Hameediyah Restaurant is one of the oldest Nasi Kandar In Penang located in Campbell Street. . It could also be one of the first Nasi Kandar In Penang if I read correctly. However, this is one of a famous Penang street food.

be prepare to queue if it is normal days and even longer as far as 4-6 shops if its on long weekend. My queue was during CMCO and it is easily 15 minutes queue.

They are famous for a certain reason. Their colourful dark colours of curries. When you stand at my spot, you will start to swallow saliva as the smell of curries just poke thru your nose and make you instant hungry. All curries looks super appetizing. A slight close up for you below.

Do note and take at your own risk:

  1. If you take seafood or Lamb, your price to pay might be expensive.

I took lamb and it is not cheap, with lamb curries, veggie and beef. NO doubt that the curries are pack with flavours after our Penang people favourite style: kuah banjir. I did have a side small request package of mix curries to be brought back home.

My damage for those is aready around RM 38 which is more expensive than many others out there.

murtabak

While I was queueing, this is no doubt maciam best. SO bought 1 Martabak ayam back. Turns out to be better than expected. If you dine there, I believe it would taste better. Something worth for you to explore.

oh well, some people would regard this as the best nasi kandar in Penang. What do you think?

Well, I have not been Penang quite a while now and my past visit was to this famous Deen Nasi Kandar in Jelutong. My friend told me that they no longer went to Line Clear after the dispute, the taste no longer the same.

Nasi Kandar Deen had been in the scene for very long time and is also regard one of the best nasi kandar in Penang at night as they constantly have queue. It will be longer when it comes to long weekend.

Most of my friend now will come here for supper instead of the infamous Nasi Kandar Line Clear or Nasi Kandar Beratur.

Most of the dishes are nearly the same is just that the colour of their dishes do look different in terms of colour. Gravy here do look slightly thicker and fiercer .

Ken had his meal dope up with extra gravy and rice. Mine I always had the usual which is telur , daging and kubis. Price here are very reasonable if you compare to the other 2.

I am not a fan of Bendi or okra, but here is a must have as it is cook to perfection. not too soft yet the is a slight crunch on the surface of it which I like.

This is my plate of nasi kandar with kuah banjir (flood with mix gravy). Love the gravy and curries here as it has more spices and it is quite well balance. Daging gravy is quite solid which have been ages since last had that kind of taste. My plate is only about RM 7

If you are in Penang for long holiday, this place is one of my recommended place at the moment. Forget about those infamous place for your night nasi kandar.
