art Elipson Planet L speakers and music centre designed by Philip Michael Wolfson.
