Anna trying out their Latte as it is well presented with a design of leaf, with their own signature cup.

coffee (8)

Taste wise is not very strong nor acidic. Its very mild.

coffee (9)

Single origin columbian coffee I would not say much as it falls into milder version as well.

Update: Mall close Down

Rewards for All Visitors to SStwo Mall this Christmas Season with
Lucky Draws and Giveaways of the Season’s Most Coveted Gadgets
worth over RM20,000.00

In celebration of the season of giving, SStwo Mall truly brings to life the Christmas festive season with a larger than life Santa’s Toys Outpost built into its Main Atrium and Santa himself, on his motor-sleigh roving around the neighborhoods and local communities bringing festive joy and cheer to young and old alike.

With ‘It’s Almost Home’ as the mall’s motto SStwo has truly made it a season of giveaway for shoppers and visitors to the mall by offering a month’s long worth of festive promotions, free giveaways, weekly lucky draw and a grand prize draw at the mall from now till New Year (please see appendix A for more details).

Mr. Vincent Chong, Director of Operations for Asiamalls Sdn. Bhd. said,

“Christmas is really one of the Mall’s favorite festive seasons and we really wanted to celebrate the essence and excitement of the period with a fun and whimsical take on Santa’s workshop which would excite not the young, but also the inner kids in grown-ups as well. Now’s definitely a great time to look out for our special activities ranging from Santa on his bike – coming around to your neighborhood to spread Christmas cheer or head down to the mall to check out our little outpost.”

He excitedly added,

“More importantly, what really excites us about Christmas is that we’re really taking the opportunity to get into the spirit of giving by running multiple giveaways for our patrons and visitors to the mall from now till New Years! It’s really a Year End bonanza and giveaways that will excite all from young to old.”

Adding on, Mr Chong said:

“We’ve basically purchased the season’s latest Must Haves ranging from the much coveted Samsung Galaxy Note II, six units of the Samsung Galaxy SIII, a Samsung Galaxy Tab Two 10.1 and not to mention, a home entertainment system comprised of a Panasonic 50” Plasma TV, Philips Blu Ray Disc HTS, Sharp Plasma Cluster Air Purifier and a Philips Micro HiFi CD MP3 USB player all for giveaway!”

Mr Chong was on hand to give away the Samsung Galazy SIII to first weekly winner at SStwo Mall’s Lucky Draw. During the prize giving ceremony, Chong Yen Ni, 21, was excited beyond belief at the Christmas present come early for her.

“This was the first time I had entered in a competition so I didn’t think I’d actually win!  I come to the mall as it’s very convenient for me and usually have dinner here with my family.  Having just finished my exam, this is a great Christmas and post-exam treat.  I will definitely be entering in the rest of the contests.”

With one Samsung Galaxy SIII already given out, there still remains a whole slew of prizes up for grabs. All one really needs to do is head down to the mall, grab a bite or shop and fill up an entry form to qualify for one of the many giveaways this season. An ideal spot for special occasions and daily needs, SStwo Mall thrives to bring convenience and comfort in the heart of the Petaling Jaya community.

I remember quite long ago when I first start reading blog, this Sarawak laksa known as one of the best in KL that was blog by many bloggers on the quality of the food that similar to be compare to their origins. Little did I remember or I have nearly forgot about this place existence till my friend bring me here to satisfy on their cravings

nam chun (1)

Kedai Makanan Nam Chun  is a typical coffee shop where you can find in most of housing neighbourhood that house many types of hawker stall but this particular ones house 2 special stalls that have attracted many East Malaysian patrons to be hunting their favourite food which is famous for Sarawak Laksa and Kuching Kolok Mee.

nam chun (2)

Some where along those lines with a few reviews that I read, apparently this is one of the best but with slight inconsistency of quality      ( in other blogger review)

nam chun (3)

Dining in here could be hot and  you would just want to spend a quick 15 to 20 minutes.

nam chun (4)

Here is my bowl of Sarawak Laksa. I have never tried before laksa from the east and this would be  first experience. 2 prawns sitting on top of the noodle nicely decorated to make it colourful for my picture. Slightly thick soup base with a bit sourish, a bit strong taste of coconut milk, spread with some egg slices and  coriander leaves with a bowl cost RM5.00. One of the most unique thing is the special type of vermicelli that they are using, thicker then normal mee hoon.

According to my friend, today’s quality was so so compare to other time that they have had.

nam chun (5)

Kolok Mee, is another type of East Malaysia food that is top with many slices of Char Siew, some fish ball and blend in taste. IT taste normal for me besides that, apologize that the noodle had been stir as she is too hungry and makan first.

nam chun (6)

This is not East Malaysia food already as I was sitting there looking at old uncle cooking, what makes me order that he have a special pot of soup base that added on to cook along and I thought that must be his own soup base that had boil for long time to cook along. Not only that, he also have another side smaller pot that added on alot of mince meat after he had done the instant cooking.

This would have been a good perfect bowl of Instant Pork Noodle Soup if the mince meat wasnt that salty. The uncle is very generous with its ingredient and a huge bowl like that cost RM6.

nam chun (7)

Right after my meal, I was looking something to much some more then discover this little tricycle and went check it out. Its a motor that filled with home made nyonya kuih~

nam chun (8)

When I saw the selection I drool as the texture and quality that this little stall have to offer. By the look and colour texture had attracted me already.

nam chun (9)

I bought nearly everything a piece each. Conclusion, I love it so much and I ta pau another RM10 bucks worth of Kuih. Highly Recommended if you love Nyonya Kuih. One of the best that I come across.

[Remark] Its just so funny to see how I write a food blog post 3 years ago as this post was written 2009. Because of the pictures was deleted in blogspot now I have re-visited this place to make it available again. One of my favourite mee goreng – Mee Sotong place.
This is one of my favourite mee goreng stall or I would rate the best Mee Goreng in Penang, came back a few times, but did not manage to eat it, cuz it was close on Sunday and usually came back for the weekend and today, the crowd was suprisingly alot. I mean DAMM alot. I have to wait for 1 hour and 15 mins for this because it was holiday season. Wrong timing to eat.

mee sotong (5)

The pricing consider one of the very reasonable that they are offering with the portion being served. There is usually a queue when you go at, wrong timing. This is the crowd that ta pau, have not include the crowd that are dining in.Those people that ta pau were at least 4 packs and above. Celaka

mee sotong (7)

Tadaa…this is the ‘Mee Goreng Sotongthat been served. My favorite. Tambah Pedas pedas. Even though I cant really take spicy but to the hack, it taste bloody nice. The first 3 mouth I am already sweating like crazee, it is just worth the taste. Alot of sotong on top, taste a bit sweet and you have to stir the whole plate up. It has the ‘wok’ taste, not too dry compare to those like eating dry noodle. It only cost RM3.50 for this. (Now RM4)

mee sotong (6)

To those who could not take spicy noodle yet would want to enjoy this famous mee goreng, you can go for one without chili. Usually anything without chili is quite blend in taste. This plate of noodle is flavorful as they are fried with their own special sauce in it and mixture of sotong pull up the taste.

mee sotong (1)

With the noodle served, you people must not miss this stall. directly beside it. Their Signature drink which is…………………..

mee sotong (4)

‘ Coconut Shake’, it doesnt taste so sweet, have a very strong coconut juice taste, with vanilla-ice cream and of course the coconut meat in it. Only RM 2. It is very famous among all the patrons there.

mee sotong (3)

and for this last drink as being regular, the taukeh very nice, make me 1 very special refreshing juice which is called Limau Shake’ which not many people know about it. After having those spicy food. This will be the perfect drink to go along with it. You will have the feeling ahhhh…so satisfied. RM1.50 for this wonderfull drink

mee sotong (2)

Besides those, Ice Kacang in this stall seems a hit to many people, just that I do not really prefer it. Different taste bud.

Nikko (8)

If you are a beer lover, you are going to love it here with some local and variety of international beer, with my personal favourite are:

Nikko (10)

A Germen Beer ‘Weihenstephan, Hefe-Weissbier Beer’ which is one of the oldest brewery in the world and ranked the best in Germany. I just love the taste of hazy amber, thick creamy white head, foamy lacing that drinks smooth and finishes almost crisp that drinking in such a hot weather is just perfect ended up me and Andrew were drinking a few bottles. Recommended`

Nikko (11)

‘Warsteiner, Premium Verum Bier’ is another Germen Beer that surprise me, that it is a non alcoholic beer, in  my fav list. The taste is fresh, uncommonly smooth taste with a brisk clean finish, till I cant really differentiate it until I turn to the back of bottle. For non alcoholic drinker, sure this is the beer to go after.
