IF you are in KL City Center and looking for Korean food, then you can turn to HanSang at Pavilion Elite. One of the restaurant can decently satisfy your Korean palate if needed.

HanSang (1)

You can pick variety choices from your bimbap, to bbq or fried chicken series.

HanSang (2)Their Korean pancake is edible, not he best as it is soggy version.

HanSang (3)

HanSang (4)One of the save bet is bimbap You will never go wrong with that.

HanSang (7)Cheese lovers might want to consider this as, the fried rice is good and coated with cheese is best to share this portion

HanSang (8)

Mandu is quite direct too.

HanSang (28)

We had Korean bbq too. Choices of meat is pretty spot on.

HanSang (10)

Another I would say a save bet is also their Army Stew. Soup seems clear but the powder mixture that they use to make the soup punch with flavour is their secret. How not to miss to top up with their ramyeon.

HanSang (20)

HanSang (11)

HanSang (12)

Variety of banchan is provided and the sesaoned egg is good.

HanSang (5)

I would say that their bibinbap is pretty good. A variety mixture of veggie and hint of gojuchang sauce and stir fry in the hot bowl is quite okay. I felt that it is more like a heathier version.

HanSang (29)

you can order cheese bowl at the side to side to make your bbq more interesting.

HanSang (30)

HanSang (25)

Not the best Korean food you can find round the area, but given the fact its the no choice punya choice, then kinda okay. You do not need to drive to those famous Korean food area like Ampang or Mont Kiara. I felt that for City center, this is kinda decent Korean food in KL that you can opt in for.

One of a wine spot that got into my friends list is The Barn at 1 Mont Kiara. With one of the latest outlet operating at Pavilion KL, it do bring joy to some of my friend that work around that area. Decent to good wines, it is best to go pair along with a nice snacks or mains. Their latest seasonal menu Ibérico de Belotta pork imported from Spain that starts from May till 15th July will be a good pairing.

The Barn (2)

The outlet in Pavilion is definitely much bigger compare to their first outlet. Not only bigger, but also imagine that they now owns the longest bar in KL.

The Barn (3)

The Barn (4)

Those who love their stout, you can get them here too as they have happy hour during weekdays and as for weekend, they do have livebands too.

The Barn (5)

The Barn (6)

some selection of wine for you to choose from at their rack.

The Barn (7)

Some private dining area for a small group.

The Barn (8)

As for Sunday and you do dine here, you get a complimentary salad on the bar with a mix of your choice.

The Barn (9)

Their usual ala cart menu which is available 24/7

The Barn (10)

Let’s dig into their seasonal menu by starting off with a very nice cut of meat which all flown in from Spain. Ibérico Magro is cook to perfection where the middle is still slightly rare where this texture is slightly chewy too. It is a definate must to pair with a glass of red. You can opt by getting their house red wine which turns out to be very good.

The Barn (11)

The Barn (12)

Ibérico Solomillo Carpaccio is one of the most tender of cuts that’s best appreciated for its fine marbling and texture. Best to be paired with delicious cheese and rockets it elevates the rich nutty flavour of the Iberico Pork. You can opt to go for their house wine Red (best if it is shiraz or dry wine) or chilled white that brings out the flavour of it.

The Barn (13)

Ibérico Presa with Chutney is actually a shoulder cut and there are 2 version of it.  One which is their classic and another one which is their BBQ.. For both comparison, I definitely like their original better as it gives better texture and classic taste to my palate. Just nice with a touch of some sea salt on top to bring a nice salty taste of it. As for BBQ, the other couple prefer this over the classic as they love the slight smokey char taste  of it and it is also slightly caramelize.

The Barn (14)

BBQ flavour

The Barn (15)

If you are a person who love to have a dish by yourself, then Presa is the perfect choice for you. not too heavy as the cut is just nice for a person portion. Sauce is just night that give a nice touch to the meat yet did not over power it. A balance of slight sourish touch to the nice cut of meat.

The Barn (16)

The Barn (17)

100% Jamon Ibérico de Belotta would be a perfect sharing dish to those that like slightly heavy taste of meat as it is cured for 36 months and a very nice cut of dry meat. Of course, I would love to have this with my dry red wine or super chilled white to pair with it.

The Barn (18)

As the meals finishes, and I am trilled with their local variety, hence Otak-Otak  is a must have in my list. Indeed this is a perfect piece to my liking as it is very smiliar to the one in Penang. Slightly heavy spice with nice herb leave and a long piece of fish meat in it. Recommended one. RM 20

The Barn (19)

Besides that, I also found out that Bak Kut Teh in the Barn is actually one of their signature. It turns out to be not bad as I usually like my BKT in strong herbs taste however this is still acceptable where it is a drinking joint that the taste pairs will with beer or even stout! @ RM 35

The Barn (20)

As for finishing, their Lava Chocolate is a must order. I can finish this myself as it is perfectly bake with the cake crust is slightly hard yet easy to break, and once it break, chocolate just ooze out like lava. A perfect finishing!

The Barn (21)

The Barn (22)

This is by far one of my most unique dessert finishing as it is not flaming Lamborghini however it is liquor Affogato. Quite an interesting coffee ending.

Croissant Taiyaki is another famous “hybrid” premium dessert from Japan has finally landed in Malaysia! This dessert house has finally chosen Pavilion as one of their first stop as Taiyaki is a traditional Japanese fish-shaped cake that’s usually filled with red bean paste.

Croissant Taiyaki (1.1)

Croissant Taiyaki is under the same owner as they are being house together with Gindako.

Croissant Taiyaki (3)

Menu is pretty straight forward as they only have 5 flavours for you to choose from and price starting from RM 6.50 per piece.

Croissant Taiyaki (4)

Croissant Taiyaki (5)

Croissant Taiyaki (6)

After ordering, just collect it at pick up counter. Depending on the availability of the ready puff, if not there are waiting time of 5-10 minutes.

Croissant Taiyaki (7)

For my pick, I have decided to go for Vanilla Custard  @ RM 6.50. Puff is crispy and texture is not bad. You can bite on the little cubes of sugar as you can see in the picture. Pastry is hot but filling is cold. Not a bad combination.

Croissant Taiyaki (8)

Croissant Taiyaki (9)

Of course need to try one of their classic which is Azuki Red Bean @ RM 7.50. Paste is just nice yet not too sweet. Besides that, I went another round to try out their hybrid filling which is Red Bean & Matcha Ice Cream @ RM 8.50. Turns out to be quite interesting. Feels like eating Ice Cream Roti.

[Happy New Year 2017 Everyone]. Since it is year of chicken and lets kick start off with Korean Fried Chicken. Korean food is spreading its influence around the world and Malaysians do love variety of food. Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory will be another famous Korean Chain that will be establishing their first presence in the heart of our city- Pavilion, KL.

Chir Chir (2)

The way to pronounce in Koreans is ‘Chi-ruh Chi-ruh‘ . Right before the opening of their first outlet in KL, we got to experience Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory at 313 Somerset Orchard Road, Singapore.

Chir Chir (3)

Korean Fried chicken have also grown their popularity over the years Due to product placement in a lot of Korean Drama. Fried chicken is also known as their staple home cook dish before it got popularize. The raise of the popularity also making Chir Chir expand its wing with more than 100 stores in South Korea.

Chir Chir (4)

Chir Chir (5)

Love their ambiance, as it is very simple, cheeky and playful environment that have a lot of props hanging here and there.

Chir Chir (6)

Being a fun chicken house, they also provide you with their signapture utensils that allow your finger to slip it in and clip onto any of your preferred chicken pieces and bite from there without dirtying your fingers. They do prepare a mini bucket at the side to let you throw away the bones.

Chir Chir (7)

Menu is filled with pictures that makes us easy to pick our choices.

Chir Chir (8)

When the first drink arrived, I got excited as this is the first time I see an interesting fusion beer, known as their Signature Chir Cream Beer. Smooth whipped cream on the top to add a little smooth and if you drink it together indeed it is quite interesting.

Chir Chir (9)

Chir Chir (10)

Some of the menu recommended drinks are Passion Fruit and Blue Sky Tok! Tok! Both are available in alcohol or cocktail. In these drink, they have a little twist of flavor in each cup as the base is making the difference of taste after you stir it.

Chir Chir (11)

Red-gizer, is the most interesting as it is top with a canned of Red Bull. The trick to  drink this as you need to slide out the can and let Red Bull flood the mug, then mix it together.

Chir Chir (12)

See how Esther is enjoying her drink.

Chir Chir (13)

Diners who think Fried Chicke is too heavy then, Honey Grape Salad is a great option . Filled with seedless grapes, raisins, nuts and whipped cream. I love the little thin cracker that gives you the little crack and aromatic flavor which is needed.

Chir Chir (14)

Another dish that will slightly mess up with your tongue is this Spicy Topokki. Serve in fiery red soup base that might give you an instant impression that it spicy and will make make you sweat right before you dig in. Filled with Cajun battered squid, egg, fish cakes, and toppoki. Love the slightly creamy gravy that is sourish sweet and the spiciness kicks in after a few more sips of the gravy. Some of you who could not take spicy, this might be a challenge.

Chir Chir (15)

Cheese is part of the new trend in Korean food. For their fusion series, they do have Mac & Cheese that is serve on a hot pan, with sea of shredded melted cheddar. Another option is  Topokki & Cheese that is serve with a combination of rice cakes with creamy cheese sauce, chicken ham and bacon bits.

Chir Chir (16)

Chir Chir (16.0)

Kicking off with their chicken series, head for their classic Crispy Fried Chicken to start of with. A classic recipe that have it crunch outside and fill with nice mild fragrant after taste. Do not miss dipping into their special sauce where it do enhance the flavor of it. Learn the trick of using the chicken clip and it feels quite interesting. Indeed I do not need to find a basin to wash of but I still prefer using hand to enjoy my fried chicken.

Chir Chir (16.1)

Another of my personal favorite is this Honey Butter Chicken . Chicken is cook to perfection and also marination is season well. Taste of honey and butter were quite prominent yet chicken meat is not too dry. The sauce do give you a little sweet end that make the taste a great combination.

Chir Chir (17)

If you like punchy flavours, Garlicky Tenders is coated in special soy sauce and crunchy garlic bits. They have fried topokki too. Just bite the whole pieces as this is boneless chicken tenders that have sweet and slightly sticky combination.

Chir Chir (21)

Chicken wing lovers will fall in love with this as it is a whole plate of chicken wings. The Spicy Wings! Is caramelize in Chir Chir special sauce with sweet potato cubes and rice cakes. Almond bits were sprinkle ontop to give you additional nice crunchy bites.

Chir Chir (22)

Serve in a hot pan is this Spicy BBQ Roasted Chicken comes with oven-roasted chicken in spicy BBQ sauce. The effect is the same as Spicy topokki.  The usual thought when a food is wrap in aluminum foil is potato but this wrong we are wrong as it is  one whole salted baked egg, and a hearty serving of baked potato with sour cream.

Chir Chir (23)

The Nest Snow is the most interesting food presentation compare to others. Filled with Cajun chicken tenders, that sits in a sea of cream sauce and sweet potato mash, topped with freshly whipped cream and grated cheese. This portion is meant to share.

Got to know another Fried Chicken Brand that will be coming soon and do prepare to get your fingers dirty or use their little chicken clip when they operate in Pavilion in January.

*Another best way to enjoy this is by sharing. Often we say sharing is caring and this is certainly the time to share as  do come with a group of friends or with family members as the portion here is quite big.

Wild Honey is a Singapore – based cafe that had made a strong pretense in their local context. Moving over to the shore of Malaysia, the first Wild Honey Malaysia is located on Pavilion KL 6th floor by replacing previous tenant Spasso Milano.

Wild Honey (2)

With its tag line Wild Honey – No Place like Home is one of a cafe that offers all Day Breakfast and I think they did a collaboration or Common Man Coffee Roasters are associate with them?

My order was Delancey – Pastrami Benedict featuring Sacha & Sons pastrami, poached eggs & grain mustard Hollandaise on signature brioche. @ RM 40

Wild Honey (13)

Crisp Potato pancakes, house cured gravalax, avocado, salmon pearls & horseradish creme fraiche & pickled cucumber.

Wild Honey (14)

Both dish were rather disappointing as for the kind of price that I am paying, I would expect more – in terms of flavours & presentation. One of the reason is also my expectation was built up that how good this place was. For the price I am paying, I could opted Yeast that serve better quality food. Portion were small too and I still think I do not mind to pay for Common Man Roasters Brunch Menu.

According to my friend, the safest bet to dine here for a dish will be Norwegian, to add on, she commented that it taste much better in Singapore.

For this outlet, there are mix taste reaction. I had not so good as some of my friends find it good. It is up for yourself to experience it.

Since I am greedy, I order Four Flavour Twist @ RM 10 with Soda Cream, Rose Lychee, Grape Yogurt and Melon Milk. Nice gimmick on the long cone paper.  Ice cream is decent and flavour  for soda cream reminds you of the paddle pop lime cream ice cream.

softsrve Mini (9)

Its another new gimmick in town for you to try and insta. Not my type of ice cream that I will go for.
